A thought for the moment...the never ending moment.
Posted 8 years agoI don’t want to live the rest of my life like this.
I must confess I don’t like being alone. Part of what makes life fun and what makes moments special is having someone to share them with. A really good bottle of wine is fine , but when its done all you have is an empty bottle. When that same bottle is shared with someone special then it becomes a great wine and when the bottle is finished it is full of lovely memories.
any thoughts?

Posted 10 years agoRemember those you may know and love who have served to keep this day possible.
Remember them with more than a trite "thank you". Showing thoughtfulness and giving a hand to those who have served in the military in ways you may never know about is what should be what this day is about.
A thought.
Just a thought that deed means more that word in some cases.
Words without deeds is what politicians do, and I should like to think that we are better than that.

HOUSE OF CARDS
Posted 10 years agoJust watched the first two episodes of the American rendition of The House of Cards.
What a cockup! Kevin Spacey cannot hold a candle to Ian Richardson.
The script makes a mockery of a well written story in ways only Hollywood can ruin a British classic.

Hopes, dreams and the rest
Posted 12 years agoThe greatest intoxicant is velocity.
Godess how I miss it. If you could bottle it you could sell it as delta V.
Velocity is something we all crave... It's us speeding forward, racing forward from our birth to our future. faster than ourselves, faster than we should...
Rainbow dash understands this, the rest of us just deny it The greatest intoxicant, the biggest addiction, None of us desire a cure for Delta v. it is what we all strive for its what its what made us go faster than sound and what is urging us to go faster than light
It's the only way we can die with a smile on our face.

Posted 13 years agoIt started out well enough, but then around about one in the morning there was crashing thunder, horrific lightning, and then came the rain of fire and brimstone!
I just sat there praying for forgiveness and hoping it would soon end!
I swear I will never go to another all you can eat chili cook off again!!
Had you going there for a moment ;)

Posted 14 years agoWent to the gym yesterday nothing new. As most of you know I go six day a week. This day there where emergency vehicles around and as I approached they where wheeling someone out. "Not a bad way to go" I thought to myself. It's better to die trying than to live going nowhere
more thoughts in passing
Posted 14 years agothis is an interesting quote;
It's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. We have no scar to show for happiness. We learn so little from peace." --- Chuck Palahniuk
sad but true for some,
and as a result we flinch and twitch into the pain, forming an arc and as a result we often curve torward the same mistakes
a self-imposed cycle of damnation.
for it is easy to decend
rather let us remember the happeniess and aim toward that sensation and

Thoughts In The Night Brought To Light
Posted 15 years agoLIGHT AND DARK
We are not all as we seem.
From light comes darkness, for as we look away from the light into the distance we see our own shadow but not what hides within the shadows themselves. Turning toward the light we see others as shadows coming from the light and we cannot see the darkness within because of the shadows without. None of us are the light, rather we are reflections of the light and shadows of those reflections.
I have been burnt by the darkness and soothed by the light but in doing so I have been blinded to what truths there are to be seen in shadows.
And yet I have faith in nights.
We are not all as we seem.

♥To every guy that gives her flowers and a card when she is sick or down.
♥To every guy who has given her flowers just because thats how he rolls
♥To every guy that said he would die for her.
♥To every guy that really would.
♥To every guy that did what she wanted to die for
♥To every guy that cried in front of her...
♥To every guy that she cried in front of...
♥To every guy that holds hands with her.
♥To every guy that kisses her with meaning..
♥To every guy that hugs her when she's sad.
♥To every guy that hugs her for no reason at all.
♥To every guy who would give their jacket up for her.
♥To every guy that calls to make sure she got home safe.
♥To every guy that would sit and wait for her for hours just to
see her for ten minutes
♥To every guy that would give his seat up...
♥To every guy that just wants to cuddle.
♥To every guy that reassured her that she was beautiful no matter what.
♥To every guy who told his secrets to her.
♥To every guy that showed how much he cared through every word and every breath.
♥To every guy that thought maybe this could be the one.
♥To every guy that believed in her dreams.
♥To every guy that would have done anything so she could achieve them
♥To every guy that never laughed at her when she told him her dreams.
♥To every guy that walked her to her car and opened the door
♥To every guy that gave his heart.
♥To every guy who prays that she is happy even if you are not with her.

Of Sand and Horses
Posted 16 years agoOf sand and horses
A memoir
Thinking back I remember Sand Lake, Oregon. I spent one lovely summer camped out there for much longer than the ten day limit placed there by the park service. But it seamed like all too short of a time. When the moon was full you could walk out along the lake, which was a lake that was formed by the ocean, and watch the lake roll out to become crossable at certain points.
While walking on the shoreline I noticed that the phosphorus in the sand would shine bright purple in the moonlight. Kicking up the sand would create purple flames at my feet. On the other side of the lake there were a herd of wild horses that would come down to the lakeside for whatever reason (I’m not sure as the water was undrinkable); nevertheless every night they came. One night I finally got up the nerve to cross over to the other side and visit them. Just imagine, my biggest fantasy come to life getting to be in the herd of horses. The smell of horses is something you never forget, the sweet grassy breath, and their warmth as they crowd you in. Well I spent several hours with them, just enjoying their company. When I turned to leave, for the tide was coming in and I could not swim, something startled the herd and they took off running. What a sight! The horses running and the sand they kicked up was making purple flames and where the sand landed on them it would glow as illuminated by the moon; creating equestrial abstract outlines as they seemed to be running on top of fire and yet a part of it as well, heading off into the distance. I would repeat this pilgrimage for the next two days before I had to leave.
I was never able to get back to Sand Lake, but it is something I like to remember when I need an escape from real life. So maybe I do get back from time to time, if only in my heart.
