*cracks knuckles*
Posted a month agoA lot of changes on here! And I forgot the password to my main account, oh well. I prefer going by ZJfreak these days more (made that account to claim the name, but I might use it for adopts, commissions, trades and plush/costume making) but I still gonna try to get that account back....... another time
I gonna rewrite this profile and decrease the length of it, me then and now has changed so much and I used to be overly concerned with being misinterpreted. I'm happy to answer questions but there's no use in reasoning with a hostile crowd... Not that it has happened -yet- but my shit needs content warnings. I'll have the right crowd if I keep trying, I just gotta get writing! Ngl I fell down the sergal rabithole and it wants me to put out my world building out there so bad.
also YAY filters!! Gonna rewrite my profile, make a separate journal for permissions (they're very limited still) and a more accessible place to source links. This was done so messily. I'm a chronic organizer so that's not a problem. Oh well, writing this for myself as a check list, I guess?

Natural drive, exophilia & plesionphilia (Nekenami)
Posted 11 months agoCW: Mild/nondetailed sexual and fetish discussion
Due to Nekenami having so many sapient species, it's only expected that some end up mingling (romantically or sexually). Although attempts to study this phenomenon have been made, politics and propaganda have made it near impossible until the last 1,000 years.
There are clear differences in species that have a natural drive towards other species, or where it's a fetish. Some species have only been documented to have fetishes towards certain species, this is caused by historical societal pressures, (in)compatibility on a biological level, and neurological reasons. Some species are just wired to be comfortable to intermix.
Though there's a difference between being attracted to species on the same planet (called neighbor species) or species from a different planet (named exo/extraterrestrial species), fetish rates towards exo species are often higher.
A natural drive is often declared if the general population has a 35% interest in other species, has successful relationships, has ancestors (adoptive or reproductive) of different species, and appears to have similar reactions as their own species through brain scans when viewing photography. (Clips from film to pornographic material are often used). A fetish is often marked if this doesn't appear in the general population (usually excluding extreme ends of isolation and intermixing).
Exophila is only named for individuals who have a fetish towards exo species, plesionphilia (neighbor-loving) is the name for having a fetish for neighbor species. Exophilia rates are usually higher than plesionphilia, as it's not too uncommon to have a natural drive towards neighboring species (Although it's often the case that the general population of one species only prefers 1-2 species on the same planet)
REMINDER: NEKENAMI SPECIES ARE NOT DIRECT STAND-INS FOR HUMANS. The author heavily discourages comparing it to real human biology.
