Total submissions received in 24 hours: 64
Avg Submissions per hour: ~2.7
Submissions rated G: 21 (32,8%)
Submissions rated M: 5 (7,8%)
Submissions rated A: 14 (21,8%)

And what I actually wanted to find out:
Advertisement submissions (YCH, open commission announcement etc.): 24 (37,5%)

This totally scientific research was brought to you by a fox who barely passed his maths studies on Senior High.

My curiosity of the ratio between actual submissions and ad submissions has been satisfied.

So yeah, I'm doing my long-overdue school thesis on Furry conventions and what makes them successful, but I need some help:

I need as many reputable sources regarding the fandom and it's affairs as I can. And I'm sure I wont find them all on my own, and I'd hate to miss any great material.

Last time I bothered to throw together a journal, it was pre EF and I'm pleased to report that EF was awesome as always :)

Why I'm writing this journal, is the fact that thanks to some persuasion from friends, I decided to join them on MFF this year!

So, I'm asking you, my dear followers who've been to MFF, to give me your thoughts on the con! What it's like, anything to watch out for, tips, tricks or whatever! I've never experienced a con beyond the scale of EuroFurence (2700 attendees) before so I trying to prep the best I can beforehand, so I can avoid any unpleasant surprises!

This is also my first time in the new world! :D I didn't expect to visit the US before next year's anthrocon, so I'm really excited to go a country I've never been in before! I've got the US travel stuff sorted out, and I've consulted with a bunch of american friends on things to be mindful of over there, but if you feel like there's something you want to share about my travel destination; go right ahead!

Greetings my dear stalkers!

I should've done this journal a long time ago, but because of IRL stuff and my general laziness I'm only doing it now.

So yeah, 2016. Let's get the negative stuff out of the way first.

Probably the biggest single thing in 2016, was the passing of my dear Finnish grandfather. You don't really need to know the nitty-gritty of it, but needless to say, that his death completely reset the status-quo we've been living in for a really long time now. There's lots of bureaucracy and other stuff related to death and inheriting things in this country that I need deal with in the coming months. Then there was the whole ordeal of arranging his funeral. Thankfully our family is really small, so it wasn't as big of a deal as I expected. Rarely when I wish for a day to end quickly, but grandpa's funeral day was one of those. The whole funeral went as well as a funeral could, thankfully. Be at peace gramps! ;__;

I've also recently realised that I've become mentally really tired of school in general. The feeling started setting in during January last year, when the initial plans for writing my thesis flopped. I seriously fail to see the damn point of busting my ass with this "oh-so-scientific" thesis process to write a 60 page thing that nobody will care about after it has been completed. It just feels like a thing you have to do just for the sake of doing it. I'm not an academic thus, I'm inherently incompatible with doing something this abstract. I've done a thesis once before, and I'm not going through the bullshit process again. Also, from working in the same field I'm studying, I've become increasingly aware of the fact that I don't actually like this line of work that much and forcing myself to do this would just break my brain eventually. Also, graduating from this school is no guarantee of work anyway, so I'm seriously considering putting my studies on ice.

Now, let's balance out the negativity with more positive thing that happened in 2016!

As usual, I've had a real blast at the furry conventions I was able to attend that year, I met some great people and made new friends. The fact that I got my fursuiting cherry popped this year, is probably one of the highlights of the con-year. I've also spent a lot of quality time with my family and my buddies despite me living so far away from most of my friends. I've had the pleasure of supporting a lot of great artists through commissions and it's also been fun joint-commissioning stuff with my buddies! The received commissions have been such delights to my eyes and I hope that you, as my followers, feel the same.

2016 also gave lots of awesome new games: DOOM, XCOM 1-2, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada, My summer Car (Seriously check this one out) etc. Despite me noticing that I play less games than I used to, the ones I've been playing I've very thoroughly enjoyed. My project cars in the garage have also been coming together really nicely during 2016 and I'm really happy with the work I've put into them.

And now for the big bomb: I've applied to become an airline pilot. A job that I've dreamed about since I was a kit. In late 2016 our national airline advertised its lack of pilots, so I sent them my papers and I'm happy to say that I've passed the initial selection process. It's still too early to break out the champagne though, I've still a medical exmination, Airline interview, Police interview and the psychological tests to pass. Should I be selected for the course, I will have to move far away from my beloved home hamlet, but I've come to the grips with the reality that if I want to fulfill my dreams, I can't keep living in the middle of the forest forever. The training will set me back quite a substantial sum, but the airline guarantees work for those who pass the training, so it's a risk I'm willing to take. The employment prospects to a profession that I'd actually want, are way better than those of my current school. I'll keep you posted on how this goes!

So yeah! 2016, lots of bad, but lots of good too! I can't say that I've particularly liked the year, but I can't say that I completely hate it either.

I'm gonna warn you off the bat, right now, that this journal is gonna be a way more melancholic than usual.

I usually avoid posting these kinds of journals, since I want to keep my channel generally positive and/or informative, but the latest events struck me too hard to keep to myself. And I belive that sharing hardships makes coping with them easier.

Tl:dr. My very dear grandfather passed away very recently and I'm very sad.

He was a fighter till the very end. I heard the same diagnosis I heard the day before yesterday from the hospital staff 7 years ago and stayed optimistic, but I was wrong. All the fighting finally wore grandpa out and he lost the battle against disease and age.

Yeah, grandpa fox is not longer with us. I can't relay via the medium of words how much I appreciate all the things he did and all the things he thought to me while I was but a kid.

He was the ultimate emodyment of an old-gang trucker, but the millions of kilometers he drove finally caught up with him. The veteran trucker reached his last pit stop.

I feel guilty for having been at party. And for having a really good time with my mates at the local pub while gramps was at death's door.

Know that your grandson appreciates every single second you spent with him.

I should've done this journal days ago, but because I had lots of work post EF and because I got lazy during my days off, I'm only doing it now.

So yeah, EF was great as always! I never tire of arriving at the Estrel and the hotel's starting to feel like a second home to me now. I met with lots of old friends and made a bunch of awesome new ones! You know who you are!

I loved this year's theme to bits and the con shirt was the best one up to now in my mind. I also changed up my con schedule a little bit from last year, by going to the art auction instead of watching Enter the arena. The art auction had an excitement factor of its own and after I won a particular awsome piece, I felt like I was going to have a damned heart attack and had to craw to to the bar to strengthen compsure a little bit. I really wish I could've been at both the auction and the Dance Competition at the same time. Momma fox at home keeps pestering me for dance videos but I don't have any to show! If you know of clips filmed at the Enter the arena event, please point me at them. I heard the standard was pretty damn high this year.

I also did a little stand-up comedy thing at the open mic event and judging from the feedback, people seemed to like my stupid bullshit. I might do something like this again next year!

One personal highlight for me was the fact that one piece that I commissioned from Kashmere went to the Voice auction!!11! I fan girl'd so hard when that happened.

The dead dog party was the craziest I've ever been to. The DJ was hyper awesome and people went nuts. There was a dude with a car costume "running over" fursuiters, a cat in a box, a lightsaber, a hobbit, some crazy drunk guy with an air guitar... oh wait that was me. Whoopsie!

The weather was alright too, not too hot, and not too cold. Some fursuiters I know might disagree with me on this, but atleast for me it was quite alright on most days, if a little humid towards the end.

Only thing worth griping about was the fact that my return bus in Finland was chock full and had to sit uncomfortably for almost 4 hours in a bus with a broken AC. And I had to pay almost 30€s for that pleasure. Damn that bus trip to hell...

My sincerest thanks to all the con staff and volunteers who made this con a reality and the highlight of my year again. Also, big thanks and the best of wishes to my friends because, without them, this party would've been a hell of a lot less fun.

The Evil Fox awaaaay....!

Hello my dear followers and stalkers.

After the recent events I had some trouble with my account recovery, but I'm here now! During the downtime, I realised how much I use this site, since the downtime was almost compareable to withdrawal symptoms sometimes as I seemed to forget that other furry sites exist as well. Also FYI, in the case you didn't notice, I've reuploaded a bunch of the same artwork that I had before the downtime.

Speaking of other furry sites, I got bored during the downtime and branched out to FurryNetwork with the same name. I don't have any artwork there yet, but I will when they get the gallery transfer system back up again. No way I'm manually uploading all of my stuff for the third time. The site seems to be pretty hip right now and from what little experience I have, I actually like it a lot. I've been on Weasyl for a while now, but I figured that it would make sense to spread yourself around a little bit more.

Oh yeah, and in case you were wondering; I'm not going anywhere from FA, atleast not until something major happens. I've established myself here too well to just suddenly take off. I can't say that I'm content with the things that transpired recently, but hey; it's a lot better that something worse! :)
