... Is when daylight savings starts. Probably the worst day out of the whole year, in my opinion. Well, besides the trips to the dentists.

I decided it was about time for a small life update. School is stressful, as per the usual. Although I finally got through all the projects the teachers decided to assign all at once. That was quite a push. But fortunately, that's all done now, so I'm hoping to be able to do more art and stuff now that I don't have so much homework to do. Of course, it's not nonexistent, mind you, just lesser.

Do you guys remember when I had to get my toenail removed? Probably not, because I don't remember telling you about it. Last July I had to get my right big toenail removed because it had gotten infected. Seven months later, it's still regrowing, but it's not doing so well. It's growing all wonky in to the side of my toe, and now my toe is really unhappy about that. My mom scheduled a doctors appointment, and she also talked to a nurse who said I might have to get it removed again. Right now, I'm just hoping against hope that that won't have to happen, but we'll find out on Monday.

Also, I'm thinking I may open up for a few commissions soon, after I work on some references for Maria. Just thought I'd give you all a heads up.

And, on another side note, my birthday is coming up on the 14th! I've been completely forgetting about it for the most part, but it still exists nonetheless. I feel... old, yet still young at the same time. Kind of a weird combination to be honest.

Hey guys,

I just want to apologize in advance for all the vent art I post. I've been feeling like utter crap these last couple of days, and I've been finding the only way to keep myself sane through this is through vent art. As much as I hate uploading it, I feel you guys deserve some stuff after those months of not posting anything. I'm just sorry I don't have any light, more uplifting stuff to show you all, haha.

Also, please don't worry yourself for my sake. I hate dumping my problems on others, I just find it rather rude to bother people about that kind of stuff. Especially since you guys watch me for the art, not my emotional issues. I don't feel I have the right to make people unhappy just because I'm not feeling at my best. So, as you may have guessed, I've injured a finger. And actually, it's pretty funny, believe it or not. Don't worry, I'll tell you the whole story.

So yesterday, we were playing basketball in gym class. My least favorite sport. Ever. Turns out, I'm pretty sure it hates me too. So get this, I jammed my left middle finger trying to catch a rebound, and it started swelling really quickly, so I put some ice on it, but it didn't help the swelling at all. Hmmm, does this sound familiar? Thought so. Remember that time about a year or so ago when I broke the middle finger on my right hand? Yeah, this is pretty much an identical case.

However, I went to the doctor's today, got an x-ray, they examined it, and they said they couldn't determine whether it was broken or not. So, I get to stay in a splint all winter break! Yay!

Oh yeah, and as some of you smart people might remember, I'm left-handed, so this is going probably to diminish my artwork output quite a bit for a while. Because while I CAN still draw, my finger is incredibly fragile, so my pencil grip has had to change a little bit, and that means I won't feel as comfortable drawing. Just to warn you guys!

Okay, so I've been having this problem for the past few days, ever since they updated the layout, actually, and it's really starting to get irritating. Some videos won't play for me, the part where the video is supposed to be is just black and doesn't load. However, other videos work perfectly fine, especially if they're in a playlist. I've updated flash player, so I know that isn't the problem, but I have absolutely no clue what's going on.
Help?

Okay, I don't usually rant, but I'm so goddamn frustrated right now.

So, I think I mentioned before that I'm getting into (or want to get into) ROM/ROM playing, right? Okay, so I ordered an SNES controller for my laptop and waited eagerly for it to arrive. When the package arrived, I was so excited. Oh, but guess what? They mixed up my order and sent me an SNES controller with a regular adapter. I guess I could say I was kind of upset.

So I emailed the seller, and they were very courteous, they apologized and said they would send me the correct item. So, I started the waiting game again. When that package arrived, I was even more excited. Finally, it was here, and I could play some good old Super Mario World! Heck, they couldn't mess up the order a second time, could they?

Boy, was I WRONG. They certainly could. I received the same item as last time. So, extremely irritated and frustrated after having a terrible day that day, I went to weapons class and ended up calling the seller the next day. The person who answered my call was extremely nice and apologetic, and said she would send me the correct item right away, and she told me I could keep the two previous controllers I had been sent, and could do with them whatever I wanted. So, happy with the thought that they would get it right this time, and I only had to wait 4-6 more days for the new item to arrive, I was contented to wait.

Well, until yesterday, that is, when I was expecting another parcel in the mail that day. I was slightly disappointed, but remembered that it might come today, too. So I contacted the seller, and they gave me the tracking number. I tried it out, only to find there wasn't any info on it, or it wasn't activated yet. I was a little confused, but thought it might be a glitch. Today, I again was expecting a parcel in the mail, but it still hadn't arrived. Well, I told myself, it'll come tomorrow, and maybe we can pick it up at the post office before we leave for Madison. I talked to my parents, and they weren't sure what we could do. So, I checked the tracking number again, and guess what I found? There was some information! Oh, but wait, it was stuff like, "processed at origin facility" and "electronic shipping info received". Anyone care to guess what the date on all this was? November 20th. Yep. I'm sure that pretty much sums everything up. I cried I was so frustrated.

*sigh* Well, I guess I get to wait until Sunday now. Yipee! Not much I can do, unfortunately, except give the seller the feedback they deserve, and believe me, they are going to get it. And if they mess up the order a third time, I'll... I think I might break something.

Holy cow, it really has been forever and a day since I made an updates journal. Sorry about that ^^;

UPDATES
Life has been pretty good, actually. School certainly hasn't been amazing, but it's school, yanno? It's been an interesting experience starting fresh with everything, and it's going a lot better than I thought. I used to be scared out of my mind about going to a school where I didn't know anyone (except some seniors, that is, my sister's friends), but people were surprisingly welcoming and willing to talk to me, and I really appreciated that, since I'm rather shy in real life. The school itself is pretty good too. Teachers are understanding and willing to talk and negotiate, well, all except for my math teacher, that is. People are also more accepting that I expected them to be. Surprisingly enough, I also have much less homework than I did last year, and I have at least 2-3 hours of free time, which is huge to me. I mainly use that time to talk to Joe and catch up on messages and whatnot.
The cat has been adjusting really well. She's escaped a few times, but with the more recent times, she's come back. The only reason we don't let her out is our neighbors next door would prefer that our cats didn't go to the bathroom in their garden, and the fences that we have up are only sufficient in keeping our fat kitty out of there. So this new little baby girl is gonna be inside for awhile. She's constantly energetic, though, and often just runs wild around the house, which drives everyone insane, but she's adorable as hell, so we can't stay mad at her for long.
Art wise, stuff has been pretty good too. I finished up my last commission for this year, and now I'm looking to do some personal art, like some refs for Maria, which really need to be done. I've also been practicing humans more, and I hope to upload more of that crap soon too.

ROM HACK PLAYING
Yep. I went there.
I've actually seriously decided to start playing some ROM hacks on my laptop. I got all the necessary programs, and I even bought an SNES USB controller. I'm gonna start with some SMW hacks, so I'm going to actually play the game and get used to the controls before I start playing hacks. I was also thinking of maybe getting the Super Metroid game and playing that too, but I highly doubt I'll play any hacks of that. Why Mario hacks then, you ask? It's a platforming game, and that's the style of game I feel most comfortable playing. If you guys have any suggestions or tips for a beginner ROM player, or even suggestions of hacks to play, I would definitely appreciate all the advice given!

I'd really like to apologize for the long wait on the commissions from August/September. Life has been really busy and unforgiving lately, and as a result, I haven't had a whole lot of time to work on stuff. But, now that MEA has come up, I'm actually going to sit my butt down and get to work on these. I'll try to get one a day done, if possible. If you guys would like, I could do some possible streaming of these commissions too!

Playing video games!

I was thinking of maybe doing one, since I got a couple new games (Super Smash Bros Brawl, Super Mario Galaxy, and Animal Crossing), and I was thinking of playing them today, if my SD card comes in. If it doesn't, I might just play something like Metroid Prime 1, 2 or 3, or maybe even Super Metroid, but I haven't played Four Swords Adventures in a while either, so I dunno XD Opinions? I could list all my Wii/Gamecube/Virtual Console games here if someone requests.

Anyway, if you guys think you'd be up for that, let me know!

Cause I need help. Been playing the game for about two days, and the only places I could find portals to was Lonely Cave, Flourite Plains, The Cape of Distant Worlds, the South Pole, Temple of Dreams, and the tunnels. I know the map is pretty big, and I haven't even been to a quarter of it, but I can't seem to find any other portals.
What I would love is for someone who knows the terrain well, who could show me around to some of the niftier places. If you could do that for me, I would be extremely grateful. Thanks!
