I feel like historically Western dragons tend to be green, red, and reptilian brown (think Smaug), while eastern dragons are white, red, yellow, or green typically.
If you're gonna colorify your dragon, why blue? Is it because blue is your favorite color? Is it because all of your dragony friends are blue?

Other than that, I plan to upload to Weasyl pretty much the same gallery that I have here, and keep up with it the same as I do here but overusing the folders feature. They'll be mirror accounts with just a few more pieces going to Weasyl but not coming here.

What made you choose the species of your main fursona?
Sloths are the most adorable adorables. I wanted to choose a fursona who was laid back, took things slow, and was awkward yet cutely so.
Is your fursona just like you, or how you want to be?
She's mostly a pure representation of me, but more feminized. In person I can be quite butch. Tica brings out my feminine side.
Does your fursona have the same personality you have?
She's a lot quieter, less talkative, and generally even *more* chill and patient than I already am.
Does your fursona have the same dislikes and likes as you do?
Yes... except she really likes flowers and dresses, whereas I'm mostly indifferent to girly things like that.
Does your fursona look like you at all?
No, she's a sloth XD. She's semi-feral, so while she's bipedal and larger than a normal sloth, she's less than four feet tall and weighs less than 50 pounds. She also lacks thumbs, doesn't have human head hair, and is flat-chested.
Is your fursona the same gender as you, if not why?
We're both ladies ~
Do you have more than one main fursona?
I've changed my main fursona over the years, but I'm fairly set on this one now.
Do you have a back story for your fursona, if so does it have anything to do with your own history?
I have a sci-fi version wherein she is from a planet of sloth people, and that's different in many regards from my own background because of the unique culture, language, and so forth I am developing for the planet of New Amazon. However, I also have a version which is my exact life story except with all the players replaced with animals (my dad is a bear, my mom a gazelle, my sister a spider monkey, etc.... lots of adoption going on XD)
Is your fursona mated, if so is it to your real life significant other?
Nope. I'm single.
If not are they looking for a mate, or are they a swinger so to speak?
This is a weird question. I personally would not mind dating someone, but I wouldn't put that into my fursona canon, if you will, unless the relationship was permanent or with another furry.
Is there something special about your fursona that you think sets them apart from others?
She's a sloth ~ They're pretty rare in the fandom.

I do, indeed. Actually, the suit came first--I just told the suitmaker, "do a two-toed sloth like this" and sent him some reference photos of real sloths. I then designed my fursona partially based off the suit, and modified the suit slightly to fit what didn't match.

Writing Star Trek Fanfiction -- want a cameo?

If you like Star Trek and would like a quick cameo, let me know! I only want to put in cameos of people who are actually interested in reading the fanfic. After all, why appear in a story that you find boring or stupid? If you like Star Trek but aren't sure you'll like my writing, you can also wait until I post the first chapter before you decide you want in. Since it's fanfic I can't sell it obviously but by entering you give me permission to redistribute the fanfic on places like fanfiction.net etc., as long as I mention you in the comments or credits.

This story takes place over two eras: WrathofAutumn is playing a redshirt from the Original Series Era (but he's chief of security so he should be okay :P). He works on a Constitution-class ship.
Tica (I) am playing a low-ranking science officer aboard a Galaxy-Class ship in the TNG era. I'm a stellar cartographer, lieutenant JG.
We meet each other after both our ships experience the same strange temporal anomaly and we're both stolen from our own times and forced to crash land on a nearby planet.
You can either play a TOS crewmember from his ship, a TNG crewmember from my ship, or an alien on the planet we land on, which I intend to populate with furries.
PLEASE NOTE this is going to be a fairly short fanfic, probably no more than 10,000 words, so your character will likely only be a CAMEO and not a major character.
Go ahead and comment here or note me with questions/entries!
(and in case this gets popular, even tho' I don't expect it to, I'm going to limit it to seven slots)

Moving out of CO ~~
General | Posted 12 years agoFor those of you who don't know yet, I'm going to be moving to upstate New York starting in the first week of November. I'll have maybe one or two pieces of art that I will post before then, and my account may go quiet for a while after that while I settle in and attempt to find internet etc. I will be bringing my laptop and my tablet, so once I get set up with my job and get on food stamps (it's a non-profit, volunteer job where I'll be making less than minimum wage, so I'll need some welfare to get by) I'll try to get back into the art scene.
For those of you furs who are permanently here in Colorado, I'll be back to visit periodically because my parents and other extended family live here, and I'll probably be back for a month or two after this job ends, while I'm applying to new jobs. (I typically move temporarily into my parents' basement while job-hunting because they're sweet and let me do that.)
So yeah, whenever I do come back to visit I'll try to make meets and events if I can, just to say hi. I do not, however, intend to settle in CO permanently.
so, thanks to all the CO furs for being lovely people. I'll miss you! If you see me before I move to NY, be sure to say goodbye ~

General | Posted 12 years agoI've recently decided that, in order to be a proper furry, I need to start commissioning some con badges from other people--most furs at conventions have at least a few badges done by other artists, even if they've made their own also. However, I don't really have the funds to spend right now on commissions, since I'm unemployed and need to spend my money on gas and food until I get a job.
So here's what I came up with: art trades! If you agree to make me a conbadge, I will respond in kind. Sketch for a sketch, lineart for lineart, color for color, shading for shading. No backgrounds, though. I do mostly digital art, but if you specifically request a traditional piece, I will do it with ink and colored pencils. I don't have a lamination machine, but I will mail you your un-laminated badge in an envelope for free.
For my badge, all I ask is that you have a look at my character ref (found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/full/11530371/), and include the text "Tica" on the badge somewhere. You can interpret my character however you like, put any kind of flower in her hair (or not), draw her as an anthro or feral two-toed sloth--it's up to you. For your badge, I will do my best to accommodate your requests and follow any ref you provide, but I don't have time to make a lot of revisions, so keep that in mind. ^^;
I have no problem with artistic nudity, but I won't draw anything I consider to be pornographic. If you're unsure of something, ask me.
If you don't think that your art is particularly good, or if you are a beginner artist, that's okay--I don't care if the trade is "equal"; I just want something in your personal artistic style, whatever that may be.
Anyone interested in a trade please comment here or note me with, 1) what type of trade you'd like to do (sketch, lineart, flat colors, or full shading); and 2) a link to a ref sheet for your character OR a reference photo of your species OR a detailed description of what you would like.

Furry Bowling was a Blast!
General | Posted 12 years agoWent to a furry bowling meet yesterday, arranged by 
GRIZDOG and a few other folks at Moe's BBQ in the outer Denver area. The staff of the establishment were pretty fantastic and almost took more pictures than the rest of us combined, haha! They even came in for a giant cuddle photo when we were doing the group shots.
Highlights of my night:
- hanging out with
Kreoche, who's always fun times. I gave him my camera to use and he took a lot of film clips and pictures, which I'm sorting through now.
- a surprise present from
TakodaWolf21 -- a hand-drawn Tica con badge! I scanned and uploaded it into my gallery here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11509900/
- playing pool in suit with TakodaWolf21, 
RedLumas, 
Troj, and Corvius (?) (a three-horned, green-and-black canine--if he's on FA link me to him!). It was very difficult to play as a sloth, haha. I think I sunk two balls. (rules were thus: use the cue ball to sink any ball on the field. Winner is the one who sinks the most.) Our three-horned buddy sank the most shots! When there were only a few balls left on the table, cheating ensued... XD
- playing a serious, human game with all of the above folks out of suit, plus Kreoche. Our team lost. :(
- talking outside with folks and getting to know
theearthdog a little better. ^-^*
- bowling in-suit with TakodaWolf21, RedLumas, their younger brother, Troj, and a black bear girl named Kuni (thanks Troj for reminding me her name). Others bowled two of my ten rounds, but even bowling very slowly as a sloth (my ball only went 4-5 mph) I managed to get two spares and a strike! I *was* using the bumpers, but I wasn't the only one! and I totally won our game :3
- going out for food later with Kreoche. We went to the King Soopers next door, and I bought a peach and a mango and I was so in-character I almost bought a tub of spinach so I could much on leaves and fruit like a real sloth. But I decided I needed some more serious nutrition, so I bought some guacomole and rice crisps instead. (for those of you who might not know, I have very severe celiac disease so I only eat out of grocery stores, rather than restaurants.)
- getting pulled over by a cop two blocks later because I forgot to turn my headlights on! He look my license and registration and everything, but he didn't give me a ticket because I realized why I got pulled over and turned them on before he came to the window. He was specifically looking for drunk drivers, and I made a point not to drink any alcohol that night so he let me off easy. That's the first time I've gotten pulled over before though o-o
- playing littlebigplanet with Ledd later that night, till like 2 am Dx

General | Posted 12 years agoI decided I wanted to be easier to find on FA since I changed my fursona/furname, so here is my new account! Tica the 2-toed sloth, at your service. *bows... slowly...*
I'm moving everything over here from my old account (Gypsi-Rae). I plan on completely shutting that account down soon, so if you want to keep watching me, please watch me here from now on! (I am still Gypsi-Rae on Weasyl and G-E-Oriens on Deviantart. I post *all* my art on DA, whereas I only put furry stuff on FA/Weasyl, so DA has my old penname from high school as a username.)
