Finally got around to organizing my stuff into folders....got a reminder I really need to upload more of my music to FA (all of the recent stuff is on Bandcamp for free). Lots of old singles in there right now, need to fill it out with more recent stuff heh.

Sorry I've been silent the last couple of months, old system's CPU fried and I've been without a system for awhile.

New rig is a total monster though :D

I love this damned thing, went from running Warframe at 40fps to 200 fps at max graphics, and my boot time is between 3 and 4 seconds <3

Figured I should probably give a big ol' update here since it's been awhile.

I'm moved in with my boyfriend and working overnights full time, combined with being busy with the Overwatch team I'm on I'm fairly busy, but still getting some music work done.


The next album coming out is titled "Wings of the Butterfly" in reference to my obsession with butterfly knife tricks. It's going to contain a long connected series of tracks similar to Schadenfreude in my last album as well as a few stand-alone tracks (unless I split things into 2 albums, which is a possibility). I'm going to get some more teaser things up pretty soon since I'm more than halfway done.

In other news, refining my mastering techniques some more lately, should be doing a little better in the Loudness War so to speak with a better dynamic range and cleaner output.

Switching my music back to pay what you want over on Bandcamp, I'm going to keep my downloads directed that way for the mostpart since they're the most flexible on file types.


I figure the steam I had built up over the summer died out with my college schedule, and there's no reason to sell my music right now, so pay what you want, or nothing, up to you!


So with that out of the way, expect copious amounts of audio being uploaded over the next day or so. I'm probably going to start tomorrow morning and see where I stand.

College had me busy right up until the day before Christmas, and I've been working a bunch, and the days I have free I've been with my boyfriend, so progress has been slow, but I do hope to get at least project Shadenfreude out before my classes bury me again.

So here's a quick rundown of what's going on:
-Shadenfreude is becoming one of the most absurd projects I've done length wise....can't be helped lol. It's currently a 4 part song, nearing 10 minutes, a little bonkers but fun stuff
-Oh No Remix is nearly done, just needs an outro and mastering cleanup
-Beautiful Discord just got rendered, will be on the album because chill stuff. (Has nothing to do with ponies or VOIP :P)
-Various other tracks I'm working on and off on

Hopefully I'll be able to get myself more active on here during the next college semester, the fall just consumed me.

Hey FA, been awhile eh?

College has kept me ungodly busy for the last month or so, but some work has been done on Echoes of the Past. This album is proving to be a little bit bigger than I expected but hey it'll be worth it.

Schadenfreude has been coming along pretty wild, it's actually turned into a 2 part track (Day/Night, think Pendulum's "The Island"), and it's probably one of my better tracks to date. Aero's Remix is up here on FA, Oh No's remix is nearing the end, and I have a few side projects blurring into the album :)

I'll upload what I can when I can, but college has its teeth in me right now.

So yeah remember how I said everything it being worked on simultaneously for this album? Finally able to say one of the tracks is DONE!

Granted it's not done done, I just have the score finished, I still have some mastering to do and maybe add some more foley flavor, but it's basically done :P

The second remix of my older works in the album, the original track was stupidly catchy, so going back to it is pretty fun ^^
Slowed down the tempo a smidge and gave it a much more solid low shelf. This one may turn into a 6 minute track, depends on how much steam I feel the main beat has when I get deeper into it.

So I've been a bit too quiet the last week and a half....been working for a week and doing some odd-jobs, but I'm back to working on music full time again!




I'm making progress on the next album, titled "Echoes of the Past", commissioned cover art from the always fantastic  ObliviousAlly . The album was originally planned to be a remix album of my older works, but I feel like I'll lose my goddamned mind if I do that after reviewing older projects, so it's a mix of remixes and new stuff XD


Here's a few things I'm doing:

Remix of "Oh No" from 2007
This is a track that only people who listened to me on Newgrounds ages ago would recognize, but it was probably my first track that had any real following to it, even as brief as it was.

Lower tempo, but heavier hitting, it's still early so we'll see what happens. Very happy that I rebuilt a lot of those old TS404 synths in Harmor though, TS404 isn't even supported in FL anymore o.o



After that there's also Schadenfreude and Lights Out (both have snippets up in my gallery), I might actually be taking a crack at vocals on Schadenfreude in all of my tenor glory (or lack thereof).

A few other tracks I'm considering are projects cut from "Shadows": Beautiful Discord, Ride the Stream (Working Title), and various untitled things I might merge into some monstrosity like I did with Stop the Voices.

edit: almost forgot one: The Singularity. A psychedelic experimental track in two overlapping keys simultaneously. I need to improve my score writing, so I issued myself a challenge.

As far as I have planned for now, everything is going to follow the "Pay What You Want" format, as I like to keep the option open for free downloads while I can.

First batch of content on there is a smattering on remasters I've been wanting to do on my older tracks, I put up a good cleanup and remaster of Going Nowhere Fast already with Ebb and Flow's coming next, then probably Fuel the Cycle.

I'm glancing over Tigerdile right now and thinking back on the days I used to do a biweekly livestream and it got me thinking:

Just giving everyone a heads up, I'm going to be switching my music alias from DJ Comet to Sybol in the near future!

Going to be using this same page for posting stuff, no worries.


The reason for this is because I'm going to take a crack at selling my music (as I mentioned in a previous post).
DJ Comet sounds a bit dated since it's something I came up with back in the 90's, I'd rather use that as my radio alias than my music producing alias, plus the old one sounds like a techno artist's name, not going to pigeonhole myself into one genre :P


As far as selling music goes, I have a loose plan for what I'm going to be doing, although I haven't figured out what service I want to sell through (ie: bandcamp). I also need to get in contact with an artist to draw out new logos and such, I want a good presentable logo/design to display for my music, as much as I love my current one I drew back in '08.


TL;DR: Switching to Sybol as my name, selling music, need art for stuff.
