Back after a lengthy absence!
Posted 12 years agoSo sorry I've been gone for a long time, but I was awfully busy with college, personal projects, & other things. But, now, I'm back on F.A.! ^_^
22nd birthday (& other news)!
Posted 15 years agoOK, first off, it's my 22nd birthday today! :D Yea! *happy dance* I just went out to eat at a local restaurant for dinner, I've had cake & ice cream for dessert, & my presents will be coming in throughout the week, so...I'm very excited, as you can see! ^_^
Now, for the other news...
My fan-related & original projects are coming along fine; I'm still reconstructing my GMD website, & plenty of fanarts & fanfics are being worked on right now (& I have ideas for several others, too! ^_^ ). Also, I'm making an increasing number of additions to my GMD Fanfic Cast, which will be posted in my list on FA, for those of you who are interested. ;) Additionally, I'm still working on my movie projects, especially my GMD & (2nd) Rescuers sequels, my ACO prequel & sequel, & my original film, "Fantasmagoria". In short, my work is progressing very nicely, & once I get everything on my old laptop moved to my new one, it'll only continue to progress as time goes on. :D Whee!
Among my newer original projects are a few historical works, all related to the Jonestown tragedy of November 18, 1978 (for those of you who don't know about it, look it up on Wikipedia). Lately, I've taken an interest in Jonestown, along with the Peoples Temple & Rev. Jim Jones in general, & I'm in the process of creating three tributes to the Jonestown massacre--one in the form of 11 poems (compiled into a book I've titled "Guyana's Lament"), one in the form of a musical composition (the Penderecki-inspired "Jonestown Requiem", which is more of a requiem / opera hybrid that's entirely in Latin), & one in the form of four paintings (I'm currently working on the concept sketches for said paintings). The Requiem & paintings will take longer to develop, but I hope to get the poems published soon, so if you're ever in a bookstore, feel free to check out "Guyana's Lament" once it's been published.
And that's it for now, but if I can think of anything else to tell you, I shall gladly do so. ^_^ In the meantime, however, this is The Mouse Avenger, signing off. *salute*

My newest pet project: Fantasmagoria!
Posted 15 years agoRecently, I've been spending a lot of my time putting all my work into a movie project of an original basis. That project, my friends, is called "Fantasmagoria"! :D Partially inspired by "Who Framed Roger Rabbit?" & Ralph Bakshi's "Cool World", it is a delightful, family-oriented film combining animation & live-action, classical music & modern-day tunes, comedy & drama, & all sorts of other things! :D
Now, what is the premise of the movie, you're probably wondering? Well, it all begins with the heroine, Chartreuse Oman (portrayed by me). She is an aspiring cartoonist who is working under the wing of her mentor, Walt Rogers (portrayed by Prince); she hopes to make her big break in the animation industry, just as soon as she completes work on her "pet project"--an animated TV show about a multi-sectioned universe, filled with all sorts of zany characters (& it's called--what else?--"Fantasmagoria"). Chartreuse & Walt meet up with a potential agent (Gabriel Byrne), who will be more than happy to represent the former when she finishes her script for the pilot episode of "Fantasmagoria"--& illustrations for all the worlds & characters that will be a part of the show!
Filled with new hope of getting her feet off the ground, Chartreuse goes on a creative streak, then--for reasons not exactly known to her--suffers a "slump" in her artistic output. She turns to Walt for guidance, & Walt tells her, "Inspiration can be found in the strangest of places...often where you least expect it." Walt's words prove to be more than true when Chartreuse, in the middle of the night, is whisked away from her bedroom / studio into the Central Hub of the very world she plans to portray in her TV show...the world of Fantasmagoria! ^_^
From the moment she arrives in the "magical, mystical, madcap" universe of her stories, Chartreuse finds herself going on a series of imaginative adventures, as she befriends several of Fantasmagoria's inhabitants, including (but most certainly not limited to) Alexia (a benevolent Alex-DeLarge-like character), General Buck Scott (a tough-talking army general modeled after Gen. Buck Turgidson, George Patton, & George C. Scott), Ace (a hyperactive gambler), Betsy (a knowledgeable centipede-like creature who's got information in her built-in computer consoles on just about everything in Fantasmagoria), Donna (a lovely mouse dancer), Rainbow (a good-natured lady hippie with an obsession for the very thing she's named after), & Mr. Demetrius Metamorph (a comical character based on Peter Sellers who has plenty of multiple personalities, each with their own different name, look, mannerisms, & whatnot).
But danger soon threatens the idyllic paradise of which we speak, as the conservative political party (the evil Left-Brainers) is planning to take possession of a powerful Super-Crystal that could change Fantasmagoria forever...& not for the better! Will Chartreuse & our band of heroes be able to defeat the Left-Brainers, & prevent Fantasmagoria from turning into a Realist dystopia? That, my friends, is for you to find out! ^_^ If I ever get this baby finished (so many ideas flooding my brain...!), & turn it into an actual movie (as I hope to do with my other movie projects), I think it'll be a real treat for you to see! :D In the meantime, here's some "Fantasmagoria"-related art & writing to hold you over...& there's plenty more to come in the future! ;)

I have returned...with new art, & a quiz!
Posted 15 years agoHi, folks! ^_^ I'm truly, very sorry about my rather lengthy absence on FA--I've just been very busy with college, personal life, random projects, out-of-town trips, & lots of other stuff...but, anyway, I'm back, & I'm posting up plenty of new art, stories, & other stuff for you in my FA gallery! :D Along with a little something extra below...
Purloined from Kooshmeister, a little quiz entitled "What Do You Think Of My Art?":
1. Do I have a distinct style of drawing?
2. If so, what exactly is it that defines my "style"?
3. Would you say my art usually follows a 'theme'?
4. Is there anything I really need to improve on or change?
5. Does my style (if I have one) remind you of/look like the style of anyone else?
6. Judging from whatever art of mine that you've seen, what do you think I do the best at?
7. What do you think I suck at?
And...that's it! ^_^ Hope you all have a great day, & I'll keep in touch with you again soon! :)

Heeere's Annie! >:D

OK, OK, enough with the Kubrick jokes! *rises off the floor, & sweeps the dust off her clothes*
Sorry for the extremely-long absence, but I've been a little busy with college & personal things, though I should start having a little more free time (& FA time) by next week. :D Just wanted to give my FA peeps a quick "hello", & give y'all a warning for the tidal wave of fanart & fanfiction that's about to flood my gallery! ^_^ Yeeee-haw!

Now taking commissions -- please read!
Posted 16 years agoWell, it appears that another quirk of fate has changed the course of my daily existence once again--& it's not the good kind of quirk, either! Sometime last week, after I came home from staying at Gran's house, my laptop Lucky's right hinge broke off; you can still see what's on the monitor, but I need to be extremely careful while handling Lucky--as if I wasn't being extremely careful with him enough! (Which is why my folks & I were surprised that it happened in the first place, although we could attribute it to age & my constant use of Lucky over the years... ^^;; )
So, the other day, we took Lucky to the computer shop in town, in the hopes that we might be able to fix the monitor lid; unfortunately, we found out that we wouldn't be able to replace the part...which means that I will soon have to transfer all my files, documents, images, character profiles, website stuff, music, & everything else on my hard drive to a new laptop.
I'm currently taking note of all my laptop programs & my preferences for said programs while I'm looking for a replacement for Lucky (I think I may have found a good specimen! :D ), but there's a bit of a catch: while the overwhelming majority of the stuff on my hard drive can be easily transferred to the one on the new laptop, I won't be able to do the same thing with my software programs...which means that stuff like RealPlayer, Microsoft Word & Frontpage, & my screenwriting software will have to be downloaded / bought & reinstalled on the new hard drive.
Thankfully, I didn't have a whole lot of software on my laptop, & most of it was free stuff, but the software I will need to buy may end up costing a total of around $600, assuming I don't find cheaper copies on them on Ebay. Add to that the cost of my new laptop, & I may have to end up paying a total of $1,000 for everything--including the additional fee I'll need to pay for the relocation of all my files! *faints* Now, I don't want to drain my parents of their financial resources, & I want to be able to save the remainder of my graduation money for next year's trip to Comic-Con, so...in order to raise money for my new laptop & software, as well as the transfer of all my stuff to Lucky 2, I have decided to start taking commissions for the first time! :D
Commissions!

* $5 for a sketch of one person or character...
* ...but a charge of $5 will be added for each additional person or character you want drawn
* $10 will also be included if you want a background with the picture

* (Traditional) $5 for use of Prismacolor pencils | (Digital) $5 for flat-color, $10 for cel-shading, & just $5 for any amount of special effects you desire
If you're interested, just note me, & we can start discussing about your commission. ;) All I need is the details of what you want, what or who you want drawn, & your E-mail. :D If you have any questions, please let me know. :) I can take a money order, but I'm trying to see how to take money through Paypal, so I'll advise you about that as soon as it's set up. ^_^

Guess who's back, folks! ^_^
Posted 16 years agoSorry for the long absence, everyone--I was busy with the last few weeks of my first semester of college, occupied with several fan-projects, vacationing in NYC, & spending time at my grandma's, but now, I'm back! ^_^ And look--I've got new art in me gallery for y'all! :D
I haven't disappeared, folks!
Posted 17 years agoI haven't left FA, & I don't plan on doing so at any time. :) I've just been a little busy working on fanart & fanfics & things, mostly for GMD, Rescuers, & Once Upon A Forest, to put on here for your viddying / viewing pleasure. ^_^ But when you've got over a million projects to juggle, it does take some time, but I promise I'll get some things up for you guys ASAP. :D
And now, for a brief moment of comic relief...
DR. H. FREMDELIEBE: *reads one of the things that I'm planning to put up soon* Pick-up lines for GMD fanfic characters...including me? *blinks in confusion*
ME: Ja wohl, baby! ^_^ I thought that, since you hold the distinct honor of being my first OC crush, I should write a few lines for you. :)
DR. FREMDELIEBE (blushing a bit, just as he starts reading some of the more naughty pick-up lines I wrote for him): Uhhh...danke schon? ^^;; *reads a bit further, before speaking aloud from the text at one point with a dubious expression on his face* "Aww, you can't 'get around' without your wheelchair? That's perfectly fine--a lap dance...will..." *blushing profusely now* Oh, my!
ME: I hope that one's not too offensive for you, Herr Doktor.
DR. FREMDELIEBE (hesitantly): ...Well....let's just say I prefer your more ambiguous ones. ^^;;

"Romantic" Revelation!
Posted 17 years agoLadies & gentlemice, I have a startling announcement for all of you...
MR. ALTOID: You like rainbows as much as I do, yes? :D
ME: *giggles* No, you silly goose...I have my first OC crush!
MEMBERS OF THE GMD FANFIC CAST (clamoring & shouting in a sudden frenzy): On who? Which one of us? Is it on me? (ad lib)
ME: On Dr. Heinrich Fremdeliebe! :D
GMD FANFIC CAST: Huh? :?
DR. F.L.: Vait a minute, vait a minute! *quickly wheels over to me* Did you...just say...that I am your first OC crush?
ME: Yes. *nods*
DR. F.L.: ...Jeee-AAAAAAAAAAA!!!! ^_^ *suddenly realizes he can't jump, & then crashes down into his chair*
MOREY THE RAT TRAP TRUMPET-PLAYER: You crush on Dr. Fremdeliebe, Mouse Avenger?
DR. F.L.: Vat else vould she have just said, dummkopf? -_-
GMD FANFIC CAST: ....Ewwww....
DR. F.L. (taking offense to this): Oh, vat, so a human girl can't love a disabled mouse?
GMD FANFIC CAST: It's not the fact that you're a disabled mouse...
GEORGIE: It's the fact that you're starrier than her...by about 20 or so years.
DR. F.L.: So? She crushes on Malcolm McDowell & that Prince fellow, & they're past 50 years old!
GEORGIE: Yeah, but still...
SLICK WILLIE: And your appearance is based on the looks of Dr. Strangelove, a.k.a. Peter Sellers. Hate to be mean, but Pete wasn't exactly considered a sex idol.
DR. F.L.: By MOST people. And who says Peter Sellers vasn't really sexy in someone's eyes?
ME: Exactly!
SLICK WILLIE: Well, I dunno...
GEORGIE: I must ask you this, though: Why do you crush on Dr. Fremdeliebe?
ME: Because I think he's hot, I love his sexy German accent, I admire his skills, &...I JUST CRUSH ON HIM, OK??!!! Geez, Georgie, I don't criticize your crushes!
GEORGIE: I don't have any crushes right now.
ME: Exactly my point. -_- Therefore, who are you to criticize my crushes?
GEORGIE: ...No one. :(
ME: Oh, Heinrich... :D *hops into Fremdeliebe's arms & smooches him all over his face, making him giggle & blush sheepishly*

Back from Frightmare Weekend--PLEASE READ! :D
Posted 17 years agoWell, it's the night of Sunday, February 24, 9:05 PM Central Time (or it was when I started writing this journal ^^;; ), & my dad & I have just arrived home from Dallas at Frightmare Weekend, which was a tie for what I consider to be THE best time of my life (with the day I first viewed "The Great Mouse Detective"). Boy, do I have some stories to tell you!
All right, for starters, Dad & I left in the family van (just me & him; Mom & Sissy didn't buy any tickets for themselves to go) & left the carport of my house at around 3 PM; we made a pit stop at McDonald's near town's edge for a late lunch & took off afterwards. After about 5 hours of traveling from Winnie down Interstate 45, we finally pulled into Dallas around 8 PM...but unfortunately, Dad got lost (more than once!) & it took us an hour to reach the Hilton hotel near the Dallas / Fort Worth airport. By the time we got our stuff out & exited the van at 9:00, we walked to the main door, shivering in the winter cold...
So, anyway, while we were checking in at the (very nice) lobby, we found out that we didn't arrive early enough to get a good room (first come, first serve, they basically said), so after we took a tour of all the places where we would be going to have Frightmare fun for the next couple of days, Dad & I took the elevator to the 8th floor, where we set up our things in the room that we were to share. Small, cramped, not a lot of walking room...& a great big Murphy bed in the middle. So, after we unpacked, I took my evening meds at 9:30 (if I recall correctly), kicked off my shoes, put on my nightgown, & dozed off for the night. (It took a while before I fell asleep, though--I was SOOO very excited about meeting Malcolm McDowell & Irene the next day... ^_^ )
The next morning, I woke up at around 7:00 or so (I'm a bright-&-early bird! ^_^), & after we got dressed & bathed & stuff, we went down to the lobby & then through the hallway on the left until we reached The Vineyard, where I had a rainbow medley of various fruits (tee-hee!) & Golden Grahams (while Dad had bacon, eggs, & sausages) for our complimentary breakfast (they felt so bad about not being able to get us a nicer room that they let us have our morning meal for free--VERY nice of them! ). Then we went back up to our room & I worked on my laptop for a while; afterwards, around 12:00 noon, Dad & I went down to the lobby, & that's where we met up with Irene Relda!
I can honestly say to you that hanging out with Diane (or Irene :) ) at the hotel, Frightmare, & the mall nearby was a real treat; we must have spent hours talking about all kinds of things--Great Mouse Detective, Malcolm McDowell, Clockwork Orange, films & animation (& TV shows) in general, art, music, acting, the latest stuff...And Irene was positively sweet, genial, & fun to talk to; she even showed me her portfolio of all the art she's done of her GMD pastiche cast (WONDERFUL art I found in there!) & her sketchbook (great stuff she had in there, as well!). I can say that I enjoyed every moment I spent with Irene, & I hope we might be able to meet up in person again. That was indeed a wonderful treat... ^_^
Shortly after Irene & I first found each other in the lobby, we went downstairs to the Guests & Vendors section of the whole "Frightmare complex" (I don't know what else to call it! ). Irene & I went around, looking at stuff, until we got into the line of people waiting to meet--you guessed it--the one, the only...Malcolm McDowell! *toots fanfare on a party horn*
At one point, just after we got something for Malcy ("Mr. McDowell" to Irene) to sign his autograph upon (we got the same picture of Alex DeLarge toasting his milkplus & smiling at the camera), we were only a few feet away from him. I was practically bursting with joy (basically going "OMG, I think I'm gonna DIE!"), & the moment I came up to him, I could barely contain my ecstasy! He shook my hand, autographed my picture of Alex, told me I was a beautiful young lady, took pictures, & he HUGGED ME!!! ^_^ Whee! :D
After Irene got her picture signed & everything, we said g'bye to Malcy for the day (though he hoped to go to the celebrity party that would be hosted that evening) & Irene decided to drive us (along with her friend from Florida, who was accompanying) to the mall near the hotel (where we had lunch at a bakery, since all the other restaurants were packed with people). Then Irene, Dad, & I went back to the hotel, spent a good long while talking over various topics & going over her GMD art in the lobby (while her friend went downstairs to look at more stuff), & met this really nice guy (dressed as Alex DeLarge!) who did a lot of work on stage & in the Disney theme parks (he even played Gaston in a local version of the Beauty & The Beast musical); we all got his AIM & Myspace (& a couple of photos with him), which was quite nice. Then, after Irene, her pal from Florida, Dad, & I did some more talking & whatnot, we went back to our hotel rooms & agreed to meet up again Sunday morning.
Shortly after we split up from Irene & her pal, at around 5:00, Dad & I went upstairs for a Q&A panel with Malcy (can't stop calling him that!); the Alex-esque fellow we met earlier was nice enough to save a couple of seats for me & Dad! Then Malcy appeared, & everyone (including me!) tossed around questions about him & all the things he's done. He ended up telling the funniest stories about "Clockwork Orange", "Blue Thunder", "Caligula", "Time After Time", "If...", "Star Trek: Generations", & the "Halloween" remake. He talked for about an hour & then left, while we were all clapping...That was certainly an educational experience. ^_^
As it turned out, Malcy stayed only for a couple of minutes at the celebrity party that night (it started at 7:30 PM) & he left after a quick bite to eat (he probably had duties elsewhere), but Dad & I stayed to mingle with a nice couple who ate with us (I dined on plenty of chips & cookies). Then, at around 9:30 PM, we stopped to get some Reese's Cups, more chips, & a Coke at the gift shop, before taking the elevator back to our room. I played on my laptop for a little while & watched Law & Order: SVU & Court (er, Tru) TV stuff until I went to bed at around 12:00 midnight.
Considering how late I stayed up (what with various visions of Irene & Malcy dancing in my gulliver & making me all excited), I was quite surprised to wake up early the next day, at around 8:30. Dad & I got dressed & had another complimentary breakfast at The Vineyard (the nice hotel people wanted to make it up to us because they weren't able to get us a better room); we had the same foods we ate for breakfast yesterday, & then we went up to our hotel room to pack. No sooner did we start taking everything (we packed light) & walking down the hallway of our room floor than we met up with Malcy--again! He was checking his E-mail at the time, & we talked for a short while; it turns out he was very interested in me & we chatted for a short while.
I gave Malcy a little "fan-portfolio" that I'd prepared for him, full of fanart & fanfiction related to his films, especially ACO (he was surprised to know that I'd put my prequel-story in there), & he was also very pleased with the gift. He asked for my address & phone number, & he was absolutely kind enough to give me his personal E-mail (ain't tellin' ya, sorry!). Along with Irene & her pal from Florida, we met up with Malcy again later in the vendors' area; he autographed a couple of pictures I'd bought for & (same pic of Alex that Irene & I had gotten the day before)--& he even let me pick a free picture of him to sign as his personal gift to me. ^_^
So Malcy autographed my picture of Linderman from "Heroes", & we said "goodbye", hoping that we'd talk again soon; then Dad & I went back over to Irene & regretted to inform her that we had to head along home. Irene & I said our "goodbyes", & then Dad & I left the Hilton & began our journey at 1:52 (I think) PM. It did make me sad to leave everyone so abruptly, though, & indeed, parting is such sweet sorrow...But this was indeed a wonderful, magical event, & I will never forget it as long as I live. :D
