I'm still active here. Not dead, which is good.
Things are going well for me so far. Work isn't too hard though I've been on 9-hour shifts for a hell of a long time. I'm in a good place mentally, physically I'm trying to get better sleep and eating less, too. Overeating isn't doing me or my wallet any favors.
I have two fursuits in the works at present. One by  fbsuits of a heavy metal themed wolf, and one by  trishabeisam of a female skunk~
I'm really excited for both!
Things are okay, which for me is saying something.

I invited a very open-minded cousin of mine to go with me and he said yes, so this will be a first for both of us!

Okay. So I was pumped about the new Metallica album. After all, why shouldn't I be? I love metal, and Metallica's Ride The Lightning was my first metal album. Plus, it's their first album since Death Magnetic in '08. Longest period between albums for the band ever. AND it's one of only two or three albums of theirs I've been cognizant of.
However, that being said... It's too loud. It's the same issue that plagued Death Magnetic. Production is crisp, everything sounds good. It really does. Even Lars' drumming (though standard for Lars) sounds good. But it's too goddamn loud. Metallica had the good idea to post three tracks before the release of Hardwired to their official Soundcloud account and I have to say that it sounds better there. The mixing isn't the same as the album. It's not as polished or as crisp, as previously mentioned, but most of all, it's not tiring to listen to.

Don't get me wrong. Hardwired is good. It's some damn fine stuff for them, especially considering they're now in their mid-50s. But goddamn it, it already needs remixing. Fuck.

Not sure if this counts but it's something I've put a bit of thought into over time.
I've identified as asexual for a number of years now. I've never felt a particular sexual attraction to either guys or girls for as long as I can remember. I do however, have feelings like that, that is, sexual feelings, towards robots.
Now, I know that this word isn't actually a real dictionary definition for how I identify but I feel like it is absolutely the most correct and applicable definition for how I feel.

I identify as a robosexual.

To a lot of you this might not be much of a surprise at all. After all, I've catered my online image to be robotic or having an interest in robotics for a number of years now. But for some of you it will be a surprise. For me robots aren't just a fetish. They're what I'm attracted to. I don't find human beings sexually attractive. I've felt this way for years now. And I feel like it was time I wrote it out, so I wouldn't forget.

Ordered the new parts & some replacement slider & knob covers for my Juno. Started making a Discogs collection of my CDs and cassettes. I'll probably begin to work on my records this weekend.

The Miata is still a WIP. Tired of looking up wheels and finding a style I like. Been getting much more skilled at route planning and pothole dodging in the meantime. Bought a Roland Juno-106. One of the voice chips in it is dead though. Two steps forward one step back seems to be my life at present. Oh, and I bought a secondhand fursuit to surprise a coworker's daughter for her birthday. She wanted a fursuit. I'm just paying forward some kindness that had been directed towards me when I got my fursuits.

It's way too hot, I never get enough sleep, and I never have enough time off.

Spring break for me actually happens this year.
Last year I got my job and unfortunately couldn't go.
Well I am for sure going this year, hell or high water, rain or shine.
Can't wait to be on the gulf coast again.
I also can't wait to see  nominusexpers again.
I haven't seen him since MFF and I miss him dearly.

I leave tomorrow at 2 and will be AFK most of the trip. Don't want to miss anything.

HEY! Do you need a room for MFF? I plan on having one at the Embassy Suites O'Hare in Rosemont! I'd have the room by the afternoon on Friday the 4th and checkout would be in the morning on Monday the 7th.
Since word on the street is that the Hyatt Regency O'Hare is booked solid, this hotel is a bit of a walk from the actual convention hotel. I stayed in the same hotel last year, and I did appreciate the peace and quiet of staying in an outlying hotel.
This hotel and the Hyatt Regency are connected via an enclosed walkway, so travel to and from the con is pretty easy.

I'm just testing the waters at this point. I'd prefer to know the person I'm rooming with beforehand as well. Thanks!

On the back, I would like you to draw me your favorite animal using only one color (preferably your favorite color).
I will use the front of the cards as a means to help pronunciation and the back of the cards as vocab for animals and colors for my potential students.
These don't have to be masterpieces, but please make sure they are recognizable for kids about 6-11 years old.
