MWFF Meme!
Posted 10 years agoYuuuuuuup once again, I'll be attending Midwest Furfest and I super duper cannot wait for all the fun this year! :D
Where are you staying?
The main Hyatt hotel!
What day are you getting there/how long are you staying?
Will be arriving Thursday at about 4:30 PM, heading off Monday evening~!
Who will you be rooming with?

Who will you hang out with during the convention?
My bestest toony buddies, some fellow drinkydogs, some staff members who are friends of mine, LOTSA FOLKS! The people I wanna spend time with know who they are <3
How can I find you?
Look for the bearded caveman dressed from head to toe in black and you've probably found me. On Sunday, look for the bearded caveman wearing a Clay Matthews jersey~ (GO PACKERS!) And you can check my twitter account @ TimberPuppers too, I'll be tweeting about con stuff probably!
Are there any panels you might be attending?
Honestly, probably not! There's so much to do and so many people to see, I doubt I'll squeeze any panels in. I will try to peek in on the dance comp, though!
Are you attending any stage or public performances?
I might be busting out some of my voices and/or imitations impromptu if people ask, but nothing official!
Will you be suiting?
Possibly! Don't got a suit of my own, but may try to borrow a friend's for a fuzzy romp~
Do you draw?
I may be doodling a bit~
How old are you?
28
How tall are you?
About 5'11"
Can I talk to you?
Well sure, if you wanna say hi or chat real quick, I'm down!
Can I visit your room?
Only if you're invited!
Can I buy you drinks?
If you really wanna, I won't say no~
Can I hug or snuggle with you?
Snuggles will be offered only to those I truly cherish~ A quick, friendly hug from most other folks is just fine. :3
Are you nice?
I try to be as friendly as I can be!
If I see you, how should I get your attention?
Call my name! Timber, Puppers, Timberpuppers, Puppertimbers, whatever seems most fitting! But if I'm in the middle of a conversation, please don't interrupt~
Where will you be most of the time during the days?
In the main hotel, running around, hanging out with folks, lotsa stuff! SO MUCH TO DO AT THIS CON! :D
What/where will you be eating?
There's a food court at the mall that has some vegan food, that'll be my ticket~ :9
Can I come with you for food/fun etc?
Only if you're invited~ Don't take it personally if I don't invite everybody along, it's my toony family I wanna spend most of my time with!
Can I take your picture?
Sure, why not?
What’s your goal(s) for the con this year?
HAVE THE BEST GADDAMN TIME I POSSIBLY CAN! Perform my imitation of "Wakko's America" for a small crowd. Drink more great Chicago beer! ...And not to get horribly hungover again.

[Undertale + Voice Acting!]
Posted 10 years agoI recently played Undertale and loved it so much, I decided I wanted to try dubbing as many scenes from the game as possible with my own voice! Who knows if I'll get to the very end of the game, but I'd sure like to try!
So far the series can be found on my new youtube channel! Thus far I've done voice acting for Flowey, Sans, and Papyrus multiple times! I plan to complete many more of these videos, so if you like what I've got so far, subscribe and keep an eye open! :D

MWFF recap! (Hint hint: Best weekend EVER)
Posted 11 years agoMy GOODNESS what a weekend! First thing when I land in Chicago, I'm greeted warmly with hugs from tons of my friends, and the weekend only got better from there!
The weekend was not without its struggles. I battled alcohol hangovers, greasy Chinese food hangovers, sleep deprivation, slim pickings for food options, chlorine gas attacks, blisters on my feet, sudden onset of con crud, and some lingering shyness - and overcame all of these obstacles to have one of, if not the best weekend of my life!
What all happened that was great, you ask?
Weeeeeell, first and foremost~
- Seeing my beloved toony family in person! Not long ago, these wonderful critters welcomed me into their fold with open arms, and it was truly incredible to create happy memories with them in person during a weekend we'll all treasure forever! Sound sappy? I DUN CARE, it's the whole darn TRUTH and nothin' but the TRUTH! They all know who they are AND I LOVE THEM <3
And then all this other neat stuff happened!
- Hearing all my friends laugh every time I'd throw out a silly imitation.
- Shared some great Oregon beer with my friends!
- Group skyping with friends who couldn't make it, just to let them know we were thinking about them!
- Pieing a certain duck in the face after calling him a nerd in the Roger Klotz voice (<3)
- Blasting death metal and hardcore punk with two pals of like-minded tastes.
- Watching in awe as my super talented friends churned out amazing sketch after amazing sketch! It was inspirational to see them work in person!
- Seeing all my friends in suit! Their performances in suit were charming, energetic, and all too adorable!
- FURSUIT HUGS! Yup, can never resist 'em.
- A little cuddly private time with a dear friend.
- Meeting tons and tons of wonderful people for the first time, whom I'd love to forge stronger friendships with!
- Meeting old friends and re-connecting with them, strengthening bonds we already shared~
This con reminded me just how greatly my life has improved ever since I returned to the fandom two years ago, and motivated me to keep working on my end to make my life even better! I'll keep working hard on my passions! I'll become a better voice actor, I'll cultivate my interest in visual art, I'll keep dabbling with music, and I'll work to become a better and more positive person! And hopefully, I'll make lots and lots of fuzzy folks smile and laugh along the way.
PHEW! That was a whoooole lotta stream-of-consciousness-thought-vomit.
I can't wait for Midwest Furfest 2015~ :D

I hear many great things about this convention, and I'm truly waggy and excited over the prospect of attending it!

Same Sex Marriage in Oregon!
Posted 11 years agoToday, a Federal Judge has ruled that Oregon's ban on same-sex marriage is unconstitutional. As of this ruling, which occurred Monday, May 19th, 2014, at 12:00 PM Pacific Time, same sex couples in the state of Oregon are free to marry.
I remember how disappointed I was when, ten years ago, a ballot measure to ban same sex marriage in Oregon was approved by Oregon voters by a hefty margin. In the ten years since then, a lot has changed. LGBT rights have taken off in the previous six years; state after state, country after country, marriage rights were recognized between same sex couples. A US President endorsed us; even included us in his second election speech. We've been made to feel more and more at home throughout the United States; and now the state where I have spent the grand majority of my life, and the state I have called home for many years, has embraced us as well. Gay and lesbian residents in this state have been approved to wed each other, despite attempted legal trickery and sabotage by NOM (National Organization for Marriage).
To NOM, I can only say: You are losers. You are losers because you continuously attempt to infringe upon the happiness of others, only because you are bigoted, mean-spirited, and quite frankly, morally bankrupt, yet you stand upon platforms of righteousness and values. Well, your so-called "values" are not American values anymore. The country is changing; you are not. For that, I pity you. For all you've done to bully us, demean us, and take away our happiness, we have once more beaten you. Perhaps one day you will learn from your errors, and evolve as human beings. I sincerely hope this day happens, sooner than later; I think you'll be much happier as people when you can leave your hatred behind. I have genuine hopes for you.
For now, my fellow LGBTs, my fellow Oregonians, and my fellow Americans, let's celebrate this historic day! Our fight for equality is far from over, but today, we have earned another victory! Wag all day, and spread the good vibes~! :3

Supreme League of Patriots - Upcoming indie game! & More
Posted 11 years agoHiya, fuzzies~
A new indie game entitled Supreme League of Patriots is coming this July for Mac, PC, Linux, and iPad. We're also trying to get the game approved for Steam via Steam Greenlight!
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfil...../?id=221601693
Supreme League of Patriots is an adventure/comedy game in the same vein as the old Lucasarts and Sierra games from the 90's, with plenty of political satire to boot! I voice the protagonist, The Purple Patriot. He's loud, obnoxious, dimwitted, sexist, racist, homophobic, grotesquely right-wing, and, as a recent press release described him, "a bit of a dick." Here's the game's synopsis from the Steam Greenlight campaign:
No Bull Intentions invites you to point, click and puzzle your way through a comic journey into the jingoistic heart of American super culture.
Superheroes are the shining beacons of humanity. They exist to guide us, to show us the way forward. Kind of like the übermensch. But definitely the fun, non-Nazi übermensch. Because superheroes are there to protect the young and the weak and the good and to defend the gender normatives values of society. And also kittens. Think of the kittens. Stuck in nasty trees.
All of which neatly demonstrates that they’re definitely not fascists.
Enter Kyle Keever, a mild-mannered aspiring actor who auditions for hit new reality show ‘America’s Got Superpowers’ and gets a little too into his alter-ego: a strong, brave, handsome, Arian man the people call the Purple Patriot. Although defending Freedom, Equality and other capital nouns is his daily grind, the Purple Patriot’s favourite cause is stamping out the evils polluting his beloved New York. But when you’re a champion of justice with a supreme moral compass, those evils often resemble your personal pet peeves. Like hippies. And immigrants. And anyone a few Hooters short of heterosexual.
Still. Who’s going to argue with a superhero?
Sound like fun?
The game is currently up for voting on Steam Greenlight! You can find a full synopsis and list of features, screenshots, a preview trailer and an extended gameplay trailer, where you can hear my voice in action on the Purple Patriot!
If you'd care to vote, myself, the rest of the cast and crew, as well as the producer (who's really a super nice guy), would all really appreciate it! <3

Would ya like my voice? $5 per each minute of audio!
Posted 11 years agoHiya, fuzzies!
As some of you know, I do freelance voiceover for a living. One of my sources of income is a gig I do on Fiverr, a website for freelancers to do work for just $5! My gig is that I will record a minute of voiceover per each $5 I'm given, in 24 hours or less. And now I'm opening that up to the fandom!
Need an intro for a furry radio station? Maybe an announcer for a recorded con recap? Maybe even a short clip for a character voice? Whatever you need, I can do!
Here are my demo reels for reference:
Commercial: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/13008345/
Character: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/11304800/
Imitations: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/12083951/
And here is a link to my Fiverr page! http://www.fiverr.com/zach_holzman/.....lity-voiceover
Please note that I will not record for anything explicitly adult in nature. If you have questions, please ask!

14 albums I can't live without!
Posted 12 years agoStealing this from
'cause I thought it'd be fun to talk about some musics I love! Here ya go~
1. Agalloch – The Mantle
Although this list is in no particular order, this is my #1 album, period. This album was one of the first albums to really pull me into the realm of metal. I discovered this record 10 years ago at age 16, and it's been my favorite all-time album ever since. A bleak, wintery mix of black metal, neo-folk, and post-rock, with lyrics that can truly be described as poetic. John Haughm's songwriting flows smoothly throughout, with equal parts introspection and grandiosity. Don Anderson's guitar work is inspired, with some remarkable leads paying the perfect compliment to many of the folky melodies. Moreover, the band executes this with such heart and passion, that it's impossible not to get swept away into the transcendent music, that evokes mental imagery of traversing the remote peaks of the Cascade mountain range, or deep within the rainforest of the Pacific Northwest. A truly incredible album that will be with me throughout my entire life.
2. Katatonia – Brave Murder Day
Another old favorite – still my pick for the darkest metal album of all time. The gloom is overpowering, and the the atmosphere is razor sharp. Taking elements from doom metal, death metal, and black metal, the record employs a suffocatingly thick layer of guitar noise. For those who are partial towards the bleaker side of the musical spectrum, this album is a must. Katatonia's been a great band for a long time, but this is their crowning achievement.
3. Elend – Winds Devouring Men
This album is a mix of gothic, neoclassical, darkwave, ambient, industrial, and everything inbetween. From the yearning strings of “Worn Out with Dreams” to the chaotic noise of the title track, to the haunted dulcimer of “Newborn Sailor”, the soundscapes are emotionally provocative and intelligently composed. A full orchestra was employed for this record, but it is used tastefully; there are no grand orchestral swells, but rather a focus on creating an introspective mood. Beautiful and bleak; some of the very best gothic music I've ever heard!
4. Drudkh – Blood in our Wells
The peak of atmospheric black metal, this album is cinematic and constantly euphoric, with some riffs escalating to remarkable levels of beauty. Makes me feel as if I'm wandering through a vast Eastern European forest, with sunlight streaming in through the canopies. Black metal doesn't have to be menacing and hateful; it can be as beautiful as it is on Blood in Our Wells.
5. Strapping Young Lad - City
Beauty in anger, structure in chaos, clarity through a wall of sound. Devin Townsend's madness is unleashed in full force on this industrial-tinged masterpiece, but there's a constant catharsis throughout, which culminates in the final moments of Spirituality. Heavy and noisy as can be, but constantly engaging.
6. Godflesh - Streetcleaner
This is another industrial-tinged masterpiece, yet this one is -gnarly-. The bass is pummeling and heavy, and the sonic textures are dirty and grimy. Makes me think of a post-apocalyptic wasteland where the last remnants of mankind are being systematically hunted and slaughtered by half man, half machine monstrosities. Neat! “Flesh crumbles, in the real world.”
7. The Cure – Faith
Although many point to Disintegration as their favorite Cure record (a very close second for me), I have to go with Faith. Blending gothic rock and post-punk, with spacy drums, sparse guitars, and Robert Smith's oddly distant vocals dominating the mix, this record is absolutely depressive, with not a single happy note to be found anywhere within. From the grave “Funeral Party”, the haunted “Drowning Man”, and the hopeless album closer, this is a record for those who love a little doom and gloom in their music~
8. Swans – The Great Annihilator
Every Swans album is a unique experience in its own right, but of their whole discography, this one has stuck with me the most. Experimental music meets noise rock meets darkwave meets post-punk meets...? Swan's music is hard to pinpoint, which is precisely why it's so fascinating. There are many songs encompassing many moods on this album, and all are equally fascinating to listen to. Michael Gira remains one of the most interesting front men in music to this day.
9. Fields of the Nephilim – Elizium
Blending gothic rock with psychedelics, this album is a true treat for the ears. Trance inducing and vibrant, with varied songwriting and plenty of energy. The real highlight of the album is the two part closer; rather than ending the album with a swell of energy, Elizium ends with the gently drifting bass and psychedelic leads of Wail of Sumer and There My Heart Will Be Also, which combine to form fourteen minutes of truly breathtaking music.
10. dISEMBOWELMENT – Transcendence into the Peripheral
As far as I'm concerned, this is the heaviest album ever made. I do not say this lightly; listen to just a few minutes of Burial at Ornans and see for yourself! Blending the harshest elements of doom metal, death metal, and grindcore, this is a brutally ugly album. There are otherwordly ethereal leads present as well, which only contribute to the gut-churning atmosphere. With a cavernous production, crushing guitar distortion, and obscure lyrics, this beast is not for the feint of heart.
11. Celtic Frost – Monotheist
Perfect album from start to finish. Celtic Frost don't make a single misstep throughout this masterfully composed slab of heavy, dirty, gothic metal. Celtic Frost's musical career is notoriously whacky, with multiple breakups, and a discography that includes a masterpiece of extreme metal and then a universally recognized clunker in the form of a dreadful glam mashup. However, they ended their career on a high note with this jewel of a record.
12. Lurker of Chalic – S/T
This record pushes the boundaries of what black metal is capable of. The album's atmosphere is as esoteric and arcane as you can get, with mystifying guitar distortion and an overall unusual structure. There are so many subtle details in the mix of the album, and it's always a pleasure for the ears. I like listening to this one in a dark room and seeing where it takes me~
13. Tenhi – Saivo
Neo-folk with a cinematic flare, evocative melodies, and a pensive atmosphere. Each song seems to be telling part of a larger story, even the instrumental tracks. The story culminates with the transcendent closing track, which is one of the finest pieces of music I've heard in my lifetime. These gentlemen from Finland have a great discography under their belts, but this one's my favorite~
14. Judas Priest – Painkiller
Judas fuckin' Priest. Rob fuckin' Halford. It was impossible for me to choose between Screaming for Vengeance and Painkiller, but I had to go with Painkiller for this reason alone; it was the grand declaration that heavy metal was still alive and well. In 1990, By that year, Judas Priest had just released two subpar albums, Iron Maiden released a subpar album, Sabbath's heyday was well in the past, as was Dio's. Along comes Judas Priest, with a commanding roar of heavy metal authority in the form of Painkiller. Not a weak track to be found, and in my opinion, the title track is possibly the all-time greatest heavy metal track. Always a good time~
Aaaaaand sneaking in #15 for good measure 'cause I can't leave this last one out!
15. Black Sabbath - Sabotage
Sabbath's most under appreciated record! I never understood why this doesn't get more love, with the catchy hooks in Hole in the Sky, Megalomania, Symptom of the Universe, and Am I Going Insane. The whole album has an off-kilter feel to it, as if Osbourne and co. were losing their minds as they were creating it. But apparently they were having a jolly good time going utterly bonkers, as this is a delightful record. My favorite of Sabbath's first six classics~
Well those are mine, what are some of the albums that you can't live without?
'cause I thought it'd be fun to talk about some musics I love! Here ya go~1.
Stick it to the Man! - Now on Steam!
Posted 12 years agoI've been blabbing about this new indie game that I did some voiceover work in, called Stick it to the Man! And if you'll allow me to, I'd like to blab about it juuuuust a lil' bit more. :3
Stick it to the Man is a whacky, outlandish puzzle/platformer/adventure game with a quirky art style and bizarre, but comedic characters, with hilarious dialogue penned by Ryan North (Adventure Time comics, Dinosaur Comics, etc.) It has been compared to classic games like Psychonauts and Lucasarts adventure titles of the 90's. Lately it's been getting a lot of positive buzz in the gaming scene, including a 9.5 out of 10 from Destructoid, a 9 out of 10 from Official Playstation Magazine, and an 8.6 out of 10 from IGN! Currently, on Metacritic, the game has a rock solid 80 out of 100 from fourteen different reviews.
The game was originally released only for PS3 and PSvita, but now it can be played on PC via Steam!
http://store.steampowered.com/app/251830/
It's currently 40% off, and can be purchased for $8.99! This deal lasts until the 20th.
Throughout the game, my voice can be heard on a number of NPC characters, like Cap'n Ahab, Santa Claus, a creepy old clown, and more! The rest of the voicework you hear in the game comes from a number of talented friends of mine! The voiceover has been frequently praised in reviews, with one reviewer stating: "The voice acting is also superb, with every last bit of dialogue having been voiced in the game, including thoughts. You can tell a lot of work went into getting the characters just right, and their line delivery almost perfect to create an entertaining game."
So check it out, if you'd like!

Stick it to the man, a new indie game I did voices in!

A brief synopsis of the plot: Hard hat tester; Ray, has a bizarre accident and wakes up with a giant pink spaghetti arm sticking out of his brain! With his awesome new powers he can read minds and change the world with stickers but he's on the run for a crime he didn't commit. Can you help Ray out of this sticky situation?
I recorded voices for several NPC's found throughout the game, including Santa Claus and Captain Ahab (or is it just a crazy man who -thinks- he's Captain Ahab?) A lot of good pals of mine supplied voiceover work as well! The voice acting is often cited as a plus to the game's overall presentation, with one reviewer stating "The voice acting is also superb, with every last bit of dialogue having been voiced in the game, including thoughts. My favorite time of year~ (Horror movies & voiceover stuff)
Posted 12 years agoHullo~
October is one of my favorite months out of the year! Not only does it signal the fall season kicking into high gear, but it being the month of kooks and spooks, I'm always down to watch some horror films, night after night! I always love fielding recommendations, so feel free to post them here! The only type of horror movies I tend to dislike are the 'torture porn' flicks, but everything else is fair game! While you're at it, recommend me some good fall seasonal/pumpkin beers, and I'll see if I can find 'em here in Portland!
Other than that, I've been a busy little voiceover pup! Got quite a few projects I gotta hammer away on throughout the month. I'm still gonna try to find time to tinker with that cartoon imitation reel I wanna make. It'll feature my imitations of Red Guy, Wakko, Bev Bighead, Dexter's Dad, and others. I'll be posting the audio here on FA!
That about does it~ *Wagwag*
