Art has come to somewhat of a halt as I type this my laptop is a very expensive paperweight because I effed up while trying to reinstall a new copy of windows over the factory pre-installed bs version already on the compy.

Whoops.

Hopefully I figure out how to fix it soon.

First off, I have been fairly productive lately in producing art. I just haven't found a good way to get finished graphite drawings online in a way that shows them off well.. that leads me to the first item on my to-do list.

The list:
Find a method of displaying traditional graphite drawings online
Get all the backlog of art displayed in gallery
Finish Takami's woods voyeurism commission
Start Takami's pin-up smut commission
Draw blueprints for my snake/gecko rack
Clear laptop and backup files, install win7 fresh

My first P.Picta of the year are hatching, exciting times.
I am getting my pair of axanthic, blue, green iguanas this weekend.
All my leopards are still growing out, nothing exciting there really except they are all being butts.
Gargoyle geckos, much the same.
I'd like to get a rack built but we'll see how that goes.

Other then that it's business as usual!

I still haven't recieved word or sign of my conbadge I paid for at FC. I had really hoped I could trust people to deliver on their word, but there you have it.

It's been so busy at work and then at home taking care of the critters that I haven't had much time to spend on artistic endeavors.

There was something I was going to write about and now I can't remember what it was... huh.

So we are back in Nevada after an all too short weekend in San Jose for Furcon.

In short is was amazing. More con and fursuit photos can be seen on my Tumblr, ChicagoTiki.

Getting to meet all sorts of people and see all the different characters was awesome. The number of people there was exhilerating. You could mingle with tso many furs and feel that all sorts of oddities and quirks are accepted.

I was feeling a bit under the weather all weekend with a killer sinus infection that still hasn't fully gone away so it dampened the experience somewhat. I didn't see as many panels as I wanted and we left a bit earlier then planned because of sheer exhaustion and a very early work deadline monday morning.

I commissioned two artists,  rienkarrot and  snowsabre for art of Tiki. Ri'en's artwork was a double of me and  darkrecreation and it is very fluid and interesting to look at. I would highly recomend him for anyone looking for reasonably priced work. I am still waiting on my conbadge from Snowsabre as she had problems meeting her deadlines at the con. Somewhat dissapointing.

In May there is a little furcon in Reno, Nevada we plan to go. Maybe we'll see you there?

I just can't draw MEN. It's a tragedy

San Jose California, January 2013. Was thinking about going, who else is gonna be there?

It was a super busy couple of days. I got really lucky animal wise in finding what I was looking for at the show. I am super broke now but it was so worth it. Picked up a couple het xanthic Picta babies. A handful of normal reds and stripes, one with odd looking almost eclipse eyes. I am excited about the possibilities of this group I have now. I got to meet Jay Brewer from Prehistoric pets and even got a tour of the backroom and got to see some of his reticulated python breeders and all their babies. It was an exciting, fun-filled weekend but now it's back to the daily grind.

I acquired a few geckos as well as a love for body boarding while I was in San Diego, I can't wait to go again.

I only have a few characters that are recognizable and are repeated more then once. One if the rat terrier, Ella. Another is an emerald swift, female, but with colors based off the male of the species. The lizard itself is difficult to draw having lots of "sharp" edges. But I enjoy the challenge.
At this point most of what I draw is representative of certain moods or feelings more then specific "characters".

I also needed a reason to bump that last journal off the front of my page and I have been sketching various designs of this swift while at work.

I will post a little teaser of her in a bit. I don't feel she is developed enough to really be fully revealed yet.

I started my new job at the pet store this week, 40 hours a week. I'd work more but then they'd have to pay me overtime and be displeased. The money should be rolling in soon and I'll be able to get a digital art program, painttoolSAI. That means more art soon, yaaay!

I got one! Has my animal info, pics, and stuff on it. Good times.

The shitstorm is raging.

Everywhere I go

One day. Trade bodies with a man. How awesome would that be?

I would wreck his nether regions. Banana peels, pies, hands, holes in walls.

What would you do if you could switch bodies with the other gender for a day???

Here is a rundown of the crap I have on my plate.

No money left in savings
No vehicle
No job
Boyfriend
Credit card debt
Phone bill

My credit card is due in two days and I have no money to pay it. For the first time in my life. I am going to have to call the bank Monday and see if they can freeze my payments or something.

My boyfriend paid for a few months of credit card bills but is pretty much reaching the end of his generosity.

And I have no more booze.

Well, fuck me.

If anyone wants a single character piece I am offering them for $10. Lineart, maybe flat colors if I have spare time. Same style as I have been posting recently.

Has anyone else ever had a dream where you realize you were dreaming? A lucid dream?

The dream started out fairly normal for me. I was in a reptile show trying to decide between buying the cup of "fen frogs" and the "tangerine" cornsnake which had sterile females called queens.

I somehow moved from the herp show to a banquet hall type rom with one long table and a group of people sitting at one end.

I realized I was dreaming.

I was like "oh cool what can I do with this opportunity" So I stripped down naked and went running out of the room only to find the scene had changed.

Well crap.

I was in some sort of administration building and people in white coats were chasing me.

Uh oh.

I got cornered in a room with two doors, the door to the outside required a numbered code, and a therapist.

Great.

I realize I'm dreaming and my subconsious decides I need therapy.

As some of you may know I am currently unemployed and low/out of cash. I have a question to ask of you other atarving artists out there. Who has donated plasma before? Can anyone tell me about the experience/money gained? I have heard about it but don't know too much and was considering trying to get a little bit of money.

Sketching naked people. Non-artistic people may think those artists are nuts, but sketching nude models is really important for an artist. Sketching the human body is so complex yet familiar, every mistake is visible in a nude drawing.

I am currently working on a few different things that are in various stages of completion but nothing worth showing yet. For one, I am practicing a different, "more cartoony" style on a few drawings. Complete with those big cute eyes. I am also pondering how best to finish my bluejay piece. As well as working on developing a snow leopard character for a friend of mine. And last but not least I am working on a somewhat fantasy reef scene swarming with fish, eels, and corals. Busy busy busy my friends.
