My dad in recovery and home from hospital. TY for supports!
Posted 2 months agoGood news, after a week my dad was in hospital ICU to appendix ruptured and major infections all over it. He is in good recovering and out of health crisis for now. He's discharged from hospital and is at home so my mom and I can relax back to almost normal life. It was stressful experience and worried if he will make it after saw him on not so good vitals. I'm now relieved he's alive and well which is a good thing we brought him to hospital on time after a month of unwell feeling. He still have a drainage bag to deal with for another 3 weeks to ensure all toxic fluids are out and will have to take care of it daily for cleaning to replacing bandages. It will be hard for him to deal with it for a lil more longer, several appointments, eating less but stable, and will be given him with one of two options on what to do with his already ruptured appendix from surgeon next month or two. Thank you so much to doctors and nurses who took amazing care for my dad; they're so important in our lives when we needed them in case of health emergency. It wouldn't be possible if it weren't for them!
Since I took almost 2 weeks off from work which happened to be the last weeks of the school year and not getting paycheck because of my work is substitute (I'm educational assistant; not a teacher) which is not covered in paid leaves. I had to do it during heath emergency to focus on dad and helping mom in transportation to stores for necessities. It's more important than work and I'm getting an employment insurance in about 2 weeks from now. I decided to set up optional donation from my previous journal with my paypal link (http://paypal.me/TheDeafDragon and I'm not in money emergency; it just community supports to donate or not at all if they desires to. Words of support is still more hugely appreciated!) that helps to fill in or recover worth of 2 weeks of my lost paycheck and to my surprise I reached so close to $400. I believe it's more than just enough for the next two weeks or less. Some to most of those will goes toward necessities, gas for my van, and cafe/restaurant inside hospital I already spent during my visits there. Will figures it out what to do with the remaining balance after I pays those off first.

Posted 2 months agoSo... yeah my dad is in hospital's ER and then ICU since last Tuesday due to appendix ruptured with major infections all over it. Good thing we convinced him enough to go to ER after his month of unwell feeling, struggles, and then worsens last week.
Fast forward to today, my dad is currently in ICU recovering, good vitals so far, and on oxygen (slowly decreasing the use while maintaining above o2 level). He's in good hands to doctors and nurses. He will have a surgery to remove his appendix. He won't be home until couple days later or weeks until when it's safe enough to discharge him. He will need lots of rest at home with help from my mom and I.
For donation part (it's optional and if you still wanted to donate then go for it if you wish to). We are not in financial issues but my mom and I have to take off from work for this week and likely next week. To be here and take care each others for my dad. It's more important than work in this health emergency situation. My mom and I work as an substitute EA (not teacher) for school board. Due to substitute job itself, it doesn't covers paid leave. Meaning we missed out work and paycheck worth of 2 weeks and it happened to be the final two weeks before summer vacation starts. We won't be back to work until after labor day September. We will be using employment insurance (EI) starting early July for 5 months.

My life, financial readjustment, future arts, plans & VRChat
Posted 4 months agoWe are already in the month of May, eh? It surely doesn't feel like it but man the time has gone way too fast. There are several announcements and life updates. It's gonna be TL;DR journal but I feel it's important to talk about it with you guys to keep in mind. I also linked it to this journal from my BlueSky account because of limited characters. So here we are, those are things I want to talk about at below is...
My username changes and my surprise to current FA staffs:
I recently changed my old FA username to new username PeppermintDrake (I have been using this since 2016) but my FA link remained with my old username in it until FA admin fully upgrades it in the future. It surprised me that new and current FA owner, admins, and mods is now competent to keep us communication for updates as well taking things more seriously. It's been a long time since last time they did something like that. They also did set up the future of FA site upgrades roadmap ever since Dragoneer passed away last year August and new owner took over. I applaud that to keep the site alive in modern internet hellscape we're in due to Ais and lots of problems leaving this site one of the few last bastion of true art/gallery based sites.
My major life updates and my minor financial readjustments:
As some of you guys may know that my job as Educational Assistant (EA) in casual position (substitute) for my district's school board (EA is not a teacher. It's just a main job to support students with special needs under teacher's direction in public schools, secondary schools, and Ed services so we have an entirely different roles. We're just below teacher hierarchy in school jobs so my paycheck tend to be less than teachers but at least it's a very good pay). Sooo, Summer Vacation is fast approaching starting at the end of June meaning my work doesn't operate during those two months until resumes in September for the next school year. Thankfully, I get entitled to have Employment Insurance from government for at least 4 months to keep me afloat during those two summer months of not working and another two months of working till November. It's a quarter less than my average paycheck but it's better than nothing really however I don't spend a lot during those months for that reasons and reserving it for my travel upcoming.
There's three more of that subject. Housing and rents in Canada is beyond ridiculous expensive so my current wage of almost $30/hr doesn't keeps it up and I'm still living with my parents. Thankfully my parents is very supportive and already knew I'm Gay and Asexual so it made my living situations a lot of better and allowed me to stay with them as they knew there is no way ppls like me are able to afford housing. I always help parents with some of expenses on groceries to things we buy in the current cost of living. Due to housing and rental costs situation which left me an option is to travel to visit countries and seeing friends because why not? I need to get that big chance. Travel is part of my life, freedom on my own away from my parents for 2 to 4 weeks, and deep passion so I tend to travel to visit countries in at least once to triple times a year depending on how much money I can afford to pay. On July 20th, I'm going on a cruise to UK, Ireland and North of France for 12 days and I already paid off as what I always do in my past travels. Travel ain't cheap but I don't give up that passion to cross off my dream travel bucket lists throughout my lifetime and I always do budget responsibly as I have more experiences on that.
There is a completely new one that will goes over top of my needs, wants, bills, artworks, and annual travel is a new car. That is unfortunate inevitable that my van I borrow from my parents for free for 12 years (18 years old van) is on it's last legs and becoming too costly to repair. It forced me with no option and really need it for work is to buy a new used car or brand new car for the first time ever in my own money. Meaning there will be new financial expenses (car payment loans) over top of needs, wants, artworks, and travel spending required me to do some readjustments on my spending to ensure budget accordingly. Few of my future artworks, travel plans, and wants items (aka Switch 2 for example) will be significantly reduced so you guys will notice my less than usual posting new artworks (Except giftarts and 6+ long overdue paid commissions I'm still awaiting). Hopefully new used car or brand new car will last me for years to come in current crazy car markets, manufacturer quality declines, etc.
My country just elected our new Prime Minister last week so hopefully within couple years they will solves the housing crisis, cost of living, wages, protect our country from threats from US, make our economy stronger, and much stronger trades with EU along with other countries. Maybe life better? Who know, will see about it.
The current and future of commission artworks, animations, and VRChat:
FA is now back online after almost a week or so. I recently uploaded two new artwork and animation yesterday sooo check them out in my gallery if you guys missed it! As what I mentioned above here so you guys may expect a bit less artworks from me for foreseeable future until car loans fully pays off. I'm from Canada so my currency exchange is pretty weak against USD, EURO, GBP and those artists tend to sell in those currencies for the good reasons (Artists needed it to meet their needs during recent economy turbulences and trying to survive it). Resulting of those artworks, 3D, animations etc more expensive to pay ($100 USD is like $140 in CAD for example and I have to pay that) and I become more selective on artists I want to comm including duo comm with friends/mutuals. If you see me uploading more new artworks than what I stated meaning most of them are 6+ long overdues and some of the others are giftarts.
I joined VRChat last November after I bought new PC, monitor, etc and finished built. I have been playing VRChat for months now and my experience was truly fun but enjoyable. In despite of my deaf with cochlear implant and difficulty to catch words in communication but I'm having so much fun with my friends and mutuals there. They're so nice to me! I have 3D avatar of my sona and it's still in WIP so I cannot wait to share it on BlueSky and here FA when it's done in the future! I may share couple of pics of my avatar on my BlueSky.

I was actively on Twitter for many years until Elon came in and ruined everything to the point I left that site and deleted for good last November. That site filled with hates, bots, trolls, garbages, Ais, etc and our post do get throttled often to harm visibility. I joined BlueSky 2 years ago and it's growing tremendously as it's feel like a true old Twitter but better mods as well our controls on what I want to see. BlueSky is now my main active site next to here FA. I also left Mastodon because of dead activity, barely ppls in there, and mod's overly control on what to post/what not to post so there is no point to continue active there. It's no wonder why it scared ppls away. It's now left me with only 3 is BlueSky, Itaku, and here. I do have Telegram for a decade and VRChat I joined months ago but they're only limited to my friends and mutuals. Ahaha Sorry. xP

Posted a year agoHearing the news about the sudden loss of Dragoneer and US Healthcare failed him horribly.
He was the pillar of this fandom that brought us all together, made friends, share arts, and changed our lives. It wouldn't be possible without him and his FA site.

Unveiling my sona in new major redesigned tomorrow or Sat

I announced with teaser pic of my sona in new major redesign yesterday so I figured to share it here as well since it's a huge change were made to my sona' after 10+ years of same design and I actually did rid of temporarily reference sheet I made last November.
I am actually felt more satisfied and more stronger connected to my own sona again. I'm sure some or most of you will love it.

Posted a year agoSince 2024 will be arriving here in few hours in my timezone. It also will be year of Dragon (soon this Feb)~! Can't wait to see more hot dragon artworks all over it in this fandom as it already started couple of hours ago. We dragons are taking over the world! :D

My reviews and my goals:
My 2023 experience was rather mediocre. Only highlight of that year was traveling to the Mediterranean countries for 3.5 weeks which was the longest I have ever traveled, met 4 online friends in real life, and it was amazing joyous experience. The rest of positive notes was getting more artworks I got, met few more new people, life was well in general, more new games I played, and few of the others. What it strongly impacted the supposed positive outcome of 2023 was someone who were close to me was Truss (Panscolipede) passed away last February impacted me greatly and my illness throughout the month of August after travel which was awful hell.
My goals for 2024 is to get more artworks with close friends to reduce a little on getting solo pics, commission to few certain artists to get (Kihu and couple of the others who are expensive) so I need to reduce a lot spending on commissions to save up more money to meet this true goal, getting 3D model of my own sona with able to rig for animations to 3D print in someday, quit Twitter (X) to become more active on BlueSky as main site for foreseeable future, and continue traveling around the world as usual as my every year's goals (My goal is to either visit Scandinavian countries, Adriatic sea countries, Japan, Hawaii, South Caribbean, and/or Australia/New Zealand to cross off my bucket list).

Posted 2 years agoHello, I wanted to let you all guys know I recently updated to my sona for tiny features I added such as eye colour change, ring added, additional false fangs along with existing ones, more masculine and bit older (30s-40s age I'm not good at it, tho). I didn't upload here and Itaku because of those references are temporarily and 15 refs which is way too much (Need to shrink down to as low as I can). It will takes some time until I find artist who will do reference sheet as well design my sona better than I could do in my envision. So, I ended up posted them on my Mastodon and BlueSky for now till I get official ones in the future. Seeing what do you guys think.

Possibility minor changes to my sona and demon form...
Posted 2 years agoFor the past 12.5 years of making and getting artworks of my sona that made more recognizable to this fandom as far as I'm aware of. The fact that I will soon departing the age of 20s and turning 30 years old next year which result getting older will reflects my sona' appearance over time.
My current reference sheet is getting outdated and really in need for new refresh one by next year 2024.
Mainly because of that timing, I recently started to think about possibility minor changes to be made for my sona' and my demon form for appearances, minor changes to outfits and add extra new outfits in, add new accessories to reflect me irl (Ring and maybe medic dog tag for example), modifying or adding new powers and skills to my sona, and I really need to be more serious about making background or origin story of both my sona and demon form.
What it will looks like? Honestly, I don't know what it will be but it won't be major changes. I am thinking it more like reflection to Spyro's dragon dads as inspiration of how they looks when growing older or something else? Idk. It's alot to think about and I don't want to make me feel like I wasted money and unhappy feeling about my current sona' so as long as it's not too different.

Posted 2 years agoSoooo, I forgot to mentioned this last week since this month of October is finally arrived. It's one of my special favourite month for beautiful autumn season, Halloween, Canadian Thanksgiving starting now as well tomorrow, and.... my own special day. Posted 2 years agoIn 2 weeks ago, I made a Bluesky account thanks to a random follower of mine over Twitter (idc, I won't called it "X" cus what the fuck is this) who happened to have a spare code. I completely forgot to share a link of my Bluesky account here and the other sites. I think that site may won a potential replacement to Twitter since there is huge influx of furries moving and making new account there in every 2 weeks since furries started to shows up on Bluesky in over a month ago. I never seen this site became so active, so calm, no dramas, no dooms, and it feels like old era Twitter all over it again which is nice! (It makes sense because BlueSky was created by ex-Twitter devs and volunteers).

Was in Europe and the Mediterranean on June 30th-July 22n...
Posted 2 years agoYeeeee, as anyone of you may noticed over my Twitter and Mastodon posting with tons of my travel pics. I was traveling in Europe for 3.5 weeks mostly concentrating to Mediterranean regions on June 30th until July 22nd.
My long trip was phenomenal and had an amazing time in my traveling life. <3
Biggest fav was Greece and Portugal! They're so beautiful places that makes me want to come back to visit again. Italy, Malta, and Germany was decently but had a great time there too. The weather was unfortunately under heatwaves at that time which was so hot and exhausting. @.=.@
Now, im home safely and relaxing since I arrived back home last night. I'm still dealing with jetlag, nasty cold, and exhausting tired. Hopefully, I'll get back to normal in atleast couple days. It's the wonder of traveling across timezones can be detrimental to mind and body. x3;

Posted 2 years agoSince I have seen some of dramas over FA's new policy change in regards of minors in NSFW and new additional rules itself are extremely vague. That is likely source of drama it caused over concern about kobold, imps, gremlin, short stack characters, size play, Pokemon, Digimon, and list so on in crossfire because they're short characters that is similar to minors in terms of size/height.
There is now updated to this new rules journal thanks to lots of feedbacks. Look at bottom section of this journal: https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10552819 for much further clarification. You guys don't need to be worry about it. Kobolds, gremlin, size play, shortstack beefs, and bunch of the others are completely safe from it. They just expanded existing policy of NSFW minors ban to now target on physical characteristic that really gives off as child in nsfw scenario. (Imo, it's a good thing because there is a big loophole in this existing policy. This new additional policy would closes down this loophole where it was bypassed).

Posted 2 years agoSince there is ongoing trend of Secret Drawing Box over Twitter and some of my friends as well mutuals joined. I decided to joined couple of days ago.
It's a hella fun experience! I eventually received about 12 and I made over 35 random sketches for them and my fav artists which is nice. (Until then when this trend to dry out and move on which I may drop back to not drawing mood again. My drawing mood is very very rare). ^^;

PanScolipede of more than 10 years passed away suddenly in hospital this afternoon due to undiagnosed until confirmed late-stage leukemia. It was out of sudden, taken away so soon, and i'm feeling utterly devastated...

Twitter screwed up once again this afternoon. Lmao
Posted 2 years agoSo... uh apparently this afternoon Twitter introduced another damaging ToS that prohibited users to promote links to the other website including competitor sites and linktree (It's now reversed but few still in place) resulting being banned from it. Trying to prevent Twitter users migrate from dying Twitter to new sites.
Jfc, that's like.... I have never seen like that in my entire life. What a friggin weak social media and so scared of their competitors. Lmao
That literally just crossed the line and burned the bridges. It resulted another rounds of massive influx to Mastodon and other social medias, Itaku, etc. Which lead me decided to slowly leaving Twitter starting 2023 one by one at a time until complete inactive. It's... exhausting every time CEO made a horrible decisions and it's not even 3 months in. LOL
So... i have other sites to follow me there if you guys have it! I still remains active here but it's good idea to spread the wings to other sites. Check it out at below. :P
