Questions Unanswered: the Shattered Ending
Posted 5 years agoChapter 2: I blame myself
Yetshi @McTaylis, Carl, Kelsey and Bon-Bon made their way back to the space station they called home, the owner’s SoulGem, a few shards and four broken hearts in hand. The station was huge and chrome in color, it was in the shape of a star with all five hands forming at the center to form a point. As Yetshi landed his Sun cutter he noticed Randon was walking into the landing docks, he assumed he saw the ship coming on the radar in the planetarium. As he opened the door to let everyone out, Randon asked “Did everything go okay, where’s Sebastian?”
“Th-the mission was a failure,” Yetshi said, trying to hold back the large tears that were forming in his eyes.
“What’s wrong, what happened?” Randon asked
Yetshi pulled something out his pocket, it was small and shiny and orange, lime green and baby blue in color. As he examined the object, Carl and Bon-Bon walked past them, it took him a few seconds to realize what it was. As Randon realized why Sebastian was gone, he felt his heart sink and his irises shrunk in terror. His breathing rate increased and felt his legs weaken. Behind him a group was walking towards the landing docks, one of them was taller then Yetshi, Randon and Kelsey, while the others were the same height or shorter then Yetshi. “Is this a bad time?” asked one of them, Brett Umber24.
“Something came up during the mission…” Kelsey said, failing to hold back tears.
Her friends all braced themselves for what was about to be said, they all had a feeling of what happened but didn’t want to think about the outcome.
“Yetshi, we need to tell the Virtues” Randon said becoming more destressed
Yetshi knew Randon would get in serious trouble even if he wasn’t on the mission, the Godly Virtues would never just ignore the person who assigned the mission. He nodded hesitantly and everyone walked to the library to find Randon’s mother, Jimisha L. Hosana [Goddess of Humility].
As they walked into the brown walled library, they were greeted by a woman with long curly black hair, she even had a curl covering her left eyebrow “Hey, Yetshi. Looking for Jimisha?” she asked in a soft almost whispering voice
“Oui, Elizabeth, is she in here?” he asked her
“She went to the basketball court, Adam had a game.” she responded back
“Merci.” he said to Elizabeth as the group walked out and to the basketball court.
As they walked down the hall, Yetshi and Kelsey finally told their friends how Sebastian met his end. They stopped walking as they felt their bodies be filled with painful sorrow, some of them couldn’t even try to hold back tears or hide the sadness they felt.
“Please tell me the bastard paid for this…” Their tallest friend, Kevin A. @Demron1992, asked with sadness and anger in his voice. He was wearing a white button up lab coat with his muscular chest showing a little and black shorts. He never liked wearing shoes so he always walked around barefoot.
“I’m leaving that up to the Godly Virtues to decide…” Yetshi answered, wiping the tears off his cheeks.
They went back to walking and made it to the basketball court. When they entered, they saw Adam and a bunch of kids, around his age, running up and down the court and posters made and signed by Yash aligning the walls as the faded yellow lights shined on them. As they looked around, they saw Jimisha sitting on the bleachers to their left, she was wearing a green fairy-like dress; it had huge straps that resembled wings that stood on their own and a ruffled glittering material that made up the lower end of the skirt. “Hi honey” she said to her son, Randon “Is everything okay”
“Th-there’s been a death… And I think its my fault” he responded hesitantly
“What happened?!” she asked becoming frightened
“I’ll tell you once the meeting starts.” Yetshi said to his superior
Jimisha stood up and walked out of the courtroom and the others walked out with her and down the hall. Along the way, Yetshi informed his friends that it would be better if they went to the science lab to recompse themselves. They complied with their friend's suggestion and went there. Jimisha, Randon and Yetshi stopped in front of a large platinum door with gold details all over it, it also had a small screen tablet to the left of it. Jimisha typed in a code that seemed nonsensical to Randon and alerted her siblings and cousins that an urgent meeting is about to take place, and the three of them walked through the door. Inside was a huge judge-like courtroom, it was big enough to fit Jimisha’s 10 commandments and had a tone of empty seats. Randon thought it was bigger than his baseball field and pool room combined.
Just then, 13 doors opened. Tall men and women, similar or taller then Jimisha, walked inside. None of them wore similar clothes, they each had on greek-like robes and gowns or wore suits and dresses “Jimi you called us all here, what’s wrong?” asked her oldest cousin, Massacre Lucifer [God of Wrath]. He was much taller then Jimisha, he had long curled horns that stuck out of the top of his head and bull-like legs. His thighs were covered in a misty darkness that allowed others to see right through him.
“One of my Star soldiers have fell” She said to him
One of her younger sisters, Mickayla G. Hosana [Goddess of Purity] covered her mouth with great shock while one of her little brothers, Ashford G. Hosana [God of Diligence] looked down, with a sorrow expression on his face. “What happened, was it an accident?” asked another one of Jimisha’s cousins, Cynthia S. Lucifer [Goddess of Sloth]
Yetshi stood forward to tell them all what happened. He spared no details and explained that even though Randon sent them, he should not be punished for this. “Randon,” said one of Randon’s uncles, Bacchus Lucifer [God of Gluttony] “Thank you for telling someone, but you know better. You should have told your mom”
“I know.” he said in return “I’m already beating myself up for this…”
Yetshi presented the Gods with the SoulGem of the owner. As they all examined it, none of them recognized the gem, it looked like a cluster with no form and had multiple sharp parts sticking off of it. It shimmered with vibrant colors as the lights in the room hit it. “My friends want to know what you all want to do with him?” said Yetshi as he placed the SoulGem on the table in front of everyone
“What should we do?” asked Mack Hosana [God of Temperance] as he looked at everyone else
Another god, Stoic Lucifer [God of Pride], answered “first thought that came to mind was shatter”
“I feel like that’s too much dear brother” said Mercedes Lucifer [Goddess of Greed] “I do believe this one needs to pay, but death is a little too much”
“I’m in agreement with Mercedes,” said Jimisha’s older sister Vicky Hosana [Goddess of Kindness] “Death is too harsh.”
As everyone continued to think about what to do, Alisha O. Hosana [Goddess of Forgiveness] had the idea to take the Owner under custody as a punishment. “That could work, but can your Commandments handle this?” asked Jimisha
“We’ll handle it, if it doesn’t then we’ll talk about a new punishment” she answered her big sister
“Alright does that settle this?” asked Seamus Lucifer [God of Lust]
Miquain T. Hosana [God of Charity] and Vivian Lucifer [Goddess of Envy] nodded to Seamus, giving him the second notion “Very well: Alisha, you are now under custody of-” Massacre stopped his sentence short and realized the Owner doesn’t have a real name, so without much thought he continued and said “The Magic Kid”
Almost everyone was confused but brushed it off and nodded as the final vote. Alisha picked up the Magic Kid’s SoulGem and everyone left the room by walking through the doors they entered.
Jimisha turned to Yetshi and asked “Yetshi was there anything else out of place on earth?”
“Non madame” he answered
Jimisha, Yetshi and Randon left the room with the lights turning off on their way out. Randon still felt an unhealthy amount of weight on his shoulders. He felt as if he should've been punished more harshly or if he didn’t send Yetshi’s team Sebastian would still be alive. Jimisha continued back to the basketball court for Adam’s game while Yetshi stopped to talk to Randon. “Randon, I know you think you should be in trouble or punished, but this was not your fault.” He said to his student “This was a result of my negligence”
Randon, without saying a word, commended his teacher’s words of encouragement but he still felt like it was his fault. Yetshi knew Randon couldn’t cry, but he still sensed the sorrow feelings he had deep down. Not wanting him to feel more guilty than he already does, Yetshi dismissed Randon and allowed him to go wherever he needed to take his mind off of the meeting. Randon made his way to the planetarium and was, once again, greeted by his friends. Cameron and Sharisa could quickly tell their friend was not happy and knew he didn’t want to talk. Nate, however, didn't much care for his friend's emotion and asked questions regarding the meeting and the mission. “Nate, stop” he asked him with a gloomy expression on his face.
I guess things didn’t go according to plan… Kalaiya thought to herself as Randon sat down at a table opposite to the control panel of the supercomputer in the middle of the room. “Yetshi said things went downhill. That’s all I want to say” Randon said
“Alright then, take it easy for now” Sharisa said, turning off the radar on the computer. “I hope this isn’t a sign for things to come…”
Yetshi @McTaylis, Carl, Kelsey and Bon-Bon made their way back to the space station they called home, the owner’s SoulGem, a few shards and four broken hearts in hand. Questions Unanswered: the Shattered Ending
Posted 5 years agoChapter 1: A sweet Overdose
"Log date, 7/18/50XX: It's been a long time since I've used a log and I couldn't have used this at a better time, I have a few emotions and thoughts that I would like to-" Randon said in his deep man-like voice before he was interrupted by his baby brother Adam who opened his bedroom door.
"Randon, can I use your markers for art class?" Adam asked,
"There over by my bed.” Randon replied “remember to return them once you're done. Guess I'll make a log at another time..."
He stood out of his chair and left the room along with Adam and started down the hall to the Planetarium. While walking down the platinum colored hall Randon saw three kids, who recognized as Adam’s classmates, running around, he assumed they were playing some game. After turning a corner past the rest of the bedrooms, he was given his next art assignment by his art and French teacher, Yash McTaylis. "Hey Randon, this next project is for a book, you just need to redraw the rough sketch I made." Yash said,
"I'll see what I can do Monsieur McTaylis." Randon said back and he continued down the hallway.
Randon entered the Planetarium at the end of the hallway and saw a huge wall arranged in a circle with white stars and seats meant to sit everyone he knew. He saw a large glass dome overhead to see the stars that surrounded his home. Even though he'd been there multiple times, he always liked the way the room looked. Randon lowered his head back down and was greeted by 3 of his closest friends. "Hey Ran-Ran '' said Sharisa Frost, the eldest of his 4 closest friends.
"Sup dude" Cameron Powers said after her, the baby of the group.
"Hey guys" He replied. "I see that someone is trying to scare me again, Bonjour Nate."
Nate dropped from the ceiling above the doors of the Planetarium in frustration but still said hi back. "You never let me have fun…"
"You've been trying for 200 years, you're a little too predictable my dear ami." Randon said. "Where's Kaliya?" He asked.
"She's at the food court," Sharisa replied.
"Hmm… anything out of the ordinary?" Randon asked asked as he climbed the stairs to the stage they were lounging on.
"We found something while scanning Earth" Cameron replied, "Look over there in North America, some pink spot popped up and we can't tell what it is" he pointed to the spot on the screen on the super computer.
"Maybe we should go get the 10 Commandments to go investigate" Nate jokingly suggested.
"I don't think we need them, this IS Earth" Sharisa said back.
"this is still worth looking into" Randon replied as he walked over to the intercon on the other side of the stage. "Yetshi McTaylis, Kelsey S. Kujjles, Sebastian Moonshadow, Carl James and Bon-Bon Thomas, can the five of you please meet me at the Landing docks?"
The five of them stopped what they were doing and immediately ran over to the Landing docks on the other side of the space station compared to the planetarium. Once they're, Randon and Cameron greeted and told them what was going on and showed them their assigned location. "It almost looks like clouds," said Carl.
"Is it cotton candy?!" Bon-Bon asked excitedly.
"I don't think it's cotton candy, Bon-Bon," said Kelsey.
Yetshi replied to Randon and Cameron, "Whatever it is, we'll fix it, let's move!"
"Yes sir!" Sebiastian and Bon-Bon replied as the 5 of them climbed into Yetshi's Suncutter.
It was a lemon yellow colored jet fighter-like spaceship with white trims along the wings and a thick electric blue stripe that went from the front to the back.
It didn't take long for them to arrive on Earth and see what had happened. After getting close to the ground of the planet they realized what Randon and Cameron meant by ‘pink spot’
"Half of North America is candy…?" Carl said in complete confusion.
"I TOLD YOU!" Bon-Bon shouted.
"I know, small child." Kelsey replied.
As Yetshi landed the ship near the entrance of a carnival, Bon-Bon jumped out and immediately ran over to one of the giant cookies she saw on the fly in. She couldn't wait to enjoy the flavor and dug her face into it. She was horribly disappointed to find out the taste was not at all what she was expecting, she pulled her head out, spat it out and scrunched up her face with disgust. "Eeeeeww, it tastes like throw up!" Bon-Bon told Yetshi.
He nearly gagged when he took a nibble off the cookie "This is straight up stomach acid!"
Just then the group was startled by what looked to be a child, almost newborn-like, creature. It was small, its skin was pale as paper, like something that had died a long time ago. It's large eyes and erectus grin made everyone uneasy, the thing zipped around through the air like an animal on a sugar high. "Hi there, you must be new! Are you hungry? Have a lollipop!" It said as it shoved a lollipop in Carl's mouth.
"I'm the owner, something tells me the 5 of you like having fun! You do? Me too, let's go have some!" The owner said as it then flew off.
"What the hell was that thing?" Asked Yetshi.
"I couldn't tell, I didn't see its gemstone on its body" Sebastian replied.
"We have some investigating to do…"
The five of them wandered through the carnival only to find more giant sweets, attractions, toys and games that were ready to be used, every food truck was perfectly fine and had tons of food that could be served, but the entire park was empty. "This place looks okay so… Where is everyone?" Asked Kelsey. "Wasn't North America populated by humans of Earth?"
"Now that you mention it, Kelsey, I haven't seen any animals either…" Yetshi replied.
"These rides look so dead without people here. You don't think that thing did this, do you?" Carl asked cautiously.
Bon-Bon noticed a giant stuffed bunny hanging up by one of the Hit the Target games "Hey look at this." she said before skipping over to it.
"I want that one!" She told them as she pointed to the blue bunny with a red bowtie and white stomach.
As Sebastian reached to grab the stuffed animal, it immediately lunged at him in an attempt to bite off his hand. It cackles the way a psychotic child would. The group screamed in shock until Yetshi reached for the yellow Citrine gemstone in his left shoulder to summon an electric sword. Then, quick as lightning, cut it into two pieces.
"Est-ce que ça va?!" Yetshi asked Sebastian. "I'm fine! That thing was alive too?" "It was going to kill us!" Bon-Bon wind as Carl hugged her.
"If that thing was also alive, are the over one's alive too?" Asked Carl
"I can't tell, my magic can't pick up a life reading on them." Sebastian replied.
"Looks like we'll have to be more cautious moving forward." Kelsey added.
While exploring the carnival even further, Carl became curious about the other foods that were lying around. He took a piece off a giant brownie and bit a small piece off "Snot, that's definitely snot." Carl said as he dropped the rest.
"The ice cream cones don't have a strong flavor, I think I taste bone marrow though." Said Sebastian.
"Is any of the food here edi-" Kelsey stopped her sentence and realized Bon-Bon was eating multicolored cotton candy "Bon-Bon, where did you get that?" "From that candy truck right there." She replied as she pointed to it.
"So the food in the trucks are the real deals." Yetshi said.
"Come to a realization, Lightning King?" Asked Kelsey.
"Yeah, we need to get into that tent," Yetshi answered.
"Works for us." Carl said as they ran over to the tent.
Once there, they found out the doors that lead inside were locked. Yetshi grew his muscles to forcefully open them but to no avail. "I got it!" Bon-Bon said, she reached for the two red Pearls in her cheeks and pulled out two drumsticks made of water.
She attacked the lock with several strikes, but received the same results as Yetshi. Bon-Bon moaned in frustration. "Dang it!" She said as she destabilized her drumsticks.
"Sebastian, have you seen a lock like this?" Asked Kelsey.
"Hmm… This looks like an enchanted lock. They don't open with just any magic spell or raw strength, we need to find the key that belongs to it." He replied.
"I thought I saw a key in one of the rides…" Yetshi said.
"That might be a good starting place," Kelsey added.
Just then, all the mega phones in the carnival came on. The owner spoke through them with their deep yet childish voice "Welcome to the Sweet Circuit, the funniest place on earth! Take a ride on our many attractions, sample our planet sized desserts, play games and when some fun prizes! When you think you've had enough come watch our big performance at the big top tent! You'll love it here at the Sweet Circuit, a fun time for the whole family!"
"Lord, I hate his voice." Sebastian said irritatedly.
The group checked out the 5 nearest rides to see if there was a key in one of them. They checked a drop ride, a carousel, a roller coaster meant for small children, a large arena with bumper cars in it and a ride that swung a claw in a 360 degree circle. After checking for 3 hours, they came up empty handed. Yetshi and Carl noticed Bon-Bon was getting bored so they came up with the idea of allowing her to ride something. “Hey Bon-Bon, do you want to ride something?” asked Yetshi.
Bon-Bon screamed “YES!!” with excitement.
They took her over to a ride that spun upside down. Sebastian thought the ride might have faulty wiring or could break, so they tested it to make sure nothing would go wrong. The test was successful and Bon-Bon got on, Kelsey and Carl also got on with her just so she would be even safer. Bon-Bon yelled throughout the whole ride and enjoyed every second of it. Yetshi stopped the ride after a couple minutes and thought that the machine needed to cool down. Once they got off, Carl felt dizzy and saw his vision spinning rapidly. Sebastian sat him down at one of the nearby tables so he could stabilize himself. Sebastian asked “Are you okay Carl?”
“I-I’m okay” Carl replied
After he spoke, the owner’s voice blasted over the mega phones again “Attention all park attendance: please refrain from operating any machines and let the hired operators handle everything, thank you and continue to have fun!”
Everyone had an expression on their faces of annoyance and said “What hired operators?!” in unison.
The group made it to a roller roaster, which was on the other side of the park, but what they didn't expect was to see a large toy-like insect with long clown pants and 4 black arms. It stood there not moving, almost as if it was asleep. Yetshi whispered to everyone in a cautious tone "keep your guard up."
They lightly moved in front of it while it continued doing nothing, until they took their eyes off it. It was quick and attempted to go after them, Carl looked back at it only to find it right up in his face. Not expecting it, Carl screamed which alerted everyone else. Carl pulled a top hat with a blade for a rhim out of the blue Garnet on his forehead and slashed the toy with it, however, it bounced off its head the way a human bounces on a trampoline. Yetshi picked up one of the trash cans near the entrance to the roller coaster and flung it at the insect which caused it to fall backwards, Kelsey followed by summoning a huge mallet, covered in ice, out of the lavender Garnet in her chest, crushing it's head. The bug flattened like a rubber toy having the air sucked out of it. They were able to stop it, but no one was sure if it was dead. Sebastian and Bon-Bon moved forward to investigate the roller coaster which had cars stuck at the very top of its peak, the two of them made sure to be very careful not to cause the cars to start moving again. They looked for 5 more minutes but didn't find anything, so they climbed back down and joined the others. When they made it back down they Noticed the insect was back to the way it was before "Find anything?" Asked Yetshi.
"No, but Bon-Bon almost passed out." Replied Sebastian.
"I forgot she had acrophobia, maybe I should've gone instead of her," said Carl.
"I didn't see anything near the ferris wheel, drop or the crane while up there. I think the key is in one of those storing units." Said Sebastian.
“Works for me” replied Kelsey.
On the way to the storing unit, Yetshi still had questions swarming in his head "I'm still scratching my head about what happened to everyone…" Yetshi said while they walked to the nearest storage unit.
Kelsey replied, "Even after 8,000 years, an entire species doesn't just disappear like this."
"I'm seeing a lot of smeared handprints on these rides." Sebastian said as he scanned the rides with his ability, Mind's Eye "almost as if earth humans were being forcefully dragged from the attractions."
Yetshi gave a look of serious thinking before saying "I think one of these units will give us some answers."
They made it there and found the door closed but unlocked, they stepped in and found unused rides and machines inside with blueprints aligning the walls and tools such as wrenches, hammers and screwdrivers all over the floor. The group took a look around and stumbled upon the blueprints for the circus tent next door; it was a top-down perspective and showed a large circle in the center for performances to take place and tons of bleachers for the audience. It had a bathroom and a backstage for people to get ready for the show, but it had no food stand. They thought it made sense since there was food outside. "Well we know the layout, but what about this food inconsistency?" Ask Carl.
"Not finding anything" said Yetshi "all I see are blueprints for the rides outside."
"Then let's keep looking!" Replied Bon-Bon.
Kelsey put the blueprints of the tent in her back pocket in case they needed it and they headed off to the next storage unit. They made it there to find the front door wide open. They found only paintings and sculptures inside as if it was being used in an art contest. Everyone went in and looked around but still didn’t find the key. Carl noticed a poem in a frame that was covered in a dried liquid he could not identify. He thought it might have been some sort of drink or chocolate ice cream from one of the food trucks until an unbearable smell came off the glass and frame. It smelled terribly of blood and sewage water.
The smell immediately hit Sebastian who whimpered in disgust like a wolf when he smelled the nasty musk coming from it. "Are you okay, Bastian?" Kelsey asked.
"No," he replied. "Something stinks real bad!"
Carl added "it's this frame!"
Just then, every alarm went off in Yetshi's mind. He realized why the giant foods tasted the way they did and knew the third storage unit would confirm his thoughts. "We need to go to the next one…" he said.
Everyone except Bon-Bon knew Yetshi was serious about his orders to them, so they ran after him to the last storage unit without question. The group made it to the last storing unit at the furthest end of the carnival, the door handles were chained together and they wouldn't open. Yetshi, determined to get answers, used his ability Growth to make his muscle mass expand and forcefully pulled the chain off the handles, as well as breaking one in the process. He threw the doors open and no one could believe what they were seeing; thousands of lifeless human and non-human bodies being blended, crushed and cut up into hand sized pieces and then thrown into cake batter, ice cream and other sweets. Kelsey felt her breakfast quickly rise to her mouth and she threw up. Sebastian, Carl and Bon-Bon had looks of disgust on their faces as they watched countless innocent creatures be used in such a way. As Sebastian watched 7 bears be skinned, de-boned and added to a vat of chocolate, he noticed something flashing in his right eye. It took him a few seconds for him to realize what it was, it was the key. It was silver colored and glowing with the same sky blue aura as the doors to the top tent. “Yetshi, I see what we’re looking for!” he called out to him.
“Why would the owner have a key hanging over a vat of cake batter?” Yetshi asked.
“It was likely a trap, no ladders to get up there and if you drop the key in the mix, you’re unlikely to find it again.” answered Kelsey.
“Il pense que son slick” Yetshi mumbled to himself.
Yetshi looked around to see if there was a way to get on top of the mixing bowls or a way to turn off the machines. He thought about using his wings but realized the volts of electricity that come off them are more likely to cause a problem. “Bon-Bon, what if I used one of your drum sticks to lunge myself up there?” Asked Carl.
Even at 827 years old, Bon-Bon wasn’t sure if Carl could gain enough height to grab the key and avoid falling into the bowl, but she summoned a drum stick anyways and hoped that he would be safe. "Okay…"
The drum stick Carl received was a lot longer than the ones Bon-Bon summoned previously, it looked like a pole used for Olympic high jumping. Carl walked to the other side of the unit to give himself as much running room as possible, he took a deep breath and began to run. He felt his heart pounding as he got closer and closer to his target. Before the pole hit the bowl, just a few steps away, he jammed it onto the floor and leaped upwards suddenly. He felt his feet as they left the ground beneath him and his heart pounded even quicker, Carl did his best to ignore his current fear and focus on the target that was approaching, he kept his site locked on to the key and made sure his arms were in a position to grab it. Kelsey and Yetshi both realized he might not land back on his feet so they rushed to the other side of the vat of cake mix, where Carl would presumably land, just in case. Carl saw the enchanted key, just inches away from his grasp, fearing that he would fail he closed his eyes tightly and locked his body into a ball. Yetshi and Kelsey saw him starting to fly over the vat of cake mix and positioned themselves to where they'd catch him. They both grabbed each other's arms and stretched them out like a safety net, Carl's body landed into their arms but also made them collapse as well. Bon-Bon and Sebastian rushed over as they heard the 3 of them fall to the floor. “Are you guys okay?!” asked Sebastian.
“Where’s the key?! Yelled Bon-Bon.
Carl realized he was laying on top of Yetshi and Kelsey when she said that and stood up to help them dust themselves off. “I’m so sorry!” Carl said nervously
As Carl reached out his hand to help Yetshi something fell out of his hand. Everyone’s eyes lit up with surprise as they realized what it was. “Carl you did it!” yelled Kelsey and Bon-Bon
Carl replied “Oh my Stars, I didn’t think I grabbed it!”
“Well you did, ready to speak to the manager?!”
Yetshi said as they all ran back to the top tent.
What felt like 40 seconds they made it back to the tent. Yetshi entered the key and watched as the aura around the door was absorbed by the key and disappeared. Kelsey then kicked the doors open with as much force as her right leg could muster and finally got a look at the interior of the tent. It had chocolate drizzling from the roof with multi-colored candy stars hanging on string, the floor looked like it was made of pie crust and the bleachers for the crowd were made up of pretzel sticks and vanilla wafers. They saw the owner standing in the middle of a ring stage made of candy cane and saying “Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, creatures of all shapes and sizes! Welcome to the main attraction at the Sweet Circuit, THE TOP TENT SHO-”
His sentence was cut short by Yetshi who screamed “HEY YOU!”
“Oh welcome to the show come take a seat, we’re about to begin!” The owner said excitedly.
Carl said angrily “You did this to those people, you turned them into food!”
“ON FERME CE FOUTU CARNIVAL!” Yetshi screamed in anger.
“In the name of the Goddess of Humility, your SoulGem is ours!” Kelsey followed up.
The owner laughed and spoke in a sinister high pitched tone compared to his other voice, with a crooked smile he said “I’d like to see you try…!”
Then through a massive chunk of rock candy at Yetshi.
“WHAT THE FUCK?!” screamed Kelsey as the rock candy came to a grinding halt as it hit the wall of the tent. Yetshi threw the candy to his left to reveal large scratches on his lime green armor and his muscle double the size they were before. Fuming with anger at being assaulted, he ripped off his scarf and told everyone “What are you waiting for, ATTACK!!”
Carl summoned his top hat again and flung it at the owner like a boomerang. The owner dodged it’s arc-like movement in the air like it was nothing. Kelsey and Sebastian tried to catch him off guard by throwing their weapons up at him, Kelsey threw her mallot and Sebastian threw a triton with a long leg-like bone for a staff. The owner dodged them as well and then laughed to mock them. Yetshi had enough and sprouted two large wings made of electricity and took off after him swinging his sword. After 10 strikes without contact, the owner retaliated by latching on to Yetshi’s waist and slamming him onto the floor [Heavy Slam]. Yetshi’s wings disappeared as the owner flew back up. Bon-Bon thought of using something in the tent as a weapon since she knew she couldn’t throw her drumsticks far or high enough. She noticed a giant roll of tape gum near the bleachers and came up with an idea.
“KELSEY, use this!” Bon-Bon said, trying to grab her attention.
Kelsey rushed over and Bon-Bon who explained what she wanted to try. After unraveling the gum, Kelsey licked the end to make it sticky. Yetshi stood back up after feeling his spine crack and dusting pie crust off his torso and saw the gum flying up and latching onto the owner’s. He was distracted by eating one of the hanging star candies. Bon-Bon and Kelsey then repeatedly shook the gum up in a 360 degree circle to get it to tie up the owner. Sebastian was amazed Bon-Bon’s plan was working. Not wanting to get in their way, he rushed over to Yetshi to see if he was okay “I like where this is going, Kelsey!” shouted Carl.
Sebastian realized this was his moment; as the gum around the owner was getting tighter while he struggled to get away, he summoned his triton again and waited for the perfect time. Sebastian held his triton like a spear and aimed it at the owner, right as he stopped struggling, Sebastian threw it as hard as he could with emance speed. The triton managed to stab the owner in the head and caused him to burst like a balloon, falling to the floor. "What?!" Said Carl as Sebastian ran over to the owner's now deflated body "He was a toy too?"
Sebastian pulled back the gum to see if the owner really had a SoulGem on his body. As he pulled the body off the sticky rope of gum, out of nowhere, it launched itself straight at Sebastian with speed matching Yetshi's. Without anytime to react he saw his entire life flash, he saw everything he did in his life play out as if he was sitting down to watch a movie. "oh no…!" Kelsey whispered to herself as she witnessed what happened.
The clothes on Sebastian's body broke like a glass window being hit by a rock, revealing a plane red collared shirt, blue pants and grey boots. Kelsey and Yetshi felt heavy tears fill up and pour out of their eyes as they watch their friends now lifeless-body fall backwards onto the floor. The owner proceeded to eat what remained of Sebastian and enjoyed every second of it. Carl rubbed the tears out of his eyes and moved as close to him as he could, being as quiet as he could be. As soon as the owner finished eating Sebastian's body, he redirected his attention towards Kelsey and Bon-Bon who were petrified with fear and sadness. Before he got the idea to strike again, he realized he could no longer feel any part of his body as his vision faded to black. His body glowed white and was pulled into a hidden SoulGem in his back, under his long black cape. The gem looked like a cluster with no form, like a rock science project in its early stages. The SoulGem dropped in front of Carl, as he deactivated his top hat. Carl stared at it and got the idea of stomping it for the murder of his teammate, so he put his foot over it. But before he could smash down, Yetshi called out “Carl stop! I know you want to but it's not going to bring him back…!”
He knew Yetshi was right, but didn’t want to admit it. So he removed his foot. Yetshi walked over and picked up the clustered SoulGem. “I think we better head back home and tell the others about this,” He said, trying to hold back any further tears.
Everyone except Bon-Bon nodded in agreement and walked towards the exit of the tent. As they walked passed all the rides, games and food trucks, Carl realized Bon-Bon was still silently crying behind him. Wanting to comfort her, he carried her until they made it back to the ship. Once there, Yetshi opened the door so they could get in. "You doing okay Bon-Bon?" Kelsey asked as she helped her in.
She shook her head left and right which made her two long baby blue ponytails hit her neck, Kelsey decided to sit in the back with her on the ride home. As they took off, Yetshi was curious if it was a good idea to dispose of the carnival so nothing else would happen, but he couldn’t dwell on that now.
