Back in late January/early February I found out that an eleven year old boy had attempted to kill himself after being bullied for being a Brony. Eleven years old and he tried to hang himself from his bunk bed because of enjoying a cartoon show. Thankfully his parents found him and rushed him to the hospital. Up until a few weeks ago, Michael has been kept in a medically induced coma and they had no idea if he would make it. Michael is apparently making huge strides in both his physical and speech therapy and has been off the respirator. It's been a scary time, particularly for those of us who are friends of the family or are connected to someone who is. Michael only lives about four hours from me, and I know I personally have been working at several fundraisers for him as the family, last I heard, had no insurance, and we all know how quickly medical bills can add up.

The family is still doing fundraising and welcoming any donations. Right now they are putting the donations towards a new wheelchair, a handicap accessible van, and a wheelchair ramp to get into their house, all in prep for them to bring Michael home finally.

I don't care what your feelings about MLP are. I don't care if you hate the show/hate bronies/etc. This is about showing support for an eleven year old boy who thought the only way he could escape bullying was through suicide. I am going to put this out there now: Comments that I decide are inappropriate and anything less than showing your support and well wishes for this child WILL BE DELETED. Take your negativity and shove it.

Please, take the time out of your day if you can to help spread the word about Michael. He's getting so much better every day and still needs all the positive thoughts he can get.

So I'm home in NC for about another 30 minutes, then I'm off to work a horse show in Virginia for two weeks. Then I'll be back home for another two or three before running off to Blackrock Michigan's new ren faire.

It hasn't been the easiest, but I'm so much happier than I was working corporate.

Now for some bad news. Last night my boyfriend's tent was broken into at the fetival that he's working. The theives stole about $250 cash, some of his clothes, phone charger, batteries, air pump, and medications. What wasn't stolen was left in the rain and is now either filthy from being dragged in the mud or ruined from being left in the rain, including a $150 jump box/back up battery. So yeah, I'll be figuring out some sort of emergency commission thing as he's not sure he'll make enough money to get back home right now.

So that's about it. :/

So I will be leaving here sometime around 12am est to head to Texas for a week, then onto Georgia after that for work.

This will not affect my commissions while I'm gone from NC, though there will not be a whole lot of work done this first week. I will still be taking orders, so have no fears!

Updates might be slow as I won't have much in the way of internet, but I will do what I can to keep everyone up to date.

I lost my job.

I'll be filing for unemployment, food stamps, wrongful termination and looking into a discrimination lawyer come Monday.

In the mean time, take a look through my journals and let me know if you're interested in purchasing a cat hat, arm warmers, etc, from me. This isn't the end of the world, but it certainly feels like it.

Basically I work all the damn time. 50+ hour weeks, sometimes even 60+. Lately it's been the 60+ as one of my employees has been pregnant and came down with appendicitis and had to go in for surgery. So she's been out for almost a month and a half. I'm lucky to get one day off a week and during that one day, I tend to sleep most of it away and then spend the rest of it with my boyfriend. On top of that, my assistant manager constantly calls out due to truck trouble and I often have to send him home early to deal with family drama.

She finally comes back, my work load finally gets a little better, and then a deposit bag goes missing under my watch. Currently I'm on suspension waiting to find out if I still have a job or not. Joy.

So yeah, super fun times. But I'm trying hard not to have a break down, getting my head straight and medication in order. I'm gonna finish up both my trades, then maybe make some more arm warmers and hats to list for sale, just to prep for worse case scenario and at the very least, have some extra play money.
