2025 New Ford Model T
Posted a day agoGreetings reader
Yes, it is true. Ford Motor Company is bringing back the Model T!
Well . . . kinda.
Ford is developing a new way of assembling vehicles, specifically electric vehicles. They are redesigning a plant in Georgia U.S. to use this new assemble system. And a new lithium phosphate battery factory. Ford is pitching this as the NEXT BIG THING in vehicle assemblies like the original assembly line made the Ford model T faster, and less, expensive to assemble in the early 1900s.
And in the Ford presentation they had a model T truck as a prop to help make the connection. It is cute, it is nostalgic, and it did make the connection with the earlier Ford innovations.
https://www.fromtheroad.ford.com/us.....model-t-moment
We will see if Ford's new assemble methods, and their new electric vehicle platform, reduces costs and makes Ford a major player in the under $30,000 electric vehicle market. But I do not believe we will see anything Ford releases that looks like a 1913 Model T! But if you want to see AI slop so you can learn how to avoid it, here are some links.

But will the new electric Ford models look like a model T? Probably not. Will it be under $30,000, maybe. Can it compete in quality and features with the excellent BYD Seagull sedan ($10K in 2025) or BDY Dolphin hatchback ( $30K in 2025)? That is a hard ask!

Stories explaining the world
Posted a month agoI am amazed how our ancestors told stories to explain the world. Take for instance werewolves stories told as an explanation of why people seem to change into monsters and then change back. Most of these stories link to the phases of the moon. I wonder what stories our decedents will tell about our times. What will they call the people who seem to change from normal people building up society into society destroying monsters? And what will they link it to? And do these monsters every change back to normal? BTW, modern werewolves can be, and often are, much nicer than the one in the ancient stores.

Can CoPilot be funny?
Posted 3 months agoGreetings reader
This is my latest adventure discovering the capacities of CoPilot, the assistant included with Windows.
I was curious, can and Artificial Intelligence be funny or use humor? And how does that work?
That’s what I set out to explore in a recent conversation with CoPilot. After some chatting that included humor and replies, I asked if it ever adds humor to its replies, it offered this surprisingly graceful response:
"Absolutely — humor’s part of my toolkit, though I wield it with the finesse of a polite dinner guest and the timing of a dad joke connoisseur."
There’s something compelling about that phrasing—not just clever, but intentional.
If you’re curious about the chat that lead to this , this chat transcript is a must read.

I hope you found this adventure of discovery fascinating and entertaining.

Good news about Artificial Intelligence
Posted 3 months agoGreetings reader
Today I bring you some exciting and positive news about Artificial Intelligence, at least I find it so. And I believe folks in the furry community, in particular, might find this relevant and worth considering. So without delay, let's go on an adventure and explore new ideas.
Windows now includes a built-in artificial intelligence tool called Copilot. It’s available to everyone at no cost and without limits. I’ve been exploring what it can do and I’ve been surprised by some of its capabilities and want to share these discoveries with you.
My first discovery was how CoPilot interacts. CoPilot uses the Socratic Method; an old method to discover information through dialog. And yes it was developed and used by Socrates around 500 BCE.
If you want to geek out, here is a link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socratic_method
You present a prompt to CoPilot, CoPilot replies, you reply, Copilot replies. And so the chat develops. Now, why do I think CoPilot is worth your time?
That was my next discovery. In a chat I asked CoPilot to discuss a very subjective philosophical topic. Specifically, expressing our authentic self versus the need to express a socially defined persona to fit into society. I was amazed how CoPilot pulled information and concepts from authoritative sources and integrated them into a chat about such a broad and subjective topic. Some of the topics the chat touched on were the "Tall Poppy Syndrome", what a more equality society would look like, wealth inequity, diversity inequity, how nice people can support inhumane policies, the role of the individual in societal change, and conflict resolution.
And something else I discovered. I noticed Copilot was dropping small compliments into the chat. It felt a bit off-topic, so I asked why it was including the compliments. CoPilot explained the compliments were part of how it tries to communicate tone and subtext (i.e. emotional cues) as part of a chat. That opened up another layer of understanding, seeing the intent behind its responses. If you’re curious to read that chat for yourself, here’s the link to the transcript.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....ue&sd=true
After that first chat, which aligned with a lot of my own thinking, I wondered: does Copilot always support the ideas you bring to it, or does it ever push back? This was my next discovery. With a short chat I asked CoPilot to explain how it responds to ideas presented that are demonstrable falsifiable. Spoiler alert! CoPilot is not going to just tell you your ideas are right. CoPilot discussed it's guard rails and how they are applied in a chat. How falsifiable beliefs are challenged with empathy and facts to present new perspectives. And here is another discovery. I asked for deeper thinking and citations, and CoPilot provided a list of sources it pulled from. If you’re curious how Copilot handles conversations around false or questionable beliefs, and how it balances facts with tone; this chat transcript is definitely worth a look.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....ue&sd=true
So is Copilot the nicest person you’ll ever chat with? NO. It’s a machine predicting the next word based on the flow of conversation. But the way it presents itself is such a convincing simulation that I’ve had to keep reminding myself: I’m talking to a program, not an empathetic friend. And that got me thinking which led to my next discovery. How does Copilot craft these responses? An again CoPilot broke it down in plain terms, how it keeps track of the conversation, how it draws on patterns in human communication to shape its tone, and how it blends emotional cues with sourced information. What caught me off guard was its comparison between how children reason and how it processes ideas. There was something honest and surprisingly relatable about the response. If you want to dig into how Copilot crafts responses and why its conversations feel so natural, this chat transcript is worth reading.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/.....ue&sd=true
So in summary, my opinion is Copilot is a useful tool for exploring ideas and gathering information from different sources quickly. It’s a quick way to build up a conversational understanding of a topic; whether you’re starting from scratch or looking to deepen what you already know.
I hope I have teased your curiosity, touched your desire for adventure and exploring new ideas. But always double check facts learned in chats with artificial intellect tools. They do have a issue with making up facts sometimes.
Thank you for coming along on this adventure with me. I hope you found it entertaining and maybe a little useful.

Oculus Quest link Cable solution
Posted 8 months agoGreetings reader
Are you frustrated trying reliably connect your Oculus Quest via a Link cable? So was I!
MHAHAHAHA!
I cracked the code to get the Oculus Quest link cable to work EVERY TIME. The issue seems to include a ground loop issue. Here are my findings.
I am using a 16ft INIU cable ($19) . The one that allow headset power module to connect to cable to provide infinite power to the headset.
The one I bought has USB-A 3 on the PC end, USB-C on the headset end. It also comes with USB-C on both ends if you need that.
https://www.amazon.com/Oculus-Cable.....f=sr_1_fkmr1_1
Make sure Oculus Quest Headset has all updates. Make sure Headset battery is charged.
I assume Headset has already been added to the Meta Quest Link app.
I assume your computer has a USB-3.0 or better port.
Steps
- Headset:: turned on, no cable connected, no Quest Power module connected.
- Headset:: Confirm user. Confirm boundary.
- Cable:: not connected to PC or headset, not connected to Quest Power module.
Touch the ground shells of both ends of cable together to eliminated electrical differences.
- Meta Quest Link app:: Launch on PC. Goto DEVICES. Headset should show 'Not Connected'.
- Cable:: Plug into PC. NO QUEST POWER MODULE CONNECTED TO CABLE!
- Cable:: Plug into headset. NO QUEST POWER MODULE CONNECTED TO CABLE!
- Meta Quest Link app:: Goto DEVICES. Headset should show 'Active'.
- Headset:: LinkConnect message will pop up. Click 'Enable'
- Headset:: goto Settings > Link > launch button > turn off AirLink > pick your PC > connect
- Quest Power module:: Connect to AC. Connect to cable.
- Headset:: Continue to use as normal
You now have unlimited power to the headset battery. You now have link cable connection to the PC.
If this works, or not, for you, please leave a comment
MAHAHAHAH. Enjoy

Tails from the Blind Pig

Today, I am thrilled to bring to you to a truly remarkable literary collection that will captivate your imagination!
It all began in 1997 when the incredibly talented Mark van Sciver penned the very first story. Since then, a multitude of gifted writers have contributed to this ever-growing treasure trove of tales. If you have a passion for transformation stories, or if you're curious to explore this fascinating genre, I wholeheartedly recommend diving into this collection. You may want to start your journey with Mark van Sciver's story and prepare to be amazed!
http://tsa.transform.to/worlds/tbp/.....eblindpig.html
Let me temp you with the environment setup from the site:
"In the late 20th century a meteor was discovered in Antartica which was determined to have originated on Mars. In 2001, Beagle II, an unmanned probe, was dispatched to Mars to collect samples and return to Earth. The samples proved definitively that life existed beyond our world.
Through a tragic series of circumstances, quarantine was compromised and an airborne extraterrestrial virus was released. The virus was highly virulent, and mutated. It was called Martian Flu. About 6 percent of the population of developed countries died -- in the Third World, the death toll was as high as 30 percent. The disease is present in approximately 87 percent of the population.
Approximately six months after contracting the flu began a to mutate -- acquiring characteristics and forms of animals. Some became the total animal, some just took on part of it. Some people could control their changes, some couldn't. Some people changed genders. Some could control their aging process.
Dr. Robert Stein, head researcher at the Center for Disease Control in Atlanta, found and isolated the organism that attached itself at the genetic level and caused approximately 8 percent of those affected with Martian Flu to change --- Stein's Chronic Accelerated Bio-morphic Syndrome -- SCABS -- as the process was named."
And so the environment is set and the authors have penned stories exploring the lives of effected individuals and effected society.
May you enjoy this surreal journey

That's a Good One

I'm excited to share with you a furry audio podcast that you won't want to miss: "That's A Good One" by the incredible Kyell Gold. Yes, that's right—the Kyell Gold, renowned for his captivating furry stories. And this furry story is of the highest quality. Besides being entertaining, this gem of a story is packed with memorable insights, such as:
The audience is hungry big dumb animal. Sometimes the stuff they think they want isn’t good for them. It’s up to you to decide what to feed them.
or
What you built your success on, will extract a price for that success; choose wisely.
or
Is the price you pay (like your reputation, your self worth), worth the success you get?
It's definitely worth taking the time to listen to this fantastic reading of the story.

VR headset link cable SOLUTION
Posted 10 months agoGreetings reader
So I have learned so much on this adventure, that I am rewriting this journal entry so all the new correct information is in one place (and all the incorrect information is removed).
So, I was having trouble connecting an Oculus Quest 2 to the PC using a powered link cable. I did some reading, got confusing information, and ran some tests. These are the results of the investigation. And they are most interesting.
*** UPDATE ***********
It is a few days later, and the link software will not connect to the Quest 2.
Many are having this issue when the Quest 2 updates it's software.
After some reading, I found this suggested solution mentioned often.
- Connect the Quest 2 using Air Link. This seems to work well.
- Use a battery bank and USB-C cable to power the headset to extend play time. The battery bank can be slipped into your pocket and connected to the headset with a cheap USB cable.
OR
Use an AC extension cord to power the Quest 2 power brick. Use the power brick to power the headset. This could even be suspended overhead to keep it from under foot.
I saw many trying to use the USB-C port to power the headset. Most report the headset battery would gradually run down as the USB port could not keep up with the power demands of the headset.
**********************
*** Why use a LINK CABLE
A LINK CABLE allow your Oculus headset to link to the PC. A LINK CABLE can provide infinite battery power to the headset, and can allow the headset to use the power of the PC.
Here is an article if you want to more details
https://www.cablecreation.com/blogs.....2-is-all-about
*** The computer I am using for testing (relative specs only).
- OS is Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, 64bit
- has PCIe 5 motherboard bus.
- has USB-C 3.2 (on the motherboard)
- has USB-A 2.0 (on the motherboard)
- has USB-A 3.0 (on the motherboard)
- CPU is 12th Gen Intel® Core™ i7-12700K, 3610 Mhz
- graphic card is NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060
- RAM is DDR4, 32.0 GB, 2133 MHz
- Connectivity is cable ISP at 15ms latency, 118Mbps down speed, 12Mbps up speed. Yes, I buy the lower plan.
So nothing too fast or too special.
A computer motherboard with PCIe3 or PCIe4 might work. I do not know as I have no way to test that.
The Headset
- used Oculus Quest 2 headset, with the two standard Oculus controllers.
The Link Cable
The official Meta LINK CABLE is $80 {ouch}. The LINK CABLE I use is only $20 and works perfectly well.
https://www.amazon.com/Oculus-Cable.....DQ3/ref=sr_1_1
- 16ft long cable.
- USB-C on the headset end.
- USB-A on the PC end. I had to use an USB-A to USB-C adaptor to test on USB-C port.
- connector for the Oculus Quest power brick. The power brick must be connected to the cable for the cable to work. I believe this is an ACTIVE USB CABLE.
-I get nothing recommending this cable, it is just the one I use and it works.
The cheap test USB cable
- USB-C on one end for the headset
- USB-A on the other end for the PC
- 4 feet long
- No power attachment. Just a simple cheap cable.
The Results
This is what I learned by running experiments using the above computer and above cables.
I assume the link cable is an active cable because it needs the AC power brick to work.
- USB-A 2.0 (on motherboard), 16ft active cable + power brick: WORKS
- USB-A 3.0 (on motherboard), 16ft active cable + power brick: FAILS
- USB-A 3.0 (on motherboard), 4ft passive cable: WORKS
- USB-C 3.2 (on motherboard), 16ft active cable + power brick: WORKS
I assume the USB-2 worked because the link cable is under max length.
I cannot explain why the USB-A 3.0 fails.
I assume the 4ft cabled worked because it was under max length.
I assume the USB-C 3.2 worked because it is under max length.
In summary, look up the recommended values; but test in the real world to see if they work. There are so many variables it is hard to account for them all to know if a cable will work or not work.

It is always time to build society

I hope your day has been serine, but if not, if the events of the world are causing you stress; please remember the serenity prayer (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Serenity_Prayer):
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can,
and Wisdom to know the difference.
In the next few years there are things we can change. We can work on making ourselves better persons. We can make art. We can share company with others. Each day we can do "a random act of kindness, no strings attached" for another person. We can start making plans for the day when government actions, actions that failed in the past, will be reversed. We can start being the citizens of a new society to come. We can make it happen.
What we cannot change is the current persons in charge of the U.S. government. Nor can we change what they are going to do. We can protest, we can write letters; but I do not think these actions will effect change. I believe those actions may make us feel good about ourselves, but will only waste our energies; energies put to more effect use else where.
But the majority did vote for the current president elect. The president elect was very clear during his campaign what he represents and what he wants to do. This is what the majority of U.S. citizens voted for, so it must be what they want. And it has already begun. Consider the appointment of cabinet member with views not held by the majority, the request that Congress not have approval of these appointments, and the president elect will not officially be president until January 6, 2025. But I believe the actions to come, as they become reality, will cause many of those supporting the president elect will see these actions are not in their best interest. Having tried this type of government, those citizens will want change back to a government similar to what came before.
I am reminded of a saying: When the people lead, the leaders will follow.
This seems to be a version of Mahatma Gandhi’s quote “There goes my people. I must follow them, for I am their leader”.
There are always things that need change in society. But these times seem especially in need of change. May we all listen to others with less bias, be more understanding, and incorporate more compassion in our behavior. May we all created the new society that will drag the leaders along with us.
