The trip was good overall, I'd say, even with inclement weather and scheduling issues.
I bought the Miata (check my scraps for photos), and I'm back to work tonight.
Now what's crazy is it's only 11 days until my Birthday. I'll be 23 this year.

Vacation update
General | Posted 10 years agoScheduling bullshit happened. My parents found a plan B cottage to stay in. Not a huge fan, but what can I do?
Not in Minocqua. Now in Tomahawk, WI.
Bought a new jacket. I want to buy this car and just get it over with.
I'm here for another 5 days.

Car Project Update
General | Posted 10 years agoGeo Prizm. Solid car, but just not the right car for me. No replies on an RX-7 FC in Wisconsin.
Finally thought I had found the one. 1992 Mazda MX-5 Miata automatic. 90,000 miles on it. Red. Solid as a rock.
I sat in it.
I drove it.
I loved it.
Hell, I even fit in it.
But the price was outrageous. Kelley Blue Book value for a car like that is between about $2,500 and $3,900. The dealer wanted $4,700 and not a penny less.
Had to walk away.
My thoughts that I wrote up. I'm still getting over it but hopefully he'll eventually come down when nobody buys it. Automatics are unpopular.
"$4,800? No. This car is in no way worth $4,800 dollars. It's worth at best $3,900 and at worst $2,500 with the condition it's in. And to make matters worse, you don't even want to negotiate. Just flat out refuse. You know what that does? That makes me feel disrespected as a customer. Or... A potential customer. I don't honestly care how much you paid for this car at auction. You should know the risks. You should know that this car isn't worth what you paid for it. You should know that you could be at a loss on a sale of a car. I don't care how much rent you pay to keep your business open. You have all these cars for sale and yet your inventory changes like what, every two months? Possibly more? Don't get me wrong. I love the car. I would love to drive it home. But if you refuse to work with me? I refuse to work with you. I'm done.

College Graduation

As some of you know, I dropped out of college in the third quarter of 2012. And I never went back. After spending my Freshman year of college, plus a month of my Sophomore year in school, I developed relationships with quite a handful of people at my alma mater, Cornell College.
Well, tomorrow is their graduation day. I will be there.
It will be a bittersweet thing to see my old college friends graduate and to see them for what may well be the last time in my life and theirs.
But I feel like it's something I need to do. It's something that will bring me closure; for what, I can't really say... But it's something I must do.
I know it won't be easy to see them all, but I made a promise to myself that I'd see them all again on graduation day to say hello, and goodbye.
I'm looking forward to it and also dreading it in a very bittersweet way.
I'll probably cry, but I want to be happy for them beginning a new chapter of their lives.
It'll all be okay.

General | Posted 10 years agoIt's alright. Folks are friendly, food from the cafeteria is good, hours are fair.
LOTS to learn. I am barely now starting to get an idea of what I'm doing.
I've read more in the past four days than I have in all my time at my old job.
Toured a new facility that's being built today. It's massive. More than a half-million square feet. It was really cool.
Next week I work second shift. Which should be different, to say the least.
Also, IMVU.
Don't care.
Staying here.
Waiting for all this to blow over.

The power of Armor-All
General | Posted 11 years agoI felt bad having neglected a rubber cat hood of mine, so I washed it and treated it with some Armor-All leftover in the garage. The results are pretty damn dramatic.

Faded, scratched, matted... It kind of hurt to look at, truth be told. This is what oils and neglect do to latex.

Oh man, I felt so much better seeing the end result. It looks like, 200% better than it did. After wiping off the excess fluid, you can still see where the latex started to get degraded due to the oils in my skin, but it looks so much better, and the degradation will hopefully be negated.

Gone for a week starting this Saturday. Going on the annual family vacation up to Minocqua, Wisconsin.
Birthday's on the 21st, turning 22.
Still gotta apply for my FOID.
I'm doing okay.
Still thinking about how sweet it'd be to come back from my vacation and not have to go back to work, but it's whatever.

General | Posted 11 years agoDidn't sleep great. Wished I could have fifteen more minutes of sleep, but crawled out of bed anyway.
Got 3/4 of the way down the stairs and slipped. Totally ragdolled all the way to the bottom of the stairs and woke up my parents.
Nothing's broken. It just sucked royally. I know I'll be feeling it in my shoulder and hip later today (as if I'm not feeling it already haha).
