"Dear thema, I came up with some ideas for improvement!"
Posted a week agoPlease note: Once more, I write this in letter-like "you"-form. Because I want to see if that approach conveys appeal or injunction to help me remembering. Also: Seems a bit more self-aware 😉
Hi thema,
it is again me, yourself!
Reading through your reflections from Drawtober 2025, I think you can derive three categories from that: Speed to do things, courage to post stuff and sound (mental) health not to ruin because of social media.
For each category, I came up with some (counter-)measures and ideas you should mind:
Speed to do things
--> Create things on a regular basis
(more experienced with default things --> overall faster; like reflexes)
--> Feel free to stick with b/w or sketches
(it's more comfortable for you right now)
--> Replace your missing scanning device
(digitizing photos requires too much post-processing)
Courage to post stuff
--> Ignore your inner perfectionist more often
(it's a hobby and quality of live - not about best results for others)
--> You can make another account for posting things you consider risky
(helps finding out what actually is comfortable or risky)
--> Remember the feeling of pride regarding certain pictures
(it will give you courage to do more)
Sound (mental) health
--> Tone down a notch
(relieve yourself of your over-ambition and perfectionism)
--> Treat failures as a learning experience
(lowers the inhibition threshold for starting things, instead of expecting failure from the outset)
--> Work with time slots in order not to hamper your everyday life
(without everyday life stress, you have more time for things you care about)
--> Double the required time you think something will take
(gives you enough time to figure out how long things actually take)
--> Use only specific times a day to check for comments etc.
(the internet 'will not run away' & you cannot change the global time differences when people post anyway)
Best regards,
thema
Hm. Some of these seem like basic things and common sense - but I apparently forget them more often than I'd like. Interesting.
Also: If you have any ideas or remarks regarding this, feel free to comment!
See you around!

Hi thema,
it is me, yourself, wanting to remind you about your Drawtober 2025 results:
Happy about:
1) You got better with symmetry, straight lines and GIMP-usage!
2) You really looked forward getting comments and followers - and got happy when you got some.
3) You got nice results playing with panel placement and shapes (especially in this one).
4) You felt relaxed when doing crosshatching and black-and-white pieces like this one.
5) You were courageous enough to post sketch-like pieces - despite your inner perfectionist.
6) You (remembered that you) like writing in French - and are grateful to have translation tools like deepl to check your spelling.
Things to change/improve on:
1) You sacrificed way too much time and sleep for this Drawtober (unhealthy!)
2) You became too distracted thinking about comments, followers, etc. that it hampered your everyday life.
3) You lack a method of creating and publishing pictures in a short amount of time.
4) You still fear posting risky stuff (nudity, macro) or things you care about.
5) You are bummed that you missed 6 days of Drawtober and feel guilty about having to make up 6 pieces later.
6) You are still a bit bummed that you shied away from your initial Drawtober idea (a comic to practice expressions with).
Kind regards,
yourself
... Huh boy - felt awkward writing it like this.
And it needs to do a follow-up with measures .
Also: My thanks go out to
chilemeister, whose journal-entry with his Drawtober reflections made me want to do my own.
Bye for now!
