A nerdy-ass fanboy question-
General | Posted 16 years agoPlease excuse me, but I'd really love to know if anyone here knows enough about the music in Cowboy Bebop to help me find a specific song-
It starts around 1:33 in the following youtube link, and cuts out very quickly. I've listened to samples of the official Cowboy Bebop CDs I've seen online and it isn't on either of them.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqERpbrRAvU
Thanks to everyone who reads this, and thanks to anyone who might know the title of the song. I'd be fine with buying it if that's how it's available.

A newish meme, I think..
General | Posted 16 years agoAka the new year's meme! After seeing Digi-bruv' do it I decided to have a go at it. Now then-
1. Was 2009 a good year for you?
As good as any other, I have absolutely halfassed perception of time, and only tend to know seasons by temperature and visual cues. Only through great effort do I recall what month it is to record which one I am paying/have payed rent for ^.^;
2. What was your favorite moment of the year?
Moments are even MORE fleeting to me, so I couldn't say which one I liked most ^o^;
3. What was your least favorite moment of the year?
Again, limited time perception ^.^
4. What are your plans for 2010?
- Continue working steadily and consolidating my finances to be ready for any emergency(particularly because I have a very old vehicle).
- Work harder on the flexibility of my style, something I've had mixed luck on throughout my efforts
- To stop bothering with listing the music I listen to and links if applicable- It has proven dreadfully effort consuming and the responses have been unenthusiastic at best >.>
5. What countries did you visit?
America, America, and also America- Lord how I travel, a travel monger this mallard ^0^
6. What date in 2009 will remain etched in your memory?
Ummmmmm... Today I suppose, until I forget today too ^0^;;
7. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Wising up about music shopping, both in buying individual songs rather than whole albums that I wouldn't end up using completely and in recording youtube music.
8. What was your biggest failure?
Never quite patching things up with my digestion(tmi, I know), mainly by having no real control over my sleep schedule.
9. Did you suffer any illness or injury?
Nothing important enough to recall.
10. What was the best thing you bought?
Without a doubt, the Nu-wave oven(if that was this year and not last, I forget ^.^;).
11. Who's behavior made you appalled and depressed?
After I learned more about it, the behavior of the owning class of America >.<
12. Where did most of your money go?
I'm sorry if I come off as smug while saying this but-
- The bank
- Bills
- Groceries, dining out once every week or two
13. What did you get really really really excited about?
MOAR MUSIC!
14. What songs will always remind you of 2009?
Odna Kalyna \^o^/

a) Fatter or thinner? Roughly the same.
b) Happier or sadder? Slightly happier.
c) Richer or poorer? About the same I think.
16. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Spending time outdoors >.>;
17. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Laying awake in bed, mostly because of muscular discomforts.
18. How will you be spending New Year's eve?
Awake, and asleep, alternating ^0^

If trying out new variations on my art style counts, then at least 5 ^w^
22. What was your favorite TV show?
River Monsters!
23. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, and I have an important message about that- Hate is a COMMITMENT. Before any of you reading this journal let that word enter your mind about someone, please ask yourself the following; Is it really worth the anger and effort to hate them? Remember that all the anger you direct toward them is anger you won't have to tackle the rest of life's problems with!
24. What was/were the best books you read?
Thieves in High Places by Jim Hightower, it really awoke me to the class warfare that we the working class have leveled against us.
25. What was your greatest musical discovery?
So many.. can't recall...
26. What did you want and get?
Almost all of my non musical wants were passing fancies that I quickly forgot. The only ones that I can clearly recall are the remainig collectable cards of the Australia Zoo that came in the Zoogle gummy candy bags(got the last of them now) and the remaining DVDs of the "Roughnecks: Starship Troopers Chronicles" series(On order).
27. What did you want and not get?
I don't think of such things as important- Once I know I'm not getting it I find something more important to think about.
28. What was your favorite film this year?
Didn't have one.
29. What did you do on your birthday and how old were you?

-shrug-
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
The same as it's been for at least 2 years ^0^
32. What kept you sane?
Sane.. that's a pretty strong word to be using in reference to modern life...
33. Which celebrity did you fancy the most?
No one.
34. Which political issue stirred you the most?
Social Security being emptied out like it was someone's personal piggy bank TnT
35. Who did you miss?
Miss? All the people who matter to me see me often enough to keep me satisfied.
36. Did you treat somebody badly in 2009?
That's an incredibly stupid question. My best answer is as follows; Not solely for the purpose of being mean.
37. Did somebody treat you badly in 2009?
Again, incredibly stupid question. So long as any person who thinks differently than myself exists there will be people who I think treated me badly, if only because their way of expressing themselves was contradictory to what I view as proper self expression.
38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned this year?
Electronic equipment takes up electricity when the power is off- To truly stop it from using power you must either unplug it or have it connected to a power strip and turn the power strip off. This has saved me at least 10 dollars a month in electricity, probably closer to 15.
39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year...
The kids in Bristol are sharp as a pistol when they do~ the Bristol stomp, really is something when the joint is jumping when they do~ the Bristol stomp! Doesn't tell you much does it ^o^?
1. Was 2009 a good year for you?

A new meme based journal product!
General | Posted 16 years agoIt slices, it dices- it makes julienne binary coding! More to the point, a meme I've chosen to do here after seeing Styx do it and participating in the questionage, here we go:
Reply to this journal and:
1. I'll respond with something random about you.
2. I'll tell you which song or movie you remind me of.
3. I'll pick a flavor of jello to wrestle you in.
4. I'll say something that only makes sense to you and me.
5. I'll tell you my first memory of you.
6. I'll tell you what animal you remind me of.
7. I'll ask you something I've always wondered about you.
8. I'll tell you my favorite thing about you.
9. I'll tell you my least favorite thing about you.
10. If you play, you MUST post this on yours. (Maybeh)
I'll do my best, most likely tomorrow, to answer those questions asked. For now, I should really try and get ready to sleep soon, working later... Toodles ^u^/

**10 QUESTIONS TO GRILLING YOU**
General | Posted 16 years agoGrey's very own written meme! You know this is gonna be good ^W^ First let me tell you about the title; It's a parody of one of the Bleach comics called "4 arms to killing you". It was such a hilariously shitty translation that I instantly fell in love with it. Second, about the word "grilling", to those who are only somewhat familier with the secondary uses of English this use of grilling means "To question without mercy or any manners".
Now then, here's the meme
1) What is your self-character's lifestyle vs. yours, and why?
2) What makes you like a character?
3-8) How do you imagine your artist friends when you see their characters?
-)
-)
-)
-)
-)
9) What is the core nature of your eroticism?
10) What is the biggest obstacle to your artistry?
I'll say the tag requirement is two people...
I'll go first now.
1) My character, while representing a lot of exact behaviors of mine in real life, is the exact opposite in terms of being an extrovert(people person) rather than an introvert(solitary person). I always want him to do what I cannot and reach out to touch people.
2) Intensity, and uniqueness. To put it very simply I want them to be completely just them and no-one else, and I want them to scream it out loud with their image and actions. DO NOT mistake this for saying I like those shitty rainbow furred fucks or characters with a billion different markings TnT
3)
tehweenus , through his character Minus strikes me as the consummate horror fan. I actually have a lot in common between my characters and his though my intensity is rarely sharpened to the needle point that is horror.
4)
digisushi , through his character Yamikari strikes me as the playful young person who always seeks to be in the center of a big gathering of friends.
5)
styxandstoned , through her character Styx strikes me as the discontented, or nonconformist type; Yes we all know how much shit our world is, but most of us try not to talk about it. She is that 1 in some odd thousand who is never afraid to talk about it.
6)
k-puz - Did someone say chu? Don't stop get it get it, don't stop pika-hit it! Seriously though this fella is among the best people to know. I have yet to come across anyone else who holds such a commitment to the positive feelings of others, and I sincerely hope he gets to have just many for himself ^U^<3<3<3
7)
gabe , through both Gab and Gabe strikes me as the outgoing porn fan. He tends to have fairly specialized interests but he's adaptable to just about anything and will love ya just the same ^U^<3
8)
jaeh , through Jaeh and Busty Bird strikes me as the DC comics/pizza/boob loving fraternity guy. Call him up for a great party, but be ready to clean up the boxes in the morning ^0^;;;
9) After everything's said and done, and all the fetishes I know of explored, I'd say it all comes down to muscular contraction for me. As for external visible traits I like I mix between lean muscle and soft flesh, anywhere between 70%muscle/30% soft and 20%muscle/80% soft, though I tend more often to favor lean muscle over softness. Finally as for colors, either pink/red or dark blue/black are my favorites in such situations.
10) Pressure TnT Anything that makes me feel like I have to do art instead of wanting to do art drains my inspiration, and since I'm feeling in a brutally honest mood - Lynneth, THAT MEANS YOU! "You should draw more boobs/revealing views/whateverthehell" is not comment, it's a childish demand!

1. What does your FurAffinity name mean and why?
Thegrey, because Grey was taken ROFL.. Seriously though, originally the name represented that I -never- -ever- used color, and drew in pencil which always looked like dusty grey rather than black and white. Also I tend to like the British spelling of grey vs. American style gray.
2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into now?
None, Id gotten through that phase by the time I arrived here though not by very long...
3. How many watchers do you have now?
I refuse to answer garbage questions like this, people who actually waste the time to wonder whether they're popular or not will inevitably lose a lot of valuable time on it that they could be using to learn how to enjoy their life.
4. Name 3 of your favorite artists on FA.
Another garbage question.. if a good friend really wants to know then I can tell them by PM
5. Do you comment, fav, or both?
Both, of course
6. Do you participate in clubs' contests here on FA?
No, only close artist friends and even then rarely.
7. What is your most popular submission?
Three garbage questions already...
8. What are your favorite non-anime TV shows?
The Simpsons, and River Monsters
9. What are the things you wish you could draw better?
I know this'll piss some people off, but seriously, nothing- Don't get me wrong now, I know my art style has endless flaws. My goal is to reach the highest enjoyment of creating art possible, because in hindsight I realize that even my most beautiful works will only be images on paper after the pen has left the page.
10. Summer or winter?
Winter, I can always add layers when I'm cold, when I'm hot I'm just plain screwed >.>
11. Rain or Sun?
Rain. Air quality is above all else to me, and with rain my breathing and skin are refreshed.
12. What's your favorite type of music?
World, and to be more specific here are my three most loved styles; Gypsy, Klezmer, and two styles from France; Chanson and Musette.
13. PC or Mac?
PC
14. Anime or Manga?
Manga
15. Coke or Pepsi?
Neither
16. Read or TV?
A little from column A, a little from column B..
17. How many hours a day do you spend on FA?
Depends on the day..
18. Name a hidden talent.
Hm, I think all of my talents have been shown to various different people by now so unless I find a new one nothing is truly hidden.
19. Flash or traditional cartoons?

digisushi1.

To catch up a little-
General | Posted 16 years agoI am uploading a dozen or so images to clear out some of the extra folders- I didn't think about it much but as my inspiration has been going lately, I produce a lot more than my one upload a day rate can keep up with ^.^; Have fun kids!
An odd question-
General | Posted 17 years agoI fairly recently bought a CD with a song that really inspires me, but I can't think of a character that can shape the sound. It's track 5 on the following link-
http://www.arcmusic.co.uk/shop/from.....ine-p-668.html
I'd imagine someone small and bubbly or a chibi of some sort. Thanks, and good day!

General | Posted 18 years agoHmmm, okay so I've been tagged by Dusty and I'm not quite so savvy with how this thing's done... Errr uhm.. Well, the live journal entry is on my front page in Dusty's shout out..
Blah blah blah post rules (?), yadda yadda, need to write 8 interesting little things about myself, etc etc tag 8 other people (also ?).
Let me state before all else that I've been pretty average and safe (aka -booooring-) in my life so far, so I think I'll just highlight a few interesting points.
1) My eyes are just between blue and green (slightly more green) with a ring of either bronze, or even gold in the center. I've been told in some cases that my eyes look blue, which leads me to believe that under some circumstances my eyes change to a more blue-ish color.
2) On a whim I decided to get a nail filing+buffing kit a long time ago- to this day, whenever I feel my nails are too cracked and such (About every 4+ months) I not only trim them, but also do a fullscale smoothing and buffing job on them (It feels sooo nice having smooth beautiful nails ^0^;).
3) I have veeery sharp hearing (Not always detailed to interpret words) and for that reason I take 2-5 hours to force my body to shut down and sleep.
4) I truthfully, and honest to goodness believe that I have the most perfect natural curly hair ever ^0^; Of course I believe there are manufactures that look nicer...
5) I've been mistaken (from behind ) for a woman before ^w^ It was by a person doing a survey at a mall. She said "would either of you ladies be interested in taking a survey (etc" I thought it was delightful since I don't wear anything or any stylings to make myself look feminine ^o^
6) I don't remember a single time that I've finished a full glass of anything alchoholic- My body is so sensitive to it that just tasting it makes my senses go on poison alert.
7) I see what i am planning on drawing on a page before I put lines to it- the lines don't end up like what I envisioned though ^.^;
8) When I llok at someone else's art, my eyes retrace the lines, effectively reverse engineering other people's finished lines into the elements that are compatible with my style- that's how my style adapts to form new ones.
Bonus) Did you know that my style orginally started out as a way to emulate CAPCOM's Darkstalkers art style? It took me a long time to realize that I wasn't capable of doing Darkstalkers style perfectly, and that's the only reason I even bothered to keep a free form art style. "If i can't do one style like a photograph, then what if I can't do any other's perfectly either?" ^.^
Anyway, I gotta figure out how to link other people here before I tag them....
