Posted a year agoThis is an informational post regarding consequences to certain actions. I had been doing them silently before, but since they include blacklisting and blocking I figured it would be right to be public about it if you wanted to avoid such consequences going forward. Now this does have a lot to do with the rise of A.I., so beforehand know I have no problem with A.I. existing at all, I just believe in consent, and a person should need my consent to use my art in A.I.. You can ask to use individual pieces for A.I., I may even say yes (and I would mark whether it has on that submission to avoid secondary asks- including who asked, so it’s not anonymous fyi), but unless asked, the answer should be assumed “no.”
For clients/consumers, going forward you will receive an unglazed piece for your personal hold, and a glazed piece for public sharing and consumption. I didn’t allow this at first, because upon receiving their art, they would post the unglazed version. Often by accident. Which could/would be snatched up in seconds and reposted “*elsewhere,” but if it could be snatched so quickly for that, then who’s to say someone didn’t grab it for A.I. in that time as well?
I will be giving your commissions differently to hopefully stop mix-ups. And if you intend to post it, to link me to those posts as proof within 48 hours. I don’t post these pieces to socials myself if YOU do, so retweeting (or the equivalent) is how others will see it on my social pages. This helps me because if I find it days later, unglazed, and uninformed, I know it was intentional, and I know exactly who posted it. This would result in the same consequences as usual, which is being blacklisted, and blocked. This may also extend beyond you if other people are involved with the commission or not, so keep that in mind. Note that this includes vice versa, if you intend to share it privately, I recommend you share your glazed piece so you are not also held in contempt to the consequences if one of your friends ends up posting it somewhere else without your knowledge. I do NOT inform you whether you've been blacklisted and blocked.
[Timed commissions like a Birthday piece are exceptions and extend the posting rule time limit of course. Just tell me their birthday and I’ll set a reminder to look for your notification around that time. Reminding you if need be.]
Am I doing too much about this? I was doing most of this for a very similar issue long before, so I’m not doing any more than I already was. My personal filing system is terrible so it’s easier for me to just search my own tags for references where-ever I am. Some places kill pixels, so I will reverse image search for the higher quality ones, so it’s not like I’m hunting for these pieces deliberately, the internet despite its chaos, is just an easier to navigate filing system for me due to its search functions. And if I miss something, those close to me typically point out the outliers to me (which I appreciate!). And while the other issue I was doing this for was by mostly non malevolent people, I consider A.I. scraping without consent to be a form of theft, and to use stolen work in an amalgamation is a rape of that art in so many ways one could write essays about it. It IS currently built upon malevolence, *enslavement, and intently desecrates both the living and the dead. It will take great social change to shift that, and one can start by simply asking for artist’s consent.

Posted 2 years agoWith the new hours I got enough money to take art classes at least for one year and I'm taking advantage of that. And oh man, are they helping in so many ways.
My style and ways of painting are ebbing and flowing with my studies so I will not be opening solid commissions for this year as I am unable to define what I promise.
I'm also finishing the comms I have, upgrading them a lil where the muse allows (and simply because I enjoy them!) for the wait while I was injured and bogged with adjusting to my job's new workload.
I WILL open larger commission pieces sparsely, and with very limited slots. With ample warning time for you to prepare.
But in the meantime, me studying is probably good news for you, because it means I'm constantly looking for free requests to practice and cool down on. So if you haven't noticed the uptick of sketches in my gallery, check out my 2 twitters if you like free stuff. I prefer to do it for followers, as they don't feel like total strangers.

So far I've only been asking for characters, with no subject matter, so this isn't an excuse to bombard me with a paragraphed request best for a commission. These are experimental, loose, often silly sketches. They are to cool down, not stress over details.
As for more serious art, that includes my current comms, I'm going down a list I'm adhering to. After this list it's just straight classes for a bit. I'll also be taking July off just to participate in Art Fight, so gimmee those AF profiles while you're at it.

I hate those journals of kids going, “I’m not into this anymore so stop watching me for it” and then continue to draw that thing anyway. But this one is different.
I don’t have as long to live as most people, I have to make sacrifices everywhere bc time is precious. As much as it hurts me, art is going through sacrifices too, something I always tried to hold off on. I believed in growing my skill in every direction, but in reality I have to choose just a couple. These comms are the last of the full renders. I’m extensively gearing up to make the retro style one I am known for. (I do this towards everything in real life so it makes sense) If you don't like this, as it appears a lot don't, please know that it’s all there will be, and all that will be available for future comms from here on out besides certain types of pieces. I say this in no ill will, nor am I mad, sad, or whatever. I just know it does not appeal to the majority if favs are any indication (since comments are disabled favs are my ONLY indication). I still will be drawing the same stuff, my interests haven't changed, it's just the style. I promise you I’m not offended if you leave. XD Since I’ve returned after about a decade break, I’m drawing for me, but it’s a public space so I’m obligated to address you in a way. Because it’s my business, I wouldn’t have said anything if it weren’t that it appeared so many didn’t like the direction I’m going, so I’m telling you out of courtesy.
About TF
I like it, believe it or not. Much of my grumbles came from the bad experiences of DMs from strangers and I tried to publicly ward them off by being negative about it. I should have just been more direct. BTW, if you verbally berate me & my art, and downright threaten me to draw TF for you it's an instant block. None of that is going to make me draw for you, even when comms are open, let alone for free. Edit: EVEN IF YOU BELITTLE ME DURING THE COMM PROCESS after we've set up as well (you know who you are). Not letting that slide anymore. Obviously most of you don't have to worry about that message, most of you aren't that moronic. But stupid sure did have a knack for finding me for awhile. And it legit made me scared to show TF art again simply bc I was afraid it was what was bringing them in. While this hasn't happened for a while, and none since the move, I think my anxiety meds are strong enough for me to handle it if this continues to happen. I'm chocking it up to bad luck with the algorithm. Which I tend to be unlucky in general life if ya'll haven't figured out by now. Lmao
However, I will be honest. My interests are each in their respective bubbles and stay there, not interacting with anyone else's. This is a safety mechanism so that when drama happens in a community it does not affect the relationship I have to my personal interests. This also applies to TF. This means I don't understand TF the way you do, I neither know nor experience it the same way. Your lingo, your interests, they're completely foreign to me and I struggle to grasp it. I have an entirely different thing goin on in TF. I don't align nor consider myself a part of the TF community, but I do like some ppl there as individuals separated from their interests. A part of me feels bad I may not be drawing your types of TF justice bc I do not see it in even a fraction from your perspective.
So don't take it as I don't like TF, I just don't like what YOU like in TF. It took me a long time to figure that out myself. And you don't like what I like either. So I guess no one's really satisfied in the end? hahaha
I will be opening TF comms again eventually, but I will limit how many I do in the slots I take. I like to be sure my gallery remains varied to dissuade misleading ppl I do just one thing. I want ppl to be able to see a single page of my gallery and know exactly what I draw and whether they want to follow me or not. No facades. And I’ve always been that way.
