Sooo, FA just updated UI and changes after 17 years and.....
General | Posted 3 years agoHonestly? I have a mixed opinion about this.
UI have been changed by it looks, custom banner finally added in, avatar shape and comment/shout box style changed, moved around "home-gallery-etc" right under username, and monthly subscription FA+ were introduced as well furrified next to username (Just like Twitter verification).
Rest of others remained unchanged is general profile layout of galleries, favourite, watchers/watching, shout, and journal sections which is good thing. Settings option layout still the same so I'm not getting confused when it comes to editing profile.
Only few things I have criticized against these new changes is upload file size limit to only 10mb and no higher resolution and reupload original file size to get around compression 10mb size limit bug is patched (meaning you cannot do get around that limit anymore). Putting everything files upload higher than 10MB and high resolution behind FA+ paywall which is the shittiest move FA ever made and that will drive some artists even commissioners away from FA. Majority of artists today and their work file size tends to be 20mb in high resolution and higher than that nowadays which is why other art sites supported that in modern day.
It making Itaku.ee website 2x better than FA because you can upload tons of pictures in one post (perfect for comics and sequences to saves ton of times), you can upload 20MB and high resolution for free (Want upload much higher than that to 50mb/80mb even 500mb/1GB/2GB video? You can subscribe to Itaku's Patreon to access to those 3 tiers reward for $4.50/$7.50/$10usd a month.), you can upload 250mb video for free, better tagging system to filter out or follow it, etc. FA doesn't support video uploads at all and animation is dead cus of Flash ceased few years ago except GIF.
Lastly, you still CAN'T change username and there is no tagging/filter system as well yet in FA! Cmon! Tons of websites out there have that option for LONG YEARS and nothing new at all. Mastodon and Itaku already have that option as well which making FA looks dated and far behind from modern websites. FA is indeed stuck in 2005 system.
(Yes, I looked into FA+ and saw "Future Development Roadmap" there is username change, tag/fliter word out, and few others in development as higher priority which is good but for how long until they finally release? That is a big question since FA is slow at updating things.)

Recent Twitter situation and my new Mastodon account
General | Posted 3 years agoMainly due to Elon bought Twitter last week and there are signs of Twitter going downhill or dies in speed run already. It made uncertain for Twitter's future. Thanks to reports of almost 4,000 employees fired in most of job sectors including some IT (Why? It's critical to keep site up and running without broke into oblivion). There are other reports after meeting that Twitter is likely planning to be put behind paywall entirely instead of paying $8 for verification. (That would result of mass exodus if that ever happened. Most people aren't pay for it to Elon; they hated him obviously).
In result of that. I have made new Mastodon account recently this week just in case of Twitter implodes. Here's my Mastodon account:

General | Posted 3 years agoI have been thinking about to upload some of old sequence artworks and comics I haven't got around to upload at some point soon in the future. (Maybe or maybe not). Those are dated back in between 2012 to 2021. Main reasons why I haven't upload certain of old sequence artworks and comics is because of FA's upload system that you can only upload 1 at a time. I didn't felt like to upload due to very time consuming and lazy. Some of those left sitting in my files for years. Again, keep in mind... maybe I will upload some or not at all.
Another announcement is my 28th birthday will be upcoming soon at the end of October which is about 2.5 weeks are left. Time is surely went too fast... x.=.x

About my FA Note.
General | Posted 3 years agoAs of lately for the past couple of months to over a year that I received numerous of random FA notes from alot of random people I never met and none of them are within my friend circle as well mutuals. =o
So... I just wanted to let you all know that I'm not very responsive to most of FA notes, I don't do RPs at all, and not making more friends at this point unless something we have more in common interests. Only one thing I do communicate abit is commenting and replying back in artworks I posted if comments is worth for me to reply back or if I wanted to reply back to save some of my times. I don't have much of free time nowadays due to real life priorities, work life, chat alot with my close friends and mutual, very active on Twitter, and playing games alot. >.=.<;;;
**I normally reserved FA notes for communication with artists for commissions and some of my friends as well mutuals to keep in contact in case of their Telegram were lost or something emergency.** :x
I really hope you all will understands and please... please... please... don't take it personally or upset about it. There's ABSOLUTELY nothing wrong with you and I do think you all is truly wonderful people with alot of good potentials. Thank you very much for your time reading this and comments at anytime (I wish if FA have likes button option). ^.=.^

Some updates, my upcoming bday, and others

Firstly, My birthday is coming in in 2 weeks on Oct 29th and I will be turning 27 soon. I'm feeling old as it getting closer to 30... x.=.x
Secondly, I made 2nd account on Twitter ( https://www.twitter.com/ColinMintyDrake ) that is specifically for irl generals, SFW Artworks I got, ACNH/Fall Guys plus other game screenshots, random/shit posts, puns, and list so on to separate from my main account. Its basically SFW, game screenshots, and Irl account if anyone here interested. If you're not interested and rather to see nsfw/mature artworks I got on Twitter then follow my main account instead ( https://www.twitter.com/PeppermintDrake ).
Lastly, as of recently that I rarely reply back than used to be because I'm very active on Twitter and Telegram (only my friends and mutuals I knew well). I only replied to some people I knew and/or whenever I feels like need to reply back on FA. My activity on here is sorely lacked but I'm not going anywhere because I am still posting new artworks I got to FA. I'm no longer responsive to any random FA notes and reserved only to commission talks with artist. I just don't have much of free times nowadays and alot of account to handles so I prioritized Twitter and Telegeam as my major active source. General | Posted 4 years agoIt been 8 months since last time I posted this journal. I'm very active on Twitter via PeppermintDrake if you guys haven't followed me there.
Firstly, As of today that I just got 2nd dose of vaccination and I should be fully immunized by next 2 weeks. Finally, im happy about it and so ready for things slowly back to normal in the future. It been long time without be able to do what we used to be, my job suspended twice in early 2020 and early 2021 again but will be back to job this fall and my own traveling plans halted until end of this year or next year except within my country which is i'm planning to (Likely Niagara Falls as a good start of returning normalcy).
Secondly, my life has been pretty much bland since lockdowns several times, unable to travel, and out of job for months twice. I ended up playing some games over my Switch and Steam PC, watched videos, chat with some ppls, walking outside for 2 hours a day when weather is nice, and several minor things like cleaning up house to reorganized it again to kill times.
Lastly, bad news is that my cat recently passed away as of an hour ago by the time this journal posted. She was 15 and dealing with recently health failures and likely cancer. It was really hard to see her gone and no longer with us in home. Atleast, she is no longer in pains, anxiety, and suffering anymore as she is in better place.

Yes, Im finally back in artist mood

Yes, that is correct that I finally got back into drawing mood after 3 years hiatus last October. However, it's only for sketches because it's my main motivator and it keeps me in loops of drawings. To be able to produced more arts in sketch style and I opened those sketch commission slots over Twitter.
I decided not to post it here becuase... it just sketches. I mainly posted those over my twitter PeppermintDrake (18+ Only!)

- Joined fandom and made great friends.
- Quit gaming.
- Graduated High School (class of 2013).
- Studied in university.
- Got certificate for EA.
- Got job as an EA, B&A childcare, and EA again currently.
- Started travel around world on my own.
- Moved out from west to east Canada.
My decade goals for 2020s:
- Continue to travel around the world more.
- Visit to US more for west coasts and Atlantic Canada I havent touched yet.
- Try to go to workout again (hopefully).
- Continue to work as an EA for years to come.
- Start living on my own in apartment (Maybe? Will see about it when it comes to money and cost of living since its pretty expensive)

General | Posted 7 years agoIt may be pretty early to celebrate New Years but I will be flying out tomorrow to Houston for my 7 days New Year cruise trip to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel from Galveston this Sunday. Which is meaning I wont be active very much during my cruise trip due to no signal at sea and only avaliable wifi/signal at each ports but I will be busy having fun this trip.
My 2018 highlights:
- Visited Toronto during May long weekend.
- Traveled to London, Paris and Rome for 10 days last July. It was memorable and amazing trip I have ever had.

General | Posted 8 years agoMy life experience in 2017 was pretty interesting and big event. However I summarized positives about 2017 which is not alot but moving was a big one:
- Got a full time job last Feb until Aug.
- Moved out from Calgary to Kingston from west to east Canada.
- Went on city to city road trip to visit during cross country moving.

- Got a job for part time since last November.
That's all archives I did in 2017. In conclusion that year of 2017 was fairly good but not quite decent. ^^'

- Got a full time job last Feb until Aug.
- Moved out from Calgary to Kingston from west to east Canada.
- Went on city to city road trip to visit during cross country moving.

Today is my 23rd Birthday!

My life in new hometown and my 23rd birthday upcoming!

It been 3 months since last time I posted journal but that's mainly becuase I'm more active on Twitter nowadays for constantly posting pics, my status and random stuffs. :3 ( For any new watchers here wanted to know what's my twitter. Here's the update about my life in new hometown Kingston, Ontario, Canada that we moved here from Calgary, Alberta, Canada last month of August 15th. We got in new home on August 17th and it was crazy busy for last couple of weeks of renovation for readjust plus tear down walls, changed flooring, and installed fireplace. All of our own furnitures and personal stuffs finally settled down in our new home to makes it feels like home. Everything is actually pretty went well. We visiting to checking it out neighborhoods, our local conversation parks, waterfront of Lake Ontario to walk around and chilling, walking around downtown area for local shops and restaurants and lastly attractions there that I'm gonna check it out. This city is pretty much went beyond of my expectations. It's small city but it have everything we needs which is I'm happy about it. This city is definitely recommended if any of you are planning to moving or come over here to visit.
We don't have a job here yet but we will be getting it fairly soon. Atleast I have employment insurance that I will be able to get paycheck until get a job.

And... lastly, in only about bit less than 5 weeks until my birthday on October 29th that's when I will be turning 23! Oh boooooy.
