I don't want to get into arguments about what's going on in the US, but due to orange man baby tossing tariffs around and pissing off everyone. I decided to hold off on my Etsy project. Prices going up and packages are getting held up in the mail. It's just not a good time. 😓

I did some updates to my website, both things I've needed to do and based on artist feedback form. http://kristkc.com/

~ Addressed some of the low loading times.
This has been an issue for a long while. There is still more I can do, but it's on the back end of things and would be a lot of work. I feel like I'm noticing it loading faster?
- I replace big background images with a smaller jpg.
- Added a Robot.txt file telling all bots to GTFO. This sucks for my site now showing in searches, but to be real, I'm probably not getting traffic this way.
- Cleaned up anything that didn't need to be there on WordPress.

~ New Gallery Sections
This was suggested on the Artist Feedback. I don't know if this person meant my site, but I felt it was something that was needed. I used the sections to link more examples on the Buy Art page. I also added a Photos gallery! Over the years, I've had images sent to me of my art off-line. I really love these and thought I would share them. If someone doesn't want something there, let me know, or if you want to add to it, SEND IT TO ME!! I would love to see!

~ Fursuis Commissions are now delisted.
I've not worked on them in a long time. With some possible tariffs on the horizon, I don't want to work or focus on them for the time being. Plush section will stay for now, and I would still like to do them.

~ Shop page is new!
Nothing too exciting there, just links to shops and shows off some Redbubble things. I plan to start an Etsy shop this year, so this page is to help with that.

~ Price adjustments
Soft shading, base price for backgrounds, references sheets, and comics, have gone up a bit. These adjustments for Soft and References were influenced by the Feedback form. Backgrounds increase is because there was a lot of feedback that I need to work on backgrounds. To put in the more effort, it will cost me more time. It's been adjusted to all the styles and not gone up too much.
Comic pricing. I looked at and made some adjustments to make it a bit easier to understand and made sure the prices reflected what was offered. They did go up a bit. Again, this is to make the work more fair on my part. There is a lot of work that goes into making these pages.

My next year plans are to try and get into making merch. I'll be opening an Etsy shop hopefully next month. I'm starting with a line of cryptid art. I'll be working on this next week mixed in with commissions. I've just been waiting to try something new. I love doing commissions, I just want to do something more. I would really love to design plushies and sell them. I wanted to jump into that but decided to scale back a bit and try out prints, key chains, maybe enamel pins.

I was wondering, for prints. I was thinking 8x10 and postcards. Should I offer bigger prints? I don't know what people normally sell. 😅

Also, heads up, I'm going to update my commissions sheet and prices a bit based on feedback from my form. I think this effects soft shading, reference sheets, backgrounds, and I'm going to re-look at comic pricing format because it's confusing af. I'll make the change sometime at the start of the new year. Orders on my list before the change will keep the old prices. Hint hint lol

I haven't heard from them yet about the info I sent them, but I logged in to check, and my account is not limited? So I'm going to assume I'm fine. I tested by withdrawing $10 and it worked. Not sure if maybe they auto unlocked after I sent in the info or maybe they did review things and just did it? IDK I was stressed, then yesterday I was feeling unwell and had a doctor apt (unrelated to me feeling unwell, just a check-up). I'm fine today

I honestly don't think it has anything to do with being furry or sexy art. I've read from core nsfw artists that PayPal doesn't care about this issue, they use PayPal all the time. But I'm going to distance the latter for now, just to be safe. bth it's only maybe 5% of what I do and partly tempted to extra charge or stop them because I can't stream them. But that might more happen if I can actually stream more weekly. People who join me on streams know how well I am at that. XD

I also have a URL link I give customers. This is set up to not take shipping. So you could use that.

I got a notice from PayPal today. They want me to verify what I do and who I am? Apparently? ????

But until I get this cleared, I can't do anything with the account. I can not send, receive or withdraw.

I'm not sure why they are doing this, if It's just random or something flagged my account. They don't tell me why.

In the meantime. I have one commission in process that will be completed. I have some things that I've been needing to work on, like business cards, look into CMYK exporting, updating Neon Glow, maybe look into Live 2D to redo my Vtuber so I'm not using yucky adobi product, and also making products or bases. I have a billion things, lol

I still don't want to use them for making commission reference sheets. I like redrawing the character every time. I just want to put that out there. I don't want these for my commissions. These are for people to buy, download, and color themselves.


I'm looking into doing things to sell this coming year. Someone suggested bases to sell. I was thinking reference sheet bases. But I think I'm overcomplicating things in my head.

I've seen people complain that there are no, or it's hard to find, various body shapes with bases. So I was thinking of doing that, having options with in the file anywhere from thin to heavy. Maybe some muscular ones too. Should I have all these in one file, or make them all separate? But I also don't want 203752 listings on my Ko-Fi for all these. Because you could have like 10 body shapes for dogs, birds, horse and so on.

Then it's pricing. I see these go for $3 - $5 - $10, but having all these options in one that seems cheap. Just do people want to pay $20 for all these nestled. Files. Should they all be their own listing, so people can pay a cheap price for one body type?

I should also say I wanted to do breeds of dogs too because I feel like that is lacking out there too.

Any thoughts on this?

I just wanna say I love you all.

I just want you all to know that I have ADD, and I am aware that I keep mindlessly forgetting details about or on commissions. I do not know when this happens, as I am unaware that it is happening. I am aware that this is happening more as I get older. (I'm 40 btw) I do not know how to control this. I have been told to try and take better notes about commissions. But when you have ADD or ADHD That is just ANOTHER step of the process, another hurtle I have to jump to keep doing what I do. I have thought about getting meds, but it's like a WHOLE OMG PROCESS of being epic diagnosed and I have to go in monthly to keep getting meds, then WILL even I get the meds, does anyone one even take this all srly enough to cover it, and I'm already dealing with X amount of stuff all ready. It just looked like a lot of money and time down the drain when I could be flopping around making whatever I do work.

I honestly don't think I'm doing that bad? I could be doing better. But I'm doing the best I can. I've been trying to get into the mind set that I am doing the best I can and not to dwell on it when I get behind, or I didn't hit my budget goal.

I also want to say, No one has been rude or angry at me about any of this. Everyone is pretty understanding and supportive. I don't count this against tweak limits when I recognize I'm at fault.

One thing that would help me out, that you could do is, make your commission order organized and in one go. Something like:

Type of order: (example text) Cel Shaded 2 character with Background
Character names: Tails (fox) and sonic (hedgehog)
References: https://i.ytimg.com/vi/aku6nEXNbn0/.....resdefault.jpg
Description: Two of them running in a loop thing looking into each other's loving eyes

It doesn't need to be that exact format but At least that info in one go.
Also, if you are a returning commissioner, I appreciate it if you re-give me the references again. I do keep some, but I don't keep track or remember your characters as well as you think. When you think of it this way, you're only seeing me interact with you. But I'm also working a bunch of other people.

When people chat the commission at me or make information in multiple notes, it gets hard to keep track or reference info. If you've done this to me, DO NOT FEEL BAD! I'm not annoyed or irritated with you.

Over all, I try to be flexible and understanding. My interactions with you guys are part of my job. If I worked for a big company, I would be working with a LOT worse. I see it from my husband's job. 🥲 I love working with you all. I'm just trying to give you better tips so we can work even better than before. I also encourage you to do this with other artists as well. Might be good for them too.

Nothing has really "changed" just made sure things are clear.
Added what payments are accepted. It said this on the "Buy Art" page, but felt it should be there too to make things more clear.
I think the most I tweaked was I rearranged "would love to draw" so it flows better and reworded some things in "might draw"

OCTOBER!!!!
This coming week, We're looking after my mother-in-law as she had hip surgery. I plan to work during the day, but might be pretty distracted.
The week after is a bit of vacation time with Chris. His birthday is the 15th.
So you might not see much from me half the month. Normally I do a Halloween sale, but I have enough orders for the month I don't think I would get to them till after Halloween and people don't seem to like Halloween art after Halloween, from what I've noticed. lol So I'm not doing one this time. Kinda makes me sad. I wanna draw some awesome spooky stuff lol

You may have noticed I've been a bit slow. I've been seeing a lot of doctors lately. Noting crazy going on. Just trying to better regulate some meds. My eyesight has been going weird, I now need reading glasses for work. I have like 7+ cysts on my head that need to be removed, lol They like scheduled me. Then reduced hours without telling me. I showed up, and they were closed. They marked me as "no Show" and blamed me for it? I'm thinking about getting a different dermatologist. I just worry about being a nuance or my main doctor. 😅

We've been married for 13 years! We're going strong too!

Recently, I came to the realization that the friends I had who hurt me so much in my past were only like a 3ed of my lifetime now. I've been with Chris longer than I were with them. Thinking about it, I feel like I need to dwell less on it. I'm a different person than I was when I was a teen. I've worked on myself and grown since then. A lot of it is thanks to Chris, vids on YouTube lol, and you guys. Chris and you all have given me so much confidence in my self that I love you all! Thanks.
