So I had to leave town for a bit on a trip with my husband. It was a very nice visit with some friends for me while he worked in the field and I got some personal art done. Sadly didn't have a way to access the internet and art at the same time, but now that I am back, I will be beginning work on commissions. I did get some interesting things done, including a series of owl ATCs and a manga cover style drawing of one of my favorite characters.

Now! On to commissions.

I am still offering one dollar sketches. These will have cleaned graphite line art. I am willing to do nudity or clothed characters. They must be original characters and I would prefer not to draw fandom OCs. There are several things I won't draw, so if you have something quirky, ask first and have something mild in mind just in case I can't do what you want. Absolutely NO cub art, scat, water sports, feral fetish, or diapers.

I am also still offering three dollar colored mini sketches. These will be bust commissions (head and shoulders) with a decorative background. They will be inked and colored traditionally and are 3.5x5 inches in size.

This weekend was pretty wonderful. Picnic with my hubby, then drawing and inking and working on Artist trading cards. I've also nearly completed everything in my free sketch queue. Seriously, I have one detail to complete and one pic to scan and I am finished with all five! All in all, it's been a pretty great few days.

I have a few projects I'm working on, some art to sketch and ink and color, but most of it will be on my AluminumSunset account on dA. I AM going to have new art here, soon. I was just redoing several old characters over on dA.

I will be getting a new webcam soon, which means I can start livestreaming my color work as I do it. Until then, I might have to do a couple simple digital pieces. I'm not really sure. I'd love to just do art with people around. So fun, even if they are only "around" online.

I'm really hoping to get some neat stuff done in the future. So keep an eye out!

So! I really would like to practice my skills. Thus, I am offering a limited number of free OC (original character) sketches. These will be pencil sketches, scanned files only. They may still have guidelines but I will make a very good effort at them. I ask that you keep requests to one character and that you don't ask for any super complicated pose without providing pose references. I'm at a loss. I don't really know what to do except try to get my name out there. I want to draw for people, want my work to be valued enough that I can at least get paid for some of it. I want to feel a sense of community. But it has been a long time since I've been around and it is honestly difficult to get back in the swing of things.

I honestly don't know what I can offer that is unique or eye catching. I don't know exactly what to do. It's troubling. I want to jump back in, I want to offer requests and I sincerely want to follow through with them. I want a chance to try new drawing skills out and really get things rolling.

But I don't even know. I don't know if there is anyone who is still really reading what I write. I don't know if I am good enough. I don't know what I should be doing aside from working to improve.

So aside from that, what should I do?

So things got really rough for a while last year. Pain from my fibro hit so hard I could do nothing to combat it and was often in the ER, work got super busy, and I suddenly found myself unable to do much art at all. Other projects cropped up, opportunities came and went, and relationship drama and friendship drama was had. I honestly don't remember what I owe who anymore. (Let me know and I will finish it, I just got into a place where I literally could not do art of any quality.)

For the past few weeks to a month, I've been drawing regularly again. I'm coloring traditionally, learning new techniques, and trying to get back in the swing of things. To be honest, I'm scared of coming back here where I feel I've let people down. But I'm willing to try. If anyone is still willing to talk and whatnot, go ahead and leave me a comment.

Right now, I don't have anything but sketches to upload here, but I've uploaded a great deal of new stuff on dA. I just have to ink and color some of my anthros so I can post them here. We have a scanner now, things are going okay, and I really hope that the art drive I've finally gotten back is here to stay.

I am sorry that things are taking so long. I've been so busy and in so much pain lately, I haven't been able to draw at all.

Recently, my right upper wisdom tooth broke badly. I can't afford to get it taken out and unfortunately it is causing constant migraines and aggravating my fibro flares. I'm finding what I can do very limited. I WILL get your art to you. I WILL do a good job on it. But I won't rush it and risk compromised quality.

Again, I am sorry, but right now, even a paying project has been put on hold. So. Please keep in mind that it might take a while but I will get your art to you.

It's time to set your clocks back. Well, for most of you. Some lucky ducks, like me, don't have to wake up and be confused tomorrow (or stay up late and be confused tonight).

Anyway, I've been so busy with NaNoWriMo and another project that I haven't had time to do anything fun. So take advantage of my desperate need to sketch. For the next day, the first three people to comment on this journal will get the following:

So there is a person on my sci fi forum, which I hadn't checked in a long time, who knows me from another game. Only... I have NO memory of who this person is. I am so very very bad with names. They joined last fall but I never approved the profile. I have no idea who it is cause they say they need to get ahold of me. I am sorta scared.


Anyway, yeah, that was random. I hope to start drawing again. I haven't been because I hurt badly most of the time. I don't even have a drawing book right now. *weep*

In other news, I will hopefully have some more art done soon, but I am just exhausted from having a guest over for the last few days. He's gone now, so I have had a chance to relax a little today. Still, all my muscles are tense and I hurt.

I don't know if I am going to continue with the Goodlies and Deadlies. Apparently someone popular has come out with a Seven Deadly Sins meme and I don't want my stuff to get lost in the shuffle. I dunno.  meridianbat says I should do mine, anyway. All the drive is gone, though. It never fails that I do something and three days to a week later, everyone is doing that exact same thing and I am completely ignored. Blah.

I have felt sorta ill the past little while. Coupled with a few other things that are going on, I am very tired and very irritated. I know I will calm down, but right now I just want friendship and a place to hide.

I realize it has been over six months since anyone has shouted on my page. I realize I have become withdrawn, but even I need contact.

I am even more upset at the people who run this site than before. Respond a little faster and you might see the problems. Or accept that maybe we might be telling the truth. I stared at that damn pic last night as it had zero views. Not my pic. And refreshing didn't give it a view. Which it should have. This isn't fair to us who think our art is undervalued already. Fix the damn problem, instead of writing it off as "well, it looks okay to me."
