Oh wow...
Posted 13 years agoThe weird things we look for...
Posted 13 years agoWhile going through my computer, I came across music files that I had ripped from the TV when I was younger. This was for the kid's show Field Trip. I liked pieces of the first and 2nd season and decided to combine them and make a version I thought better than both of those. I had to record using a microphone straight into the computer (this was back in '98 or so). I want to re-master them, if you will, but I have had practically no luck finding anything online about the show, despite some websites saying it was "Emmy-winning". All I am looking for are videos or good quality rips of the main theme. I found VHS copies of some episodes on Amazon, surprisingly, but I'm not sure I want to invest money just yet (especially since I would have to record from the TV again, negating the better quality I seek). *shakes head* I wonder why I obsess over year's-old projects like this, when only I will be the one to enjoy them.
If anybody out there reads this and happens to stumble on what I seek, let me know. Fat chance I know... but never hurts to ask.

This CHristmas will be rough
Posted 14 years agoI'll keep this short. I don't mean to rain on anyone's holiday, but this year will not be fully pleasant for me. I lost my mother this past August. I've had to be a pillar for my dad to lean on for a few months, but just now, when I was in the other room looking for Christmas VHS tapes (good stuff taped off of TV in years past), I found a container with her stuffed animals and all of the emotion I've been avoiding so I could be strong for him all came out at once. I've only had such a violent cry a few times in my life. Luckily Dad was asleep in front of the telly, so he never heard.
I don't know if anyone reads my journals or not, but it makes me a feel a little better to write this down regardless.

stupid facebook...
Posted 14 years agoI'm a bit frustrated. I went through a process of wiping my Facebook and Myspace pages some time ago and I just tried logging into Facebook again on a whim and guess what? That damn thing is still intact. I found a page that is supposed to break down, step by step, how to do it right so I will try again. Until now, I haven't tried to log in since sometime last year, so I figured the inactivity plus whatever I did last time to get them to delete it would have been enough, but apparently it wasn't. Wish me luck.
