Today I bring you praises for Theodore Sturgeon, science fiction writer most prominent in 1950's. But he also wrote for television. Two of his most recognized television works (at least for Star Trek fans) are the Star Trek: The Original Series episodes "Shore Leave" (1966) and "Amok Time" (1967).

But it is the social commentary on humanity that Sturgeon weaves into his writings that sets his writing above average. Sturgeon's stories are so thought provoking, so memorable. As an example, one of Sturgeon's stories, "Mr. Costello, Hero" is set on another planet and examine what happens to society when fear takes over. This story was presented on 'X Minus One' radio show in 1956. For reference, 'X Minus One' was a science fiction radio weekly drama from 1955 to 1958 on NBC Radio. It is amazing how well 'X Minus One' episodes have held up over the years.

Gaming is a large and varied field, with many aspects. Today I bring you one aspect I stumbled across - the game Tetris bring used to treat emotional trauma! Some professional studies have shown a correlation between playing Tetris shortly after a dramatic event (like a car crash) and less intrusive reoccurring negative memories of the event. This research is in the early stages, but shows promise.

Are you craving a smooth, cold drink?
Do you want something with less sugar than soda, but more taste?
Well this may just be what you want. I tried it and I was blown away. It is better than great.

Whipped Frozen Lemonade

Whipped frozen lemonade combines the creaminess of a milkshake with the thirst-quenching tanginess of freshly squeezed lemonade for an incredibly refreshing treat. And this simple frozen lemonade treat comes together with just four ingredients and a blender. You can use light coconut milk or refrigerated coconut milk in place of full-fat coconut milk, though the end result won't be as rich and creamy. Leftover simple syrup will keep for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.

Ingredients
Lemon Simple Syrup
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup water
Zest of 1 lemon

Lemonade
½ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (from 2 lemons)
1 cup full-fat coconut milk
2 ½ cups ice cubes. Hint: Put ice cubes in an old bread bag. Place the bag on the counter. Whack the bag with a short 2x4 to pre-crush the ice cubes.

Directions/Instructions Checklist
Step 1
To prepare simple syrup: Bring sugar and water to a simmer in a small saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar dissolves. Stir in lemon zest and remove from heat. Cover and let steep for 1 hour, then strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve; discard the zest. (You'll have extra syrup; refrigerate for up to 1 week.)

Step 2
To prepare whipped lemonade: Add 1/2 cup simple syrup, lemon juice, coconut milk and ice to a blender. Blend until the ice is crushed and the mixture is slushy. Divide between 4 8-ounce glasses and serve immediately.

Tips
To make ahead: Refrigerate simple syrup (Step 1) in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
