My new year's resolution is to focus more on artistic endeavors - right now that means drawing and sewing more. LET'S SEE.

I left a little notice at the top of my page that I was gonna' be busy with work and whatnot until last Friday, but it looks like I'll probably be quite occupied through the end of 2012. In summary, tons of year-end work related stuff delayed a lot of projects I wanted to get done for people by Xmas so I'm continuing sewing in my free time through this week, followed by holiday travel and activities.
Oh, also, I learned how to sew. It's really fun.

Things to look forward to in 2013:
- Sewn goodies! You should see this giant order of fleece I placed
- Free art raffles! I've been wanting to do them for a very long time now
- Character sheets! I've got exactly five characters that need them

In other news, I spend hours working on an animation that ended up needing to fit in a tiny space so I have a Flash DJ Pon3* that will probably just fade away in my desk drive. The pony itself is mostly using premade parts so I will not be uploading it, but there's my lesson to always check against the final size of something before completely making it.

Also visiting a buddy in Virginia this weekend, so hopefully November will be the month of PROGRESS.

As I'm about 3/4ths done unpacking my stuff from Atlanta my family is sending me things from my Florida home. 'Lo and behold, nostalgic treasure: Game Boy original, Game Boy Color (another one from some alternate dimension, no idea where it came from), N64, Sega Genesis, games for all three previous consoles, Pokemon Cards, Sonic Pogs, an inordinate number of video game plushies (especially Sonic + holiday related, EASTER KNUCKLES ANYONE?), those Sonic mini handheld games they put in some fast food kid's meals years ago...
Today I actually ran out, nabbed batteries, and chilled with some friends while playing Wario Blast (aka Wario vs Bomberman). Good stuff.
All of this is going to look really nice next to the copy of Haunted House for the Atari 2600 I found last weekend.

North Carolina is rad. I really, really miss my friends, but more in the "LET'S MOVE THEM HERE SOMEHOW PLEASE" way than the "OH GOD TAKE ME BACK" kind of way. Seriously, move over here, dudes.

Ok, whew, finally, geez, right. Got a job offer and I'm making plans to move to North Carolina in early August.
I've got a few weeks to finish any loose ends, pick a new place, move, and be prepared, but I also want to give myself a little break when possible. Lots of catching up to do.

Looking forward to the new job, though. I've always been more of a career-minded sort, so when my old position went stagnant (to put things nicely) I felt myself getting very stressed. New job will take getting used to (I DON'T THINK I CAN WEAR SANDALS ANYMORE) but I think the change of location will be healthy.

I'm working on a dorky Tumblr project in between failing at doing anything serious and I really need practice at characters, so post in this if you want a goofy doodle of your character. AUUUGHHHH SO MUCH OVERTIME AT WORK

When Sonic Generations was first announced, I was so happy I teared up a bit. I'm a big Sonic fan - my first (and one of my favorite) video game[s] was Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and since then platformers and action adventure games have had special places in my heart.

Now I'm tearing up for a different reason. In ways, this game is so awful. Great music and references (haha, yesss, Ray and Mighty) but incredibly unpolished. Glitches everywhere, the worst bosses I have ever had the displeasure to face, and in many cases outright annoying design.

The game has a lot of good points and I know that good ultimately ends up outweighing the bad, but having to end every play session in a terrible mood makes me think it's really not worth playing the game (definitely not worth preordering for PS3).
Hopefully this thing still gets good return value at GameStop. I heard the MGS HD collection is out...


Minor thing that doesn't actually affect my view of the game but still - why only classic versions of Sonic and Tails? I miss classic Knuckles. :(

Spending the weekend at AWA - I didn't even get close to finishing my costume, but I'm going to keep sewing like crazy so that I may make another convention in the near future. Doing an entire suit by hand is INSANE.

My huge list of chores to do is finally coming to a close. Being an independent adult sucks, but at least now I don't have to worry about things like transportation and covering rent. Also, I'm now officially a Georgia resident, so I went ahead and joined georgiafurs because furries are rad people.

Anyway, I think I'm going to go to Dragon*Con, but since my uncertainty about it led me to fail at buying tickets before the ridiculous price raise I think I'm just going to be there for one day. I'm definitely planning on FWA, though, and possibly AWA if I get this costume done in time.
I am learning how to sew, and I'm working on a cosplay suit thing. I have no idea how this is going to turn out but it feels really good to be working on something artsy that doesn't involve a computer monitor.

Besides that, I still need to take another stab at  dissy's badge and an icon for  carwyn. I'm really glad I warned you two about how long this might take, because I really fulfilled that prophecy.

After that, I've got some really rad ideas I wanna' try for all ya'll.
