When I was a kid, one of the days I looked forward to the most every year was not only Thanksgiving but the day AFTER Thanksgiving. That's because on that day the major U.S. TV networks would schedule a special morning line-up of cartoons -- sort of like a "second Saturday morning" (see below for a commercial promoting this sort of special programming). Tonight we wrap up our special 10th Anniversary celebration of Season FIVE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic with the two-part season finale, "The Cutie Re-mark." Starlight Glimmer returns to seek vengeance on Twilight and her friends and has acquired a spell that could change the past, present, and future of Equestria forever!
We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, an episode from Season 10 of Futurama.
Then, we'll wind things up with the next film in our RooToo Friday Movie. Tonight, it's a fantastic movie featuring a fox -- The Fantastic Mr. Fox!. Cuss, yeah!
Tune in next week when we'll begin our Holiday programming on RooToo!

Tonight we present our special 10th Anniversary celebration of Season FIVE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. Tonight: The appropriately-themed episode, "Scare Master." Fluttershy decides to face her fears and take part in Nightmare Night with her friends.
We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films.
After that, a special Halloween night screening of one of my favorite TV specials: The Devil and Daniel Mouse Just remember -- a song from the heart beats the Devil every time!
After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, an episode from Season 10 of Futurama.
Then, we'll wind things up with the next film in our RooToo Friday Movie. And it's a classic! What I consider to be the greatest Science Fiction film of all time: 2001: A Space Odyssey.

We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, episodes of fan favorites Jonny Quest and T.U.F.F. Puppy.

Felix Salten, the pen name of Austrian writer Sigmund Salzmann, was born on September 6, 1869. He is best known as the author of "Bambi: A Life in the Woods," a classic of 20th Century children's literature that was later turned into a popular animated film by Walt Disney.
Salten wrote many novels featuring animals as the main characters, including "Bambi's Children," "Perri," "A Forest World," "Fifteen Rabbits," "Renni the Rescuer" and "Florian, the Emperor's Stallion." I've long admired Salten's writing, and his books have been a major influence on my life and my creative work.

Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six are off for the summer and will return in October. Taking their place will be a couple of unique and amusing series: SWAT Kats and the ever-popular T.U.F.F. Puppy! Sunday through Thursday evenings on RooToo. As the Summer continues, other shows will be added, so stay tuned!

The Ponies aren't completely gone, however! We would normally start with our special 10th Anniversary celebration of Season FIVE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. However, back in 2015 the series went on a mini-hiatus. So for the next few weeks we'll show episodes form a rare "summer replacement series," Malibu U. This was a music/variety show that ran on the ABC TV network in the summer of 1967.
We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, episodes of fan favorites Swat Kats and T.U.F.F. Puppy (part of our "summer pony replacement" series).
Then, we'll wind things up with the next film in our RooToo Summer Movie Series: The Time Machine, the classic Sci-Fi film produced by Geroge Pal.

Summer programming has returned to the RooToo video channel!
Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six are off for the summer and will return in October. Taking their place will be a couple of unique and amusing series: Star Trek: The Animated Series and the ever-popular T.U.F.F. Puppy! Sunday through Thursday evenings on RooToo. As the Summer continues, other shows will be added, so stay tuned!
The Ponies aren't completely gone, however! We would normally start with our special 10th Anniversary celebration of Season FIVE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic. However, back in 2015 the series went on a mini-hiatus. So for the next few weeks we'll show episodes form a rare "summer replacement series," Malibu U. This was a music/variety show that ran on the ABC network for 7 weeks in the summer of 1967.
We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, episodes from the latest seasons of Futurama and Lower Decks.
Then, we'll wind things up with the next film in our RooToo Summer Movie Series: The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao, starring Tony Randall.

Every Friday (more or less) from now until November, we'll show an episode from MLP:FIM S5 on the 10-year anniversary of its debut. Tonight: "Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep?" Princess Luna enlists the Mane Six to hunt down a magical force that turns dreams into nightmares. This is one of the most epic of all MLP episodes. It's also the last before a mini-hiatus of the series that took place in 2015. We have a temporary replacement lined up so be sure to tune in next week for some musical fun in the sun!

Summer programming has returned to the RooToo video channel!
Twilight Sparkle and the Mane Six are off for the summer and will return in October. Taking their place will be a couple of unique and amusing series: The Famous Adventures of Mr. Magoo and the ever-popular T.U.F.F. Puppy! As the Summer continues, other shows will be added, so stay tuned!
The Ponies aren't completely gone, however! Tonight we'll start with our special 10th Anniversary celebration of Season FIVE of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic! Every Friday (more or less) from now until the Fall, we'll show an episode from MLP:FIM S5 on the 10-year anniversary of its debut. Tonight: "Slice of Life," the milestone 100th episode of the series! While the Mane Six are busy battling a monster, the citizens of Ponyville try to get to a wedding on time.

Every Friday (more or less) from now until the Fall, we'll show an episode from MLP:FIM S5 on the 10th anniversary of its debut. Tonight: "Tanks for the Memory." To prevent her pet tortoise, Tank, from going into hibernation, Rainbow Dash tries to stop winter from coming to Ponyville. Hilarity (and a LOT of crying!) ensues.
We'll follow that with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. After that, some classic short cartoons on Toon In With Me. Next, an episode of the 1960s spy/action series, The Avengers and then an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle (see my upcoming journal about the curious logic behind this programming choice).

NEZHA 2
General | Posted 9 months agoOn Friday I saw one of the most amazing animated films I've seen, Nezha 2 and it is epic; beyond epic!
It's a Chinese film based on an ancient legend about a demon who struggles to overcome his fate. The film, for lack of a better comparison, is sort of like Kung Fu Panda meets Lord of the Rings -- it's on that level of fantasy-adventure. I don't rave about movies very often, but this one is worth raving about. I gather it is already the highest-grossing animated film ever produced (it has also made $2 BILLION so far).
It features gods, mortals, monsters, dragons and has a high "furry" content. Check out this trailer:

PONYVERSARY -- a portmanteau of "pony" and "anniversary."
It was early February, 2011, that I more or less became a "brony," i.e., a fan of the animated TV series, My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic.
I was on vacation in Florida at the time. When I wasn't hanging out with friends at various theme parks, I spent my "downtime" surfing the web. That's when I discovered websites like Equestria Daily and the now-defunct Ponibooru, and drawings like this one. I had already seen a few episodes of the show, including the two-part pilot, and I enjoyed what I saw. But after that one weekend in Florida the little light when on and I said to myself, "Oh, NOW I get it!" The rest, as they say, is history.
It is hard to believe that MLP:FIM debuted a little over FOURTEEN years ago. To celebrate, we'll start out on the RooToo channel with some of my favorite fan-made Pony Music Videos (PMVs). We'll follow that with a selection of classic short cartoons on "Toon In With Me." Next, an episode of the 1960s spy/action series, The Avengers and then an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle (see my upcoming journal about the curious logic behind this programming choice). We'll finish up with another classic Marx Brothers comedy.

Tonight's video programming on "RooToo" begins with two episodes of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic, along with a selection of pony music videos (PMVs) and short films. Following that will be selection of classic short cartoons on "Toon In With Me." Next, an episode of the 1960s spy/action series, The Avengers and then an episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle (see my upcoming journal about the curious logic behind this programming choice).
Then, we'll wind things up with a classic Marx Brothers comedy. Don't miss out on the fun on RooCam LIVE! -- TONIGHT!

On Saturdays, the RooToo Channel begins with an hour and a half of classic cartoons at the NEW start time of 3:15 pm CT.
Then, on Saturday night, after The Three Stooges, Svengoolie, Batman and Star Trek, you can watch back-to-back episodes of that classic 1960s sitcom, Dobie Gillis. Like, don't be a square, man! Tune in to the RooToo channel on RooCam LIVE!
(NOTE: We sometimes skip Svengoolie, et. al., in favor of "Alternate Programming" -- movies, TV shows, short films or classic cartoons.)
