Posted 9 years agoI have a sudden drive to come back to my art and try to save up some money! But i would need my own paypal, and i am not super excited to do that if i wont even end up using it. And it HAS been quite a while since i opened for commisions so most of you watching me have likely forgotten i exist!
So basically i want a quick count of hands for who is actually willing to toss down money on me in exchange for my derpy little construction paper arts!
[i have been thinking i'd charge $15 for a basic to mildly marked character badge no matter the template. $20 if i have to get crazy with markings, and /or glue on wiggle eyes. But that is still being thought out. seems like a good place to start though so you all can get an idea of what you are looking at.]

dental rant
Posted 11 years agoTL;DR: Brush your teeth everyday kids or you'll end up like me. I got away with it up until it hurt to brush too frequently because the plaque build up filled my cavities in and stopped the nerves from hurting every time I ate.

Hmm... sitting here watching things on youtube I started to contemplate what the hell is with my breath lately. It's so bad that I can catch whiffs OF MY OWN BREATH. And it's been like that for like a week. So I poked around in my mouth to see if I had any new weak spots, because the last time I remember my breath being super bad was right before a catastrophic failure.
Sure enough, my last surviving back molar hurt to push on. (I actually have two but I'm pretty sure my jaw is busy absorbing the one that is completely shattered) So I guess I should start preparing for that tooth to go and pray that the nerve dies first so it won't become a "as soon as the dentist opens" emergency... like my last two. Going NOW is sorta out of the question.. because he'd want to save the tooth and refuse to fix it unless I give him like a thousand dollars to get a full exam and xrays and cleaning first. He made that part very apparent.
If the human body was built in a way to make home removal of molars even possible, I would opt for that over all the scraping and drilling and filling and coming back a few year later to re-drill and fill... I'm serious. Fillings are neat and all, if you have the money to do it. I really hate not having money for the things that everyone else takes for granted.

I didn't post here until now because... well most of you live REALLY FAR AWAY... and also because I know Blackpaws will volunteer and I don't wanna go and use them EVERY FREAKING TIME. Great friend but geeze, nobody else?
Anyways... It is time for my cat to visit his vet, and get all shot'd up. The rabbit is also going to get his blood values tested. I need someone to drive us out there(Novi) and hang out with me for an afternoon. Weekday if possible but saturday mornings are also a thing.

Posted 11 years agoI just removed NINTY-NINE dead favorites from my fav page. 99! What is wrong with these artists? Why dod they just DELETE images that have favorites on them? uhggggggg...
To bad there is no way to know what those images were or who the artist was. Cuz ya know the whole point of faveing an image is so you have it bookmarked forever. UHGGGGGGGG!!!!!!

More cell phone troubles
Posted 11 years agoSo, I may not have a cell phone in three days. Virgin Mobile apparently has this thing where if you don't add money to your account every six weeks, they send a ransom message. "Add money by [two days from now] so you don't lose your balance & to keep your service working." Now I've downgraded myself to the cheapest texting plan I could handle so we could save money and I could keep my phone. It's a $5/month plan. The cheapest top-up option is $10. So I pay for two months of service, use it for 6 weeks, and get a ransom message to add another $10. It's not a low balance thing, as we've done this for a few months already so I have a buffer of money still.
My boyfriend had enough of that, so he's not going to play that game anymore. But I also couldn't really get him to understand my side either... as I repeated the same thing 4 times and he still didn't get it. But that is a whole different drama story.
Anyways, so in three days when I fail to deliver the ransom I'll let you kids know what happens

More Rabbit Troubles
Posted 11 years agoSo yesterday Mr.Hunbuns, my boyfriend's rabbit, stopped eatting. He's a giant food-hound so I was already worried. I got him to drink some food-soup but not very much, and then he outright refused as evening set in. This morning he still had not eatten, and we hunkered down to decided what to do. I could keep him sipping for another day and risk him being in worse shape, but be able to go to MY vet who wouldn't charge us right away... but also doesn't have as much experience with rabbits. Or we could go to the exotic vet, rack up a big bill, and be sure we were in the best of hands available and taking care of everything right now!
We took Mr.Hunbuns to the exotic vet. (they have regular sunday hours). THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS LATER... His stomache is all backed up with hair and food mash, so he got some fluids to help break that up while we were there. We also got something for his gas, something for his pain, something to get his stomach churning, and something to get his intestines churning. Of course we also got Critical care, but that won't do much good if we can't get the mass of hair and crap out of his stomach so he just gets small meals for now.
The SURPRISE on the xrays was he has calcification on his liver! I was the most upset by that. Livers don't get calcification... it's not a thing they are supposed to do. So it likely means that something else is going on that is depositing calcification and the liver is just holding on to enough to be seen on xrays. (that is what I am understanding from the short blurb the vet gave) So he could have a tumor somewhere in there, or it could be a very slow-going thing that he's always had and we just never knew because he hasn't seen a vet in years! We sent off a blood sample so his liver values could be looked at. That alone was a third of the bill.
So, I have here in front of me a fun schedule of shit to do every few hours for the next two weeks. He gets to start Critical Care in a few minutes. Then he gets more a few hours after that, then more medicines before Shawn goes to work. Then I get to wake up at 7am to give MORE medicine and feed him, and again at noon. I will be pretty darn tired and also REALLY poor. That $300 was going to be our vacation and groceries. But at least we just went shopping last week, so we can just hunker down to rice and pb&js for a while. Would be super neat if someone could buy me some pop though.

When do you stop trying?
Posted 11 years agoWhen do you know you should stop trying? At what point do things shift from just bad luck, to wasting time on something that will never happen? If insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different outcome... how many times do you have to do the same thing and get the same result before it becomes madness? And how long do people expect a positive attitude to last when the world is grinding your soul into a dung pile?
How does one "pull themselves up by their bootstraps" when those bootstraps have broken from tugging on them so much?
I feel so alone even in crowds... Nobody loves me. Everybody loves me they say... but nobody wants me around. Everyone wants me around they say... but they wont invite me along. They'd invite me along... if I lived closer. I don't live that far away they say... but they won't drive up to visit and grab coffee. Is this that "hint" that they talk about people "taking"?
Everyone loves my badges... but nobody buys one. When nobody buys them, I don't make any. When I don't make any, I get out of practice. When I get out of practice, my next badge wont look as good. When my badges don't look good, they next person with money to buy a badge from me won't want it anymore. If I made them for free to stay in practice, why would that person waste money when they could just wait until my next batch of free ones?

I'm just becoming full of anger and fear and distrust. I can't make new friends because one wrong move, one wrong question, one wrong long-silence and I distrust them. The internet is confussing me today
Posted 11 years ago I just hit the fourth instance of "no... that's wrong..." today. It's nothing blatant like "the sky is magenta-turquoise" just kind of weird and hurt my head stuff.
Examples:
(1) The friendzone is demonized as a blame-shifter... when I feel it is just a state of being. Being "friendzoned" is not an attack, or a slight, it is just a state of where you are in that person's life. I don't hear people complaining when they get "longdistance'd" or "drinkingbuddy'd" because that is just the catagory you are placed in so the person can have order within the chaos that is having friends. Sure people get angry that they get shot down when they are revealing thier vurnerabilities... but it's still not about shifting blame.
(2) I say "Philippeano people are not Asian"... because they are 'islanders' and have more features in common with other island counties than they do with the larger mainland countries. Several people get kinda snobby and correct me that because the Philippeans are part of Asia then they are indeed Asian, and i am stuck sitting there like "but by your definition... Russians and Israeli are also Asian...wut"

Posted 11 years ago(for those that haven't been following along, my rabbit is 9 1/2 years old and has had trouble with his appetite most of his life. This incident is about two months into his most recent bout of not wanting to eat. He's been eating "critical care" as a supplement to his pellets and hay in an effort to get him up to a good weight and hopefully boost his appetite so he'll eat more pellets. He loved the taste and ate it freely from a bowl.)
I've seen this enough times in my rats.. Can't stand very well, sudden drastic weight loss, don't care what you are doing to them, syringe feeding just drools out, irresistible treats barely get a sniff...
I should have taken a hint when he was so sleepy this afternoon. But it was several hours earlier than he normally gets lunch so i figured he was just used to being asleep still at that time. I went down there a few times through the day and again figured he was just napping as usual. And he had my boyfriend as company still! But dinnertime is his favorite! That's when he gets treats and his mush and facepets and sometimes some exercise!! But he was still just laying there in loaf-mode... I became alarmed. A poke made his ears move; whew still alive. I went to pick him up, and he was the thinnest I have ever felt him. I didnt even know his bones had so many points!
I brought him upstairs and woke up my boyfriend because they are bros. My rabbit got mildly excited, and got a few minutes of pets and snuggles before boyfriend had to go back to sleep. Then I made sure his potty-bits were clean, and tried the syringe a bit to maybe make his night better. It failed, but he did eat a cranberry-raisin or two.. couldn't tell if he swallowed or just took them and held them. Then I got the fleece blanket and spread it in his cage so he'd be more comfy laying there (and so I could tell if he pooped or peed overnight).
So, this is probably it. Hopefully he goes in his sleep. If not, i'll see about having someone jolt me down to my vet and just have him put to sleep. (I'm pretty sure rabbits cant come back from the brink like you can do with larger mammals, with sub-q fluids and vitamin injections and all that)
UPDATE! 5:50pm
Welp, my rabbit is gone. I got him nine years ago during the Easter season, as a birthday present to myself. Now he's off eating dandelions in the sky.
Not sure what i'm going to do about his cage. Might keep it as a play-room cage for the chinchillas. Might sell it to a furry in need of a good rabbit/guinea pig cage. Might give it to a rescue.
But I'm not getting another rabbit... I am not a good match for rabbit personalities. Strict-Herbivores are foreign to me. I just don't understand them, and i became extremely angry at him several times in his life. I don't know how to train them (at least as much as I'd like to) and really just lucked out with how easy Monty was. Sure he was a picky eater, but he never sprayed or did massive amounts of chewing or digging damage. He kept his own nails short, rarely needed brushed, and wasn't all that active so he didn't mind being in his cage 90% of the time. I feel bad that i couldn't help him be more active, or teach him to love eating hay, or ever got him a bunny friend so his long cage-time was less lonely. But NINE YEARS is still a long time for a petstore bunny, so I must have still done pretty darn good.

My rabbit is sick AGAIN
Posted 11 years agoCatch up for those not familiar with my rabbit: Male medium breed rabbit approaching 9 years old. When he got neutered around the age of two, his appetite went with his balls. He's been a terrible eatter most of his life, so when he goes off his pellets it's no giant surprise anymore and I just wait a day or two while supplementing with healthy treats to see if he starts eatting again. He's entirely stopped eatting four times in his life. As such, I always have force feeding supplies available and am pretty well practiced at doing it without choking my rabbit.
So, Monty is off his feed again. He's added some confusing twists this time though. He won't eat HIS pellets, but he will eat snacks of veggies, dried fruit treats, the other rabbit's food (oxbow. It was giving my rabbit darker urine but boyfriend's rabbit does well on it), and some occasional nibbles of orchard grass hay but ignores his Timothy. So since he was still eatting SOMETHING, it took me longer to get real concerned. But when I noticed his poops were harder and had sharp points I grew concerned.
He was still acting 90% normal. What actually got my attention at first was that he "fell" two days ago. He ran across the room, made a gentle turn, stopped, then fell like he was dropped. Not the classic "FLOP". I've seen that plenty of times. Naw, he flailed on his side in a panic. Then got right back up. He's been unsteady occasionally since then but not for more than a second or two and then he's fine again. That was the first day he didnt touch his pellets.
Tonight he got some force feed for dinner, eatting until pissed off at me. Then a small "salad" of 1 dandelion green, 1 parsley, and half a broccoli all soaked in another puddle of force feed in case he wants to give in and eat some overnight. Between the syringe feeding and salad eatting I cleaned out his cage so I can find his new poops... assuming i'm not too late and his digestion has already stopped.
So two things for those reading:
1) He'll eat the other rabbit food... so should i give him a big bowl of that or would that risk everything just getting WORSE by changing his food too fast? Eatting is good. Diarrhea and gas from changing foods suddenly, is bad.
2) Anyone available to come over here and help me get him to my vet in Novi? Now that it's not the effing weekend, that's a viable option.

Posted 12 years agoYeah, i'm sick... doing art keeps me calm and busy at the same time so i'm not getting up and walking around just because i'm bored. Of course not just any art because then i might get roped into thinking too hard on a design and defeating the purpose of all this. So I picked two "stencils" for you kids to choose from.
Small googley eye head: basic construction paper rules... nothing with teeny tiny details you cant give up, and using colors i have or can create with pencils or markers. Eye colors of green, purple, and orange.

Why Weasyl?
Posted 12 years agoI'm kind of actually confussed why everyone is going to Weasyl and NOBODY is talking about Inkbunny. Pretty sure Weasyl isn't actually a furry site, so there is great potential for them to kick out all the "beastiality/zoophilia" once they get to coasting speed. That's not really BAD, but it's just setting so many people up for drama down the road that they could avoid by just being on Inkbunny instead/also.
