Tomorrow I'll start contacting everyone individually (both who got a slot and those who didn't) but if you're seeing this journal now, you may refer to the queue and check yourself: HERE!
If somebody feels like I missed them or I've missed something in general, please reach out and send me a Note!
Invoices will most likely start getting sent this Monday and Tuesday.

So the last part of my PC build has finally shipped and I'll have it up and running at the start of January.
Since I'll be doing art for longer on the laptop, I've taken a reduced number of commissions for next month, comprised of people having submitted all the way back since October. After that it's going to be a clean slate going forward into February once I open up again for new commissions.

So here's the skinny:
After all the traveling, I underwent self-imposed quarantine with a friend at a motel, which ends this Monday. Ideally we would've gotten our own place at the end of this but dealing with legal matters after moving and the holidays, we'll be staying at his family's for a short time. Also, I'm experiencing headaches over getting my new computer setup ordered. That was expected with all the shortages but all the components are just going to show up at different times next month. And God forbid I can get my hands on a new GPU, another friend is donating their previous video card (thank you once again!) to help me bridge that gap.
I've gotten back in the swing of drawing on my laptop but I don't feel I'm efficient enough to undertake commissions. It's not a question of quality, it's just a little awkward and cramped. So I've made the decision to focus on Patreon in December and finish some trades.
Sorry to disappoint anyone hoping to get a commission from me in December! But it's only fair for everyone involved. Plus I'd be busy with intermittently putting together the new PC setup AND moving into a new place.

I've crossed great distances but last Tuesday I landed on terra firma for good and have been since dealing with legal matters.
I have my laptop setup up and running and will be easing into artwork with finishing off the Patreon rewards for the month.
Things will be in flux for me for a little while longer so notices for commissions and such will be kinda spontaneous, most likely.
Just letting everyone know things are currently going okay and for a bit longer my presence will be infrequent online.

So, life update - I'm starting my move tomorrow and I'll be moving far away from home. This also means I'm leaving my PC behind, take the info from it and I'll be building a new desktop. Which in and of itself has been a long time coming since this machine has been serving me for 7 years. But that also means I'll be limited in my capabilities to draw. I will have my laptop with me, I have drawn on it but unfortunately it's unstable (and has corrupted work files in the past), so I'll be extremely cautious and SLOW with art on it.
So as far as art goes, it's a lil touch and go. The minimum I'll be covering is Patreon content. Commissions? Will have to make an update for that once I have my new setup properly installed and running.

Update on commissions/upcoming life changes

There will be four commissions I'll push into the start of November. Tomorrow I'll be focused on finishing off my Patreon obligations for the month. The reason for the delays stems from some big changes in my life coming up in a couple of weeks. So I've been dealing with lots of bureaucracy which is made slower standing in lines during quarantine times. And furthermore, if all goes according to plan, I will be moving in two weeks. I've been working overtime with art to try and compensate but unfortunately, as stated at the start of this paragraph, I have to push four commissions into the first week of November.
I'm glad the image morph commissions picked up speed and popularity as they helped me cover unforeseen expenses right at the start of this month. October has been all over the place for me, far from business as usual.
Thank you all for your understanding and I will maintain contact with the remainder of clients on the queue, of course!

FIRST - AN IMPORTANT NOTICE! Later today I'm flying out of town on personal business, will be returning the day after but I'll be gone in a week from now again. So this first week of October is going to be a bit rocky. In the second half of September I had a few events happen in sequence and needed my immediate attention. Despite having kept to the forms submitted in August without taking new ones, I couldn't finish two commissions from September. Many apologies and trust me, I really don't like having to slip commissions into following months, both for making clients wait and also the fact I live off of this income and would rather keep to clearing my queue each month. Posted 5 years agoSo I had planned buffers during commission hours for the month which were taken up by a friend asking for help on a workday, then a string of family celebrations I tended to. Right after though, local construction fucked a power cable and the transformer. I've been having frequent power outages and all of this is happening during workdays.
I'm still without power and will have to work late hours to catch up as I'm officially behind schedule. They do turn on the power here and there but mornings and afternoons are blackout periods.
I'll do my best to catch up but things aren't looking good so this is just a heads-up for the possibility of some commissions being pushed to early September.

Dad's out of the hospital, just got to see him for the first time in over two weeks. Things are rough but he's stable and recovering.
I've got two more Patreon images to finish off, I'm considering opening for commissions either this Tuesday or Wednesday, just depends how tomorrow goes, need to get certain things done.
But yeah! Bit of relief.

March has really been something else, huh.
I didn't open for commissions for two main reasons - health concerns and my preparations for moving out to live elsewhere. The tl;dr on the health thing is it's vascular-related but I'll be fine. Not something that can be mended but it's not dangerous so I'll live with it as-is. Then COVID-19 put my plans to move to a screeching halt, right as I was amidst preparations.
I took on more patreon images to do for this month since I didn't officially open for commissions but considered opening up mid-March. Unfortunately my dad got hit by a car on Friday the 13th (yeah) and has been in the hospital since. He's stable but considering everything is under lockdown, it's a lot more difficult to deal with the situation, also with the added scarcity of items across the board.
With my dad incapacitated, I've been helping my grandma to stock up and generally aid with anything she needs.
So art-wise I've been hit with a major damper.
Things have improved but I've got images waiting for me to finish and there's just barely over a week left of the month. So I won't be opening for commissions at all.
Though I plan on opening my slots for April commissions sometime this coming week, I'll make a formal announcement as usual.
Hope everyone is safe and doing well in these trying times!

Posted 5 years agoThings have been happening IRL and I'll need to tend to them during the daytime. It's going to slow down commission work. Possibly even need to delay two commissions for the start of March. For now I am NOT opening new slots.
I don't want to line up a full queue without being certain if I can fulfill it during March.
There are people who've submitted forms for February and didn't get picked so I'll approach them first.
If things smooth out I might open up for March commissions during March.

I want to increase my engagement with my supporters without having to create more exclusive content and such, but instead increase the number of images I complete from patrons' suggestions and also to create more polls more frequently.
