Stream plans for the week ahead! (w/c 2nd December 2024)
Posted 11 months agoSo! I'm usually a Monday and Tuesday streamer, but I'm out with work on Tuesday evening so changing things up for the week ahead. I may stream a little on Tuesday depending on how late I get back, but here's what I do look to try for the week ahead.
Monday 2nd December: Donkey Kong 64 Randomizer. Track-O-Matic for the people! Trying out a new way of tracking things in a bid to improve my times further. Also, at a friend's insistence, there'll be ice traps involved.
Wednesday 4th December: UFO 50. Aiming to assemble a streak of 5 in Party House as I strive for my second Cherry!
Friday 6th December: Fortnite. Islands new and old! But which will win my heart? Will anything ever compare to the grind rail era?

TF writing commissions: considering a price increase
Posted 4 years agoOver the last few months, I've been considering upper the prices of my TF writing commissions. Currently they stand at $10 per 1000 words, however, I am wondering if I should look to up that to $12 per 1000 words. I'm still closed for now, but I will be posting some other stories that I've yet to owe, and some that I just want to write. Feel free to use those as judgment and let me know what you think my writing is worth! Thanks in advance!

naf45's "Transformation Day", I've decided to put up a series of TF RP prompts for you to try out with me! Fancy being TFd? This is the place to come! Just let me know in the comments which prompt you're responding to. But please let me know a few things regarding your initial form and your preferences! Are you starting out as a human, or an anthro? What's your gender? Do you consent to a change in gender, or species, or a mental change? And bear in mind, some of these prompts, I'm only accepting one slot, for others I'll have multiples open. Alright, let's go!
Important: for all RPs, I will only limit myself to SFW content. If I'm not comfortable with your idea, I'll let you know.
1) Vacation to Canada
After a weeklong vacation in Toronto, we decide to spend our final day searching for suitable souvenirs to take home with us. We find ourselves drawn to a pair of trucker's ballcaps, and get attached to them enough to walk out of the store with them. But, having those ballcaps on leads to an adventure that has us sticking around in Canada for a much longer time...

A long hike off the beaten track takes us into unfamiliar territory that can't be found on any map we have, and even our compass is going wild. But maybe this unfamiliar territory seems somewhat familiar after all. Have we seen this place before? It doesn't take long for strange forces to get to work in welcoming us to whatever realm we have stumbled across...

3) Convention weapons shop
A replica weapons shop at the convention you're attending is garnering a lot of attention: they're selling some of the most realistic replicas out there, and with such a massive range too. It seems that if you have a weapon that you desire putting your hands around, then they have it for sale. However, its easy to get attatched to a replica weapon of such quality... maybe a bit too attatched...

4) Convention DDR tournament
You've made it to the finals of your local convention's big DDR tournament. The rest of the competition have proved their skills and a lofty goal has been set. It's time to show them that you have what it takes to beat them... that you can dance your heart out... and dance like no other... that rhythm is in your veins, and the dancer inside is just waiting to be let out!

5) Sports drinks craze!

The final straw: the true migration
Posted 9 years agoBack when Dragoneer first sold FA out to IMVU, I decreed that I would move everything out to Weasyl and get outta FA before things inevitably got worse... and kind of neglected to fully carry that out.
Then, things got worse.
FA is now an infosec minefield and people, if they haven't come to their senses then, are doing so know, and I think it's time to go with them. Weasyl has been proclaiming their superior security, with an obvious Bronx Cheer towards FA in declaring how they fixed the vulnerability that was FA's downfall two weeks ago.
Well, it's time to say goodbye. I'm gonna backup my FA submissions, migrate my watches to dA and Weasyl, and, once that's all done, get the heck out of here! I'll give a few days for everyone to leave, then it's goodbye account!

The Anthro Baseball League?
Posted 9 years agoHey guys! Been a while since I last posted a journal here, but hey, I came to announce... something of an idea?
Basically, I've been playing Out of the Park Baseball, a highly acclaimed baseball management simulator, which lets you be the manager of your choice of baseball team, be it in the present major leagues, from history, or international. You can even manage in a fictional league of your own creation, and that's where my idea came: an Anthro Baseball League.
Basically, I'm looking for furries who enjoy baseball or otherwise to sign up for the virtual "Anthro Baseball League" that I'm running as commissioner in OOTP. There's an in-depth player editor in the game, so everything in this form will go towards creating your baseball self in the game. The league features ten teams in two divisions: the American Division features teams representing the homes of the five biggest furry conventions in the USA (Anthrocon, MWFF, BLFC, FurCon, and FWA), while the International Division features teams representing the homes of major conventions worldwide (Eurofurence, ConFuzzled, Furnal Equinox, ConFurgence, and JMoF). Pick a team/convention local to you, or choose to let me decide!

Ticket to ride: a trip to Beatleville
Posted 10 years agoSo, as I said in my last journal, I made my way to Liverpool to watch Beatles tribute acts perform at the Cavern Club as part of International Beatleweek! It was fantastic to look around the historic venue, and some fantastic bands performed!
Oh, and I also got to hang out with
FoxAmoore ^_^
Seriously, I wasn't hoping or expecting him to ask if I could come over and spend a bit of time together, and this isn't something that happens often, what with him being Scottish and me being from Yorkshire. Only other times we've got to hang out were at ConFuzzled 2012, 2013, and 2015. Obviously, I jumped at the opportunity. It was excellent to share our stories. And, of course, Fox had his musical duty to fulfill, as keyboard player for McDonald's Farm, a Beatleweek perennial. Fox certainly had his fans, and he seemed to know a lot of the acts at the Cavern personally. It could be said that his supporters were on Fox name terms with him. His vulpine identity transcended the fandom!
I took plenty of photos from my time at the Cavern, check them out! I also recorded a couple of videos: here's Fox Amoore performing a soundcheck, and here's the band performing Lovely Rita. These were mostly for the benefit of
Cosmik (who was quite the jealous bearcat!), but I thought I may as well share them with all of you!
Footnote: now having visions of Bandthro performing at the Cavern. One can imagine...

Going to Liverpool tomorrow!
Posted 10 years agoI'm going to Liverpool tomorrow! It's International Beatleweek, and plenty of tribute acts will be playing across the city. FoxAmoore will be at the keyboard for one of them, and I'm going to see them perform at the Cavern Club and hang out with Fox. Anyone else want to come? Fox said "bring friends", so anyone else want to hang out with us?

Posted 11 years agoI've been doing plenty of Transformation RP over the past several months, not only with those who enjoy it as much as me, but others with an open mind who were happy to experience a transformative adventure with me. One of them, 
weregrem, praised my inventiveness and descriptiveness, and thought that I ought to try writing TF fiction. Well, I already have! Except that it's a few years old, and is hanging around the back of my dA page. But watch out, as I'll be getting around to uploading it here soon, promise!
Another thing I'm meaning to do is to edit a TF RP into a proper piece of literature, inspired by the adventures of
manakoro, 
thronezwei, and 
jonasbelford, wherein the aformentioned create a proper story from the RP. I've finally managed to have an RP worthy of this treatment, with 
EddieHaskell... it's going to be a real corker!

Posted 11 years agoIt was a London furmeet today! Attending my first one in 2 years! Such excitement! Counting down the distance to London!
...and then it all fell apart.
1) The people I was hoping to talk to today didn't even attend.
2) Most of the people that were there were people I had no idea who they were, unless they were in fursuit. Obviously it was hard to get along.
3) Only when I was on the return train home did I discover that a certain talented, yet reclusive, individual that I've admired since joining the fandom was attending the furmeet, right there under my nose without my knowledge. This is the sort of guy people would pay hundreds of pounds to meet, and I could have done it for just 50.
Oh, fursuit photos? Oh yes. I took them. They'll be coming.
So... overall... the furmeet...
It was okay.
...and then it all fell apart.

Yes, Opening Day is Thursday, and no extra charge I think! More fun, more action! Arriving at 4 o'clock, I eagerly checked in, took a few photos on my way to my room, and got myself unpacking and preparing, getting my tail, paws, and wolfie hat on, during which my room-mate Ndro. It was nice meeting this new friend for the first time, and it was great that he was such a nice fellow. I spent my time shuttling back and forth between the outside and the rotunda, along the main corridor, through the bars, until I settled in the queue for the Opening Ceremony, and what a Ceremony it was! Brok waved the flag, and under starter's orders, we started with the World Premiere of a brand new
EZWolf short film, Tears Of The Forgotten, featuring fursuits by 
Qarrezel, music by FoxAmoore, and magic by 
blastdav (yes, really, Ári has the power to make fursuits vanish!).
After all the hoopla of Ground Rules, Big Ticket Event previews, and Guests of Honour plans, it was time for the now traditional big BBQ! Happily there wasn't so much queueing as last time, but the food was as filling as ever! After having my fill I visited Artist's Alley, but struggled to find my artistic groove. That WAS about to change though... later... also did Pub Quiz with Ndro and various others, and
AzraFox too! We didn't come first... I don't even know if we did better than Kyell Gold's team... at least Kyell has been educated to the delights of "There's No One Quite Like Grandma".
FRIDAY
After breakfast with Ndro and his friends from the Pub Quiz team, it was straight to the queue for the Dealer's Den... man it was certainly longer than what I thought it would be 30 minutes before opening. Everyone was certainly desperate for something, and I was eyeing up the final ever copies of Fox Amoore's first album, Spirit of the Wolf, from a time before he even was Fox Amoore! (2004). Thankfully I grabbed one of the first of the last, Fox having saved me a copy, and he had even signed me a message, thanking me for the Wonka Nerds I gifted him. Seriously. Fox goes weak at the knees for Nerds. If you're attending Anthrocon, Megaplex, Scotiacon, Eurofurence, or Rainfurrest this year, give him a box or two and he will thank you hard! SpiritRaptor, in anticipation of my plans to commission a fursuit of Rolf. I didn't visit 
TaniDaReal's stand, but in hindsight maybe I should have...
Talking of fursuits, I next went to
spark-wolf's Fursuiting 101 panel and grabbed some vital notes! After grabbing food at the Sponsor Buffet, it was off to Meet the Guests of Honour! It was really fun finding out about Kyell and Gab, the two of them had great chemistry! I asked Kyell about his ruling himself out of this year's Ursa ballots; he compared it to Neil Gaiman and the Hugos. Later, I'd meet Gab once more, as she lectured us on the secrets of drawing, and I was glad to have overcome yesterday's art block. So thank you Gab! Staying in that room was Azron and CF's cooperative board and card game session, and thankfully someone brought in a copy of the Nordguard game that I couldn't afford earlier, so yes, I can claim to have played it. It's easy with many furs, a metaphor for the power the fandom has when we all come together! Evening activities included Banner Brawl, Kareoke, and dancing the night away...
SATURDAY
After breakfast, I investigated the games room, meeting
Shez playing DJ Hero in fursuit, and 
Solarlay playing Kinectimals. Madness! That was followed by the fantastic fursuit parade and photoshoot! Just how many fursuiters were there? I don't know! They were all so fantastic! This was followed by spectating Ferret Racing, viewing the Qarrezel fursuit gathering, and then Saturday's first hot event, The Savannah Revolution:'s Rock Concert! Time to put on those earplugs as things got NOISY! Those drums! And such great music brought a tear to my eye! So thanks for that...
Straight after, I happened upon the DDR Beginner contest, and ended up coming second! A rather fluky difference between second and third though, heheh... one number: "12"... Then came the second big event of the day, PAWPETS! I had never been to a CFz Pawpet production, but it was a blast! After the end we got to go behind the scenes and see just what goes into the making of the show. Pretty sweet IMO. And so, more partying before bed, and then...
SUNDAY
The mystic JM Horse presented once more Furry Hypnotism. I certainly felt... more like a wolf... it was odd, being so relaxed... this was followed, after lunch, by
Osfer's Voice Acting panel. Thank you for inspiring me to give Rolf a voice... for taking us behind the scenes of Dammar... and for giving us the chance to contribute to a future project from Fox Amoore and EZWolf! After a bit more DDR (which had been replaced with In The Groove, giving me the chance to bust a move to my Mungyodance favourite, Pink Fuzzy Bunnies!), it was time for real dancing in the fursuit dance contest! Well done to winners Kiyo, Sparky, and all other participants! Then... the Closing Ceremony. The revelation. It wasn't Oop North where CFz was moving to, but Birmingham! A stone's throw from the NEC, Birmingham Airport, Birmingham International railway station (Yes! You can get to CFz from Euston without having to change for the first time since 2009!)! What a gorgeous looking hotel...
MONDAY
An eventful departure day. After giving feedback, grabbing a little signed print at the Yard Sale, visiting the final photoshoot, and saying last farewells, I ran into a sour note. Hotel staff was not accepting prepaid meal cards, prompting
Nidonocu to refer me to ConOps, who said "no", but later Staff changed their mind to "yes", after I had left. What I did was, after spending a final several minutes at the con, finishing unfinished business, took a taxi to Tesco at 2pm, near the railway station, and grabbed some lunch there, taking it to the railway station and eating it in the shelter on the platform, where I met 
Nimrais and 
Kaji. We said hello, chatted about how awesome CFz 2013 was, how great the next one will be, then they left, the train I had booked being an hour after the one they took. Oh well. After walking, waiting, chatting, and riding, riding, riding, I was back home, and so happy to be there.
THE FUTURE
Today Pinky tweeted some photos from the new venue. There was a massive pool! Maybe this will be the year that we finally get some permission for pooltoys... I saw
Smraedis with a shark pooltoy... that never left it's box. Perhaps Hawkr can take his PuffyPaws Zenith dragon... And maybe I'll have got the Puffy Wolf... but that is sadly lower priority than the fursuit. One can wish to afford everything...
Yes, Opening Day is Thursday, and no extra charge I think! More fun, more action! Arriving at 4 o'clock, I eagerly checked in, took a few photos on my way to my room, and got myself unpacking and preparing, getting my tail, paws, and wolfie hat on, during which my room-mate Ndro. It was nice meeting this new friend for the first time, and it was great that he was such a nice fellow. I spent my time shuttling back and forth between the outside and the rotunda, along the main corridor, through the bars, until I settled in the queue for the Opening Ceremony, and what a Ceremony it was! Brok waved the flag, and under starter's orders, we started with the World Premiere of a brand new
EZWolf short film, Tears Of The Forgotten, featuring fursuits by 
Qarrezel, music by FoxAmoore, and magic by 
blastdav (yes, really, Ári has the power to make fursuits vanish!).After all the hoopla of Ground Rules, Big Ticket Event previews, and Guests of Honour plans, it was time for the now traditional big BBQ! Happily there wasn't so much queueing as last time, but the food was as filling as ever! After having my fill I visited Artist's Alley, but struggled to find my artistic groove. That WAS about to change though... later... also did Pub Quiz with Ndro and various others, and
AzraFox too! We didn't come first... I don't even know if we did better than Kyell Gold's team... at least Kyell has been educated to the delights of "There's No One Quite Like Grandma".FRIDAY
After breakfast with Ndro and his friends from the Pub Quiz team, it was straight to the queue for the Dealer's Den... man it was certainly longer than what I thought it would be 30 minutes before opening. Everyone was certainly desperate for something, and I was eyeing up the final ever copies of Fox Amoore's first album, Spirit of the Wolf, from a time before he even was Fox Amoore! (2004). Thankfully I grabbed one of the first of the last, Fox having saved me a copy, and he had even signed me a message, thanking me for the Wonka Nerds I gifted him. Seriously. Fox goes weak at the knees for Nerds. If you're attending Anthrocon, Megaplex, Scotiacon, Eurofurence, or Rainfurrest this year, give him a box or two and he will thank you hard! I met Lapres for the first time, a high-rising, trending artist who's conbadges are set to be a must have! I think that I'll let Lapres have free reign on drawing Alyce in medieval duds, and Gab can do a clingy of Terra!

But I'm returning to employement soon, so I'll be able to go to furmeets again: I'll tell you when I make my return!

Posted 13 years agoVirgin Trains called to say they have found my bag (they knew my number because I had some CVs inside), but they can't find my laptop inside. Hopefully they just weren't looking hard enough. They're bringing it back up to Manchester Piccadilly for pickup tomorrow. We shall see if the laptop has evaded theft...
BTW, yesterday, I saw an advert for gadget insurance that covers theft and loss, unlike that offered by the shop I bought the laptop at. Lesson learned, there.
