A Grumpystream Announcement
Posted 10 years agoI will smite down that wine thief with a thousand years of celestial punishment for this.
All my non-existent dignity...washed away!
All my non-existent dignity...washed away!
Grumpystream - May 8th @ 8 PM Eastern
Posted 10 years agoDo not be late. I don't take too kindly to tardiness.
I do plan to read more "bedtime stories" as well as participate in any other type of shenanigans that you youngsters seem to enjoy. Write your suggestions below and we'll see what my old back can handle.
Let's see if my big brother
can manage to crawl out of his bed and attempt to take back what's rightfully still MINE.

Posted 10 years agoTwo bottles were missing from my stash when I woke up. I don't know how, but it could not have been me that downed two entire bottles in the span of two hours. That would be a heinous accusation - I have more dignity than that.
It most definitely had to be that thieving roach that was on my stream. There's even photo evidence of it.
Also, I have heard whispers of the mad rambles and "storytime" I had performed. I am not sure what compelled me to read stories, but I can only imagine the tone of which they were read in...
--
Nonetheless, I thank each and every one of you for keeping me company on a Saturday evening. I shall return to the camera soon, unless my big brother has something to say about it...
The next Grumpystream will be quite soon - think in two or three weeks' time. While I still have some wine left.
For those that enjoyed the antics of the Grumpystream, I invite you to chip in your opinions on what other antics you'd like to see. As the gracious celestial deity I am, I would be inclined to entertain as best as I can. Comment or send me ideas of what things you'd like to see or hear, and I shall take them into consideration. I thank you all in advance!

It will take place at: https://furstre.am/stream/grumpytienlong
There will be wine. And there will be an angry elderly celestial dragon.

The Arcade of Furnal Equinox
Posted 10 years agoI have returned from the Furry Arcade at Furnal Equinox a while back, but have not had the chance to summarize the events until now. However, an old soul such as myself doesn't have much to ramble on about...
The first and foremost thing about this gathering was that I had my brother
join me unexpectedly, all the way from the East! Though he kept on grumbling about the lack of wine and the frigid temperatures up North (even though it's not THAT cold!), I knew he was overjoyed to be snuggled once more by his younger brother. He'll never admit to it, however.
Where was I? Ah yes. The convention. Simply put, I had enjoyed wandering the halls of the Furry Arcade, yelling at youngsters and approving of generous praise by those that show respect to celestials. I was quite sad throughout the whole convention, however, as not one drop of wine nor sake was to be found. I had even accidentally broken one of my wine gourds, causing me to keel over in grief. Ah well...it could have been worse. Like a broken back.
I did appear in some events during the convention, but most notably the Closing Ceremonies where some idiots had thrown me on-stage in some sort of "skit". I still don't know what it was about, but I know I'll be finding the troublemaker that got me into the spotlight in the first place. And eating him.
An old dragon's fingers grow weary from typing - I'd usually get my pet
to type for me, but he's nowhere to be found while he prepares for Motor City Furry Con. I suppose I'll be dragged there as well. I do hope that the tributes and offerings there are higher in number than at Furnal Equinox...

Who shall I expect to see there? And hopefully with some drinks for a poor old dragon and his bad back!

Grumpy Ponderings...
Posted 10 years agoAs old and feeble as I am, I cannot help but wonder about making more appearances. Whether it be online, or in performances, or elsewhere. Reason being, I would like to interact with the youngsters a little more and remind the humanfolk of their presence among celestials. Too many have forgotten.
However, being the elderly soul I am, I'm at a loss as to what youngsters would like to see me do. I am open to ideas as to what my audiences would like to see of me.
Some suggestions that I have been approached with include continuing my "Grumpystream" on a regular basis (monthly), or creating a series of videos about elderly problems and irks in the community.
What would you like to see?

A Celestial's View on Chinese New Year
Posted 11 years agoNO, you will NOT receive my blessing until I see my cellars full of wine tributes.
That is all.
That is all.
Stormy Winestreams and Sneaky Children
Posted 11 years agoI have returned from a surprise trip down south of the border to the lands of North Carolina, which I must say are a lot more mild in temperature than I remember making them. Alas, it was good to have an old dragon's bones warmed once more, for I would need the strength to carry out my vengeance upon a wine thief.
As many youngsters bore witness to, I had attempted to bring my wrath unto
's winestream, but had ended up a victim of my own cause and drinking myself into drunken stupor on-camera. Neverthless, in all of our combined stupor and technical difficulties, we had managed to entertain most folks and we are looking forward to doing more together. Perhaps it was a good thing that I had not eaten him on the spot, for there would be no more opportunity for more.
If you had missed the stream, there has been a section uploaded online. I dare not watch it and re-live my most tragic moments.
I must extend my gratitude once more for all those that attended the winestream, and that have left kind comments and watches on an old drunkard's appearances. Many question whether or not I will ever regain my regal stature after the utter embarrassment I was subject to - the simple answer is, never. Sigh.
I had also trudged out in less-than-friendly weather (due to not being able to control the skies properly due to inebriation) and attended the local bowling meet, where many youngsters took to an old god's presence warmly. However, many pesky children did not show such respect, attempting to poke my nose and pull my whiskers. The nerve of youngsters! I had to be restrained from devouring them on the spot, but the overall hospitality and friendliness of the
during the meet was quite welcome. I shall be returning a visit once more, and hopefully soon.
Where shall I be next, you might ask? I will be in hibernation once more for a while, but I do intend to partake in Chinese New Year celebrations as is customary to the celestial culture. I intend to appear more often in March, starting with Furnal Equinox and Motor City Furry Con. In both cases, the wine thief may appear and attempt to pilfer an old dragon's hoard once more. This time, I shall be ready.

A New Year's Update + Wine-Thief Stream
Posted 11 years agoI must have dozed off quite hard in my hibernation to have completely missed the welcoming of the New Year. But alas, there is still another new year that the celestials celebrate which is of more importance - Chinese New Year! You will be seeing me once more, joining the celebrations and keeping away from whisker-pulling rascals.
There is not much to report from an old drunkard's den. On this day, one year ago, I had officially descended to Earth along with my brother. It is quite hard to imagine that an entire year has passed already, as it had only seemed merely yesterday since my descent. I am hoping that I am able to enjoy the fine wines and the irritating youngsters for many years to come.
On a final note...my brother and I have been wronged once more by none other by our nemesis,
kagemushi, who has greedily purloined us of our celebratory stock. The silly roach even has the nerve to taunt us by hosting a wine-thief stream next Friday, January 23rd, starting at 7 PM Eastern. He has gone far enough without divine intervention, and I shall have to bring down storms from the heavens upon him soon...my brother and I do not spare those that cross us.
You may find more details about the impending clash of alcoholic titans here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15477647/

The Exodus of Midwest Furfest
Posted 11 years agoYes, you youngsters. I realize that the title has quite a bit of context surrounding it, as I was there during the unfortunate and traumatic events of Sunday morning. I am simply making what you young ones call a "pun", albeit a bad one. Don't make me zap you.
Moving on, however! I have returned from Midwest Furfest in Illinois, and was pleased to find the other attendees quite pleased with the climate that I brought with me. I was severely tempted to bring about storms and snow for the convention, but decided to show my gracious side for once.
My time at the convention was also nothing short of pleasing. Particularly because, after a very very long time...I had finally re-united with my older brother
. We were almost literally inseparable during the convention, as I refused to let my brother leave my side after he had been absent for so long. Together we roamed and reminisced the old days, as well as bickered over drinks and yelled at youngsters as we always do. It was as if he had never left.
We also had many run-ins with none other than the famed wine thief himself,
. I use this term as right when he had arrived and spotted my brother and I, he proceeded to procure our drinks and make off with them...the nerve of such youngsters! But of course, the will of celestial dragons cannot be changed, and our sake remained safe. For now, that is...for the next time, I don't imagine my brother and I would be so merciful.
Overall, the youngsters were plentiful but the annoyances were surprisingly at a low. Though my brother seemed to have experienced some fatigue in the lobby of the hotel, we managed to cover quite a bit of ground together during the parade and other times. We even had ourselves a little bit of a ridiculous photoshoot, but nothing shall be said about that...yet!
To all those that had taken photos of my brother and I, I do look forward to seeing them and cherishing the memories of our reunion. A particular thanks goes towards
,
,
,
, and
for their help with photography.
Sadly, I had to depart back home in the North before my brother did, but he was kind enough to actually give me his wine rather than me stealing it. I always knew that even through the years, he hadn't forgotten his kindness to his little brother.
I shall not be appearing at conventions until Furnal Equinox 2015. But know that the brothers will return soon...and we will return with a vengeance.

An Extremely Grumpy Livestream...
Posted 11 years agoSomehow, I have been coerced into showing my regal presence onto this "livestream" thing my human slave has been bothering me with. Well, at least I will not be alone...for my older brother
shall be joining me. Together, we shall be listening to all your nosy questions towards us, as well as bantering back and forth about our love for each other...and wine. Mostly the latter.
We shall be appearing on livestream together on Saturday, November 15th at 10:30PM Eastern / 7:30PM Pacific.
The livestream will happen at http://www.livestream.com/how2ronnie/, which is the human's slave's livestream. I do not use such troublesome things.

I will be there from Thursday to Sunday afternoon. I would enjoy being there longer but alas, my human slave is not able to stay as long.

The Villains of IndyFurCon
Posted 11 years agoI have returned from a long, weary journey to the land of villains in Indiana, but I somehow managed to avoid all the trickery of those villains running around IndyFurCon. Quite a restful time it was, with many moments of peace and yet many moments of action. A good balance for an old soul such as mine. As always, it was a warming experience to see familiar and new faces alike, for I do not know how you all cope with the detestable attitude that I bear.
Though I did not participate in any performances this time, I was challenged by several critters to join the "ALS Ice Bucket Challenge". Normally I would have laughed at such childish things, but this particular subject was a little more compelling. You may find out why below.
I could not have done my ALS Ice Bucket Challenge video without the assistance of my fellow drunkard
kagemushi, though I also wound up thirsty for the rest of the night...and my thirst manifests into a rage unstoppable by any force. But, nevertheless, his help along with his company after IndyFurCon does not go unappreciated, nor unforgettable. Perhaps I shall let him off with the sake...for now.
My next appearance shall be in the bitter winds of the Windy City, for Midwest Furfest! There, for the first time since our descents, I shall be accompanied by my brother. We shall see exactly how long it takes before our thirst for destruction becomes uncontrollable...

The Fireworks of Anthrocon
Posted 11 years agoThough originally the winds were not blowing towards Anthrocon, somehow I had managed to make an appearance and experience the convention that my brother attended before. I must say - I resented the idea of flying on other humans' transportation, but the trip itself was smooth and straight. I shall look forward to similar experiences in future flights.
As it was my first time at the convention, I was pleased to be quite well-received, even by the young scoundrels that ran circles around me. However, no one had warned me of the painstaking walks I would endure - an old dragon with aches such as mine cannot stand such journeys anymore. But nonetheless, I managed to traverse the convention with the help of painkillers known as "sake".
I was approached before the convention by the Director of Programming to partake in the new performance show, Anthrocon Tonight. One that all of you should have been at, for the stellar music numbers and performances, but unfortunately it ran parallel to the fireworks on the rooftop, dwindling attendance numbers. However, due to popular demand I forced my aching back to do an encore performance at the Masquerade on Saturday night. For those that witnessed it, I hope my form was acceptable. My feet and back have been aching me the entire convention, as always.
A heartfelt thank-you to all those who stopped and gave compliments to me and/or my performances. It helps warm an old dragon to know that he is not entirely senile and rickety - perhaps, for now. Many photos were taken and I eagerly await to see their product.
...my next convention shall be Midwest Fur Fest, which takes place on December 4-7th in the frosty lands of Rosemont, Illinois. I may not be making many appearances until such a time - but until then, the storm bides its time to strike once more...
...for I shall be joined by my other half.
Thunder rolls...

The Storm of Motor City
Posted 11 years agoAnd yet another one of these spiritual gatherings has come and gone. I traveled swiftly from the kingdom of the North to the land known as "Motor City" with
and
- the so-called "border guards" were not accustomed to a dignified creature such as myself passing through their gates and stalled my passage. Let's just say, they were lucky to have been alive once I was through...my fellow dragon companions had seen to it that I did not reduce the border to rubble.
However, my experience in the Motor City Furry Con was nothing short of grand and extremely pleasant. I had somehow acquired a staff position, which I thought to be a fatal error in the hands of an extremely annoyed dragon such as myself. I had contained my rage and had helped the convention in any possible form that an old dragon could. Needless to say, the back pain kicked in, but was rewarded by the joyous praise from the attendees. Old faces and new were met, and many happy moments were created and solidified in history. Many drinks were had, which one such as myself could not be more happy about.
I had the honour of crossing paths with
, also known as "Uncle Kage" within these realms - it is nice to know there are old grumps that appreciate other old grumps such as myself. It was nothing short of a pleasure to have partaken in rambling and drunkenness with him - one which I dearly look forward to redoing if it helps to awaken these old bones of mine. I know that wine certainly did. You and I have yet to begin cracking those bottles open....
Though be cautioned, my dear brother
...we may have conspired a little something to make you "tweaked", to say so. I just wish that Uncle Kage and I did not have to deal with so many damn cars in our way....grrrrr.
Alas, all happy moments must have an end, but it is not entirely saddening...for the memories and moments created will forever be remembered, sober or drunk. I shall look forward to returning next year if the skies favour it.
As for now, the spring weather is upon the North and so is the time for my working season - I need to continue amassing more gold for my tastes, you know. It is not as easy as being a god in the skies, where fine wine is constantly rained upon us.
The forecast for my return to these spiritual gatherings looks not to be anytime soon for this wonderful community - I shall be at "Condition Furry" in August as well as "Midwest Furfest" in December - although, my eyes may be diverted towards Pittsburgh in July, if the fortunes favour an old soul such as mine....

Posted 11 years agoI have returned from my travels to the spiritual gathering known as "Furnal Equinox". This was my very first time appearing at such a gathering...quite an experience indeed. It seems the folks of Furnal Equinox are fond of a grumpy, majestic figure such as myself.
I also was coerced by a white tiger and his henchmen to exhibit some of my...ahem..."negotiation" skills in their celebration of something called a "Masquerade". My form was terrible, and I feel terrible about it - I must inhibit my intake of alcohol and stretch my old bones more. Others have told me otherwise, but an old dragon knows best - he who uses a rusty sword can cut through nothing. I must sharpen my abilities, which have dwindled due to all this wonderful wine provided by my brother.
A sincere thank-you for those that were kind and said words of admiration. It is nice to know that my grumpyness is not infectious - after all, I wouldn't be considered grumpy if everyone was.
I look forward to returning next year. As for now, the winds are blowing me towards another one of these spiritual gatherings...one month away, in the kingdom known as Michigan...
