Pocket Refs and Commissions! 5 SLOTS OPEN!
Posted 11 years agoSo this new journal is to talk about two things, as the title indicates- Pocket Refs, and Commissions. :3
First off, Pocket Refs- You can view the final pieces here and here, thanks again to all who posted their characters in the previous journal. I'm very sorry I couldn't get everyone, but I hope you all like how they turned out anyways. :)
I am open for commissions, AND for Pocket Ref commissions, so if you are interested in a Pocket Ref or just any other kind of commission, please note me and I can get started on one for ya right away! ^^

If you'd like a commission or are interested in what I can do for ya, please feel free to send me a note! :D I am always open to communication and I love chatting with you guys, regardless if a commission is involved or not. ^^
--
I also want to clarify/update something in regards to how fast I can get commissions done/uploaded: I currently have an 8am-5pm full time job, so the only time I have to work on commissions are when I come home from work, and weekends. I do my very best to make commissions a priority during these times but sometimes, life does come first. In addition, we live in Texas, and our A/C just died a few days ago, meaning when I come home to work on my computer it's 93 degrees in my room. Not only has my computer over-heated twice so far, but it's getting too miserable to keep working in these conditions for too long. We're working on getting it repaired soon and I still grin and bear through it to get work done, but sometimes I do have to take a break.
Long story short, I take commissions seriously, I am more than happy to keep you posted on what status your commission is currently on, and I really do go as fast as I can while keeping my quality where I want it to be, but I'm not as fast at making them as I used to be, for various reasons. I hope you all can understand this, and please know that I appreciate each and every commission SO very much, as they are helping me save up to soon get my own apartment (and not have to live someplace with broken A/C), as well as saving up for attending Furry Fiesta this upcoming February. Thank you all SO much for everything.

Ya'll are awesome.

NO MORE PLEASE!
Posted 11 years agoMy car decided to break down yesterday and we took it into the shop today, only to have the price of fixing it come to a whopping 500 dollars. That's a week and a half of paychecks for me... I'd like to try and lessen the blow as much as I can with some commissions, but mostly, with something I'm planning here.
Which brings us to the "free art" the title talks about!
Right now I am looking for "test subjects" to participate in a special kind of commission I'll be offering soon. If you're willing to let me use your character, I will give you the free art piece that I end up with as a sort of experiment and examples for what I'll be doing. At the moment I only need four canines and four felines, and I'd like to have two males and two females of each. They MUST be anthro or have an anthro form, because that's how they'll be done. Please no wings- but small things like horns, jewelry, etc are fine. The only other requirement is that they either must have a reference sheet for me to use, or a good reference image. If there are any parts up to speculation I will either pick someone else or just guess with the colors.
This won't be first come first serve, and I won't pick and choose favorite users, I'll just use the characters that best fit with what I'm trying to do. :)
PLEASE fill this out and post it in the comments if you want to be a part of this:
Character's Name:
Gender and Species:
Reference:
Likes:
Dislikes:
Please list 2-5 likes or dislikes for your specific character, as well as their name, gender, and species, and don't forget that reference image link! ^^
Thanks guys! I hope this turns out well... I could really use the funds from this if it goes well for future commissions... @_@ Phew. Going in to the repair shop I was expecting to spend 150-200... certainly not 500... Talk about landing on a red space in the Game of Life.
Anyways, thanks to all, and I will try and get this done quickly! :D
-Tigger
P.S. Have I mentioned lately that ya'll are awesome? ... 'Cause, yeah, you are.
All full! Thanks everyone for your comments, I will really try and do everyone's... but no guarantees... ^^'

NEW JOB! COMMISSIONS BACK ON SCHEDULE!
Posted 11 years agoSO IT FINALLY HAPPENED. I HAVE A NEW JOB.
And not a temporary or non-career job like Wal-Mart or Pizza Hut like where I've worked before, but an actual job with advancement, career opportunity, 401K, a CAREER job that I can stay in for the next few years, years plus... It's not the job I would've wanted when I first graduated, but I guess I aimed too high and fell on my face with the whole animation thing. Who knows, maybe it's not even the thing for me? I don't know anymore, really. Funny, you graduate college and you think the world's ready for you to take it... and it's not. There's still a lot of work, setbacks, and questioning yourself... But there are also opportunities, even in places you may not expect.
So now, I start on Monday with a new, 8-5 full-time, Monday-Friday job. I'm going to be a proofreader for a printing company, so not the most glorious of jobs, but definitely an entry level position with room for advancement. I've just gotta get into this, work hard at it, get myself known with the company and let them know how awesome I am so they can move me up later on in the future.
BUT ANYWAYS. Ya'll don't wanna hear about this boring stuff, do ya? You wanna hear about ART. 'CAUSE GUESS WHAT. ART IS NOW A THING AGAIN! -flips out-
I have literally slowed down art, not just commissions but art in general, to a crawl this past month and a half. I'm very thankful to the few people who continued to commission me even when I said I didn't have time for it, those few commissions have been more helpful than I can say. And for EVERYONE who has continued to watch me even when I wasn't able to upload art... I can't express how much I appreciate your loyalty and dedication. And now... I can come back! I have found a job, so art is no longer something on the backburner, something I can only do for a few precious minutes a day. With a stable job, I can dedicate time again to you guys and to art, and I'm so thrilled.
So be on the lookout, guys! To get back into art I'm going to open commissions with a bang- an Iron Artist at discounted prices! I should be uploading the submission announcement sometime later today, with more information there. I'll also be "open" for some "informal" commissions for a while- i.e. if you want a commission please note me, but I won't be posting an official commission slot list journal until I've finished the iron artist commissions.
Anyways... yeah. :D That's about it! Keep on the lookout for those Iron Artist commission slots opening up later today! And if you want a commission done to the side, please feel free to send me a note and I'd love to work on whatever for ya. ^^
Thanks so much, guys! I can't wait to get started!!

Life Update
Posted 11 years agoThis isn't going to be a big long journal (or at least I hope not) but at the very least a journal with enough updates to let you all know what's going on in regards to my life and how it's affecting my free time/art time/commissions on here.
Colonoscopy and endoscopy. Then recovery (and pain which still hasn't gone away). Day-long teaching classes. Then finally getting cleared for classroom observations, so, day-long classroom observations. Babysitting. And lastly, TRYING to work in some time to spend with friends. And in the minutes I have left over at the end of the day, trying to sit down and work on commissions.
My life feels like a train wreck right now- literally, a train going high-speed and crashing, every single car slamming into each other and still going lightning-fast as it flips over and over on the ground, not stopping. And here I am trying to put all the cars back in order and back on the tracks... Needless to say it's not easy, and it's so damn stressful I can hardly stand it.
That being said, I unfortunately will have to CLOSE commissions right now. I have a few people whose commissions I am working on right now (as they had already ordered before I put this journal up, and I did promise them a slot on my current queue), but other than that, until they are all done and I can see through the smoke of my wrecking life, I can't accept any more. It's just more stress piling up on me as I know I need to get things done and yet I can't because 23,568 other things are kicking me in the rear at the same time. (They're not even nice enough to take turns, either.)
To people who I had placed on my "ON HOLD" queue, as they wanted a future commission, I unfortunately can NOT complete your commission right now, but you guys will be first on my list when I open back up. (I will list these people below.)
To finish it up, (darn, it really did become a long journal, didn't it) I want to thank everyone who has been so patient and understanding with me these past two weeks. It's been rough and I can't say just how much I appreciate everyone's kindness to me as I work to try and get your work done, even when life just can't give me a break. I will do my best, as always, to get my current queue done as quickly as possible, and with the best of my abilities, and open back up again for more arts.
Ya'll are awesome. <3

Commission & Life Update: Incoming Price Raise, New Career
Posted 11 years agoSo after four months of searching for an art job and finding none... It's time for a change. There are no animation jobs out there for me. There are barely any animation jobs out there, PERIOD. It's been four months of me slowly understanding that it's not going to happen, so now that I know for sure it's not going to happen, it doesn't hurt as much... but it still sucks. There's one dream, further slipping away... and four years of art classes wasted. Well, I suppose, not 'wasted'. The grades I got, and the fancy piece of paper that says "YAY YOU DID IT" I got for graduation, are both helping me get into an alternative teaching certification program. So that's where I'm going now.
Because of that, and for some other reasons that could go on and on, I'm now going to have even less time for art than I do now. Keep in mind that for the past four months, aside from looking for jobs and work around the house, I've been spending all day working on art. It's one of the reasons I upload art so often and my commission turnaround time is usually within a week. Unfortunately, for the program alone, just the classes I have to go to will take three days a week away from me for the next month and a half, not including online courses and studying for the content exams and eventual certification exam, the TExEs. And who knows how soon, but soon, I'll even get a job as a teacher, full-time. New career for me. I'm very anxious and excited at the same time... I'd even go far as to say I'm scared. it's going to be one hell of a ride either way, I'm sure.
So, in conclusion, I'm afraid I'm going to have to raise my art prices a little more than what they are currently at. On top of these reasons I have listed, I also tested myself out earlier, working as fast as I could (while retaining my integrity as a quality artist) on various commissions, and discovered that, with my current prices, I only make on average $7 to $9 an hour. That's... not enough. I can't justify that to my parents, or even to myself, as a legitimate job. I could make $12+ an hour as a part-time office assistant somewhere, so in order to keep doing art as a part-time job, I need to make more per drawing. I'm very sorry to those who might no longer be able to afford my art... I love drawing, and I love drawing for you guys, and I just wish the prices I had right now were enough. But they're not. I do NOT plan on raising them too much, though, probably by just an average of $5-10 per piece.
However, I'm not going to raise them right away. In fact, this is my current plan: Step 1, put this journal up announcing a future price change. Step 2, open TEN slots for commissions pre-price change. Step 3, ??? Step 4... Profit? (lame joke is lame) I will ONLY be taking ten people for commissions, ten slots, and it will be first-come-first-serve to post on this journal. Each person may commission no more than THREE separate pieces from me (i.e. you can get an icon, full body flat color, and a badge, but no more) for the slot they have claimed. These ten slots will be the LAST commissions I take before raising my prices. If I finish the queue before all ten fill up, I'll go ahead and start the new commission cycle. For the new prices, I'm not yet sure whether I'll upload an entirely new submission price guide, or update my existing one. Hopefully, I might be able to add some new commission options that will be both inexpensive and nice so we both win.
To Claim A Spot:
1. Post a comment here saying you want a spot.
1a. I will reply and say you have claimed "Slot Number __"
2. Send me a note titled "Commissioner Number __", with the same number I gave you.
2a. Give as much information in your note as to what commission(s) you want. Include reference sheets, feral/anthro, details, anything I might need so I can get started.
Current (and final) Commission Prices
So... Anyways, once again, thank you all to everyone who has commissioned me in the past, or even anyone who just watches me and is reading this right now. I appreciate your support more than I can put into words, and I sincerely hope that you all can understand and will continue to support me even though I'm making it a bit harder to do so.
As always, ya'll are awesome. <3

UPDATE 4/11: So tomorrow I start my first day of what I have affectionately called "Teacher Training". It is an all-day thing so I will be gone 9-4, during which time I will be unable to work on commissions, so all what I'm working on right now is on temporary pause. Thanks for understanding guys, please know that I prioritize your commissions as high as I can and as soon as I return from my training I will get back to your commissions. Thank you all so much!

===TL;DR===
Art job hunt failed. New teaching job incoming. Less free time + bigger need for funds = raising prices. Taking TEN slots for commissions before prices raise, 3 pieces per person. Sorry. ;-;To Claim A Spot:

UPDATE 4/11: So tomorrow I start my first day of what I have affectionately called "Teacher Training". It is an all-day thing so I will be gone 9-4, during which time I will be unable to work on commissions, so all what I'm working on right now is on temporary pause. Thanks for understanding guys, please know that I prioritize your commissions as high as I can and as soon as I return from my training I will get back to your commissions. Thank you all so much!

Need your input, please: Best way/s to raise money quickly?
Posted 11 years agoHey all, been a while since my last journal update, and while I usually don't like to post journals not directly about commission information, or especially journals regarding money (as I'm almost always uncomfortable discussing that), I feel that I need some input and some advice from ya'll about something rather important.
Long story short, for medical reasons, I find myself needing to pay, out of pocket, around $700 for both a colonoscopy and an endoscopy to determine if I have Crohn's disease, or Coeliac disease, or... well, whatever it is that's been causing me endless, indescribable stomach pains for the past year and a half. (It's probably Crohn's disease, from what I've read about it, but that's what this test will hopefully, finally determine.)
But yeah, I wanted to ask ya'll's opinion, advice, input, whatever, on what are the best ways to raise some money on FurAffinity- NOT by asking for donations or handouts, but what I can offer that will be the most popular, the most successful ways of providing you guys with good art, at low prices, with a quick return for me. Are YCHs the best way to go? Character adoptables? Feral/anthro, canine/feline? Auctions vs first-come-first-serve? PWYW streams? Buy one get one free/half off commissions? What are YOU most willing to purchase? Small, cute, inexpensive custom/premade character art? Large art bundles/deals for cheap? Chibis, paintings, bust/headshots, expressions, icons...? If I offered ______ for ___, would you purchase it?
Thanks again, guys, I really appreciate your input and will respond to every comment. <3 Even if it's just a "if you do _______ I'll buy one" comment, it will really help. As far as commission information goes, I'm currently finishing up FOUR reference sheet commissions, but once they are complete I will post another journal for open commissions.

Tigger: Back In Action! (Commissions Update!)
Posted 11 years agoSo my strep has gone away (more or less), leaving me with only a sore throat and yucky cough as a parting gift. At the very least, I can get up, move around, and, most importantly, get back to focusing on work! I feel bad making you all wait so long but I was very comforted to hear all of ya'll's supportive comments on my last journal, so with this gross illness out of the way, I can get back to work and make all sorts of awesome arts for ya. ^_^
So without further ado, here is my updated/recent/etc commission queue:
==== Current Commission Queue: ====
1.
captainbob1 Reference Sheet || Status: FINISHED
2.
dariushunter Reference Sheet || Status: ((ON HOLD))
3.
aurasoul Three Complex Reference Sheets || Status: Sketched, waiting for approval
4.
Kerrija Reference Sheet || Status: FINISHED
5.
paradox_lion Badge, Plushie, Sketch Sheet, Chibi || Status: FINISHED
6. Cadence (Email commission) || Status: Approved, waiting for payment
7.
saberglo Two Character Shaded+Lit || Status: FINISHED
For numbers 4-7, they were my "backup queue" I had kept while I was still full on commissions, so I will hopefully get to them asap. ^^ Once I'm down to 5 or less on the list I will re-open my commissions for any and all who'd like to order from me. :) This time, I will be able to get my "completion time" to about a week or less, without having to worry about getting sick. xD
Thanks again, guys!
-Tigger
P.S. So... for my birthday presents from my family, as practically a direct response to my success and enjoyment at TFF, they bought me a HUGE set of COPIC markers, a laminator, an art easel stand, and nice marker paper. I can go back to cons now, more prepared than ever! So... with FWA coming up soon... It's $158 plane ticket there and back, $45 ticket and probably $70 for the hotel... Should I go...? ^^' I'm nervous and indecisive!

Life: "Happy Birthday, Tigger! Here, have some Strep!"
Posted 11 years agoToday's my birthday, I'm 23 years old and I'm in bed with strep throat. Just... I can't think of a better summary of my entire life than that. XD;
I apologize that I haven't been able to upload any art recently or work on commissions. But I have been in bed for the past two days sick with a fever and a horrible sore throat. I'm taking medicine, but... Just gotta let it run its course, I guess.
Thanks everyone for being so patient and I'll do my best to... Uh... Fight this Strep as fast as I can? xD; Here's hoping it gets the message that it's not wanted here and leaves me in peace, lol.

Commissions Update! (CLOSED for now)
Posted 11 years agoFirst off, thanks to everyone for the amazing and overwhelming responses regarding my previous journal and my experiences at TFF. ^_^ I loved being able to meet all of you, see all the amazing fursuits, and just everything about it was great. Thanks so much!
And moving on, as I said I would, this journal is all about my current commissions, what I'm working on, etc etc. I'm very OCD about keeping order and track of my commissions, who's in what order, what I have left to do, etc etc, so this is the best way for me to both keep track of things, AND to let YOU guys know what the status is of your commission. Communication between commissioner and artist is the most important part of the process, and I hope this helps in some small way. :)

Soo... yeeaaahh. xD I've got quite a lot on my plate right now, so unfortunately I will have to temporarily close commissions, at least until I get down to 4 or 5 commissions left. Once again I want to thank all of my commissioners for their patience and understanding as I "recover" from TFF and get back on track with churning these arts out as best I can. I promise to continue doing my best in making you all the best possible arts I can, as fast as I can, at the most affordable prices I can. ^_^
Thanks again, everyone!
Ya'll are awesome!

Texas Furry Fiesta... What a blast!
Posted 11 years agoObligatory post-con journal is GO!
No but seriously. Wow. For my first con... I had such a GREAT time! I can't even begin to tell you all how awesome it was to be there, how much fun I had, and how amazingly rewarding it all was for me... both for the experience itself, and for the business I did there! Also, the stories I have to tell! xD Buckle up, it's gonna be a heck of a ride!
So yeah, I'm pretty sure this is gonna be a big journal, gonna try and talk about as much stuff as I can and tell you guys some of the stories that happened. But first I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU! To everyone who attended the con, it was fantastic! To everyone who stopped by my table, ya'll are awesome! To everyone who commissioned me and helped make my first con an amazing success, YOU GUYS ROCK MY SOCKS. And to all those who are now watching me, those who either took my business card or wrote down my FA and gave me a watch after the con, thank you so much! I hope I can keep uploading art that ya'll enjoy. ^^
Okay, so first story, first order of business... For my first con, I was pretty prepared, but at the same time, I made a lot of mistakes. I think my biggest mistake was not bringing food. Seriously, the lack of food for those three days was pretty bad. The total food I ate over all three days was... one lunchable, a cheese-and-crackers package, an apple, a slice of pizza, a donut, half of a peanut butter sandwich and a cheese stick. It didn't take long for me to forget about the hunger and focus on my work, but still... I'll admit I was pretty hungry 99% of the time! Now that I think about it, if I had to outline the three least-awesome parts of the con, it was a lack of food, a lack of sleep, and the STUPID DANG COLD that the hotel put the Artist Alley's temperature at. Every single person there agreed it was colder in there than it was outside... and I'm pretty sure I'm coming down with a cold. Ah, well. (The lack of sleep was because of having to get up at 5am to wait in line for a table, and not getting to bed until 2am because of working on commissions.)
BUT now that we have the bad out of the way... time to get back to the OVERWHELMING good! First off, everyone there was SO FREAKING NICE. I mean seriously, ya'll were just amazing, so polite and excited and happy and just all super-enthused to be there. I got so many compliments on my art, and I kid you not how many times I got money thrown at me saying "MAKE ME AARRTTTS". I even had to do the unthinkable and close my commissions a couple of times, just to catch up with my backlog! (Another funny thing, at the start of Day 1 I realized I'd made a mistake by not bringing any change... But by Day 2, I was the one giving OTHER artists change! :P) Every single character I drew was so much fun, I learned more and more about working with markers and overall drawing the more I sketched, and every single person was so kind and encouraging about it being my first con. There were even people who walked up and down the artist tables just handing out snacks like cookies, fun-sized Butterfingers, and I even got a giant pixie stick from someone! Whoot! :P
One of the coolest parts of the con was seeing all of the fursuiters. Not just the full ones, but even those just wearing some ears or tails! Unfortunately, because I was sitting at a table for 99% of the con, I didn't get to attend any events. Still, I had prime seating for watching most of the interaction in the main room! And what's more, the Fursuiter's Parade marched RIGHT by our tables! It was great seeing everyone act in their own unique way as they marched down the hall, either posing for the camera or being silly and shying away from it. (There was one fox who was holding up a Wile E Coyote-like sign that said "Wolves stink! Foxes rule!" xP) I think my favorite fursuits were a German Shepherd dressed up as "The Baconizer", with a bacon-patterned cape, a bacon mask, and even a giant plushie bacon (who I had the pleasure of drawing a badge for!), and an absolutely beautiful blue-and-white husky. Hopefully I'll find their FAs sooner or later! But still, I saw tons of fursuiters, way too many to list, some I recognized as my watchers, or people I even drew art for! The meet-and-greet part of the con was definitely my favorite, I got to meet people from all walks of life, all different kinds of hobbies and interests, but we all still shared that same love of the fandom and of our characters.
Once again I can't even begin to say how blown away I was by everything at the con, the whole experience of it all, and the massive reward of attending it. It was WAY more than I thought it would be, and to think I was worried that it might be my "only" con... Heck no! I plan on going to many more, as much as I can! And it's all because of you guys, who so massively encouraged me as an artist and just enjoyed meeting other furs, making friends, and having a good time. (I'm still sad I missed the dance competition...) Oh! And I wanted to mention, that I got myself a set of paws from Fuzumi! They were absolutely beautiful, amazing, so soft and cute and they matched Lerato's colors PERFECTLY! (Except for the paw pads, but she's making me a special set with pink paw pads and I'll be getting them in the mail by the end of the week!) I can't wait to show them off, haha! But yeah, I definitely learned a lot from this being my first con- I'm glad I was prepared with order forms, examples, and business cards, but there were a ton of other things I should've done or brought in preparation, and I definitely now know not to overload myself with too many commissions at one time, haha. Still... wow. Such busy. Many fun. Very art. Wow! :P
Okay... okay. okay okay. xD I'm slowly starting to "recover" from the intensity that was the con. I slept for a good fifteen hours last night and I've had my fill of some good, home-cooked food! Time to get back on schedule with online commissions... and, of course, planning my next con! ^_^ To everyone who's messaged me in the past three days, I apologize for not being able to get back to you sooner, but I will be replying to ya'll's notes very soon! And to those who have been waiting so patiently for commissions they ordered before I left for the con, thank you guys, I'll be getting to your art as soon as I possibly can. I'll also put up another journal sometime in the next few days outlining my commission queue and more updates and all that fun stuff. In the meantime, I'm gonna be getting back to work... and during my breaks, looking up some new 'cons here in Texas! (I was very lucky to live so close to TFF, it was only a 45-minute drive to the hotel where I stayed with some AWESOME friends.) But yeah, if you guys know of any, feel free to let me know! And if you guys have any photos you took at TFF, PLEASE do share them! I wish I had taken more pictures, but... busy busy busy! You can share stories, too, if you want! After all, you guys were the ones that made the con so awesome. ^_^
And with that, I shall take my leave! Gotta get back to those commissions, pick up where I left off, and get ready to take up some new ones! Again, thanks so much to EVERYONE who made my first con an amazing success, a huge ton of fun, and definitely an experience I will never forget. You guys. Are. Awesome. <3

Small Update
Posted 11 years agoThis is just a small journal update, brief and simple, to reassure everyone that I'm still alive. Been a little bit inactive as of late, more than I'd like to be, but that's because of a lot of real-life issues and problems that have surfaced.
However, for those who have Noted me requesting a commission, I HAVE received your message and will either a) reply shortly or b) show you a sketch of your commission as soon as I possibly can. I AM working on them as much as I can, it's just going a bit slower than usual because of... well, life. x/
Hopefully I'll have another journal posted very soon outlining more details of my commissions, with a list and slots, etc. But until then I hope this is suitable to let you guys know that I'm still here and still working on commissions.
Thanks all <3

Edit: Leaving tonight (2/20) for TEXAS FURRY FIESTTAAAAAAA. I'll be back Sunday night.... or Monday morning.

To My Commissioners: A Heartfelt Thank-You
Posted 12 years agoThis journal goes out to everyone who has commissioned me in the past, and all those who plan to commission me in the future.
Thank you.
From the bottom of the heart, as deeply as I can say it, with as much emphasis as I can make, thank you.
Right now I am in the middle of trying to find an entry-level job in an industry that is on a good day difficult for newcomers, and on top of that is in a huge slump and a slow hiring time. Hardly anyone is hiring for artists or animators, almost all of our jobs are getting outsourced to Canada or Europe, and those few positions that are hiring are all those that require many, many years of experience. In other words... I've been searching for three months and I've yet to get a single response saying that I might even be considered for the position I've applied for. Of the hundreds of applications I've sent, I've been lucky enough to get about ten or so emails rejecting my application. It's very rough for me right now, and needless to say my hope is running thin.
That's where you guys come in. Your commissions have helped me keep a somewhat steady income, so I can pay my parents my monthly "rent" while I stay at their house, eat their food, etc and look for a job. If not for you guys, I would've been long forced to go work at something like, say, McDonald's, to have some kind of income. And then I wouldn't be able to work on my art, improve my skills, and further pursue possible opportunities that may open in my field. Then, I would just be stuck.
So again, and as many times as I can say it, as much as I can say it, thank you. I can't emphasize how important you all are to me, and how much it means to me that you continue to commission me and support me in this difficult and trying time of my life.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Anyways, that's it for now. <3

Gimme some characters to draw! :D
Posted 12 years agoI'm practicing/experimenting with my new markers and pens and I'm trying to make examples of the kind of art I can offer/sell at Texas Furry Fiesta. But I've already drawn my characters, so I'd like some new ones to play with! <3
Post a reference of any of your characters if you like, and I just might draw 'em! :D Of course, once I've scanned/uploaded the digital file of it, you're more than welcome to keep it as gift art. If you're going to be there at TFF in a month, then by all means, you can even pick it up from me while you're there!
Once I've got enough examples, I'll be submitting a big collection of the kind of art I'll draw and offer there. Who knows? If all goes well, I might start offering traditional art as an every-day type of commission! ^^
Thanks guys! Post dem refs! :D Anthro or feral is fine, any species. (Please post SFW links, if at all possible.)
-Tigger
P.S. I'll take this journal down once/if I have enough refs to choose from.

Attending Texas Furry Fiesta! Badge trades, anyone? :D
Posted 12 years agoSo I made the decision, I'm going to be at Texas Furry Fiesta next month! ^_^ Hoping I'll have some fun and make a bit of money, too!
In preparation for it, and also as an excuse because I've never done it before, I'd like to get some badges of my characters to wear while I'm there! (ohmygosh this is gonna be so cool)
(also because I don't have a fursuit so this'll be the closest I'll get to "wearing" my characters)
I know there are a lot of you out there who do badges! And art trades, too! So let's have 'em! :D
Of course, I'll do it as equally as possible, so if you only do head-shot badges, I can make mine a headshot, or if you only do full-body, etc etc.
Here are some of my examples:
Headshot Only: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/11926710/
Full Body Simple: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/12558491/
Full Body Detailed: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/12577918/
If you don't draw/make badges but you know of someone who does, it'd also be really cool if you could tell me their usernames, so I could ask them! ^^
Thanks guys!

Character Design Contest! Total of $75 of art in prizes!! :D
Posted 12 years agoOKAY so it's come to my attention lately that I'm in need of a new character. But I'm rubbish at designing them myself. (Trust me, I've tried.) SO I decided, why not hold a contest for one? :D I'm going to be very free and open about it, and I have some great prizes to offer!
===Guidelines===
1. You CAN use lineart, as long as you don't remove the original artist's signature, and as long as that lineart is free to use.
2. You CAN use lineart to make more than one design, and enter multiple designs. I encourage this, in fact! You can't win twice, but multiple designs definitely increases your chance of having a design I like and thus winning!
3. You CAN create a design with either one pose or multiple poses. I won't show preference to either, I'll only focus on the design itself.
===My Character Preferences===
1. Male or female, I don't mind. Preferably, make it look ambiguous, so I can choose either way if I like the design.
2. I'm looking for one of three species: Wolf, Gryphon, or Dragon. ALL FERAL.
3. I like natural-based colors, but sometimes a hint/small amount of unnatural colors in terms of patterns, designs, etc.
4. My favorite colors are brown and blue, also cream and white. I LOVE analogous color schemes.
5. Please no jewelry, piercings, tattoos, etc.
===Rules===
1. If you enter but I don't choose your design, you're free to keep the design and do whatever you like with it.
2. If your design wins, you get the prize and I now own that design as both a character and design. I can do whatever I like with said character/design, including changing it, re-selling it later if I end up not using it, etc.
Simple, eh? And now, for everyone's favorite part...! :D
===Prizes===
1st Place: $25 worth of my art
2nd Place: $20 worth of my art
3rd Place: $15 worth of my art
4th Place: $10 worth of my art
Honorable Mention: $5 worth of my art
(depending on how many/few people enter, this MAY change.)
Since I'm holding this contest before my prices change, even if this contest ends after they change, this will still hold towards my 2013 Price Guide Here.
YAY GUYS WOW LOOK AT ALL THE PRIZES DON'T YOU WANT TO DRAW ME SOME AWESOME DESIGNS?!
.... please? <3
I know so many of ya'll who are kickass at designing, so why not lend a Tigger a hand? ^^
Oh right, almost forgot!
That's TWO WEEKS from now!
===To Enter===
1. Send me a Note titled "Character Design Contest Entry"
2. In it, include a link to either a) a link to a submission of entered design(s) or b) a link to an image-uploading site (i.e. tinypic) with entered design(s).
Don't want to enter/can't but still want to help? Tell your friends about it! Spread the word! All of that is so much appreciated! <3 Seriously you guys rock okay.
Fingers crossed, here's hoping we get a lot of entries, and I can find myself a new, awesome character to draw and show off! :D
Thanks, guys!

Posted 12 years agoSo, I'm just about finished with my brand-new commission sheet for 2014. As of right now I don't have any price changes, and that's what I need your guys' help on.
My Current Commission Prices
Right now my prices are still a bit under what I'd like for them to be. I'm just barely making minimum wage per hour, and while that's something I can live with, it's not ideal. I'd really like to be making more, but, at the same time, I've been on the other end of buying commissions and I know a) how great it is to be able to buy cheap yet quality commissions and b) how frustrating it can be when you can't afford just a simple piece of art for your character. So I really do WANT to keep my commissions low-priced and affordable.
That's where you guys come in.
Please let me know if you think I should make any fair changes to the prices, what should/shouldn't be raised, why or why not, etc. I will not hold ANYTHING against you, no matter your opinion, so please be honest! Would you still commission me if the prices were slightly higher? By how much? If not, then tell me so I know to let my prices stay where they are.
I realize this probably isn't the best way, the most "marketable" or whatever way to gauge interest on price changes, but I really won't be comfortable changing my prices without any kind of input from the people who watch and/or commission me. Because I do consider that and I do care about you guys, how you're able to pay for commissions, etc etc.
-insert another paragraph begging for your input/comments/ideas here-
Thanks guys. Ya'll are awesome and with your help I'm making some amount of income where I'm doing what I love, getting better at it, and not having to stand behind a counter in a stuffy uniform asking "would you like fries with that?".
-Tigger
P.S. Also still working on commissions, current list can be found here and once I've got my prices set I will put a new journal up with new commissions.
P.S.S. in other words guys if you want commissions before prices TENTATIVELY change you might wanna grab some now
