WILL BE OFFLINE IN A MATTER OF HOURS (TWITTER MAYBE)
Posted 13 years agoThis is it. This is the last communication you will get from me through FA until several days to several weeks from now. I'll be either riding out the storm at my workplace, or at my house if traffic absolutely will not allow me to get to work. (Thank you jackasses from New Orleans waiting until the last damn second to evacuate >.<)
schtherealist on Twitter is your best chance to hear updates IF ANY that I'm able to post. FOLLOW IT IF YOU HAVE NOT ALREADY DONE SO lol. I'm not going to log onto this site from my workplace's internet if I can even get access to it. I know for sure my workplace will have electricity. Hospitals, broadcast media outlets and government offices are all guaranteed to have emergency generators running during storms :P
As for the storm itself, it doesn't seem QUITE as ominous as it did since it isn't even a hurricane at THIS LATE stage of the game. That and the forecast tracks have shifted slightly more toward the east than they were. I'm hoping it won't be too terrible for Baton Rouge.
AND MOST OF ALL THANK YOU AGAIN
dynastygoddess for offering me a place to stay if it takes them too long to get electricity restored here.
See all of you on the other side I guess.

OMFG This Is Amazing! (New Tablet)
Posted 13 years agoI went to Best Buy today just to look and see if they had any HD/SDi video camcorders capable of recording 24P footage, unfortunately they didn't. However, a Wacom Intuos4 box nearby caught my eye, and lo and behold they wanted 30 or so dollars LESS than Wacom THEMSELVES wanted for it. I did not pass this opportunity up. So now my old Genius GPen with the stylus nearing the snapping-in-two point has been officially replaced. AND OMG THIS NEW THING IS SO FUCKING SMEXY :Q_________________________
*happysquee*
I think I'm gonna love doing art now, rather than loathing it. Perhaps it was the uphill battles, awkward hand positioning and tired fingers I was having to fight with while using the old tablet that made me not want to do art anymore... which this should eliminate completely!! @.@

Music Writing/Mixing/Mastering Taken Priority
Posted 13 years agoMy music writing, as well as mixing already-written songs and mastering the album has taken utmost priority... even over art. I want this thing finished by October so I can copyright it before the end of the year and get it sent off to a record company for possible distribution.
So that's what I've been up to and why nothing new has been posted the past couple weeks.

What The Heck Is This Nabyn Thing?
Posted 13 years agoI've heard of a lot of people talk about being members on Nabyn lately, and I have no idea what it is. Figuring it was another art site, I went there with intentions of registering to try to take my username and prevent anyone from impersonating me. However, I got this message saying it was invite-only kinda the way demonoid.me is.
Anyone know what the site is -really- about and why it would be invite-only like that? I'm scratching my head here.

Random Question For All My Watchers....
Posted 13 years agoClearing off my 4-month-old journal, so here's a question for all of you:
Who do you find my style most closely matches, of all the other people you watch? I've asked a couple people so far, and they have been unable to answer that question. Claims are, I have a very unique style, but just out of curiosity, I want to see what a few other people think :3

Is It A Bad Thing That...
Posted 13 years agoIs it a bad thing that my only real want for a birthday gift is for today (my birthday) and the entire holidays to be done and over with?
Technically, I don't much see a point in the existence of the Christmas holiday if not everyone is gonna get to enjoy it, ya know? And I'm sure a lot of you other people out there who have to work overtime for the holidays feel pretty much the same way. Who's with me on this? >.>

My 3am Commute To Work Got 10x More Annoying.
Posted 14 years agoEvery time I run the heater it's the same damned thing: Fog. On the front windshield. On the INSIDE of the car where the windshield wipers can't clear it. So I have to grab a towel and press extremely hard against the glass and wipe the windshield every 2-3 minutes of my commute until it's sufficiently warm inside that I can turn the heater off. Which lasts for five minutes and then it gets cold again. Rinse, lather repeat process.
So yeah, not sure what's causing it or why it's happening. I don't remember having this issue last year. And it doesn't make sense why the interior would fog up when it's on the heater and not the A/C. I can understand it fogging up on a muggy summer night on the OUTSIDE of the car from me running the A/C, much the same way condensation forms on the side of a glass with iced drink inside. But this isn't the same kind of fogging over: it doesn't present large droplets of moisture. It's a very fine mist that requires me to put some serious muscle behind the towel I wipe the surface with, only to have it come back within minutes, as I said earlier.
So very frustrating, and I've got no real answers why it's happening.
'91 Toyota Camry, by the way.
So here I go, off to deal with this again when I go to leave for work in just a few minutes from now -_-

Anyone Know Of a Good RSS Feed Creator That's Free?

I'm Hoping 7 Months of No Art Has Come to an End...
Posted 14 years agoHopefully I will soon be able to get new arts up. Hopefully. Not making any promises, but I believe I may be inspired to draw again. I think. Possibly. Yeah we'll go with that. I guess we'll see what happens.
I'm thinking about possibly posting up some unfinished works from as far back as 2009... if you guys would want to see that. Let me know, via comments here, if any of you would be interested in that. I may finish a few of them sometime soon.

Massive Drive Failure
Posted 14 years agoHOORAY BE UNTO THE ENTIRE WORLD I GOT MY FILES BACK! Error-Checking in Windows solved it :3
After two years of use, the Western Digital MyBook external hard disk I have partially corrupted. Unfortunately the part of it that corrupted was the sector containing the most important files I own. The folders they were in don't even show up in Windows Explorer, as though they don't even exist on the disk anymore. Yes, that sector contained all my reference images, all my art, all of my music, and a few other things I've recently worked with. All that remains on the disk are the files I really -don't- absolutely need. Naturally I'm freaking the fuck out about having to get a new disk drive possibly.
The good news out of this? I have at least 95% if not 100% of this stuff arrayed across two other disk drives, so I really haven't lost anything except for what I was working on today (about 10 files off the net that I can easily re-download).
So pretty much I'm gonna have to scramble later on today to salvage what's left on the disk, reformat it and recreate all the directory structures I lost by copying over all my backups.

Yep. The floods they are a-comin' and stuff. At least where I'm at is on a kind of higher elevation point than the surrounding areas. Also winds. Some winds expected. And that usually means electricity outages. Might be gone a couple days if that's the case.

Shitty Neighbors
Posted 14 years ago... have decided again that it's a good idea to shoot hand guns and rifles randomly at 10:30PM on a school night, with children living across the street from their trailer. Last week and week before last they decided that setting off fireworks on a school night at 9PM when there's a burn ban in effect was also a good idea. I do not understand what kind of logic makes people do things like this, I really don't. If it's someone baked out on meth like I suspect, I want to steer as far clear of that as physically possible. I dare not call the police on these people for fear of retaliation of some sort.
So yeah, this is the kind of thing I'm talking about when I say I fear for my life to step outside my own house. Not trying to sound pissy in any way, I just feel this way because of the drug problems where I live :/

Another Car Accident, Not As Bad This Time.
Posted 14 years agoI don't feel so absolutely horrible about this one, because it wasn't my fault and was pretty much unavoidable. I did not get ticketed, and my car sustained even less damage than the accident I got in back in February because our vehicles clipped more so than actually collided.
I was going down a highway at around 50 mph (school zone was not in effect at the time). As I was approaching the elementary school in the curve, a person began pulling out into the road and maybe 2 or 3 feet of the front of the vehicle was in my lane. The person stopped, after probably having seen me I'm assuming. I began -really- slowing down gradually to make a move into the left lane to avoid the person's stopped vehicle, but noticed by that time there was a car coming at me in the left lane. It was either get into a head-on collision or clip the front of the person's vehicle. After slamming my brakes on, I made my best attempt to aim for the window between the stopped vehicle in my lane and the car coming at me, but I unfortunately was fish-tailing too much to really have that accurate of control over where I was going. I ended up clipping the front of the stopped vehicle.
Luckily this time I was not ticketed as it seems I wasn't considered in the wrong. And as I said my vehicle is far more drivable post-accident than last time. My headlight is crooked and my right quarter panel is caved in, but that's literally all the damage I took. No tires will need replacing this time, and most likely no repair to the framework will be necessary.
I will say this tho: If I had actually pulled off that ninja move where I successfully fit right through that window between the cars I'd be like "Oh yeah I'm the best damn driver EVER!" >.>

Nonexistant Art Mood. (Kind of bitchy, ignore if you want)
Posted 14 years agoI'm gonna spare all of you the vast majority of the details, but pretty much I've got creditors threatening me because I'm having difficulty paying my student loans since I'm only making 600 dollars a month. Food/gasoline/car insurance comes first, and whatever's left over goes to paying loans. That doesn't work anymore, as my savings have shrunken significantly with me dipping into them every month.
Yeah I kinda bought the monitor mentioned in my last journal on impulse as something to help cheer me up, and I really shouldn't have. Too late to return it though.
My dad is almost done with the wage garnishment they imposed on him for 6 months after my parents filed bankruptcy, but unfortunately his hours have been cut and he may be laid off entirely from the retail job he got last year. Given my monthly income, I've had to rely on my parents for housing and such since every apartment in existence is more a month than my total paycheck. I'm not so certain that will be doable anymore.
Things have been on a steep downhill track for me these past three years, and I'm not sure how far down the bottom is, nor how long I'll be there. Needless to say this has killed any kind of mood to do much of anything at all, most certainly erotic art. I go to draw something and it seems like nothing more than an uphill battle and a struggle.
So that's why I haven't posted anything lately and why it may be several months before I post anything serious again. And, I hate to say it, but if things continue the way they are going, I may not have a means with which to do art nor to communicate with anyone online in the near future.

23" Widescreen Monitor ZOMG I CAN SEE WHAT I'M DOING NOW!
Posted 14 years agoWent out and purchased a 23" widescreen Acer LED monitor. They were on sale for 169... only 10 dollars more than the 20" So I said what the hell I'll get three extra inches for 10 whole dollars more.
OMG I'VE NEVER SEEN SUCH SHARPNESS AND BEAUTIFUL QUALITY IN MY LIFE @_____@
And it's HUUUUUUUUGE. Like seriously I can work on a very large image now and not have to do it section by section.
Okay I can officially say it doesn't take much to make me happy. Lol
Hopefully this has the effect I wanted and makes it easier for me to do art than before, thus getting me out of my "I Can't Draw" funk and actually producing good stuff again! KEEP YER FINGERS CROSSED PLEEZE >.>

Serious Questions....
Posted 14 years agoIs it just me or is this portion of your contact lists all shrinking as well? Seriously it's difficult for me to ever catch anyone available or even signed in anymore. A few I wonder where the hell they even went... just disappeared without a trace.
Updates on my Webcomic. I about give up on ComicGenesis. Seriously I can't figure the fucking thing out so screw it. Ya know that folder called "Public HTML" that you're supposed to upload your template to? Yeah that folder is read-only apparently. And I don't feel up to the task of fighting with it. So it'll just be (once again) a subdirectory of my main site.
I need to rebuild my cache of 5 or so comics before I can do anything anyway. And with my art production going so slow, that could take weeks >.< Really I don't know what has happened to me, I'm unable to produce anything that looks anywhere close to decent anymore.
So here's the question: How many of you out there are actually concerned with me getting every last detail of an image perfect before posting it up? If the majority of you aren't, I'll go ahead and post things even though I can't draw worth a damn right now. But if the lot of you out there would rather wait till I can do decent stuff before putting it up, then I'll wait to post things.

-Insert That Song By R.E.M. Here- (Judgment Day, Pffft)
Posted 14 years agoIT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT.
...... or not.
No seriously, coming from the hyper-religious, inbred Southern U.S. family that I do, I figured I'd insert my two cents on this whole hypocrisy.
Earthquake that will open all graves? Are you kidding me? No earthquake in the history of the world has ever been strong enough to do that in an area larger than 2000 square miles. The Earth is into the hundreds of thousands of square miles in surface area. Not likely to happen.
And secondly, the idea of a "rapture" the way everyone talks about is simply unrealistic. As is common knowledge, this alleged "heaven" exists in the energy realm. And to convert such massive amounts of mass into energy without destroying pretty much everything on Earth is impossible. Only a -global- nuclear war could generate such force. And that sort of thing is NOT selective in whom and what gets obliterated in its path. Study Einstein's Relativity, people... and get a clue! XP
So beyond the shadow of a doubt, unless a worldwide nuclear war is started and escalated to its peak in a matter of 12 hours, today is most definitely NOT Judgment Day. End of subject.
And that's what I have to say about the subject.
Side note: Expect the possibility of new arts soon :3

Unannounced Hiatus :<
Posted 14 years agoI've been doing other things (mainly playing around on SecondLife) the past couple months since the shut-down of Furtopia. I did get an account with Comic Genesis now, but I need to figure out how it works before I can seriously commit to doing it. I don't have the patience right now. Nor do I have the patience for art anymore. I'm absolutely disgusted with how long it takes me to produce just one comic strip (2-3 days working 8 or so hours, not including color), along with how much I've slipped as far as anatomy is concerned. It seriously got to the point I wanted to throw my tablet across the room several times a day, and that's when I know I need to back off for a while. Which I am doing.
Naturally the dates of the comics that weren't released during the past few weeks will be shifted from their original intended release dates, pending me figuring out how to completely customize the layout to look like my Furtopia page on the new Comicgenesis site. Assistance from you guys would be much appreciated in this matter.
I'm not sure when I'll feel up to the task of producing art again, and I know for sure I'll miss producing artwork for holidays I wanted to (like tomorrow's No-Pants Day)... but I seriously doubt I'd be happy with anything I produce at the moment much less be able to finish anything on time.
That is all.

COMICGENESIS... Anyone Know Anything About It?
Posted 14 years agoIs it a good place to host a comic, and if so, is it 100% and completely free to host? Does it allow you complete control over the page layout (except for the ad banner of course)? I'm considering moving The Bottomless Life there since Furtopia shut down.
Feedback please, if any of you know someone who hosts a comic there or if you yourself host a comic.

As of just a few hours ago, due to their budget issues, everything on Furtopia was pulled offline and remains offline as of this journal's creation. This was completely unexpected and unannounced. So now I must find a new host to put all my art on. This means no more comic page, no more forums, no more BG hub site, etc. until I find a suitable host.
My apologies for this inconvenience, I didn't know about it until just a few minutes ago.

Ask My Character Anything! (This could be fun)
Posted 14 years agoI've seen a few other people do it, so I figured why the heck not? It'll distract me from the current three panel comic I'm working on which has so many anatomy errors I'm about ready to throw my tablet across the room again.
SOOoooooooo... that being said, post comments asking my primary character Sarah questions and I'll reply with roughly what she would say in response.

What the HELL is with the My Little Pony obsession lately???
Posted 14 years agoEvery tenth or so submission in my inbox has something to do with it, a good 70% of them adult rated. Before Wednesday of last week I'd see maybe one image related to MLP every 500 submissions or less frequent. That was okay, cos I could just ignore it and move on. Now it's one out of roughly ever ten I get in. Seriously, WTF is goin on guys????
Let me explain reasons why I find FA's recent obsession with MLP disturbing:
1) Aren't they all underage?
2) Wasn't the original TV show geared toward children?
3) Doesn't that kinda seem like cub porn (in reference to the adult rated images)????
Come on gaiz, it's just creepy. And I think I bring up some very valid points here. Do feel free to contest them if you have decent evidence that suggests I'm way off in left field somewhere.

Car Accident and stuff
Posted 14 years agoCar accident. Someone was dead-stopped on the roughly 500-foot-long on-ramp to the interstate in the middle of the road. I was trying to merge quickly into traffic and I checked my blind spot. When I turned my head back around I saw the vehicle completely stopped, put the brakes on but it was too late. Lots of screeching, burned tires and I rear-ended the vehicle.
I'm in a world of shit now as I have a court date sometime in March and a traffic ticket of an unknown amount probably in the thousands, not to mention the phenomenal cost of the insurance claim and the very high possibility of a lawsuit by the other party. This will most likely put me completely in debt so far in the negatives I won't be able to put any money on my student loans, they'll default, I'll get sued by the loan company and that'll be the end of my employment most likely.
Expect major delays in production of new artworks, especially the launching of the Webcomic.
