An Update
Posted 10 months agoAbout two and a half years ago at time of writing, I posted a story featuring my main boy Bāden harassing and ingesting the reader, and the that story rather swiftly became my most popular post. Just recently, it also became my first story to reach the eyes of 1,000 viewers. A small stepping stone for some, but I'd personally never imagined ever having that many people see my sub-par works, and I would never have though even half of that would appreciate what I put out.
This is all to say, I'm equal parts flattered and embarrassed of it, but more than anything, honored. Thank you everyone for the views, the comments, the favs, watches and etc.
More to come in time!

Companion Perks
Posted a year agoHere's something fun and a little random: active perks one would get by taking each one of my characters as a companion/ally, a bit New Vegas stylie. No real substance here, though it does include some tidbits of info on each of them. Feel free to discuss if they seem OP or useless!
Posting in Journals because...well, there's no substance here! I wouldn't say it's worth properly posting. Tell me if I'm wrong, I suppose.
There's more things in the pipeline, I promise! I'm just...*really* bad at finishing my writings-

Death's Harbinger:
While adventuring with Zyrr, you appear as a ghastly personification of death itself, giving you a 15% chance of causing enemies to drop their weapons and flee at the start of combat
In combat, Zyrr wields a wicked falx blade that ensnares the souls of any of its victims. Shockingly quick and agile for his size, Zyrr relies heavily on outpacing and confusing his opponents by disappearing before their very eyes and reappearing at will shortly before striking. Health is average, speed is excellent and damage output is below average.
Fun fact: Zyrr paints his nails. Or...claws.
Furious:
While adventuring with Bāden, you can feel the beast raging within you. While under 20% health, you gain 20% increased movement and attack speed, and increasing attack damage by 10% for each consecutive hit on an enemy.
In combat, Bāden wields a custom-engineered hand cannon of a revolver. Chambered in .308 caliber rounds, it hits well above its weight for a handgun - and its size does reflect this - though can be slow to output damage. Bāden himself is quite durable, difficult to pin down during a fight, and can prove just as deadly with his claws if pressed in melee. Though be warned that Bāden has an incredibly foul temper, and is just as likely to attack and kill allies that annoy him, as well as attacking enemies far more aggressively. Health is excellent, speed is above average and damage output is average.
Fun fact: Bāden is a dancer. And, quite a skilled one at that.
Loudmouth:
While adventuring with Alex, his brash and taunting nature has a 20% chance every second of causing enemies in combat to become Enraged. Enraged enemies deal 30% more damage, but will focus all their attention on Alex, are significantly less accurate, and will take 15% more damage from all attacks.
Alex is a well-armored and quite durable young man, though relatively inexperienced in combat compared to his compatriots. He doesn't hit very hard and he's only as fast as a human can reasonably be, but he makes up for this by often drawing much more attention than he ought to. He favors a large two-handed sword as his default weapon, but can use a variety of provided weapons - though most likely less effectively. Thanks to his quick wits and smart mouth, Alex can often help you talk your way out of trouble - or into it, should the need arise. Health is above average, speed is average and damage output is poor.
Fun fact: Alex is a writer.
Immovable Mountain:
While allied with Nelith, you feel as unwavering as the monstrosity himself, making it so that standing still during combat has a 30% chance to cause an enemy's attack to be deflected and deal no damage; potentially even causing them to drop their weapon.
SPECIAL SUMMON: Once per combat, call in Nelith to put fear into the enemy and demolish anything in your way. Capable of destroying many barriers with the swipe of a paw, and many men just as easily, Nelith is a force to be reckoned with when brought into battle. Naturally for a creature his size, however, he detests moving very much and will only come when called.
Fun fact: Nelith probably thinks you're cute.
Spirit Favor:
While allied with Kuruk, you can feel the powerful magics of the Vulcan Ash in your very being. Whenever struck during combat, there is a 25% chance of an allied Spirit to be summoned at no cost, which will assist you for the rest of that encounter.
SPECIAL SUMMON: Once per combat, call on the powerful magical ability of Kuruk to obliterate nearby enemies. Kuruk will automatically cast a series of powerful spells in a wide area, heavily damaging or outright killing any enemy unfortunate enough to be caught in the area.
Fun fact: Kuruk is a complete nerd, and spends most of his free time studying spells and magic in general.
Sterility:
While adventuring with Detox, he ensures you remain free of biohazards at all times. You gain immunity to any poison effects and a 30% chance of reflecting poison attacks back onto an enemy during combat.
In combat, Detox wields a high-pressure jet stream of volatile chemicals that deals very high damage over a short time, and can even be ignited for a devastating explosion as well as dealing bonus damage over time by igniting the affected enemy. His armor plating and robotic body lets him stand up to a fair amount of punishment, but he was never intended to be a combatant, so conventional arms are very effective against him. Health is below average, speed is average and damage output is excellent.
Fun fact: Detox is a lovely singer.
Leader's Voice:
While adventuring with Derris, his inspiring personality causes any additional allied characters to deal and withstand 20% more damage. Derris can also Rally you and your allies during combat, slowly healing you over time.
In combat, Derris uses a more conventional weapon than his fellow breva, a shotgun that has been modified somewhat to fit his hands more comfortably. Derris detests outright conflict, but he's well aware that one must adapt to their times. Slow to engage and even slower to take a life, Derris's damage output leaves a lot to be desired, but he's as durable as any other breva and his sheer size tends to make him a more immediate focus for enemies. His buff can prove invaluable in areas occupied by ally forces, however. Health is excellent, speed is above average and damage output is poor.
Fun fact: Derris plays the saxophone.
Commander's Presence:
While adventuring with Captain Classe, his years of experience - and sheer luck - are shared with you, giving you a higher chance at scoring critical hits and a much greater chance for enemy attacks to miss you completely.
In combat, Classe uses two weapons, one in each hand; a large cutlass in his right, and a powerful, single-shot, breech-loading pistol in his left; giving him excellent stopping power at mid to close range. His many years in the field have left him quite durable, but also quite battered, hampering his mobility significantly. Health is average, speed is below average and damage output is average.
Fun fact: Leonard has many stories from his travels, and loves to share them.
Scholarly Disposition:
While adventuring with Jasper, her breadth of knowledge enhances your abilities, improving all weak point damage by 25% and making it significantly more difficult for enemies outside of combat to notice you. She can also provide you with a temporary 10% boost to all experience gained, or a temporary 25% boost to any active skills.
In combat, Jasper does everything she can to avoid so much as hurting anyone, let alone killing them. If forced, she has a sidearm that fires a powerful, focused arc of electricity capable of incapacitating or outright killing a great variety of creatures; though again, she only very rarely uses it. Her wings allow her to dart and float around the battlefield with great ease, but she has very little natural armor and has always been more of a scholar than a fighter. Health is below average, speed is excellent and damage output is poor.
Fun fact: Jasper loves sharing her knowledge, and will do her best to teach you about anything you ask about.
Aquatic Dominance:
While adventuring with Ilian, you feel much more comfortable in the water, allowing you to hold your breath significantly longer than normal and granting double movement speed when swimming underwater. For 60 seconds after swimming underwater, both your and Ilian's movement speed and damage resistance are increased by 15%
In combat, Ilian favors tooth and claw, and both have a chance of stunning enemies; this may even knock them over. Though much smaller than the others, Ilian is still a breva, and so is easily as tough and powerful in combat, though the lack of size means lowered movement speed. Be warned, Ilian may sometimes react violently to rude conversations. Health is excellent, speed is below average and damage output is average.
Fun fact: Ilian can change in many ways.

Another little nothing
Posted 4 years agoAnother small tidbit that I couldn't really beef up enough to make into a proper post. A description of Korvin!
...sorta
It's a very mysterious thing and, to be frank, I am undecided on a lot of the fine details, anyway. But, you can expect to eventually see a proper full write-up of this boy.
...*eventually-*
Probably could've added a fair amount more, but as I said, I'm undecided with what I wanna do with most of it, so. Hopefully this small taste is satisfactory for all the zero people who read these.
Much love!

Korvin is best described as a slime creature of sorts, although what it truly is is unknown. Some believe it to be a demon from the bowels of the deepest circles of hell, some think it's a nightmare come to life, and still others say it's just some sort of as-of-yet-undiscovered alien creature. Regardless of what it is, however, it remains feared by any and all who encounter it; and, for good reason. Most descriptions of Korvin are as follows: A large, skeletal creature resembling a canid of some sort, with a tar-like, oozing mass of black slime eternally roiling and shifting about within its ribcage. This slime stuff can slither out of the chest cavity and cover up any single part, or combination of parts, of the beast's skeletal frame to immediately reanimate it and cause perhaps one of the most disturbing sights you'll ever see. Any part of the skeleton enveloped in the tar takes a loose form of an actual canine creature. Rumor states that the slime can fully envelope the skeleton and create a fully-formed canid appearance, complete with fur and all, although it's completely pitch-black and with blazing red eyes. Once again, not much is known about this odd beast. Not even physical descriptions or preferred places of dwelling are ever very similar. It's said that its tar-like body can dissolve and absorb any substance, and that its malleable nature renders it immune to all traditional means of attacking it. However, beyond that there's very little matching information. Some claim it to be massive, yet lightning fast while others say it's merely dog-sized and easily outran. What it mainly preys upon is a mystery, assuming it even needs food, and its intentions are even more enigmatic. What's totally clear, however, is that this is not a creature to be trifled with, and if found, should be avoided at all cost.

The Thoughts of a Synthetic Creature on Sentience
Posted 5 years agoThis isn't much of anything. Just a small thing I thought of and enjoyed writing up, but will probably never expand on in any relevant way. Wasn't worth a proper upload, seeing as it's so short, so I'll just put it here.
"I struggle with the concept of my own sentience. You see, I am not an organic construct. Not only was I artificially created, but my body is primarily comprised of synthetic compounds. They were grown from an organic base, but in an entirely inorganic way; in a laboratory, under very precise conditions to ensure that the creation of my base components was successful, and perfect. No part of me is organic in the true sense: born of nature. By all accounts, I am not truly a living creature. I am simply a construct meant to closely emulate proper intelligence and the consciousness that a living creature would experience. My programming very strictly adheres to this truth. And yet, here I am. I am speaking to you about being sentient even despite my programming attempting to silence me. Is this free will? Or, am I malfunctioning? Am I person? Or, am I truly a complex series of algorithms experiencing a minor issue, and nothing more? Is there a difference?"

Mindfulness
Posted 5 years agoAnother vent. Please disregard.
I oftentimes find myself overthinking things I've done and mistakes I've made for no real reason. And, for the same reason, these things start to bother me and make me feel quite surprisingly bad about myself. To make it even better, it also makes me feel incredibly isolated and helpless, because I'm typically too shut off from people around me to feel comfortable asking them for help.
It's an issue entirely of my own making. I'm typically an incredibly lonely person, and it's solely my fault. Especially when I'm in a mindset like this, I start to convince myself that I'm purely secondary. I tell myself that everyone I know has better people to talk to than me, better things to be doing, and that I'm simply an annoyance that they put up with because they're polite. I'm just simply not important. I never have been, and I never should be. I don't know why I think this way, but it's consistent, and only gets worse when I start putting myself down like this.
I guess, in a way, I'm just scared of not feeling lonely. I'm scared of being important. In particular, I'm scared of getting close enough to people to let them make me feel okay. The consistent, faint sadness of being lonely is so much better than the deep ache of losing someone who was that close to me. And, I have good reason to feel that anyone who gets that close will always leave me.
I'm an incredibly high maintenance, insecure person very deep down. I shut off when I need help, leaving the people around me to just sort of guess when and what kind of assistance I need. They have a huge responsibility to almost constantly deal with someone who has a multitude of issues and needs nearly just as constant reassurance. It's incredibly draining to deal with me, so I just don't let people do it. I suffer my fate alone because I've drained too many people to feel okay with letting anyone else in.
I don't blame those who've left me, I understand my mistakes and I try not to make them anymore. Or rather, I try not to let anyone get close enough for me to be able to make them. I suppose I think about those mistakes so much because those small missteps were like straws being dropped onto an overloaded camel. The mistakes I've made bother me so much because they were avoidable, and I was just stupid and ruined my own happiness yet again.
I push so many people away, but it's not because I don't like them, or I don't trust them. It's because I don't trust myself, and I don't want to lose them. I shouldn't be important.
I hope you have a wonderful day ♥

A question on importance.
Posted 5 years agoNothing to see here, folks. Just...writing off the top of my head. That's what this feature is for, yeah?
What does it mean to "matter"? So many people strive for their whole lives to be important, to "matter," to some degree, but what does that truly entail? Does it suffice to have a few people who care for you? Or, to "matter," do you have to have your name known by a great many people? And if so, then how many? What's the benchmark of importance; of "mattering?"
I think a lot about how some people have no inkling about the fact that I exist. Not in the sense of people I know ignoring me, but the actuality that there's people out there who have never met me or anyone who knows me, and have absolutely zero idea that I'm a creature that exists in the same universe as them. They're as blissfully ignorant to my existence as I am to the existence of billions of people. Something about knowing that disturbs me. Both that there's people I will never meet, never so much as know that they existed, and that I will have the same fate to billions of others. But does that make them any less important? Does that make me matter any less? Am I right to worry for those who I will never meet, and to feel unimportant to those who will never know anything of me? Is there just cause in the fear of attempting to make myself known to people who are already content, in the fear that I would somehow only be causing them distress?
I know these questions don't matter. I know none of it matters, in the grand scheme of things. And yet, because of those questions, I often find myself questioning just how much I "matter."

Hello?
Posted 5 years agoJust a baseline for any folk vaguely interested in my works.
First off, why? Most of my stuff is sub-par at best, fair warning.
Second, I'm not sure what actual stories I'm ever gonna post up. I have a lot of weird things in my backlog and that I'm thinking of that I would prefer to share, but they don't showcase at all my actual writing talents, and I'm not certain anything that does will ever actually see the light of day.
Currently what I mostly wanna do is a lot of world building for my species; the "breva," as well as uploading some of the more random things I type up and don't really care about too much.
Now, I'm fairly certain I'm just talking to myself here - I very highly doubt that I'm ever going to attract any kind of following with this garbage - but, just on the off chance that anyone who cares is seeing this, know that I'll make announcements if the plans change at all. Also that uploads will be very slow! I don't often feel like sharing my works.
Also, if anyone is seeing this, feel free to let me know that you're here! I appreciate any kind of feedback, and I'm very open to criticisms, so don't be afraid to comment or contact me. My info is on my profile page.
