How long has it been since I said anything on here, over five years? x.x I'm really out of touch huh? That said it might not change too much but that's not the reason for my sudden update.

On December 26th, 2015 a string of tornados blew through north Texas. In Rowlett one of them was an EF4 and damaged several homes beyond repair. I was one of those hit by said tornado and things have been a whirlwind since. I've had to move twice in less than a month time in between and have had to do what I can to survive. Me and my wife are still alive but we've all been shaken up by this.

I'm not asking for donations or anything, in fact if anyone were to donate to me I'd honestly might use it for something selfish as I've not done anything of the sort in a long while. I do urge people to donate to the relief fund for tornado victims.

I feel like a lazy jerk, seriously I haven't updated in forever, not even for a prompt. Ugh, where to begin? Let's just say shit happens and leave it at that. Too much personal drama and headaches.

At the very least I'm getting back into TSA, I promised myself I would finish it by the end of last year and I look now and this year is now more than half over.

It took reformatting my hard drive but I'm back on. Got a lot to do but I got back-ups and everything. I've got a lot to catch up on now too, I'm just glad my messages are under 9000. :P

Bad news all, I suspect my comp has a mean virus. Symtoms are that it messes up my browser and disallows me from viewing webpages, my AVG cannot seem to identify the problem. Right now I can only access sites through usesage of other computers.

If anyone has ideas for solutions I'd like to hear them. I'll check back every other day but for the most part, I'm fucked.

Mainly personal issues have been keeping me away, I haven't touched a prompt or any of my main stories for the longest time. I'm starting to feel terrible with how things have been getting these days. Okay a little something about population some people should note (Tenza probably knows more about this than I do but someone has to voice things.) Here in the bay area(of which I live) we have only hundreds of thousands of people. Down in LA county and SoCal there are MILLIONS!

As far as voting power goes SoCal has a two to one(or more!) vote than the bay area. In the bay area prop 8 was defeated hands down; in LA it was a far different story.

Why do I say this? I say it out of fairness; so the whole state isn't to blame for the stupid voting populace of our southerners, (Irony?!)

Still prop 8 is something that shouldn't have existed in the first place and even though it seems to have passed I hold out hope that it will be challenged openly and protested with every opportunity until it is overturned. It was wrong that it passed, it creates a 'separate but equal' law that treats human beings as lesser, but I'm fully positive it won't last as a law. Something will derail it, it's only a matter of time and struggling for what is right.

Keep fighting for what is right, keep working for full equality.

Since I've been doing profiles for all my chars I've updated my front page to each of them which includes the older ones as well. I'll add more as more come along but I've got the majority down.

Apparently you people thought my last submission was halfway decent. Y'all are crazy. :P Seriously though I might do other sketches again and try to develop some art skill. Who knows I might submit more in the future, maybe a gift art or two.

On another note I think I know what I want to do with my sci-fi ideas and that might lead to mainstream publication. Thus for those who wanted to donate races I can't in good conscience take said donations.

History: Cassandra has had a rough life from the start. Born blind in the middle kingdoms of two harem slaves who were forced to mate she was doomed to follow her parents footsteps as nothing but a slave and breeder. However she was found by a man named Lucian Mordecai who sensed something about her and knew she could be more. He snuck into the palace where she was held and stole her from the slavers; she was only six then.

Mordecai then did his best to teach her to tap into the power of sorcery, to reach into her potential and become more over time. Over the years when she reached her 15th birthday though he found himself drawn to her and tried to convince her to be his lover; rather forcefully. This did not blow over as planned and before he knew it his student's power became so great that it nearly broke every bone in his body.

After the incident of nearly killing her teacher she left and eventually found her way to a ship headed for Reme. Once she arrived she asked to join the military and after enough deliberation she was deemed to have enough talent to enter the academy at the age of 18. During her academy years she had proven to be a talented and dedicated student despite her disability. In that time she came to know and befriend two others, Gren and Tazen, knowing them as brothers despite Gren's romantic advances.

Eventually they left the academy but kept in loose contact until the Galdarus incident. Once Gren was reported to have deserted post her old friendship with him became loathing. She continued her service to the empire though without letting that distract her.

Personality: Kacey can be anything from quiet and distant to rather social. Her blindness makes her rather aloof and almost uncaring. Due to her lack of sight she belives actions and doing speaks more than words and she doesn't value much of whatever people say and has a hard time believing most things; lies are even worse. All her other senses are enhanced to levels most others could never comprehend making her able to smell the faintest scents or hear a heartbeat from across the room; even her senses of touch and taste are well beyond most mortal limits.

Since she made lieutenant commander she has been assigned to the inquiry department for the fact she has a telepathy spell. Telepathy however can be a dangerous tool; as long as the subjects cooperate she most likely will only have to delve the surface thoughts, but when she is faced with the more forceful ones she had to dig into their minds to find the info she's looking for. This has painful side effects for her but also lethal ones for the subject. She so far had two subjects she reduced to blabbering idiots through this spell, three she put into a coma, and one she tore the brain apart of which resulted in his death. Due to the fact she delves into the minds of criminals often she has to undergo psychological evaluations weekly to make sure she remains fit for duty. So far her evaluations say her sanity is within acceptable deviations.

This is concerning the "Porn vs. not porn" issue that I believe has been beat to death with it's own ripped off leg but it got my mind working so lets smack that horse a few more times.

As I've said in the spawning journal itself I agree... to a point. There is a lack of creativity but I don't think porn is exactly to blame for said lack. I also don't think it's as "big" as the overblown estimates and analogies used in said journal.

An excerpt from my post there:
I believe this applies to a lot more than just artist, but I'm also of the opinion all 'art' is art; pornographic or not. Of course there is bad art (see Sonic clones) and it takes time to find some good gems.

This is something I've been saying a lot; all art is art and all people who express themselves creatively are artist.
Writers are artist.
Musicians are artist.

Said journal has written in it that we're sitting on a "fuckton" of potential in this fandom and we aren't using it. I don't think that's entirely true. I think a number of us do have that potential and ideas that use it; in other words the potential lies in each specific person; not just everyone here. Translate that how you will.

Reading the journal itself I believe there's too much generalizations, drama, elitism, and "The Blame Game" being played here. But that's what this is about; it's not really about "porn vs. non-porn" it's about a few people blaming everyone else here because it 'seems' everyone else does better with porn than they do with purely clean works.

So the question is: "Is the fandom obsessed with porn?" AbsoFUCKINGlutely. However I say this is a HUMAN condition, not just furry. I say this because you can't go too far in the Internet itself without tripping over a porn site at some point. One of the base instincts in the human animal is that of reproduction; you can't say, "Oh Canadians are sexual deviants because the figures say they have more sex than US citizens." No, nonono and NO! First off the culture isn't as repressive about sexuality as the US, and secondly it's really fucking cold up there; what else are you going to do? Play billiards?

That said I think a few people need a reality check on the subject as a whole.

First off those that ask the question: "Why does porn get more comments views?"
Reality check: Sex sells, no denying it, but I ask if it's crappy porn will it get the same result? No. Everyone has their own taste; this applies to both erotic artwork/literature/music(Hey there are some song with an adult theme) and 'clean' artwork/literature/music. I believe there's enough people around here who look for quality not just whether there's tits(or dick if you prefer) or not.

Secondly the question: "Why is porn commissioned more?"
Reality check: See the phrase "Sex sells". As I have said the instinct to breed exist within the human animal; now this doesn't apply to everyone (there are people who are asexual, there are also people with strong enough will to control that urge to think rationally.) But in most people the instinct is there.

Third and last question: "Why doesn't 'clean' art sell?"
Reality check: It actually does; IF there's quality to it. And don't give me the "Only on rare occasion" argument; that one doesn't float. The fact is it does and if you really look people DO buy clean commissions.

Now I remember awhile back Tenza wrote that us furry writers needed to heal ourselves and get over our internal fighting and lambasting of each other and self-absorbed agendas, but I'm starting to see it applies to a few people from artist land as well.

So what's the cure for lack of creativity? Create what you imagine what you desire; whether it be visual art, literary art, or audio art. Just make whatever makes you happy, and if that something can give you a little money on the side than that's well and good; whether it be clean or porn.

I lightly agree we have a lack of creativity, though think it's not just the fandom.
I VERY STRONGLY disagree that porn is the scourge of the fandom.

Orthis is far more patient than Set, but as far as education goes Set is better off; Orthis isn't even literate. :|

Gren might be hot; he's not really muscular or a hunk, but Iris seems to like him. Though if any other girl tried to get into his pants she'd be subject to angry hyena with a katana. *wince* That wouldn't be fun.


03) 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?

Kacey's not the type to rely on others all that often but if she did give Desmo a mission it would be classified, (In other words if it you found out about it Desmo would kill you.)


04) What is or would be 9's favorite book?

Khan does so ever love reading. Considering the time he's in he would enjoy any story that is brighter than his own.


05) Would it make more sense for 2 to swear loyalty to 6, or the other way around?

Other way around. Orthis is a slave and is normally submissive. Gren has military and command experience so big difference between the two.


06) For some reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should he/she share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?

Hahahahaha! Oh man... either way poor Night is stuck with a lion. Too bad for her they're a package deal anyway. :>


07) 2, 7 and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?

Gren with two women? That would piss Iris off. :P On a more serious note all three at some point were in the Reman military (Gren being marked rouge after his desertion.) So they would talk about work of course. As for where they'd eat it would likely be an inn or maybe a government sanctioned building in which they could talk in peace.


08) 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?

Set may like to play with swords but he'd need more experience to get up to Khail's level. Unless his brother is involved the poor lion would easily be outclassed by the leopard.


09) If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would s/he get it back?

Desmo would simply steal it back when he had the cover of darkness on his side. Then he would try to kill Iris for it; also keeping to stealth and dark spells. Though a match up between the two could go either way.


10) Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.

Orthis is a tad timid in desiring things; fact is that s a slave he isn't allowed his own desires.

Kacey on the other hand is a very lonely soul; she may have the power of sorcery but her lack of sight keeps much of the world around her from understanding her. Worse part of it all is she regards those around her coldly as reprisal. That said it would be hard for ONE of them to attain what they desire; much less both.

If I had to title something for them though it would simply be: Freedom


11) What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?

Kinse and Iris are sisters; problem solved right there. :P

Oh man... I don't think we'd get along much if at all. Leena can be a bitch sometimes but I guess we might be able to stand each other over a game of chess; granted she'd hand my ass to me each time, but that immaterial.

Khail's a knight; think knightly things. If I tried to command him to help me get a girl he'd be the one sleeping with her. :<

Volusa's fairly recent so not bloody likely.

The sister of your lover or the Grand Captain of the Reman military... Tough call Gren, though call. Gren does believe that the word of the Grand Captain is law but he's likely to take the side of someone he cares about.

"Why couldn't we do this next weekend?!" Seriously though Set fight for the glory of his and his brother's dream with zeal; even if he doesn't look on the bright side he still believes in it.


17) If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?

Anything dark and mysterious; Desmo is a pretty dark guy.


18) 1, 6 and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. What's going on?

So one spotted hyena, one striped hyena and one brown hyena; why do I sense the start of a weird joke here? Granted all three have the potential for sorcery and Kacey would be able to sense that about the other two easily. Though Kacey being blind probably wouldn't even realize that either of them are the same race as her unless it came up in conversation.


19) What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 12?

Gren could try any line he likes; Kacey's answer most likely is going to be cold as ice no matter what he says.


20) What would 5 most likely be arrested for?

Night's the f***ing Grand Captain; she arrests YOU! So in other words given the power of her high position she isn't likely to be arrested at all.


21) What is 6's secret?

Orthis has a few, but I fear if I said any that might be spoilers for TSA. :P


22) If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?

That would be interesting. Most likely Volusa would beat Khan since she knows the plains better than he does and survives on being fast, but he sure wouldn't lose without giving his all though.


23) If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?

Leena, hands down. Desmo would be one of those creepy murderers you're tying to AVOID in that neighborhood.


24.) 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that he/she is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this story?

I've been debating on how each region in my stories approaches the subject of sorcery and I'd like to give a gist of how things are set up.

Reme
The empire highly regulates those who can command the arcane. If said person is not in the military then the person must have a licence to practice sorcery. Such licences are arguos to acquire as there is a lot of paperwork and evaluation involved. Once licensed though the sorcerer is allowed to conduct his art as long as it's within the bounds of the law.

Rouge sorcerers are by definition outlaws. They are to be questioned, arrested, or eliminated based on the level of rouge they are.
Level 1 rouge: Commonly the sorcerers who have yet licenced. They are usually approached; advised to register for licencing or apply for military service and usually granted leeway as long as they obey the law.
Level 2 rouge: Given to those who have used their power inappropriately, or refuse the empire's orders. They are to be arrested and then corrected by a sorcerer of the Reman military.
Level 3 rouge: Given to the more dangerous criminals, or treasonous sorcerers (this is the class Gren is in.) They are to be arrested on sight and taken to be reeducated. If they resist arrest disabling or lethal force is permitted at discretion of arresting officer.
Level 4 rouge: Deemed to dangerous to work in civilized society. Level 4s are to be arrested on sight without hesitation. Lethal force is allowed and advised on dealing with them should they resist arrest.
Level 5 rouge: The most dangerous. They have been deemed unable to fit in society and are to be eliminated on sight; no compromise. Only a writ from either three captains or the grand captain can deem anyone a level five threat. Any captain or vice captain who commits treason is automatically a level five and is to be eliminated upon discovery of their treason.

Leonean Kingdoms
The laws of the land vary from kingdom to kingdom, but most regard sorcery with high suspicion and superstition. Generally most kingdoms hate and even regard sorcerers as dangerous people and are not to be trusted. Most don't have any law that bans sorcery though; they fear it more than anything.

Shir'kha Empire
The lands of the east are more free when it comes to the arcane. Sorcerers are advised to be registered but it is not as heavily enforced as it is in Reme. One can go their whole life here without registering as one. They do have to follow the same set of laws that affect everyone else though.

Sorry that I've been all lurkery and such; midterms are kicking my ass, and I've lacked a lot of inspiration lately. :|

however I have got TSA up to chapter 25 as promised; there's just one problem. Though it all looks good 25 is a precursor to 26. In 26 is where I'd like to have it at the update. I won't reveal any plot, but suffice it to say I'm suffering another block again. I just can't seem to get 26 to where I want it. I know how it will turn out but just getting there is hard.

So I ask this: Should I just submit up to 25 now like I said I would? Or should I take the liberty to try and get 26 down? I'm asking the readers due to the fact I value your input here; so please answer below and I'll tally them up.

I will say I view anthros fairly differently from a majority of the fandom, the main being in the terms of feet. I prefer the plantigrade, (human) feet as opposed to digitigrade, (they can still have pawpads on the feet though.) Though I still view artwork with the latter I imagine my characters to have the former. (Some have been done with the latter but I view that as artist preference, which we all have.)

Snakes: A special case, as snakes don't have legs, I view them as having the naga body type, (that is having the snake body but with arms.)

Bats and avians:

Bats I imagine to have their arms as their wings, (none of this 'wings on the back' stuff, I find that most irksome like an anatomical flaw.) As such bats only have about three usable fingers. However as a trade off their feet are highly dexterous and are used as hands.

Birds, like bats, also have their arms as wings, but as a cheat have hands at the ends of these wings. (Though it's at all possible for the feathers to get in the way.) Like bats their feet are also very dexterous and can be used like hands as well.

Dragons: Ho boy, the big one. I probably won't write about dragon antros at all, (touchy subject for me,) but if I did I'd have them with arms and legs, like quad dragons have now.

As for why I wrote this, *shrugs* thought I'd voice what my head has been screaming for the past week.
