I've talk several times of Windir.
I may say without any exageration, that their songs lead my life and give me every day the spicy touch we all need.
What i am and what i'll become is thanks to Windir. I listen to a lot of bands from a lot of different genre of music but this is the only one that makes me feel like that.
No other one talk to me like that.
So, it's a Norwegian Metal band. It's Viking Metal band. Viking metal is more a concept than a genre itself as far as a lot of bands deal with Viking culture but come from differents Metal genre (from Heavy to Black with of course a lot of Folk and some Power metal bands).
The band come from Sogndal, and a great part of the songs are written in Sognamål, a dialect from this area, and this is what give the name of the new genre Windir has created: SognaMetal that leaded other bands from this area to do the same( which leans to talk about their medieval history and writte their lyrices in their ancient Dialect.)
The man who founded Windir is Terje Bakken alias Valfar. he wrotte the 2 demo and the 2 first albums alone and played most part of the instruments (exept drums, clear vocals and sometimes another instrument). Jarle Kvåle alias "Hvàll" (the bassist) who helped Valfar with instumentation and some other stuffs in the first productions of Valfar finally joined Windir with his band Ulcus, which included the one who was playing Drums in Windir songs: Jørn Holen alias "Steingrim", for the creation of the 3rd and the 4th album.
Hvàll has written half of the songs in these albums.
Unfortunatly, the corpse of Valfar has been found on january 17 2004 after he went to his familly's house/cabin 3 days before. he dies of Hypothermia. It seems he has been surprised by a strom and tried to backtrack.
The other members of Windir decided to split up Windir because this band and it's spirit belong to the genius of Valfar who created it. They performed a last (awesome) live at Olsothe 3 sep 2004. There were some guest bands including world's famous on the metal scene: Finntroll and Enslaved.
Three great bands have emerged from Windir with its former members: Vreid, Cor Scorpii and Mistur.
So what's the point about this post?
First, you can't get me, my way to be and my way to work if you never heard about Windir.
Secondly: the offcial Windir Website has been closed a few weeks ago (after a hiatus of what? 7 years?). Which means it'll be harder to share this amazing band to the world. So another page is turned.
But well, a viking Metal tour is on. Mistur and Vreid are in + other awesome bands (sadly, Einherjer are not coming in france T-T). In paris the 22.

Fact1: Windir means warrior
Fact2: Windir talks about the medieval history of Sogndall espessially around 1184. And so, it deals with a rebelion lead by a warrior called Arntor who has been killed a the end of this rebelion and his land and house taken in retalion. The fact ih Hvàll is his descendant. If i didn't mistaken somewhere. I can't share much details about this rebelion and which despot king they where fighting due to the removal of the Windir site.

But well, it runs CS5 pretty good as far as i can see...

General | Posted 13 years agoI'm off for an undeterminded time because my fucking laptop just have a fucking impact on the screen that fuck 3/4 of the view and i have no fucking idea where this fucking come from
I take care as hell of this cpu, it is really expensive, I can't afford another one at all and this just have a motherfucking impact on it.
I mean shit, it's not the moment, i work on it, my least distraction come from it, my only way to have the illusion to escape is this.
I'm so screw...

Après tous ces emmerdes, toutes ces dépressions, toutes ces merdes et toutes ces conneries, je me suis finalement donné une dernière chance.
j'lai contacté. Je'lui ait dis que j'en avais fini avec toutes ces conneries. je lui ai demandé s'il accepterai d'être a nouveau d'être à nouveau cet ami génial qu'il a été. Même après tout ça. Je n'attend rien en particulier de lui, j'espère juste que...
Qu'il me donne une autre chance.
