Posted 9 years agoWell I haven't done a monthly journal in a while...
Nothing much going on. I work. I eat. I sleep. Trying to write a little bit every now and then. Trying to draw a little. I'm also hoping I can go ahead with saving up for FWA 2017. I'd REALLY love to go!
Also still trying to get a few commission a little at a time. I've got like 3 reference sheets to commission eventually.

Here is my monthly journal that I'm apparently doing now.
I have a new Asus laptop with 6GB RAM and I have started playing Undertale, whooooot!
Also, our little kitten has been renamed "Glitch".
Bills slapped us pretty hard in the face this months mostly due to the errors of EPB online pay. If you ever get the chance to get their internet, I highly recommended doing do, but DO NOT pay online! It's better to pay over the phone or something else. Their online pay is seriously flawed and now I have to pay $260+ on my internet because of it.
Also I'm still trying to save up for a small art tablet as well as a RetroN 3 console. It may take a few weeks... I was still hoping to look for commissions, but once again, it will have to wait.

First off, there's no way Fuzzball will ever be replaced. She's been my fursona for many years, and I've never not felt a connection with her. This is just a thought I've had... if I was a male furry, who would I be?
Same colors, but different species. I was thinking along the lines of Eurasian Lynx and Caracal. I dunno, just a silly thought.

Kree is a multi-talented artist. At the moment, due to limited supplies, he does a lot of traditional sketching and coloring. Trust me, though, his digital work is also beautiful! He's also done wonderful crochet work and yarn tails in the past (I still have the one he made me!)
Dissy is a strictly-SFW artist. She does mostly headshots, but here full art is amazingly lovely! And how can you resist those big squishy noses?!
Year 2015 - Life Updates

Money
The mate has started his job at Lowe's as an assembly worker. He is very happy with it as he is able to work with his hands building grills and such; I'm very happy for him! First paycheck was very sad, though, because of orientation being so close to pay day, he was only paid for a couple of hours. The second will also not be a "full" one due to more orientation days followed by a full working week (he gets paid biweekly). A LOT of his paychecks are going into savings so we can hopefully get moved out of my grandparents by this summer.
Housing
As I said, we're still living with my grandparents in our little room. With tight budgeting and good work ethic, we hope that his (seasonal) job becomes permanent and we will have enough saved to find a place by July. We just gotta hold tight until then...
School
I've decided to go back to college for web development. I've already been admitted for fall semester, I just gotta get y financial aid straightened out. I like to do things ahead of time!
Time
At the moment, I take my mate to work, then I go to the library or somewhere else to pass the time. We are typically in town all day and arrive home close to 5 p.m. I eat, I shower, and I usually try to be in bed by 8 or 9 p.m. so I can be up at 4:30 a.m. to make breakfast and get ready to get him to work by 7 a.m. Even though I'm away from home more often, it hasn't affected my social life, but only because it was almost non-existent anyway. XD I do hope to maybe get a temporary job, from March to July/August to get some extra cash before I start school.
Spending
As much as I would LOVE to, I can't commission artwork right now. If I do, it will be very seldom done. Anything my mate gives me each paycheck will go back to help me save for some pet rats when we move out. I have a cage, but the water bottle and wheel I had previously are old and dirty, so if they aren't already, I'll be throwing them out and getting new supplies, including a cute hammock!

Posted 11 years agoHis test came back negative. I almost hit the floor with joy but I just hugged my fiance instead.
So he got his vaccinations and a cortisone shot for his flea allergy. Gonna spray the room and brush him more to keep those mean parasites off him.
Also, on another note... I need to do a "journal clear out". Because I like to keep things "neat". >w>

Posted 11 years agoToday, my Etrius has en extremely important appointment with the vet. He has been losing his hair and weight, and I'm so scared he's going to be positive for FeLV...
My fiance and I had originally gotten him for our apartment to keep as an inside cat. Unfortunately, after he lost his job and we couldn't pay rent anymore, we had to move to my grandparents. Despite our objections, they insisted we teach him to go outside, and within a few months he was a mostly outdoor cat. Even worse, since we had no money we couldn't have him neutered at the time.
Finally we brought him back in to try to re-teach him to be an indoors cat (we were sure we were going to move out soon, but alas, we didn't). That's when he began to get sickly. I swore it was because he was depressed or stressed, but I wanted him to be checked anyway. The vet was very straightforward. His lymph nodes were enlarged, so FeLV is a strong possibility. I just want to swear it can't be that, because if it was, the other two outdoor cats would have it too (and both of them are very healthy).
I can't help but feel I have failed as a pet parent. I should have never allowed them to push him out, especially not before we had the chance to neuter him. I am so scared that I am going to lose my baby...

foxentine was a young and kind man who had nothing but good things to say to me whenever we talked. He even allowed me and a friend to stay in his home during RCFM in 2012. Unfortunately, his widowed wife kreejay is having to deal with this, having been married to him only 3 months when this tragedy struck. Please keep her and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
