I can relate to this greatly as I struggled in school because I learned different then how some of my teachers taught. Studying was an even greater problem. I'm not trying to bring people down as so to speak but it makes you wonder how real life and education has become so disconnected from each other.
The Prime Minster of Canada, also Canada has a King!
General | Posted 15 years agoSo last night I had a dream that I was the Prime Minister of Canada. Not only that but in this dream Canada had a king, yes a king and I had to report directly to him. It gets stranger. In this dream learn that Canada despite having its own monarch, is still ruled by the Queen back in the UK. So I guess the Queen is higher up on the Monarchy scale above the King of Canada? Anyway I got to meet the Queen too. Also I was still American. In fact I was still myself not someone else. I honestly have no idea why I had this dream I've never been to Canada, but it did get me thinking. If Canada really had it own Monarch. Who would it be? Maybe I can dream the answer?

Drawing Tablet Help
General | Posted 15 years agoI have a tablet. I've had it over a year. Its a great little device, but I can't use it. Well, at least not at the moment. Why? Because I have the worst time drawing with it.
Some of you have said that drawing with a tablet was pretty easy to get used to. Obviously its not the monster I think it is, but drawing with it has been difficult.
I believe my main issue isn't the hardware, but instead my ability to physically draw with it. I figured that I'm very used to traditional media. More importantly I'm used to looking down at the media as I draw with it. Using the tablet forced me to look at the computer screen and not my hand. Sudden;y my equilibrium is thrown eschew and I am now forced to look at the cursor on the screen and not my hand. This disconnect between my brain/eyes and hands doesn't sit well with my coordination.
So now I'm stuck. I'd like to develop my digital skills just as much as my work with traditional media, but trying to overcome this rather formidable wall that has kept me from doing this.
I've been told practice is the key here and I certainly agree, but my patience with the tablet is very thin and trying to build up a think skin to this issue has been slow at best. I also realize a great deal of this is psychological and it wouldn't surprise me if some said that this problem was all in my head.
Therefore I think its time I ask for some help. Any advice, tutorials, and tips on this would help. :)

As it turns out some researchers are starting to think that the 20's should be entitled the "emerging adults years." This was an interesting read, but just to let you all twenty somethings out there know, your all emerging into adulthood. Yes there's a whole new stage of maturity. Do you have a vision of where you want to be in ten years? Not right now.

Have you ever given up your seat for someone on the subway? On the bus yes.
Do sunrises and sunsets make you happy to be alive? Very much so.
Do you give a damn about others? I do. Sometimes I worry more about others more then myself. It creates complexes. Its not fun.

Do you open yourself up to risk and rejection? No I do not. Its the one reason why I don't think I'll be able to have a relationship for a while. I don't even deal with it for fear I will be turned away. Yet I sometimes I try to show affection and the need for want in a way that shows my interest, but I seem not be able to take the next step and say "I like you, would you like to go out?"
Do you read books thoroughly? I used to be the biggest book worm in my family, but since college I have stopped reading altogether. I'm trying to read again but just like drawing its become a struggle to pay attention or give a care. I feel as though I've lost apart of my self. Its pathetic and I have no idea how to regain what was lost.
Do you drink wine slowly? Yes, because I don't always like to drink wine. XD

I try to be flexible with this. We all make mistakes. and you can't always hold people to that. Its the way we as humans are, but make no mistake you screw me, don't come running back or your going to have the door shut in your face.
Have you enjoyed a conversation that has lasted over two hours? Oh yes those are the best. A good rant is fun! Honestly I get really uncomfortable when I have short one word conversations, or when it seems like I'm the one moving the conversation along. In those cases I usually will be honest and say something to the effect "is everything okay" or "if you don't wan to talk that's fine." I admit I can be fairly insecure about it, but I sometimes cannot catch certain social hints. Its pretty stupid but its me. :)
Do you make mixed cd’s for people? I have. Its fun!
Do you know your best friend’s middle name? I am terrible with names folks.
Do you buy books with the intention of loaning them out? No. Unless its a gift I buy them for me! Perhaps selfish but the truth.
Do you build others up, not just tear them or yourself down? If I tell you your awesome I mean it. If I like something you made. I mean it. I have torn myself down a few times but I don't dick around with other people. The only time I give mixed signals is wither I'm confused about the intentions of the person or confused about what I want to say myself. In either case I get befuddled and you can tell.
Do you bum cigarettes (if that is your predilection) freely? I do not smoke, but so long as you do not blow it my face go ahead and light up.
Do you care about the environment? Yes. I have become OCD about it sometimes. That does not help the environment.
Are you passionate? God yes! And whiny, and perverted, and serious, and for some reason sometimes prudish. How does the math work there?
Do your moments of bliss outweigh your regrets? Not really sure. It depends on the day. Ask me sometime, maybe you will get a good answer.

Bad news from home.
General | Posted 15 years agoWell my step-mother just e-mailed me today letting me know that my father lost his job. My parents saw it coming but it was one of those things were you would hope things would turn out all right.
I'm rather worried now. My father had a series of anxiety episodes like I had at the end of last year. Stress has been really bad for him and he stopped being himself. Had to go on medication. Plus my parents are having marital issues. He's the workaholic kind of guy and puts great effort into his work. So we'll see what happens now.
My step-mother still has her job and they can live of what she makes. Both of my parents have been tightening their income and paying off extra bills and such.
I'm still hopeful this will be a new chapter in my father's life where is free to do the things he's always wanted to. Maybe he might retire early.
But I have my doubts...

He's going to semi-retire and get his auditors license and work when he wants at home.
I'm sure this will be a very big change for the man who always prides himself for waking up right on time at 6am and has more ties then I'll ever know, but so long as he's happy that's all that matters.

Furries and Tattoos (I need your thoughts!)

So if most furries have fur and wear tattoos, how did they get them?. What I mean is how do you give a furry tattoo? On humans they have naked exposed skin, thus the tattoo can be seen, but most furries are covered in fur. A tattoo would technically be impossible to be seen or given for that matter.
It seems picky and ridiculous but I'm actually thinking of the probability for this to happen. So I want everyone's thoughts on this topic. How can you explain this so that furries can have tattoos? Honestly I'm looking at this issue and I can't find a way for this to work.

General | Posted 15 years agoSo I want to download New Order's "Power, Corruption & Lies" from Amazon, because I can't believe I don't have any New Order. The only thing I can download however is the collectors edition version that's got all kinds of versions of the songs. I just want the original album. That's not all. The price is like 10.99 which is probably good for a download, except I want just the original album. Argg! So then I start looking for torrents of the thing and I'm hitting a dead end there. Gosh all this trouble for music. I swear!

Gosh do I love trolls!
General | Posted 15 years agoReally they are so lovable and soft. Wait, no, that's bunnies. Sorry. I guess I get the two mixed up.
But really I don't like trolls. Nobody does. Except perhaps the trolls themselves?
Anyway. There was a recent incident with what I would call a troll and now that's its over I wonder, "why do people troll?" I suppose that's like asking why are people, people?
Well I don't find any satisfaction in bullying and hurting people. I guess there a re plenty of people who do like that.
Its ridiculous really that someone would spend there time actually harassing others but as I look at the world. It isn't surprising.
Oh well the time has passed, the story is done, and I need some caffeine.
