Frankly, sometimes being dead and no longer suffering is preferable to being alive and suffering immensely. Unless I'm way off here, I can't imagine that people get into the assisted suicide business because they enjoy killing people without legal consequence.

1. One of your scars, how did you get it?
I've described two of my scars that resulted from stitches, so I'll go with one that didn't. Back when I had my old Yamaha 250 smoker dirt bike, I knew jack shit about motocross, and I attempted to hit a 60' tabletop jump with the bike. Well, not only did I fail to stand up, I also failed to move back on the seat from the gas tank, so predictably, I landed totally vertical on the front tire of the bike. It was painful, but after about 30 seconds of lying on the ground shouting expletives, I got up and went back to riding. As I was walking my bike back to the truck at the end of the day (broke the clutch lever attempting another jump, which I damn near landed) I noticed a sharp pain in my right leg, pulled my pantleg up, and saw a trail of dried blood leading down to my foot, the origin of which was a dime-size hole in my leg. I also noticed that said leg was swollen half again as large as its normal size and was 100% bruised. The bruise went away, but the scar from the hole is still there.

Long story, I know, but I think it's a good one.

Twice, once when I was 3 years old and I fell through a plate glass window (12 stitches on my left wrist), and once about 6 months ago when I sliced the back of my left hand open on a sharp edge in a computer case (also got 12 stitches that time)

The ocean's fun to visit, but I'd say I prefer pools. For my money, I have more fun on a lake than I do in either a pool or the ocean, though.
