Hi friends! I'm still having trouble getting back into FA/Weasyl. Not sure why.

Anyway, 2016 furry conventions.
So far I've confirmed tickets and room for Furry Weekend Atlanta and Eurofurence (!!!!!).

Since EF is a pretty big trip I'm not sure how many other cons I'll sneak over to but I'd like to try to make it to some subset of BLFC, AnthroCon, Furpocalypse, and/or Midwest FurFest. Any recommendations for cons that would be easy for someone in North Carolina to attend would be appreciated. I've yet to go to BLFC and it looks awesome but it's the one I'm most unsure about making it to. I'm on the fence about Anthrocon.

General life update. Sorry for being away on this account, splashsuits, and Weasyl lately! I don't really have a central reason. Life has just been keeping me busy and I haven't been so driven to be on my desktop computer.
Since my last journal I have:
- Rebuilt most of my computer, lost some WIP while doing so but nothing important
- Attended FWA2015 while debuting Retro's head made by the amazing otter.n.daughter (thanks to all who stopped me with wonderful comments and dealt with my silliness while on stage with Dad's Garage!)
- Went to Mexico for a week
- Got sick again because 2015 is cursed
- Pulled some serious overtime at work, woop woop life responsibilities

I'm hoping to get back into things online. Felix and I are due for new icons, Splash needs new reference sheets, and y'all haven't even seen Telson (and another character in the works)!
Felix and I are set for Furpocalypse 2015 and Nekocon but whether we'll make it to MWFF is kind of up in the air thanks to how quickly hotel space sold out (gone before the page could load, was that some kind of record?).

I think that's everything? Working on sewing more. I've got some foxy pillows that should be put up for sale here or on Etsy and I've been slowly progressing on some cosplay costumes... Splash's body is in serious need of padding up since I have managed to lose fat (*flex flex*). Her new head and Retro's body should be done by Furpoc! <33

So, what'd I miss? How're you all doing? How much longer does FA have?

It looks like my motherboard kicked the bucket on Monday, so I've been and will continue to be offline/AFK (with the exception of Twitter) due to that.

Slightly sidetracked

Hello everyone! Thanks so much to all who entered the Wacky Face raffle. I was trying something new [for myself] by incorporating Twitter and Tumblr to try to spread the word and I think it went pretty well!

Well, FWA was super rad this year. Gotta' say it. It's obvious it has outgrown the hotel, but even with elevator wait times I really think the con was run wonderfully. Lots of swag, a lovely open Artist Alley space, con staff was super helpful, hotel staff were fast (except on checkout, haha), and the events were awesome.

So, some stories. Right before the con I caught a cold and while I managed to fight it off quickly I was still left with a sinus infection that is still slowly working its way out of me. >:T So I didn't have the stamina I really wish I had and only really stayed out late on Saturday night. Next year I'm totally gonna' be oversleeping and chugging vitamins the week before the con because not getting to drink and party hard was kind of a bummer.

Running a table in the Artist Alley was everything I hoped it would be. I got to meet a ton of really awesome folks (including the venerable  henrieke and  karpour) and be plenty annoying to my surrounding artists (sorry,  Sprech4!!). Since I had the aforementioned sinus issues I was surprised when people said my soaps and scent packs were smell-able a ways away from my table, but I was also pleased to learn that everyone found it to be a good thing! The soaps sold really well and I got awesome feedback - I didn't sell as many scent packs, but they were also so strong I had to keep them in the plastic bin which isn't exactly useful for selling. I'll figure something out for next year, haha heck, I've already received a handful of suggestions. All of my customers who got back to me had wonderfully flattering things to say, so I'm plenty pleased. Ultimately, though, I think I'll keep my Artist Alley adventures to FWA only for the time being. Other cons are a bit further away to be hauling so much stuff, and a box full of quarter pound soaps required me to enlist extra pairs of big beefy arms. Not that this'll keep me from trying out auction rooms... I've got plans for AC already!

Suiting was a BLAST. This was my first full con in suit since "perfecting" my underarmor and I was totally jazzed to finally give  scorgi the full test she deserved. I've learned that while I love the body (padding<3<3) the head does have some issues that I'm not sure how to fix. I've known for a while about how she has blind spots on the sides and the top of the head (eyes are pretty low sitting) but some of the lights at the con actually blinded me. No complaints about her construction because she's tough and I love her, but I am considering getting an alternate head for the body. Also I am doing a number on her feet, haha!
Anyway, I felt super lucky to have such great handlers.  archebold and  corgibones did a great job of making sure I didn't fall down continuous flights of stairs and I got a personal photoshoot set with Felix and  xipoid - can't wait to go through those pictures! The fursuit parade was perfect, just long enough that I wasn't exhausted in front of people with cameras. Got to show my Georgia Tech pride with a foam hand (with a delightfully flaccid pointer finger) and heard plenty of "WHAT'S THE GOOD WORD" as I strutted my stuff. The adorable  sunnycreations walked behind me and we had a good time bring silly with Splash's giant clumsy dino tail.

I know there's so much more to say but I'm already tired writing all of that, haha. Good year. Excited for next year. Excited for AC. I'm going to try to make it to MFF.

My page still has the AnthroCon 2013 meme up and it feels silly, so here's my plans for the next few months.

I'm currently working on a badge for the badge exchange group, but I'm pretty busy off the computer so I doubt anything besides that badge gets done this month.

Things got crazy over in offline land, but I'm chugging through the rest of the winner wacky faces as I can.

I'm running late with this, but apparently I've got an impromptu family visit coming this weekend so I'm going from con cleanup to apartment gotta'-get-it-spotless cleanup with no rest in between! So, yes, more delays, such is life.

The con was phenomenal, save for some pains on Sunday. The elevators were pretty silly, but I really didn't seem to run into the same issues as many despite running up to the room constantly. Perhaps I'm just used to the overcrowding because, hey, ATLANTA.

Suit got delayed to AnthroCon - which I can now confirm I will be at - but I did get to try out my first time suiting in the guise of a certain [normally tall] lemur. Apologies to anyone I may have bopped with the nose. Gotta' get used to that...

What really made the convention was the people. I got to stay with some amazing friends, made a few more (quick shout outs to  goldfox,  CorgiBones, and  stigmata while I'm at this), and saw some people/suits briefly before they disappeared into the nether. The dancing was incredible, the amazing  hibbary's panels were fantastic... Yeah, I'm happy.
