COMMISSIONS SATUS + Opening

Due to a good deal of notes regarding the subject, I'm releasing the following notice to all commissioners with outstanding commissions:
I am well aware that some of you have been waiting quite a while for your commissions, but I am working as hard and as fast as possible to complete everyone's commissions in the order they were received.
I recently decided that the best way to do that while keeping everyone happy would be to do a rather large sketch dump (about 15 sketches at a time). That way, everyone waiting will at least have a sketch while they wait for their commission to be completed. I will be doing these sketch dumps every so often, and completing commissions between them. The goal of this method is so that everyone will know that I haven't run off with their money, so to speak, and that I'm making a tremendous effort to reduce and eventually completely finish off my backlog. I've already started on this current sketch dump and plan to complete at least one a weekday. Each commissioner will receive their sketch via note as they are completed, however, I will post the sketches here on FA as the batch is completed. I thank you all again for your patience, and look forward to completing all your commissions!

Just letting you all know that I'll be starting work again on commissions very soon.
I would be already be working on them, but I seem to have brought home the lovely "con crud" from FWA, and I think I'm still fighting my earlier sinus infection as well, on top of seasonal allergies.
So, as much as I would love to be working on art right now (I'm still super inspired and itching to draw after the con), it's gonna have to wait a few more days until this sickness passes.

FWA 2016 After Action Report
Posted 9 years agoHoly crap, got back last night and passed the fuck out, slept til 3pm today. I didn't even realize how drained this con left me! @.@;;;
Aside from all that, let's get into the meat of it :V
I can confidently say that FWA 2016: Camp Furry Weekend was without a doubt the best con experience I've had so far. Everything went off without a hitch, and everything was just fun! This year was also my first time dealing (I sold prints, stickers, and badges for those wondering), and I honestly expected it to suck big ol' donkey dong. I was wrong however, and had a great time dealing, it made it much easier to meet people and find old friends, and gave me something to do when there were no exciting or relevant to me panels going on, and allowed for some great quality time with Sirkus (who I shared a table with) and our friend Fang (who assisted us with dealing, thanks again so much). I did okay as far as sales go, I at least paid for my table (and a really cool bulldog harness for my suit), and I really didn't expect to do that well. There was a lot of really talented competition, so I'm not surprised that I pretty much only broke even :p BUT, it was still a ton of fun and can't wait to deal again at Megaplex in August.
The rooms at the Marriot Marquis (the con hotel) were even more awesome than I remember, and have some of the most comfy beds I've ever slept on. There was plenty of room for everyone's things (including 3 fursuits!) and really warm welcoming decorating inside the main part of the room. It felt like a nice little slice of home to flop into bed in every night. I only wish the bathrooms were a little bigger, and shared the awesome atmosphere from the bedroom. BUT OH WELL :V
There is a drastic drawback to this hotel though. It unfortunately comes in the form of the air conditioning outside of private rooms not being able to be turned down too much, or a literal cloud will form at the 47th floor and it will start to rain inside (talk about a bad design flaw, jesus fucking christ). This meant that the con space was a little warmer than it should have been for suiters, but this was negatable by pacing yourself and taking regular trips to the absolutely freezing inside headless lounge and hydrating properly. This is the thing I have the most issue with at the con, but fortunately its pretty much the only thing. The elevators are pretty fast, staff was a lot more friendly than last year, and check in/out was very frustration free. Parking was a bit of a fiasco, but when is it not. My favorite thing about this hotel's location is that its attatched to a mall via a skybridge that has (wait for it) a sushi restaurant that's relatively cheap and hella yummy for the price. I literally ate sushi every day for lunch without breaking the bank (or not getting enough to fill me up), and that made my inner orca/otter very very very happy and fat :V There were a few other restaurants, but other than DQ I didn't really fancy any of them.
The conspace consists of mainly the bottom floor, but there are two other floors above it connected by two sets of escalators that feature Starbucks on one level, and an open bar on the other. So, needless to say, congoers were all over these three floors. All three were super fun to suit on, the escalators made it super easy to do so, and non-congoing hotel guests really seemed to be entertained by us being there (this is something I've noticed about Atlanta, most people love the idea of us furries or at least tolerate it better than most). I didn't really attend any panels save for opening and closing ceremonies, but there really weren't any that appealed to me enough for me to actually attend (or I was stuck in dealer's til closing). So, any time I was outside of dealers, I was suiting as much as possible. I know I saw a few of you there, and if you've got any pictures with me (or of me) in suit, please send them my way!
I really loved meeting new people, as well as connecting with old friends. I was also just overwhelmed with the sheer amount of talent in the dealer's den. Both have left me really inspired and more confident that I want to stay connected with this fandom, and try my hardest to improve myself and my art to better serve it. I love this community so much, and this con really made me realize just how much I could never do without it.
So overall, I'll give FWA 2016: Camp Furry Weekend a solid 9/10, and I will 100% be attending (and dealing at) FWA 2017: GAME ON!

1. There will only be 5 slots this time!
2. Commenting does in NO WAY, get you a slot. You have to follow the same procedure as everyone else!
Commissions will no longer be completed in order of slots. Rather, I will work on whichever one I'm in the mood for, can get them done faster that way... but they will still probably be done in relative order.

I'll be opening around 5pm (GMT - 5:00) on Friday, February 26th!! Other than that, the process will remain the same, ect, blah, blah, blah. Please read both links above (or below). It should also be noted this is the last time I will be opening commissions this month!
I WILL ONLY BE OPENING 5 SLOTS THIS TIME.
And a note to those whom I still owe commissions: DON'T DESPAIR, I HAVEN'T FORGOTTEN ABOUT YOU ='D I've been working my tail off lately with everyone's commissions and if you haven't seen a sketch soon, you can expect one in the VERY near future!
