Allright, another update... woo!... in time for Friday... and just a heads up, updates will be on a M-F W schedule... so one week is Mon and Fri and then the next week is Wed update... and it'll alternate like that for a month or two... so prolly after march I'll be back to twice a week and hopefully by June or so I'll be ready for a three times a week schedule like all them fancy proper comics...

Allright, I made my goal of updating the comic in february.. so... yay me!

in other news, I didn't do a title page for this volume, mainly because that'll happen on the second or third page... anyhow... I don't know how long this volume is gonna last, but thanks for sticking around for the ride... but I'll say one thing.. I don't expect this to continue passed 2012... so another year and a half and that should do it... but eh, I suspect that the end of my comic will also coincide with the end of this attachment I have with FA as well... so ... whatevs... right?

that's all I got for now... sorry I don't update often or at all on FA, but geez.. it's not like there's a whole lotta reason for me being here... heh...

Allright... The Volume is over... I have one more final update for the website, and then I'll be taking my leave until February when the comic will return.. hopefully I'll be able to concentrate on Eryl, Penny, Jocelyn, Donovan and Heather this time around and leave the dating scene between Miranda and Brandon as the secondary story...

The whole purpose of Vol.1 was to intro the characters and Vol.2 was to expand on them all as well as introduce Penny... now that Vol.3 is coming up I plan on expanding mainly on Eryl and his need to create a new cybernetic chick for his wanton desires... I know that some people will want to concentrate on Brandon and Miranda, but they're pretty much wrapped up for now, there will be updates on them, but this volume should concentrate on the other characters...

Angelina and John will also take a step back from the focus as they're accessories to Miranda and Brandon... but I still need to check in with them eventually... so yeah.. everyone'll be back, but just not as much for the last volume of JAWC... thanks for reading and hope you stick around for the Final Volume of JAWC starting in FEBRUARY 2011...

just an update about the comic for anyone still watching this acct... uh... comic is almost finished up for Volume 2 and Volume 3 is set to drop sometime around the end of January or Beginning of February... so expect a two month hiatus for JAWC starting at the end of November... so yeah, just a heads up...

in other news... Volume 3 is slowly getting written out, I have an outline for the first half of things, but I still don't know how to end it... anyhow, hope you all enjoyed Volume 2 and will keep watching come the 3rd Volume...

yeah, after this journal I'll stop announcing that I'm actually doing the normal thing and updating on schedule... so last time...

I've made another update... I know I'm late mentioning this, but hell, I was busy updating... go me! anyhow... gearing up to start drawing the last day and epilogue for Volume 2, and then I'll work on it for a new year update for Volume 3... so here's to hoping I can think of a Volume 3... I mean... seriously.. this comic has no real focus.. it's not very well thought out and it's let's face it.. it's a mess...

I'll try to work something out for an actual storyline for Volume 3.. but regardless.. Volume 2 comes first.. next update is Friday.. see ya then I guess... ^^

I am never giving myself a definitive date of when I'll be updating the site.. I mean, holy shit, it's August.. almost mid august... it's not looking good for me at the moment.. I mean, shit.. can I be going any slower?... yes... but I don't want to ... so I need to get faster... shit...

I keep pusing back the date on this, it was supposed to go up back in May.. or June, then July, now August? I'll be damn lucky if I can get this thing back on the ground running sometime this month.. shit.. just... ugh... -_-;;;;

Anywho... sorry for all this waiting and whatnot... geez... so many things I want to say... but shit... just let it be known that I have the rest of the Friday Chapter inked and in process of finishing up... I need to work on the Saturday chapter and then Volume 2 is finished... so look foward to the end of Volume 2... I hope to get it done and uploaded by the new year...

there we go.. a GOAL!.. All of Volume 2 done and uploaded by the New Year... so wish me luck and that way when I go on hiatus for the new year, you'll at least feel some damn closure for the characters... sorta...

July... that's when JAWC will return...

I've been working on the ending to Volume 2 non-stop the last few weeks, been revamping and drawing it out... well, at least the rest of "Friday" is drawn out, as for the ending of Volume 2, it's all written out and if all goes well, I should have it drawn before the end of the month and then while updating the comic in July I can start writing Volume 3.

Volume 3 will be interesting, probably because it deals with everyone's ending and we find out what happened with Eryl.. yeah, I haven't forgotten about him... hopefully Volume 3 will be the end of JAWC, I'm not sure how long it'll be, but I hope that I can leave it ending well enough that if I ever felt like it, I can always revisit the characters...

But enough about the ending of the series, I still have to concentrate on the ending of the current volume...

anyhow, figured I'd let those watching me know about the good news...

Yeah, anyone actually clicking on this will note that my site hasn't been updated in a while, well, time to give reasons, which aren't excuses, but explanations of why it happened...

Question - WHy haven't you updated your website yet?
Answer - I've been busy working on commissions and since they provide me a meager income, they take priority...


Question - Will this happen again in the future? why aren't you like *insert webcomic artist of your choice* they update on time?
Answer - Yeah, it's gonna happen again, prolly around October 12th when I go on hiatus for about a month cause it's my Birthday... also I'm not that artist... I respect that they can keep updates, but obviously I can't... -_-;


Question - Why haven't you posted anything to your FA in a while? Do you hate us?
Answer - Haven't posted cause I haven't drawn much JAWC related stuff in a while cause of my taking commissions... and no I don't hate you, I prolly don't even know you... and for those I do know.. no, I do not hate you guys... you guys're awesome...

That's all for now... I'll post again in the future... take easy and hopefully next I update will be with good news about me updating my website...

Step 1 : Write a bloody script ahead of time... this way you have something to work on with step 2.

Step 2 : Rough sketch what you want your comic to look like... don't make it detailed, just put rough sketchy crap on paper so you have an idea of how many panels you'll have and who goes where in those panels...

Step 3 : If you don't want to waste money on expensive prelined paper for comics, or you're doing this for the interwebz... then please, make your own grid/guide for your comic, including the panels you'll need that way you can draw your comic.

Step 4 : Start pencilling your comic... I know it'll be rough at first, but this is the basic foundation of your comic, just put your characters on the page inside the panels and then put that page to the side after you finish with your pencils...

Step 5 : Repeat "Step 4" until you start to get annoyed, usually about 4 pages in...

Step 6 : Ink all of those Pencilled pages you just drew, that way your pages aren't just sloppy pencils anymore...

Step 7 : After inking all the pages, time to scan them into your computer.

Step 8 : Clean up the pages by adjusting contrast and brightness until all that's left is the inked lines... do this for all your inked pages...

Step 9 : Add Black boxes where your panels should be and add colour or tone... do this for all your pages...

Step 10 : Add Text and word balloons... do this for all your pages...

Step 11 : Hot Damn I can't believe you made it this far... Shrink your pages to the correct size that you want for the internet... do this for all your pages and save them to a folder you have easy access to...

Step 12 : You've successfully created a backlog... now waste as much time until it runs out so you can go back to "Step 1" and repeat the whole thing...

Yeah, like the title says, rebuilding the backlog is a bitch cause it's teh weekend, and that means the first two pages I draw are already gone for Friday and Monday... well, Friday is already up now... I know I'm early this time around.. yay me...

anyhow, so I have up to page 111 inked, which means I'm good til next Friday... so hopefully this week I can write pages 112 to 120 and then rough sketch the pages as per the pic I posted.. .I usually have more fun rough sketching the comic than I do drawing it... maybe it's cause I'm essentially drawing it twice... meh... it doesn't matter, it makes it easier to draw the final cause I have an idea what I should be pencilling prior...

I'm surprised how productive today was... three pages drawn and inked hopefully I'll keep up this level during the weekend... anyhow, I'm gonna get going and relax... tomorrow will hopefully be a better day... Til then...

well, it's that time again... time to rebuild the buffer... so if I update a day late, it's cause I'm actually drawing, inking and getting the comic page ready... cause let's face it, I suck when it comes to buffering... but I'm trying... regardless... I know that only a couple people are watching this account.. and I apologize for the lack of content... but hopefuly in the the coming months as things progress and hopefully progress better... I'll be apt to make this account .. I guess.. better too?

anyhow, just figured I'd update this acct while I had the chance before I head off and shovel snow... oh how I hate snow... white fluffy death... that's what it is...

well, JAWC is coming along nicely, the site is up and running, been keeping diligent on the updates, and am a couple pages ahead in backlog... so things are going well...

I don't really know where I'm going with JAWC, I just know that it's been a fun ride so far, and one day I plan on ending it... I don't know when, but when I do, I know that it'll end well... maybe open ended enough that if I ever wanted to, I could restart it again... only place it in the future several years... but that'd be cheesy wouldn't it... sorta like an anime that just didn't need to be revived... take slayers for example... after slayers and slayers next... did we really need a slayers try? and about several different movies and OVA's... ugh...

Regardless.... I don't know where I'm going, but I'll find my way, I'm taking my time but I don't know where... hopefully it'll be somewhere good...

allright, things are going smoothly but not as efficiently... so there may be delays in the opening of the site, hopefully I can get things ready regardless in time for January 4th... that's the day everything turns into the new look...

I mean, i got rid of the frames and am trying to make the side bar html work, but I don't know enough to be savvy about it, so I'm muddling along the best I can.. so here's to hoping... regardless.. still working on inking and colouring the profile images, I have an idea to make the profile pages work... gonna seperate them into two pages so that I can manage things a bit better... hopefully...

also implementing PNG's into my webpage, hoping to alleviate the Kb usage that way plus make good looking transparency images... so yeah... that's all I got about the site... hmm...

let's see... oh yeah, Merry Christmas to everyone... I hope everyone is enjoying themselves and that everyone has a happy new year... also, don't drink... I'd say don't drink and drive, but I'm not an advocate of drinking and to say the latter part would be condoning the ability to imbibe... so stay clear and drink some soda... remeber the time you don't drink may just save the life of someone trying to get home to their loved ones...

The new site is shaping up nicely, things are going smoothly and I just wanna say sorry to anyone who's looking at the site going, "why isn't he updating?" and the answer is simple, a lot of stuff happened recently between my mother in the hospital and lack of personal fundage... things slow down and then sometimes crawl and eventually stop... I know it's a crappy reason, but it's the truth and it sucks..

so disregarding the things happening in my life, just wanna say thanks for watching everyone and I hope that there'll be more updates in the future... cause the new year is coming up and I need to put the nose to the grindstone cause I want to keep the comic going... sorry for the delays and thank you for your patience...

I remember starting JAWC (Just Another Web Comic) way back in 2005... it was a scheme to get money to go to AnthroCon that year.. unfortunately that idea tanked... I mean.. it failed brilliantly... and since the comic didn't gather me any scratch, I scratched that idea and went ahead with drawing the comic regardless...

The problem with that however, is that I didn't have a script.. I didn't have a clue.. I didn't plan, I didn't do anything other than draw a page every week and let my whims take the plot wherever... and that... worked for a little while, but then it waned and slowly got worse and worse and then I got stuck... and that's when Volume 1 finally ended... it ended with a crazy idea that things were going too slowly and so I quickened the ending...

seriously, I wanted Volume 1 to last another 20 pages easily... just so I could've made the eryl/donovan scenes more interesting and the reasoning behind eryl's madness more apparent... but luckily I decided to continue onward into Volume 2... and now that I have a goal in mind and a script in place.. I can actually take the time to delve into the problem deeper...

I mean, I have it set up in days of the week, but thursday arc is almost done and Eryl will be taking up most of Friday and Saturday as well as the epilogue... meanwhile the comedic elements will be based around Brandon and John's double date with Miranda and Angelina... I still have to write out the script for Friday....

I mean I have the rest of Thursday written out and it ends on page 98... I already have drawn up to page 91... so 7 more pages and I'm golden for the end of this arc... and then I have to worry about Friday... which I'm sure I can script before I run out of buffer... so here's to hopin'...

Anyhow... I've posted some panels from the past until now in my gallery... so look and enjoy, hopefully I can share more info and art from JAWC and other TMG projects in the future... til then...

Moving on tho'... JAWC is already passed it's halfway mark for Volume 2, which means that I've already started on the outline draft for Volume 3... which should be a lot cooler... however that's way into the future... Volume two is winding down and only Friday and Saturday are left to plan draw and post... so if all goes well, I should be done with Volume 2 somewhere around comic 160, give or take 20 comics... regardless... things are going smoothly...

If anyone has questions about the strip or anything like that, just let me know, I'll try to answer them all...
