Any forgotten / retired mascots or costume characters that you used to see but don't anymore?

I have an idea for a thing I want to do next year and it involves a 50's furry gang.
Not a motorcycle gang but a leather jacket clad greaser gang from the 50's. Like the T Birds from "Grease".
What would some good names be ?

REBELS WITH PAWS
REBELS WITHOUT CLAWS
THE VON ZIPPERS ( fursuits have zippers and Eric Von Zipper was the leader of the biker gang in all those Frankie and Annette beach movies from the 60's)

Hello all 3,000 of you and thanks for watching me.
I really do enjoy creating all the videos and photos and sharing them here on FA.
FA will always be my #1 place to post my works.
FA has had a lot of problems lately but I still think it is great.
I didn't read much into this but I think there was some security issue recently but so what?
I go to publix supermarket every week and if I read in the paper someone's car got broke into at publix, I WOULD STILL GO TO PUBLIX.
When it got sold to IMVU , who cares? Lots of businesses get sold. If I went to a good restaurant for 10 years and one day it said "under new management" I would still go in there and eat there.
As far as the ads, well ads are a way of life. If I was driving to Pittsburgh and I saw a billboard on I77 that wasn't there last year, I WOULD STILL GO TO PITTSBURGH.
And what are my other options?
Twitter? NOOOOOO WAY. (That is another story)
All these other furry sites....seems like there is a new one every 6 months... will they be around in a year or 2? I don't need to post my stuff to 6 different sites. I don't need another password in my life. I like to keep it simple.

I tried to upload "The Detention Club" to youtube but it is BLOCKED WORLDWIDE for copyrighted content.
In particular, the 3 minute clip where Brian (Emilio Estevez) explains why he got detention.

I tried an old trick...I re edited the video and made that clip mirror image, so youtube couldn't identify it.
I uplaoded it to my alternate account just as a test and it worked!
I then uploaded it to my main furry account and..... BLOCKED WORLDWIDE!

So I this morning I filed a dispute claiming "fair use" as it is a remix or a mash up much like the donald duck cartoon seen here:

And 3 hours later my claim was DENIED!

I think youtube is just being pricks here. I understand about copyrighted material but really now.
Did someone at youtube call Universal Pictures in Hollywood at 9 am on a Saturday and say,

"Hi, this is YouTube. Some furry in Florida wants to put 3 minutes of your 30 year old movie in his video. Are you OK with that? NO? Ok we will tell him you said no! OK thanks , bye!"

I might try this mirror image trick again at a later date. Or I might do part 1 and part 2 . Split the scene right down the middle.

I also re-uploaded my MFF 2013 con report video but the audio was muted because I used "Sweet Home Chicago" from The Blues Brothers (also a Universal picture) This will be an easy fix, I just need to replace the music.
I guess Universal is real protective of their movies and songs.

Gosh, I wonder how they will react when they find out I am making a Woody Woodpecker fursuit. :)

I didn't do anything crazy this time, just had a fun furry time!
This was my 10th AC. I didnt get into the theme too much. I did bring Greifer out one more time since I had a gangster outfit for him from FCN's prohibition theme (2009?) Greifer v 2 is in the works.
Did my usual 2500 mile road trip, picked up a trunk lid for my 69 mercury in Ohio. Also some factory wheels for my 66 toronado from a junkyard in PA.
And beer (pic soon) and soft pretzels and a whole case of retro / unusual soda pop.
I roomed with  schecter and his friends Fallout and Mercy.

Got to meet  Zarafa Giraffe. The story of his fursuit being stolen and being found was quite amazing and inspiring. And Mars  TheFandox . Great artist who has done some room signs for me .
Favorite moments were a surprise meet and greet with Max for  Dudley317 and trying to do a piano/fursuit sing along to "Rock Lobster" with  Rhubarbthebear and  Cosmik on Sunday Night.

I say it everytime...Thank you everyone who puts AC together and makes it run smoothly, and to YOU ...the 7,000 plus furries who travel thousands of miles to turn Pittsburgh into a real life Zootopia, a real life Toontown. A place I used to see only in my dreams.

Gonna save money ,,, and I got projects to work on , so my next con is,,,, AC 2017 ! in 51 weeks !

After reading about the theft of  zarafa http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/7356408/
and the amazing story behind his return, I thought I would share some ideas on how to prevent something like this happening to others.

I followed all the rules: I parked on a busy street, in a well-lit place. I left nothing in the car, and everything was put in the trunk. It is POSSIBLE that someone saw me put my fursuit bin in the trunk. But I have no idea for sure. A fursuit bin, to someone outside the fandom, looks like it might contain some valuable electronic equipment or other such easily sold items. It is my strong belief that the thief had no idea he was taking a fursuit,

We are always told to put valuables in the trunk, out of sight. I think in this case it might have been better to leave it in plain view.
Maybe put it in a laundry basket in the back seat with some socks and underwear and laundry detergent. A thief might think it is just a fuzzy blanket.

I keep my fursuit in plastic storage bins, as many of you do. I think I will put labels on them of things NO THIEF would steal.
"VHS TAPES" "XMAS DECORATIONS" "OLD ENCYCLOPEDIAS"

Also, I think I will have some garment labels made and put them in all my heads, paws, and bodies. In case something gets stolen, and winds up at good will or somewhere 6 months later. Or even if the airline loses it.
I have read stories of cars that get stolen, and then are recovered DECADES later.

Any other ideas you would like to share?

Well, I am not doing this fox theatre tour at FWA. Only one person seemed really interested, and now they are not going, and the only time I could do it is Sat morn. But I don't wanna do it during the new fursuit mingle thing. Oh well.

What is a MEWIE PET?
It was my nickname for Torg. I have no idea what it means.
In order to be a mewie pet, you must be ALL of the following.

1. Yerman.
2. a Yepherd
3. Live on Cameron Rd

Torg died one year ago today on Mar 18 2015 so I declare that today is MEWIE PET DAY!
And on this day , ANY Yerman Yepherd can be a mewie pet.

So wish your favorite Yerman Yepherd a Happy mewie pet day !

But FWA has not posted their schedule yet! Which makes it difficult to plan this thing. Stay tuned to this FA for details. Something needs to happen soon. FWA is just over 3 weeks away !

I am so glad I finally have "Greifer and the Candyman" on youtube.
I first got the idea in 2013 ,
Filmed in 2014,
Showed at cons in 2015.
No more "big" videos for a while. I have other things to focus on.
I really love doing the big videos,,, but they take up so much time.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I think this was the most fursuiters I ever had in one video. And it was really fun directing them and doing choreography too!
