This might sound out of character, but i'm not one to get mad all the time. However. there are big enough things that grind my effing gears. Grab some popcorn and a folding chair, this is gonna be one for the history books:

I get a request from a random user/watcher/friend for me to draw their character (you know who you are >:(. It's pretty straight forward. This person gives me the reference, as well as any additional stuff they want for the pic. Pretty nice fellow.

*lineart finished* "sweet! let me send this to the guy/gal for them to see before I post it" (which I don't really do too often)

*wait for a response*

Response: "Oh, hey there! I'm liking the pic..... kinda... I thought you were gonna draw it in this style
(-link for a pic I did 13 months ago-). And not only that, you forgot to draw the wings.

*initiate rage mode: level 98*

"Seriously?" I say as I repeatedly pound my head into a concrete slab of WUT. He/She didn't even give so much as a HINT that their character had wings *pouts*

4 hours... it took 4 HOURS to get this pic done. Naturally I responded with "i'm done". As I punched my wall with the fist of a thousand gods (not really).

Moral of the story.... I dunno.. I didn't learn anything T_T

In all seriousness, though. He/She was very nice and understanding when I refused to continue, and I guess sometimes, its just the result of bad communication or wrong assumptions being made. Either way, I'm glad to get it off my chest :)

Please do NOT let this deter you from asking for a request, since i'm fairly confident not all of you act like this :D

(and don't worry, I wont post a journal like this if you do :P)

Long time, no journal

Glad that I have the means and the time to get back on the site. For the longest time, I had been struggling with stuff. As a result, I've changed somewhat (alot can happen in 6 months '^_^)

Had some growing up to do and came to a strong realization: I was very naive. Naive enough to make decisions that I couldn't follow up on. How I've distanced myself for the longest time from people that I hold very dear to me.

With that out of the way, I feel that this the beginning of something nice, a fresh start. I mean this in the nicest way possible. As from now, It's going to be clean slate, meaning that any requests for drawings, comics, stories that I took up in the past are now void. And sadly enough, I wont be partaking in any rp'ing either. I might be taking new requests, but please don't take it personally If I decline.

I deeply apologize. It tears me apart to think that I'll be disappointing many of those that had made requests. For a long time, I had trouble saying "NO" to people, which is why I gladly took on board anything that anyone noted me.

I know better now.

Ill be working on my art and dropping by skype from time to time.

I want to be able to start animation commissions. But before I do, I need to know how long it takes, what I like/can do, and I need the practice.

So today I will be starting completely free animation commissions!

The type of animations I want to make involve taking a ready-made image, cutting out the moving bits and animating them.

So to get your free animation, just send me a link to your artwork you want animated in the form of a comment or note. The artwork must be yours or you must have the artist’s permission. Also tell me what you want to happen in the animation and watch this account and share this journal. If you can send me the .psd file of your artwork it will save me a lot of time.

If you’re not sure if your picture can be animated or if you have any questions you can send me a comment or note. For now I have no rules on what I will or wont do, I guess I will find out what I’m comfortable animating by doing these free animations. But only one animation per person please. I cannot guarantee that I will be able to animate every submission, but I will do my best.

Sorry if i've seemed quite distant quite recently. I'm very touched that some of you we're concerned.

About three days ago, my computer overheated and got busted. Couldn't start it back up again. So I sent it off to be repaired, and according to the people having a look at it, it's repairable. It'll take at least a week to have it repaired :'(.

In the meantime, I'm using my friends PC to submit any work I had saved (god bless cloud storage :D). She's also been kind enough to let me draw and update my stuff on it.

she has been hesitant to let me use skype on it though, but I'm not going to push my luck anytime soon.

after being given permission, I had been trying to connect to skype on her sisters mini ipad, but it keeps logging me out abruptly >:(

Worst vacation ever...

A story that I had sent to me from a friend I know that's studying in America:

It was my first day at school, I didn't know what to expect. I walked through the front gates with my heavy school bag eager to get to class early. Upon entering the class, the bell rang, signalling the start of first period.

It was an introductory session, where the teacher would do rollcall and ask each student to stand at the front of the class and talk about themselves. Naturally, one by one, our names we're called. I was nervous when it came to my turn, but I think I managed to pull through without embarassing myself too much. I then took my seat. Next, the teacher announced "and finally, we have henry. Come to the front...".

That was the first time I saw Henry. He was a student who was, I would then discover, the focal point of everyone's insults and ridicule.

Why?, you may ask. Henry was 14, 5'9 and weighed 310 pounds.

He made his way to the front, hearing snickering and stood valiantly in front of the sea of judgemental eyes.

He simply said: "My name is Henry and one day, I'd like to be an astronaut for NASA."

The entire class burst out in laughter (excluding myself). I felt so sorry for the guy. I couldn't imagine the pain of what he was going through. Everyone eventually settled down, and the teacher continued with the lesson and Henry sat back down.

After what seemed to be a lifetime, it was finally reccess. I met up with a friend from a different class, (someone who I knew before starting at the school) and we started talking about the day so far. I mentioned the incident in class with Henry to her, to which she replied "Poor guy... I kinda feel bad for him".

She then went on to explain that his abusive father walked out on him and his mother when he was around 3. His mother died from a drug overdose 11 years later. He never went to fostercare, so he had to fend for himself for the past 2 years.

After hearing that, I headed off to the playground. There he was, sitting on a bench in the corner, secluded, staring at the ground. I decided to approach him to cheer the guy up. "hey there" I said. He slowly tilted his head upwards, and gave me the biggest smile (probably the only one he's pulled in a while). The look in his eyes was that of relief, the sort of "thank you for freeing me from this pain of lonliness" look.

I sat down next to him and we started talking. He led the entire conversation with his fascination of rocket ships and outer space. For the entire duration of reccess, I noticed that he didn't have a lunch box and hadn't eaten. His jaw was almost trembling when I offered him a lemon hard candy my mom packed for me that day. At first, he humbly declined, claiming that he wasn't hungry, so I placed it in his hand and told him to save it for when he is hungry (God knows how long he hadn't had anything to eat).

As reccess was about to end, a group of kids from our class confronted him, and underlying voices uttered "what makes you think a fat f&$k like you would even fit in space?", "I don't think they make space suits that big", "They might mistake you for being a planet". What was henry's response to such cruel statements?.. he smiled. Whatever comments would destroy the average persons self esteem, he would respond with a smile. Everytime. I could only stand there, because I was too cowardly to do or say anything.

As school dragged on over the months, we spoke every reccess and sometimes in class. he'd never mention the cruelty of the other kids. He'd tell me space facts and I'd share any extra food I could spare with him. The bullying never seemed to stop, nor did the teachers make any effort to do anything about it after I informed them time after time.

Eventually, Henry stopped coming to class because he couldn't afford the fees. I wanted to check and see if he was okay, but he didn't have a phone I could contact him on nor a computer. I invited him over for dinner a few times before he left, but I never had a chance to see where he lived because his pride would never allow it. So I searched, when I could, for him.

2 weeks later. It was during a weekend. I was watching tv with my sister, when the headlines
"2 murdered in driveby" plastered the screen. My heart sank when I saw the face of the victims photos that they broadcasted.

On saturday morning, at 3:52 a.m. Henry was murdered in an alleyway during a driveby in the local town. Being gunned down whilst sleeping in a cardboard box, he died on the scene.

A fourteen year old boy just died. My special space buddy had just passed away.

Yes, there was the drama. Tears were shed, investigations conducted, but they didn't make a difference. Henry wasn't coming back. All that was left of his memory was the box he lived in, along with a book titled "a guide to outer space" and some pictures of space shuttles and rockets he liked to draw.

The state was kind enough to fund the funeral. The funeral that noone attended except me and two other officials. I stood there, in absolute emotional pain. This guy had suffered so much agony in his life. No one showed him a single ounce of kindness, even from birth. Every waking second seemed to get darker for him, yet he marched on. Never once troubling anyone, yet people still rejected him. That life was just too sad.

I tried to move on, but I could never forget him.

It's four months later, and i'd received a package after attending the reading of the last will and testament with my parents.

I've arrived home to open it.

inside: A lemon hard candy and a paper with the words "reach for the stars" written.

The Exams I mean XD

In light of this awesome news, I have decided to get my head out of the books and into my tablet. Sure, I'll still have projects to finish, but at least now I'll have more free time :)

In light of this, I have decided to dedicate next week to fill out the remainder of my requests and gifts.

Just wanted to let you know the next request I post will be the last.... for now.

Yes, I know I still owe some requests, and rest assured, I WILL fulfill those, but for the moment it'll be too time consuming. Time that I need to focus on university studies.

Don't worry, it won't last too long. Soon as I complete my projects, I'll be back to posting on here.

In the meantime I'll be browsing (i.e not dead).

Hey guys another update (since the last one was like 5 months ago O__O)

I got sometime off from studying and have enrolled in secondary art classes (practicing with acrylics and stuff). During my time off, I've decided to be more focused on fa. This site really does have appeal to it. It's great to see so many artists out there dishing their stuff out.

Just a few useful tips I've found during my studies:

- I always draw with music. That way, I get a better vision of what I'm drawing. I've recently gotten into hollywood undead XD

- when sketching, always blockout your rough shapes. try to avoid drawing lines to connect joints

- Dont rely on a tablet too much. Sketch your stuff traditionally with hard or soft pencils (I use a 2h) and then touch up on your pc.

- before you start inking flip your drawing around, and you'll see all the area that dont quite seem right.


And finally, make sure you're having fun. Sure, we all get a little annoyed when we can draw those eyes perfectly, or if those hands seem a little whack. If you get stuck on perspective, take a few steps back and give yourself a break for like 5 minutes. Afterwards, when you come back you'll be like "OMGzzzz, tH15 5tuff iz Eazy nao!!!111one!!". If that doesn't happen, then you'll get it later.

What matters is that you don't give up, no matter what >8(

Hey guys, righter here!

Since, I've been on FA, i've met alot of people, had some laughs and drew some stuff, but right now..... I stand before two paths, and I'm not sure which one I should choose.

You see, I've never really had the motivation to make a comic, and I totally love making them, the question is...... what about the colouring? I never knew colouring would be so difficult. My ultimate goal is to provide quality pictures to make people happy, but I still have a long way to go. so here are my choices:

1. continue making the comic day to day, working out the kinks. Fool around in the programs to see which is best?

2. Generally make artwork, porn, requests or otherwise, until i've gotten colouring down to a fine art. Once, I achieve this, I apply this developed understanding to the rest of the comic to make it look better.

So there they are, any suggestions? I could really use some advice.
