🌸 Branching out
Not exactly news, but making a better announcement about it. I've been very unhappy with Twitter lately, and it's not very smart to rely on a single site, especially because Furaffinity is quite unstable.
So I created a 📰Telegram Channel (https://t.me/mr_tiaa) and a 🦣Mastodon (https://meow.social/@mr_tiaa) account! Telegram is good because you get real-time notifications on your phone, while Mastodon is very similar to Twitter. If there are leftover sales from Patreon, I will announce it there as well, so please consider following~
(No worries, I don't plan to leave FA at all! But I'm hoping to find an alternative for Twitter)

🌸 Drawing Tutorial
I set a Patreon Goal that, if I can reach $200 per month on Patreon (it's currently at $142/month) I will do a tutorial on how I make Scenic Drawings (cell-shading).
The tutorial will be in text format (English and Brazilian Portuguese) with pictures. I will guide you through how I do things and link you to some art theories I find helpful.
Once it's complete (please give me up to 3 months to finish it), it will be available for everyone in a "pay what you want" (including nothing) deal. Patrons will receive early access.

🌸 Commission Info Update
This was (probably) expected, but since we are starting a new year made some updates on my commissions. Here's a list of what changed.
▫️ The price of some items raised by $5.
▫️ "Simple Scenes" and "Detailed Scenes" merged into "🍧Cell Shading Scenes". I noticed these items were very confusing to buyers, as they are the same kind of art, just with a different amount of details that probably just make sense in my head. So I merged them for easy understanding. (anyone who was in the lurking list for either "Simple Scenes" or/and "Detailed Scenes" got the new role for "🍧Cell Shading Scenes" already)
▫️ Updated T.O.S. to add an item about AI. Using my art (even if you commissioned it) to feed AI is prohibited and may result in blacklisting.

Hello, furaffinity! Long time no see~
After some months away, I'm happy to say I'm back to the site! I have replied to all old, pilled comments and notes, I also nuked my notifications (it's sadly impossible to go through all this, I actually think I will go unwatching some artists because these are pilling too fast).

A lot happened during the past months, I'm not getting into details here but long story short, I had some intense psychological breakdowns and needed to shut down myself from the internet in general. I've been slowly recovering and I did good progress in healing through the last weeks - big shout out to my beloved spouse shiroganeryo who was there to support me through the thick and thin ♥. I believe I'm mentally stable enough to get back on track with my online activity, so I'm slowly doing so!

Furaffinity was the first site I put on hiatus, so there is a decent amount of artwork to upload. I will try to upload one per day, so you'll have daily posts from me until I catch up.

As the title says, I’m making a big update on how my Commissions and Patreon work! I’ve been working on this update behind the curtains for quite a while and I’m happy to finally make it public. It’s quite important if you are interested in getting art from me, so please take your time to read this post carefully.

Please notice that all these may change without prior notice! But I hope to keep them like this for a while.

From now on, commission openings will happen mainly through my private Discord server. Openings for the general public will happen with less frequency, through Twitter and Furaffinity, and I will try to switch in between the two sites to give a better chance for followers and watchers.

To avoid stress for both me and my customers, a waitlist isn’t available nor I do pings. The closest thing I have of a “lurking list” is my Discord server, which brings us to the next topic: Patreon!

I’m revamping my Patreon Tiers. From now on, there will be only two tiers:
✧ “🎀 Casual Supporter 🎀”, which is basically the “tip jar” tier. No rewards are offered and you are allowed to donate any amount you’d like, starting at $1 USD. Simply donate if you feel like supporting my work!
✧ “💌 Tea Part Invitee 💌”, which offers access to my private Discord server, “Mr. Tiaa’s Tea Party”. To join you need to donate at least $3 USD, but you are allowed to donate more if you are feeling generous!

The “spotlight” of Patreon will now be my Discord server. There I will be posting drawing WIPs, doodles, and exclusive commission sales! The old tiers were very helpful and I’m genuinely grateful for those who supported my work through the past years! But as my follower number keeps increasing (which I’m also grateful for), I’d like to give a better chance to different people to get art from me, while still offering some sort of compensation for those who can financially support me. It would also be good if I could have more control of what I’d be drawing each month, to better organize myself. That’s where the idea of the Discord server came from!

As for the drawing LOGs, these will still be uploaded on my Patreon page for the general public, free of charge. That’s a good way for me to keep active storage of my art, so why not~

Please notice that, if you'd like to join the new tier, you need to manually move your pledge to it on my Patreon's page, even if you already donate $3 or more. As for the old tiers that offer rewards, I will still be doing the rewards for the old tiers this month, as the payment for these is being processed right now.

I put a lot of thought and a lot of work into these updates before making them live. I understand that the raise in commission prices and the creation of the Discord server may be a turndown for some, but I ask you to please understand my side as well. I’m trying to make it as accessible as I can by keeping the subscription price as low as $3 USD and still offering access to my artwork files for free.

As I’ve been saying during my past updates, I’m working hard on the Memory Keepers (an ARPG and Closed Species project by me and my spouse) site, and I also started working on my online store as well, so I will have more exciting news coming soon!

Hii, fellas~!

It has been a while since my last journal. My dog got sick and I've been waiting for the result of her medical exams before doing an update; I just got the results today and she's fine to go~!

So, the updates,
The situation in my country still chaotic as always, at the good side we are getting more COVID vaccines and there's finally a schedule of when I'll be able to get my first shot: if everything goes well, in August; at the bad side the president still the same as always: anti-vax/mask, supporting the use of non-efficient medicine, doing agglomerations, etc.

About my mental health,
I believe I've been doing better! Could be better, but it's not that bad anymore, I'll see the psychiatrist again this week and I'm not sure of how the meds will go. I'm still kinda slow and concentrating has been more difficult than usual, still very anxious sometimes, but in general, I've been feeling a bit more stable.
I also managed to lose some weight, 2kg tbh, it's not the ideal, but it's something! I will keep doing my best to slowly reach my ideal weight again.
So yeap-! Still not there, but I'm better and I know I will keep getting better! I also deeply appreciate all the support so far ♥

About commissions,
I plan to resume commission work in July, no promises, but it's the plan! I will keep doing small openings and getting just a few projects per time, this way I can have better control over it and won't overwork myself. I'm still healing, so it's better to take it easy, right?
Tbh I feel a bit anxious because I increased the price of my commissions, I've been testing the waters since the last big opening I did and I believe I finally found a price that seems right for me, but not gonna lie, increasing prices always makes me feel nervous haha ´ v `7;; however, I decided to start offering sketchy commissions as well, as a more accessible option for those who can't afford a finished piece, but still want to have something drawn by me!
So I hope my new prices will work out well for both me and my customers!

Now, about a personal project,
During that time I stayed away I've been working on a personal project tgt with my spouse shiroganeRyo . Not sure of how many of you know it, but we have a closed species and ARPG group in deviantART, it's named Memory Keepers. So far it has been based on deviantART, but we are migrating it to its own website, so it will work independently and everyone will be able to take part on it!
The project is like, there's a story we are writing about kingdoms and magical beings named Memory Keepers, you can take part on the story by participating in the activities through drawings and comments, and depending of the members feedback the story takes a different path. There are also Memory Keeper adopts!
When its complete and the website is fully functional I will let everyone know, I hope you all will enjoy it!

The last journal I did (commissions one aside) is from Jan 1st, so I thought it would be nice to make a little update journal.

🎨 First, about my Art,

I'd like to apologize if my replies are taking longer than usual and if the management of my pages isn't the best right now. There are some stuff going on irl, and it has been kinda draining (I'll talk about it later on this journal). My priority is always to deliver the best of my work for my customers, so that's what I'm focusing all my energy in!

I'd also like to apologize that commissions openings are still pretty slow and limited, due to feeling kinda drained I don't feel confident on taking much atm because, again, I want to deliver the best drawings I can. Things will stay like this for a while I think and I may keep doing soft-breaks (working only on Patreon rewards) so I appreciate your understanding. 🐾Now, the personal update,

I'm not sure of how many of you know, but the situation in Brazil is currently pretty bad with the most aggressive variant of the Corona virus going wild and the collapse of the health system (both particular and public), added to the negligence of our President who isn't simply ignoring the danger of the virus, but also giving out medicines that doesn't work against it AND have been proved to have a lot of serious side effects, including hemorrhage and cirrhosis (which is overloading the health system even more).
Our current situation can be considered a "Crime against humanity" according to the international law, but it can't be helped because we are, in theory, a democratic country and there isn't anyone doing much against our president.

Fortunately, me and my beloved ones are safe from the virus, but the current situation affects everything and is pretty stressful in general.

As for my situation, in particular
I'm currently going through a change on my psychiatric meds, since the one I've been using for several years wasn't working anymore, my body still on adaptation phase. For the sake of clarify things, I have Avoidant Personality Disorder (AVPD), you can read about it here: https://www.verywellmind.com/avoida.....sorder-4172959 , anxiety (which may result in panic attacks) and depression, but these are very likely because of the AVPD.

Eating is a coping method for me, whenever I'm anxious I eat, it got worse during the pandemic and I've been gaining weight, recently reaching 59kg, which is unacceptable for me. Other little problem I have is Hypermobility Syndrome through all my body BUT my spine, you can read about it here: https://www.hypermobility.org/what-.....lity-syndromes but basically, my joints are weak and I need to stay light weighted or I'll have constant pains and could injure my joints.

So, I started controlling my food, which means I can't rely on it as a coping method anymore, what in addition to the current situation of my country + change of meds is making me a biiiit unstable, and drained.
I've been trying to distract and please myself with other stuff, like games, personal projects and drawings.

But yeah, summary, I'm taking care of my health first! And because of it my activity is currently slower than the usual. Still, I have high hopes that things will get better ASAP! And if I draw something personal I may post it as well, so I hope you will enjoy it if I do~

Now, about 2021...
I will be on a "soft break" during January, in other words, I'll work only on Patreon rewards and a commissions that was already booked for this month; I may or may not extend this soft break to February as well, depending on how things goes.

✩ Create a site for Memory Keepers - an ARPG and closed species project by me and shiroganeRyo . We've been having more and more problems with the deviantART platform so we decided it's important to have the project hosted on it's own site. We're still looking into the technical part of it.
✩ Update my commission info with new examples, prices and instructions, maybe a new site layout. not all prices are set yet but I'd like to have everything ready so I can simply add the missing prices when they are decided.
✩ Create artwork for merchandise. Yes, merchandise!! I've been researching some local factories and I'll try creating some merch and set a personal shop. Shipping from Brazil is expensive so idk if this will work out, but I'll give it a try! I hope to have all (or at least mostly) of the merch art ready ASAP, but the shop will only open once I get vaccinated since I can't go to the post office as things are now.

I'll bring more details about each one of these when it's the proper time. This journal is just a little summary.

I’m currently working on the last commission of my long and old queue, once it’s complete I’ll be taking a break for the rest of September (the past weeks have been very turbulent here) and resume work in October. However, things will work a bit different than they used to until now. this post will cover everything so please read it if you are interested on getting art from me!

🎀 How commissions will work
For the rest of 2020 everything will be very experimental and I won’t have a “price list” nor give quotes. I’ll be doing a few commissions monthly and they’ll be sold in one of the following ways:
– Auctions for stuff like sticker packs and pre-posed pictures/YCHs.
– Flat Sales for simpler stuff (i.e. cell-shaded fullbody w/out bg, icons) in a first come first served basis.
– Offers for specific, more complex stuff (i.e. full scenes, full rendered) in which you’ll send me a form with your drawing idea and how much money you are offering and I’ll choose one or two ideas to work on.
Whenever any of these are open I’ll make a new post on twitter (https://twitter.com/mr_tiaa) or/and furaffinity (here), so plz consider following me on these sites.

I have moved my Terms of Service for a new page, it’s currently being revised but you can check it here already: http://www.mr-tiaa.com/terms-of-service/ the revision is mostly for spelling check. Each sale will have its specific info, but my T.O.S. will work for them all.

An e-mail will be sent to everyone on the lurking list about the updates explained on this post, then the lurking list will be disbanded and removed from my site because it’s pretty outdated and I’ve been having technical issues with it. Lurking list will be unavailable until further notice.

I may extend this “experimental” period depending on how it goes. Whenever I decide something I’ll post a new update.

🎀 Reasons
I believe that handling commissions this way will help me to have a better control of it and adjust my prices and working scheldule.

The way I’ve been taking commissions until now (making a big opening, accepting everyone who submits a form within a time period) worked for some years, but after the last opening I can’t keep taking them like this anymore, it proved to be exhausting and unprofitable to me. As much as I want to do things the better way for my customers, I can’t do it in a way that’s no good for me at all.

I’m hoping to find out a new way to take commissions that works well for both me and my customers, so that’s why I’ll be trying lots of different things.
I hope this is understandable, and that you all will keep cheering for me throughout this!

🎀 Exceptions
Regardless of how commissions will be held for general public, Patreon rewards will still be done normally. I’m also still open for business inquiries, in case you are interested in getting my art for commercial uses (for business inquiries please contact me at mr.tiaa[at]outlook.com ).

While my prices are being readjusted, these commissions will be priced in a case by case basis. Once the new price list is set (probably around January 2021), Patreon supporters from the ✩VIP✩ tier will be notified. Until then, I appreciate your collaboration and trust.

because my soft-shading got very detailed it's also getting very expensive, I can't charge less for it because it takes me a lot of time and working. since I know that some people like soft-shading better than cell-shading, I thought about creating a new commission type for simpler soft-shading pieces, like this one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/33986093/

Since this character from the example is a very specific species with a more "chibi-ish" appearance, I need some more/better examples, so that's why I'm opening for "experimental" slots before properly setting it as a new CM type. I'm still not sure about how much to charge so this will also help me to set a price. If you want to try getting a piece please keep reading.

hi, sweeties~

an update to let you all know that I'll be slowing down a bit starting next month. I usually do 4~5 commissions per month, but starting next month I plan to do 3 commissions per month, if it's needed I'll open some quick wing-up commissions. that's just during the current pandemic situation or until things settle down a bit on my side. whenever I'm ready I'll just return to my regular working pace.

I tried to keep my regular scheldule, but life got busier and somewhat more stressful since the pandemic reached its peak, I've been hardly having time to do anything other than help my family and working on the past days, my few free time was to talk with Ryo (since we are on a long distance relationship). I've been getting more and more mentally tired (things have been a bit frenetic here since the end of 2019 tbh) and it started to show, as I had an intense panic attack this week and a serious conversation that made me decide to slow down things a bit.

so I'll reduce my working load a bit and try to unwind a little.

when FA changed to the modern site layout I was super lost so I put it back to classic layout, but because my sis said they are adding new features and improving the modern one I tried to change it to modern again -still kinda lost :'33 I'm used to light colored interfaces also so I'm using the "light" theme but still getting used to the gray instead of the blue. does the new version supports ID pics with transparent bg...?

whoaa it's finally February... January was quite a ride, uh?

those who follow me for a while probably already know, but February is my free month~!
I'll be working on the cheeb rewards from Patreon, but other than that I won't be doing any work related stuff this month.
