3d-printed animatronic puppet-hand - video
Posted 11 years agoI made a simple model for a animatronic puppet hand. The joints were printed with flexible PLA. This is just a prototype:
Helfer gesucht beim Handpuppen bauen für die EF PawpetShow
Posted 11 years agoIch will mal wieder neue Handpuppen für die Eurofurence Pawpet-Show bauen.

3d -printed fursuit head with animatronic ears and eyelids
Posted 11 years agoI printed a bigger version of the head that I released on Thingiverse (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:284415). This version is big enough to be worn as a fursuit-head. The eyelids are also 3d-printed. It took about 16 hours to print it in PLA.
All the movable parts are controlled by Bowden-cables (bicycle break-cables) - no electronic parts, just push and pull. Everything was glued together with Plaast (http://www.plaast.de/).
I do not sell these masks.
The eyes, lower jaw and teeth will be added later.
Free model for 3d-printing - handpuppet- or fursuit-head
Posted 11 years agoI released another 3d-model on thingiverse: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:284415
This is a head-base that can be used to build a puppet-, plushie-, robot- or even a fursuit-head. The nose is included.
I did not include the lower jaw because It's faster to make one with an aluminium-profile when to print it.

The holes for the eyes were enlarged to accomodate the eye- and eyelid mechanic for http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:198945
Video of the head in puppet-size:

3d-printed puppet-heads - video
Posted 11 years agoThese are some of the puppet-heads that I made with my 3d-printer. They were printed in PLA on a Makerbot 1 clone at 0.2mm layer hight. Each head took 6-8hours to print.
All the animatronic-parts - like movable eyelids and ears will be controlled with bowden-cables (not installed yet):

I do not sell them (they were made for the Eurofurence Pawpet-Show). The Pawpet-Show still needs more people who want to help building the puppets, sewing clothing and making props.
A short test-video of my 3d-printed fursuit- und puppet-head
Posted 11 years agoI've made several fursuit- und puppet-heads with my 3d-printer - time to try them out in a video:
Because too many people asked:
I cannot make you a fursuit or puppet - I have not enough time to do commissions.
I will not sell these fursuit-heads.

3d-printed fursuit-head - now with movable jaw
Posted 12 years agoI worked on the 3d-model for the fursuit-head. Added holes to make it lighter and included a base for the ears. This version printed in about 15 hours - weights 188g.

3d-printed fursuit-head base
Posted 12 years agohttp://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y1.....ps14740f39.jpg
I tried to alter one of my old 3d-models to make a base for a fursuit-head. It worked really well. The mask has enough space for my glasses. Printed in PLA - 12hours 11minutes - weight 166g. Sturdy enough to stand on it.

My panels at Eurofurence 19
Posted 12 years agoI'll hold two panels at this year's Eurofurence:
"How to Build Cheap Fursuits" and "Puppet Building"
If anyone has construction related questions beyond my tutorials I can try to find more pictures (I have lots of photos of puppet- and fursuit-construction that aren't online).
Any requests?
