Food.
Think about it. We all have to eat to stay alive.
Can't pay for your food? Chances are you won't eat.
What happens if you don't eat?
You die.
Basically, we have to pay to keep ourselves alive, and someone else profits off of our survival.
That's pretty fucked up.
We need to be more self-sufficient.

EDIT: No, this is not a political issue.
I'm just pointing out how fucked up this is.

Well, seems my 5-year old Toshiba Satellite laptop finally bit the dust tonight...
...You were a good laptop. Though a bit heated at times, and a tad finicky, you took the full-force of my willy-nilly program installing, and were my portal to the furry fandom all those years ago. You stood up to the use and abuse of an American teenager, and for that, I must commend your stalwart soul. I'm grateful to have had you for all these years, and I am glad to have used you for as long as I did. Thank you, my friend. You have treated me well.

Made it home safely.
Now I'll have to fight my way back.

It really sucks to say this. Really really sucks, but I have to.
I've been on academic probation since last year, and I had the first block of this year to make up my grade. I've been eligible for suspension since the end of block 9 of last year because of my bad grades. It was my responsibility to get better grades this year; a C or better, to be exact. This first block, my grade was a D+. I can't tell you how frustrating it is to be so close, and yet failing.
As a result of this, I'm leaving Cornell.
Earliest I could come back is January, because I need to sort things out. I've got some inner issues that I need to deal with, and I'm sure I have to take some classes elsewhere to keep my credits up. I'll do my best to keep in contact with my fellow Cornellians, but I can't make any guarantees. I'm really sorry.
Thanks for making Blackout (a 96-hour LAN party) my most satisfying final hurrah.

Yeah. This is a couple days old. I'll be out of college by next Saturday or so.

The new PC is built, it functions, it has internet, and I am currently installing games!

Back home a few days earlier than planned due to some family issues, but I had a relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable vacation.

In other news, birthday's in 11 days. Hitting the big 2-0. Yeah. Looks like I can look forward to changing my journal header. Awesome.

Yeah, will be gone to Minocqua, Wisconsin until this coming Saturday. Unsure if I will be able to check FA, just so you folks know.

Birthday's a bit less than a month away (August 21st), and I'm hitting 20.
Working over the summer has put me up over $500, so now I just have to find a PC I'm happy with and buy it...

Doing okay. Wish it was cooler.

My usual chat client has been bought out by Google and as a result, their chat client which I have been using for at least three or four years is being discontinued... *sighs*

I'm worried I've lost my desire to take photos...
I don't take nearly as many photos as I used to, I don't even feel like I want to pursue being a photographer in my spare time anymore. I'm more often than not discouraged by other photographers who are honestly better at their craft than I am, but I don't want to give up photography in the same way I gave up writing...
I just don't know... Not one photo I take even excites me anymore.

As far as we know, we are seeing the lights of stars which no longer exist, and we here on Earth are stuck, watching their stellar lives unfold millions of years after their deaths.
