Snow? SNOW?!?!
Posted 11 years ago The American Midwest is well into Spring. The pool was just made ready for use, I just mowed the grass and all of the little girls in the neighborhood are dressed like whores. This isn't some silly little *poof* of snow that melts right away we are receiving INCHES of snow that look like they are going to stick around. Ridiculous! RIDICULOUS! I've been bent on moving for months now. All I need is good weather on my days off. The cosmic forces don't want me to move. I don't often swear but I opened my window this morning and found out the Earth rotated 180 degrees on whatever axis puts us back into winter. BLARGH!

I came to see people so I haunted the central areas looking for familiar faces.
Thursday night I went to the con to register- I was dicking around till I saw Artdecade. Then I got to see Marcothecat and a couple of other really cool artists. I geeked out and made an ass of myself but it was still fun to see them.
Friday I toured the four artists alleys. I think dividing up the space worked pretty well in terms of traffic. I got to put more faces to the names I've been watching like Strype and Stigmata. I did some talent ogling till prying my way into the Dealer's Den which was entirely too small. Nothing astounding but then I have been swearing off material possessions a bit lately so don't take my word on it. I was thrilled to run into Jasper and her friend who I am embarrassed to admit name escapes me but is in charge of organizing some particular element of AC, and a gentlemen named Fabi who turned out to be awesome to talk to.
Later on I ran into Miateshcha and Missy Vixen again after a few years of not going to cons. We, along with their friend Killosk came up with a horrifying new fetish (at least I think it's new) NO I WON'T TELL YOU WHAT IT IS! HAHAHAHA!
Saturday after working for 11 hours at my......awesome job I came in and met up with my older brother (the monster who brought me into the fandom) and his daughter. My niece was absolutely having a blast. I enjoyed people watching with her and attempting and failing explaining things she was seeing. We were chastised more than once by the Joy Gestapo over such infractions just as running, skipping, jumping, experiencing happiness, not being old/mature enough to engage in coitus.
After they departed (past her bedtime no less!) I went to the Figure drawing panel. I attended a nude figure drawing panel years ago when it was run by Jasper. This time there were several times the number of people there to draw. We were in a long room and there were SIX models simultaneously! So we had out choice of genders, body types and poses. It was very cool and very fun. Lots of barely tasteful but not insulting jokes. No creeps either which apparently was impressive.
Sunday didn't happen because it was back to work and my fabulous job till the con was over. Somehow being local didn't mean my sleeping habits were any better so I need the sleep anyways. There were a few things that I meant to do that I didn't but unless the world ends I'd say there is always next con. I hope everyone who went had a good time and found it worth the trip like I did.

Goin' back to school......?
Posted 12 years agoI am playing with the idea of going back to College for a second go. I have a bachelors already. The question now is do I go into student debt simply because I like being in an academic environment? Will it help me get ahead? I am 31 now. I know it is never too late to learn but actually taking out loans and not working at a career for 3-4 years to possibly get into a good position? Also it should be noted that I HATE my job and this school thing would serve as much as an exit strategy from this horrible job. Any advice/life experience anecdotes are appreciated!
A question on image resolution...
Posted 14 years agoI'd like an image to be viewed in it's entirety without having to scroll to see it all but still have it as large as possible. Anyone know what the optimum resolution is? I am gonna look around for the answer I just want to see if anyone else has any advice on the subject that I haven't thought about.

Posted 15 years agoWhen making out with some one is there a polite way of coming up for air? I don't hold my breath but it definitely restricts air flow. I realize it is good manners to simply asphyxiate but I haven't met anyone who is worth it yet.

Fashion design education?
Posted 15 years agoEver since I moved back to Chicago from San Francisco I have had NO luck getting employment again. My parents teach at a local college and have been urging me to to take up classes again. I am thinking about taking up classes there in fashion design. I'll see if the summer courses interest me. If any of you have any input I am all ears. Who knows? Maybe if I get into it I'll start building fursuits! XD

Posted 16 years agoThey call it "post con depression" or something like that. I've never "come down" from a con before. FC was awesome! like any con it wasn't a stress free thrill a minute. But there was something about the whole thing that is very hard to leave. The real world beckons and I don't wanna go!

Further Confusion
Posted 16 years agoOk so I am going since I'll be in a the neighborhood anyways. I am looking at the events schedule and nothing is really jumping out at me. I'll probably show up with a sketch book and laptop and just socialize and draw. Anyone else have any ideas of what else I can do while I am there?

Some hideous ill-developed mutant version of myself was removed from a vagina! (of all places! ( and I don't even want to tell you whose! D: ))
July 15th? Why! that makes me a cancer! But don't worry I take antidepressants for that! they keep the crushing reality of life from killing my buzz!
I worked during the day and in the evening we went out to a pizza place and I ate a whole massive greek calzone. I had some fairy drink (it was my birthday I had to) and established that I really am getting away from mixed drinks. then we all chilled at our place and drank beers. I had a stella artrois which i had only first tried at AC ;)
Ma sent back presents (she got me a tea set! yay!) so I opened those while we listened to a recording of a local business owner / coke head scream at police about a parking ticket for a half and hour. it was lovely ambiance. all around a nice little birthday for me :)

-found out that pittsburgh is a cool but cramped city!
