So... New update time.
Posted 12 years agoPersonal stuff: (aka mini-rant inc)
Living back with my parents isn't easy. I don't have time to work as much as I want, and in the time that I do have, I get yelled at for not having a "real job", not "helping around the house", not "being with family", not "sending enough applications" or "scheduling enough interviews", etcetera... it's rough. I'm doing the best I can but I often feel like it's not enough. I'm trying very hard not to let it turn into the kind of depression I had two years ago. That's the last thing I need right now. I really want to do commissions, but I also want to work on some personal projects that would help my professional portfolio, I want to get a freakin' internship... I'm way more busy than I ever thought I'd be... at yet, at the same time, I feel like I'm getting nothing done. I promise I'll still be taking, and working on, commissions, and I promise I'm making them as much a priority as I can, but I just want it to be known that it's not the only thing I have on my plate, as much as I wish it were. The day I can make enough money off of freelance art to sustain myself is the day I eat my shoes... Anyways. I'm still alive, (I think), so I'm still working and stuff. Yeah.
tldr; I'm here and busy and working and stressed and yay.
Thank you everyone for being so understanding. There are a lot of things I want to do, including make art...And, with a certain very cool pageview count coming up(3333 or 3456, whichever one's caught), (already been grabbed) I'd even like to do a giveaway or two. Maybe even a raffle, one day, or a big sale on commissions. I can't thank you guys enough for giving me these commissions and I can never fully express my appreciation for it. You guys are awesome.

Posted 12 years agoYup, another entry in the wonderful misadventures of my life. Ignoring the fact that I'm still sick, I have finals, AND I'm not getting to see my niece (who normally lives in Germany but is in the States for a week) even though she's with my parents 3 hours away... My computer broke.
Not sure how much I can say how BIG of a catastrophe this is for me. Seriously. My computer is my /life/. It has EVERYTHING on it. ALL of my EVERYTHING. I draw on it, I animate and do my classwork on it, I'm on it almost all the time, because that's what I do, I work in digital media. (Plus, who needs the real world, right?) And while working on it today, it randomly crashed and wouldn't start back up. Thankfully, I have a friend in a technical support business (he owns it, actually) so he was able to help me figure out the problem.
Good news and bad news- good news, my stuff's still all there. Wasn't a virus, and my memory and all that is still intact. Haven't lost any files, thank god. The bad news? The CPU's fan is fried. Broken. And the soonest I can get it fixed/replaced... is after I graduate, when I get home, which isn't until NEXT MONDAY. No, not tomorrow, the monday AFTER that. Until then? Well...
Because it's the fan that's broken, my computer will shut down because it's overheated. And if it's on and working for any more than thirty minutes at a time, it'll shut down because there's no way to cool down the CPU inside (otherwise it'll melt). So I was able to retrieve all of my necessary files for my finals week and then shut it back down after letting it cool off... But it still stays that I can really only get on my computer for upwards to thirty minutes at a time, then I have to let it sit for about another thirty minutes to let it cool. Even this is pretty risky, I could risk damaging the CPU permanently by letting it get too hot too many times.
So... With all that said... How am I gonna get any work done, you ask? How will I get my commissions done? HOW, oh HOW will I be able to keep up with the new AH Let's Plays?!?! ... -cough- Well. In all seriousness... how am I gonna even function for the next eight days?
The answer?
I have no clue.

I appreciate you guys, each and every one of you, so much more than I can say. I want to thank each and every one of you individually but I am just so tired... And I'm so grateful you all understand. I'm going to try and keep going... it's hard, but what else can we do? And I'm just so glad that I have all of you guys there with me.

I caught strep throat and am very very sick. I feel awful because I still have a bunch of commissions left to finish (some who have even paid already), as well as a bunch of homework and assignments for my finals coming up next week. On top of that, my father checked into the hospital today with huge leg pain and they're saying it may be a blood clot... And things are rough many other places, too, I just don't want this journal to be /too/ depressing. Just an... well, not an "up"date, but just to keep everyone here posted on how I'm trying to work through commissions as fast as I can. Thanks so much for understanding, everyone. I really badly want to start celebrating the Christmas season with sales and deals and raffles and a whole bunch of fun art, but... not just yet. I can't really do that just yet.

First off, I've updated my prices slightly. They're still very inexpensive, now I'm just trying to make a little closer to reaching minimum wage. :V You can find it in the same submission file, located here: (You might need to refresh the page.)
Anyways, with that, as far as commissions go...
I've been worn out a lot these past few weeks. Both with commissions and class work. I'll be adding a Terms of Service upload soon, most likely... Anyways, I do want to keep commission going, though, so they're back open for now.

First off: I am finishing my last queue commission, so once it's done I will open commissions again.
Second off: I have decided my new prices, so look for a new upload soon that will have my edited prices. I will upload it once I've finished and uploaded my current and final commission. ^^
And now that prize thing I mentioned!
Guess what my Favorites count is? Well, it's about to reach- holy crap- 1000! It's VERY close, and whoever grabs the 1000th favorite will get a FREE art from me! :D They will be able to choose which art kind they'd like (no more expensive than $10 at my current prices).
Wow, that was fast. XD; This has been won! WHOOO! Congrats kikyoyaoi!
(Slightly less big and recent, but my comments received is at 524, so when/if that reaches 600 I will also do another prize giveaway thing. Yay!)

Oh my gosh it was so much fun you guys I met John Barrowman and I got his autograph on one of his CDs and pictures and I also got a minecraft diamond pickaxe necklace and I got my picture taken with a dalek and with bane and oh my gosh you guys it was so awesome. SO AWESOME.
-cough- Okay. ANYWAYS!
Thanks for ya'll's patience, I had a great time at the con and now I am back and getting back to work on that commission queue. ^^ Again, commissions are still on hold as I work out this queue. It is as follows:

Important Update! (Commissions, Prices, Life, Etc.)
Posted 12 years agoHey guys! Like the title says this is a journal for important info regarding my commissions, prices, real life stuff, etc etc. So without further ado!
This Thursday, I will be going home for the weekend to attend my first ever Comic-Con! It's not a big one like San Diego, but it's still a Comic Con, and I'm excited to just have some fun and experience a convention and all it has to offer, especially for an animator and artist like me. THIS MEANS: Between Thursday and until I get back home (probably Sunday afternoon/night) I will be unable to work on any commissions. (And of course it goes without saying that I also am taking 18 hours of classes and have various tests/projects/etc that for some reason decided to converge on this very week... YAY LIFE.) Now, noting that I currently have seven commissions requested and lined up, this also means another thing:
Commissions are temporarily on hold!
My current queue stands as thus:
1. Progress: Inking
2.
Progress: FINISHED
3. Progress: Not yet started
4. Progress: Not yet started
5. Progress: Not yet started
6. Progress: Not yet started
7. Progress: Not yet started
Please do not note me asking for me to work on a commission, because 1) I will not be able to get it done soon anyways, in the time frame that I like to keep myself to, and 2) it will just confuse me from the commissions I have to do that are on my current queue.
Oh, and 3)...
After being told by MANY people several times recently, I am considering raising my prices, but only slightly. I know there's the golden triangle of "good, cheap, and fast", and I try and keep my prices both cheap and fast, because I don't see myself as good or as well-known of an artist as many others on FurAffinity. However, at the same time, I do recognize that my prices are pretty low for the time and effort I put into each piece, so... Anyways!
I want to know YOUR INPUT, should I raise my prices? If so, by how much? The last time I raised my prices on my own, I ended up not getting any commissions. And I don't want that to happen. xD; If not, then please let me know too! I will answer all comments and reply to all suggestions, and any and all opinions are very much appreciated. <3 After I'm done with my current commission queue I will most likely be re-evaluating my prices and my commission information, but again, I want to hear anyone and everyone's take on the matter before I set anything in stone!

Blisters and closed commissions... for now. :(
Posted 12 years agoSo yeah, a week into my new job and they're already working me double-shifts every day. I don't even get any days off for the next three weeks (except for two days I previously asked off for family obligations). I come home exhausted, late, and today after coming home from an unexpected double-shift I picked up my tablet pen only to be greeted by the lovely sight of red blisters forming on my palms and in between my fingers. Double yay?
Unfortunately this means I'll have to close commissions for the time being until I finish the two I have yet to do. For those two who are commissioning me, I apologize that the process will be slightly slower than it usually is, and I thank you for your patience and understanding. I have the best watchers and commissioners, I swear. <3
Anyways, that about does it for this journal. I'll update again when things slow down or I can open commissions again. Thanks again everyone. :)

New Job and Commissions!
Posted 12 years agoHeya guys, another journal as an update for ya'll.
As of two days ago I now have a job for the summer, a full-time job working at Jimmy John's. (For those who don't know, it's a sub sandwich place. VERY yummy.) I've only just started and my dad's already screaming at me for car payments and student debt... It's all very stressful and depressing and I only wish I could live someplace else for the summer instead of here. x/ So, with all that, I'll still be accepting commissions. Here's hoping every penny I own through here can somewhat appease his rage and leave me one more day without another lecture about work and car insurance and phone payments and all that fun stuff.
So, tl;dr, dad demands money so I ask for commissions. ^^' Right now I have five slots open and will keep track of 'em here. If you're interested (ILU) please comment here and/or send me a note with what you'd like! I tend to work pretty fast, and I always show a sketch before requesting payment. :)

The first is: COMMISSIONS!
As I am half done with the raffle, I feel as if I can post a journal opening commissions. Now here's some cool bit of news: If I can make appx. $50 by the end of the month, I will be able to go to Onicon this year! :D I have never been to a con before, so I would absolutely love to go, but like anything in life, it costs money. Which I don't have. :V SO if you'd like to help me towards this, please feel free to commission me! My prices are low and every little bit helps. :3 All of my commission information can be found in the commission info tab, and I am more than happy to work out deals if you'd like a large amount of art at a lower price.

Posted 12 years agoSO I've recently surpassed 100 watchers, which is pretty dang awesome! As a little celebration I decided I'd do a small giveaway/raffle thingy. You don't have to do anything except be watching me, and post on this journal! After Friday the 12th at midnight I won't count any comments, but then I'll take all the comments I have and randomly generate 4 (four) of you guys to receive free custom badges! :3 Just a small way of me saying thanks for watching me. ^_^ (Also, if you have any friends who aren't watching me, feel free to point them in my way to watch me, and they can enter, too!)
