Hey everyone! First journal here in a long while, sorry about that. I guess Twitter's kinda taken over as my main bulletin board nowadays. ^^;

Just giving a heads up that in a few hours i'm gonna be heading off on a family holiday down to Tasmania with my folks - we're taking the motorhome and going on a trip around the state for just over the next 3 weeks or so. Hopefully it'll be a fun and interesting trip - this'll only be the second time i've visitied Tassie and the first time was 9 years ago! (back then also playing the Sly 4 demo on the Vita... damn, time flies. x.x). Going to a few new places, revisiting some old ones, and hoping we don't run into any Covid-related roadblocks during it all.

So anyway, standard drill for these trips - I should have mobile internet most of the time, but warning just in case we stay in any areas without coverage, if anyone needs to contact me, there might be some delays till I get back to you. Otherwise, i'll still be using Twitter and stuff most of the time like usual.

Hey guys, apologies for the quiet, but just confirming that I got back home from the New Caledonia trip last Thursday.
On the plus side, the boat ride was mostly smooth (if quite long) and New Caledonia itself was an awesome place to visit and explore.
On the negative side... i've been sick the entire trip and still am at the moment, now with a nasty cold as well.
Going to the doctor's tomorrow, so hopefully we can organise some tests to figure out what's causing all the trouble.

So a little out of it at the moment, but otherwise, i'm okay (if very, very tired lol). It's nice to be back home. XD

Just giving you all a heads up, from this upcoming Tuesday i'm gonna be away from home and possibly the internet for about 10 days - my folks and I are going on a brief holiday cruise , specifically to New Caledonia! Hopefully should be fun, just hoping I don't get seasick. XP

As such, I may not have internet access during much of this time - it's apparently available on the boat, but costs extra to use, so dunno if we'll actually pay for it or go without, and currently i'm assuming the latter for the most part. Either way, if anyone messages or notes me during this time, I likely won't be able to respond till I return, hopefully around the May 11/12 weekend. Once I get back, it'll be business as usual.

Hey guys, just another heads that i'm back home from the trip up north! The holiday itself was nice, going up slightly more north in Queensland than i've been before and seeing new places, but a lack of wi-fi in some places and the weather up there (heatwave for the first half, raining for the second half) and i'm glad to be back within the comforts and cooler weather of home. XD

Also bought a few commissions while I was away too - most are a long way away from being done yet, but some arrived in the last few days, so will post them shortly as well! Hope things have been going well for you all the last two weeks!

Apologies for the short notice, but just a heads up once again - as of tomorrow, i'm gonna be away for about 2 weeks, heading up to Queensland on a vacation with my folks. Still expecting to have internet access, so I should still be able to check FA and Twitter and stuff, but other things will have to wait until I get back. Might even try and sketch one or two things using Layerpaint on the tablet if I get motivation, but i'll have to see how it goes. I'll be getting back by March 1st (though working that day, so technically March 2nd? lol)

Just hoping that the weather isn't too nasty while we're up there - Brisbane area got some major storms the last few days, and it's cooking down here at the moment, so might expect more of both while we're up there. Gonna be visiting some areas I haven't been to before, so should be interesting either way. XD

Just a heads up that, like the start of last year, i'm about to upload a whole bunch of sketches that i've done over the years that haven't been publicly posted before now!
I've spent the last few weeks colouring and tidying them up, and i've got about 40 to post in total. To save from spamming them all at once though, i'm gonna do them around 10 at a time, then take an hour or two break between each batch. Hopefully that should be fine, but if anyone gets annoyed at all the posts in their inbox, please let me know and i'll hold off for longer if need be.

Got it back from the repair store yesterday night! Almost borked it again due to restarting during a graphics driver update installation that froze on the last step, but eventually ran some of Win 10's startup fix tools and got it working again properly, now everything seems to be running fine (and all important files and projects backed up on the portable drive ;D ) Don't know the specifics yet, but apparently the problem was due to the motherboard - seems it might be an idea to get a replacement sometime in the future.

Anyways, back to the norm!

Should have figured this would happen sooner or later. Occasionally the computer's failed to start up properly (turns on, but monitor doesn't pick it up) for a while now, but since it happeneed infrequently I just ignored it unless it became a major nuisance...


...welp. Guees what?

Been trying to turn it on since last night and today, but nothing shows on the monitor. Tried cleaning out some dust, tried using a HDMI connection instead of the usual cable, but so far, no change.

You'd THINK i'd have learned by now to back up my newer files at the first sign of trouble weeks ago, to back up any recent projects and arts and stuff, especially since i've had this problem SEVERAL times in the past... but if there's one thing I've noticed about myself the last few years, it's that I never really learn anything. x.x

If I manage to get it running at all today, i'll backup what I can, then take it to a shop to check out. I've got my tablet (typing on it now) and phone to check FA and twitter and stuff, but until this is fixed, everything else is out.

Apologies again for the (technical) absence; seems the only journals I do nowadays are for when I leave and come back - save for the occasional trip, not much else goes on with me except for the usual routines and stuff.
