This sucks complete ass unfortunately. I had been involved in a hit and run last night and my care is literally limping around town. I don't care about the cosmetic portion, its the driver side suspension that I care about for its bent and needing to be replaced. Sounds simple enough right? Well my car is 18 years old and parts for it are steadily going up everyday along with the value of my car. Because I don't have comp/collision coverage, my insurance can't help me. But if I get it fixed, I'll get put out of my home because I won't have the cash till the next week. If I pay for my home, then I can't head out and go to work because my car is unsafe for highway travel. My job is five cities away and none of my co workers live near me to help me with a ride. I need help but I don't know how to get any at this point. I'll end up without a car, home, and even a job soon. What can I do at this point?

One thing I don't like seeing is people in distress, whatever that distress might be.  sledmetodeath is falling on some hard times and needs some financial help with paying his electric bill. As a Texan, electricity is important because Mother Nature is no joke. Canada ain' no excption. It gets brutally cold up there at times and no electricity usually means no heat. No heat means you gotta bare the cold like Bear Grills. So if you would be so kind to send him a few bucks his way. Even if its a dollar, every cent counts. He only needs $300. Please...go help him

Everyone knows what a car is, but what is a car supposed to be? Nowadays, cars are rolling computers full of unneeded information distracting the driver at every turn...except for GPS I guess, but that's besides the point! I look at all these cars and...they aren't really that stylish. I looked at the new Stingray a few days ago and even sat in it. The 7 speed tranny was interesting, but I felt like I was in nothing but a shell of what its supposed to be. Compared to its daddy the C3 1969 Stingray or its granddaddy the C2 1963 Stingray, they'd both be complaining how sissified the C7 looks. Even compact sport cars have gotten heavier over the years such as the Miata and CRX. . The new Miata looks like it wants to beat and bully the original Miata into oblivion, but its not the same light sports car we (or at least I) grew up with. And the new "CRX" is just what happens when a CRX and an Insight have sex and spit out a CRZ. It looks like a CRX, but as an owner of a '90 CRX, it doesn't have the same feel or exhilarating feel of driving a light sport compact. Mine is a stock base model with 93 HP and a 5 speed, but mine feels quicker to throw and toss around turns a bit compared to the CRZ or even the CRZ Alpha. In the CRZ, I feel like I will understeer into the curb, even with the 6 speed. I was never a Honda guy, but I do appreciate the models for what they are. The older ones anyways. Hell even the Civics are fat asses to their 90s and early 2000s bretheren. Though I will admit you can cusomize them much more. Then there are the fun models folk wish that were still being made today like the MR2 or the Celica, or the RSX. Just those light sports cars that gave everyday drab driving a bit of excitement. But I fear that if they are brought back, they won't be as fun to drive. Back in the day when ABS and airbags were considered premium options in cars, it was just you and your driving skills that kept you and your car from around a pole. My CRX has 240K miles and a custom paint job. Nothing more. No modifications to make it faster or anything like that. But other than that Honda Reliability, it was driving skill that kept the car from smashed into a tree because everybody knows these young folk can't drive worth a damn.

just keep in mind this is my opinion on old vs new model cars by using a few Japanese and American examples. I can tell you everything about cars and their makers from 1886 to 2025 if you want including rise and downfall. But one thing to remember is this is still just my Opinion.

So...I lost my job this week and the dispute over what happened is gonna take a while. For those of you who know, I have a CRX and it runs perfectly. It sounds akin to a 75 beetle but it just makes driving it all the more fun. Anyways, I always thought a cat is something along the lines of a pet. You take care of it and it will love and take care of you. Well so far whenever I'm alone in the car, nothing happens out of the ordinary. But whenever anyone else sits in the passenger seat, something always goes wrong such as smoke coming from the dash or less horsepower. Though when I take it into the shop to get it looked at, its a clean bill of health. I took Purple Haze (Because its a nice shade of metallic purple) to several shops and they all came back the same. Nothing unusual. Maybe my car just likes me and me only. Thoughts?
