I've been using the same ~6x5 12 year old Wacom CTE-440 for a good 5 years now and the other day was my birthday so my wonderful mom got me a Turcom 6610. It's amazing how worn out the Wacom was and I can't believe I was content drawing with it for so long???

Anyway, the point of this journal is that drawing on the Turcom is kinda funky compared to the Wacom because it's bigger and has better pressure sensitivity so I'm gonna be a little slower re-opening commissions again until I get used to drawing with it. But I hope to be able to re-open them soon!!! Just one more thing on my current commissions to-do list.

I really, realllyyyyyy, dislike talking too much about my personal life on here in such a public area as my journal because I've noticed, in my nearly 7 years on this site, that people get kinda...weird??? about certain things???? Words are failing me at the moment lol but I'm sure most of you know what I mean.

Anywho, I'm pretty excited about this so I wanna talk about it lol

I'm sure some of you have probably seen the transfurs icon on my page (sandwiched between the hyena and brotherhood of steel ones rofl) and I haven't talked about it anywhere on here outside of that one icon. But like a year or so ago I was finally able to set aside some disgusssting internalized pseudo-rage and come to terms with the fact that I was trans and blah blah ablahksaf

Anyway, some good stuff that's happened this year:

- Dang wow I got so many commissions this year!!!!! Thank you everyone!!! Every one of you that's supported my art (either via Redbubble/DBH or through commissions or even just following me here/tumblr). It means so, so much to me and, because of you guys, I was able to buy christmas gifts for everyone this year with my own money for the first time ever :')

- Got to see ShotgunFishing !!!!! and my friend Bun who happened to live only 20-30 minutes away from him!!!!!!!!!!

- Finally came to the conclusion that I'm transmale and my family (special shoutout to Shottie Fishin who I told first & talked with me a lot about it n stuff) has all been super supportive of it. First appointment to see a doctor to start this whole wild adventure is on the 11th :^)

- My mom finally found a man that treats her right. He's super cool and I hope their relationship lasts forever xoxo

- Mead is so, so, good. So good. I love mead.

- Dude I got to see so many of my favorite bands this year. Amon Amarth near the beginning-ish of the year and then GWAR in September!!!! That's only two bands but, like, I've only been to maybe 5 concerts in my entire life and that's nearly half right there so rofl Sabaton/Leave's Eyes/Battle Beast are coming out here sometime around April 2017 so I hope I'm able to get to see them too because Wow a concert with three bands that I love?????? Heck yea man

- Almost all of my favorite bands came out with new albums this year too rofl Insomnium's Winter's Gate is my album of the year but Doom 4's (which also came out this year and is also amazing!!!) OST is a really close second. Mechina is coming out with a new album tomorrow too and dude I'm so hyped I actually pre-ordered the physical CD hahaha I hope Caladan Brood and GWAR come out with new stuff next year too.

- At the beginning of this year I herniated two discs in my lower spine/lumbar area and there was a really good chance I might not be able to run/have full strength back in my left leg/foot without surgery but it healed 100% through the power of push ups *flex emoji* I can now run again. Remember kids, always practice safe box lifting techniques or half of your lower back will squirt out of place and cause Extreme Agony and Minor Paralysis

Anyway, this journal is already longer than I'd like it to be but so many people are posting sad journals about how awful 2016 has been (justifiably so) that I wanted to post one with a bunch of positive things. More stuff than this happened this year but I dislike having super long journals on my page so I just left it at the highlights :P

What I'd really like to do is try to get some detailed ink work done again now that my spine has grown back (herniated two discs late January this year lol). My poor, poor dip pens have been so neglected lately....

But Inprint's quality/prices are a bit better than Redbubble's for prints (and also I'll make more, which is a nice bonus) so I put some of my best drawings up there for now just to test and see how it all goes. As always, I am eternally grateful to everyone that supports my art. This year I was able to afford christmas presents for everyone and it was a very, very, incredibly wonderful feeling. Everyone around me is sick; coughing, wheezing, running noses, throwing up. All of them. I am the last survivor. The air has dried out my skin, my hands are cracked and sometimes my nose bleeds in the morning but I fight on futilely. I can feel the sickness flowing in my veins. It's only a matter of time now before I become one of them. "Your immune system is insane," my sister told me a week ago,"There's no way you're going to get sick. You never do." But my body is set to prove her wrong. I'm coughing more now. This may be my last journal my sandpaper hands write before I succumb to The Cold. Do not pray for me. I will go down guns blazing.
